N79 shut down itself

My n79 phone is getting turned off automaticallyby itself. Experienced it multiple times.
Once while it was getting chanrged and cahrging was 90 %... couple of times in mypocket....
Recently I had installed one unsigned sms filter application, after that i am facing this issue... battery consumption is also high ....(halved)
there is no network requests though....
Question 1: can this be due to the malware?
Question 2: what is the resolution ? if formating then how? what all it will remove from phone?
Question 3: Can we debug this problem with help of some sniffers?
thanks in advance.
loyal nokia user.

First: I'm no master. But have you checked to make sure that all parts of the unsigned sms filter application have been removed? Some applications install other supporting applications. You can look using the application manager. Otherwise, it might be possible to fix the problem with a reformat, done by pressing *#7370#. Back up all of your data first.

My iPhone 5s with iOS 7.1 become very hot when charged almost reach 100 % and will shut down itself. Then I need to off the power and let it cool down first before I can on the phone back. Please help me to solve this problem. Thanks.

    Hi Limfromsi,
It is normal to an extent for the iPhone to get warm during charging. If your iPhone is currently in a case, you may want to try charging it without one and see if the issue occurs, as the design of the iPhone uses the exterior of the device as a cooling surface. • HT1455 iMac shuts down itself in the middle of Safe Boot progress bar loading

Hi, Im using a late 2009 iMac 21.5'' on Mountain Lion. (Originally Snow Leopard I THINK)
I got the dreaded grey screen one day and after I did more reseach i tried using the Safe Boot way.
Now Ive encountered a new problem, everytime I turn on my mac, it shows the Apple logo and the Safe Boot progress bar.
Not even reaching halfway through the bar, it just shuts down itself, every single time.. please help?
Btw, I',m using a wireless keyboard, I had to go around borrowing a windows keyboard from my friends, I dont know if anyone can shade some light if i can use wireless to do the keyboard pressing thing when it starts up?
I've also tried inserting my original OS installation disc and press C..it just shows a grey screen, then the disc got ejected, then the Apple logo with the progress bar and then shuts down itself.
Please help, I just need to go into my system one more time and backup my important datas before i go for the 1TB Seagate Replacement Program.
Thank you so much, appreciate it!

Is that similar with this article http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1553 on 'Instruction for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk utility' ?
No, that copies the entire drive IF it's entirely readable which you don't need, you only REALLY need is your files as everything else (OSX and programs) can be replaced)
Ds store: I read your article on creating a data recovery.
This is designed to install OS X onto a external drive, boot from it and then:
1: Attempt data recovery via normal drag and drop methods on your Users folders.
2: If the above fails, to see if the internal drive is working via Disk Utility, and/or use Data Rescue software ($100) to attempt recovery of the files themselves, bypassing the file structure and whatever is causing the problem.
3: Build your extenral boot drive of everything the way you need it, then Carbon Copy Cloner the external onto the internal drive (new or erased whatever the case may be)
May I ask you why not port powered?
Mac's have been shutting off ports that are drawing too much current, like what port powered hard drives do.
Am planning to get myself a 3TB external HDD 3,5" for all my backups in time for my AASP journey
Too large for a boot drive, you basically want a external boot drive equal too or slightly larger than the boot drive your recovering from, because later you can use it as a bootable clone backup of the entire boot drive and store it for emergencies.
These large drives like 1TB and 3TB are sometimes problematic (especially with 10.6) when formatting. Also I advise all boot drives be Zero erased before OS X is installed or cloned onto it to reduce bad sectors,  a zero erase on a 3TB drive could take 6-10 hours.
If you want to use the 3TB, use it for file backup, not for your bootable clone your creating with the instructions I gave.
You see later on, once you got all your data off the internal boot drive, you build the external boot drive just like you would do a brand new erased internal drive. You add programs and whatnot, tweak it how you like. Because later on your use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the external onto the erased or new internal drive. Get it?
So 3TB is excessive if your internal boot drive is only 500GB, you will have 2.5TB left over.
Sure you can partition, but I don't advise having so many backups on one piece of physical media, you drop it, lose it or fry it, you lost everything.
So more and seperate pieces of backup are safer in that regard, hardware and software redundancy.

The startup disk may need repairing...
Startup your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys.
From there you should be able to access the built in utilities in OS X Recovery

  • Nokia 5530 Shuts down itself - Need help

    Hi
Did anyone experience this? My 5530 would shuts down itself anytime during a call.
Could be either during a received call or dialed out call.
Could be right after the call is connected, or few mins after the call is connected
I have been using it for half a year without any problem. It just started to go nuts this week.

Ok, what I would do is to update if possible : http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-update, or/and soft reset and format the memorycard.
(remember to back up anything you want, - But I would try not to backup more than contacts, messages and music and pics - as you might can take the problem with you. Likely - it's not a software issue as you said it been behaving fine for half a year.
Have you installed any apps lately right before the issues started?
If you cannot figure it out - I would take it to a Nokia care point as it might be a hardware fault.

