N8 - Disable red light video recording

Any way to disable the red light during video record? Thanks

I tried all settings, and wherever i could find an option for turning the focus light off, i did.
So, i noticed that once i have settings on macro, it turns off the red light, but only for the first video shoot. If i pause, instead of stopping, and keep recording the video, it's alright.
But once i stop, the red light turns on again. In that case I have to restart the camera pro.
Not a perfect solution, but nevertheless, there is a solution.

  • Audio muted/disabled- red light coming out of jack????

what the heck? anyone know what's going on here? red light in my headphone jack and volume control non-operational. reset the PRAM to get speakers working for a moment before problem returned. works fine when headphones in, but not without.
and the red light shining out... what IS that?

    Hey all-
I've worked on laptops before and didn't feel comfortable sticking a metal clip into it. I did snap the end off a Q-tip and wiggled the cardboard ever so gingerly and it went off. BUT later in the week the same problem occurred. I've got an appointment with Apple tomorrow and will keep you up to date on the "official word" with this problem. I'm still in the year warranty period (refurbished pruchased, year up in November) so they should replace anything that is failing this soon in the game.
Have a co-worker that just had a new MBP's video fail after less than a month of use---Apple replaced the whole machine, but only because it was in the first 30 days of purchase. Doubt they'll make me the same kind of offer. Still sorta miffed to have problems with my newest machine. Never had to get AppleCare, but think I'll have to with this guy... hope it's not IceBook Logic board blues for these first Intel offerings.

  • Iphone 