  • IMac shuts down itself (or log off) when I leave it  even if working

My iMac shuts down itself when I leave it for a few minutes even if working, just as example, when rendering a movie. Every time I leave the computer for more than 30 minutes, I come back and I find the first screen. (actually I don't know if the iMac shuts down or just log off)
    Anybody knows ?
    Thanks
    Max

    Hi Max
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
There are two levels of sleep, Display Sleep and Computer Sleep.
Go to: Apple > System Preferences > Energy Saver > and set Computer Sleep to Never and Display to Sleep after 10 or 15 minutes. That way the Computer will stay awake, but the Display will Sleep if your not sitting there doing something on it.
Also if you want to disable the password after Computer Sleep, go to System Preferences > Security > General and uncheck the Require password box.

  • My iPhone 4s shut down itself !!?? (since iOS 5.0)

my ip4s shut down by itself 2-3 times a day when it is locked (stand by) in most cases, it happens periodically and unpredictably. and when I press power button to restart it, it is either showing "the battery is too low to turn on the device" or it is down (i think it switch itself off again) after the apple logo. tried 2-3 times, it's back like normal. even once it happens when connected to the PC. I was wondering whether it is hardware issue or just firmware bug. (i say battery failure)
check out the video recording, you will know what exactly the issue is.

Thanks for your reply but dont you think it is not normal because it never happened with any other iphone and it was fully working phone for atleast 15 min or more it is very dangerous when you are giving your phone to someone like your wife or others to use and it just happens sometime in a hurry you dont want to switch off your phone before removing sim card.

  • Why my i pad will suddenly shut down itself ?

why my ipad will shut down itself

    No clue.
Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke.  If it hasn't been, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

  • Help! my laptop keeps shutting down itself.

When I power ON my laptop, after 2 or 3 seconds it automatically turn off. Then I press the power button again then nothing happened. When i close the laptop sceern and reopen it the laptop starts without pressing the power button  and after 2 or 3 seconds it turn off again.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do? Thanks

    Hi @Studemt
Welcome to the HP Community! I understand that your laptop does not start when you press the power button but if you close and reopen it turns on without you touching anything. This is very odd and I will be happy to help figure it out.
Let me start by getting some more information:
When you first start it up did you have to open the lid first or do you just shut it off with the lid open?
Do you typically shut it down or do you just let it go to sleep?
Does the same thing happen both when you are on battery and when you are connected to the wall?
What do you have your laptop set to do when you close the lid? If you're not sure this third-party link will show you how to do it.

  • Iphone 4S shuts down itself ?

hello, i was wondering if anyone experienced this issue before. my new iphone 4s happens to turn itself off and i cannot turn it back on by pressing the home button or the power button. even when i hold the power button, the apple logo doesnt show or the connect to power logo. the only way for me to get it back on is by holding the power and home button at the same time to do a hard restart. the first time it happened was when i put it down and went to eat dinner and came back to it and it would turn on. i tried pressing the power button, no luck. tried pressing the home button, no luck, held the power button and no luck, the only way to turn it on was to do a hard restart. the second time this happened is when i put my phone in my pocket, went into a car to go someone and took it out and it wouldnt turn on. i had to do another hard restart. any suggestions as to what i should i do ? and did anyone else experience this problem ?

So two days ago I've contacted Apple support (UK) and they advised me (as other users have mentioned mentioned) to restore my device.
But before doing that I've decided to try and update my iPhone 4S to iOS 5.0.1 (which I guess is identical to "restore" since the current OS version is now 5.0.1).
So far no crashes (and of course no panic logs)!
On one side, this is great - no more crashes.
On the other, I'm afraid that it is some kind of hardware problem and that it might show itself again in future iOS versions (when my device won't be under warranty anymore)...
As said, the "sut down" bug I've suffered from was a bit different - in a sense that I didn't have to do a hard reset in order to turn it on again, but rather click the home button and wait for the device to restart.
I think I'll wait a couple of days and see if everything runs smoothly...
I wonder if this bug was sorted out to other users, after 5.0.1 update...

  • IMessage won't display info and shut down itself

I see there is 9 messages waiting for me because my family send me a bunch of pictures.  When I start the Messages, it will open but no content at all then it will closed itself.  Did this many times already without success.  i tried power off and on but it didn't solve the problem.  Any idea how to fix this?

    1. Double-click the Home button to reveal Task Bar at bottom
    2. Hold the iMessage app down for a second or two until you see the minus sign
    3. Tap the minus sign to close app
    4. Re-launch the app and test
Note: If necessary close all apps in the Task Bar

  • IWeb shut down itself. Help!

    Hi guys!
I'm recently having problems with iWeb. It suddenly started to shut itself as soon as I open it. And I reopen it, but still it keeps shutting off for no reasons, I cannot check the setting of it at all as it switches off so quick that I do not have time to go through its settings. I checked my .Mac account, there's problems.
So what I do? Delete iWeb from my Applications, and install it again? Will my site files lost if I delete it?
Have anyone has the same problem?
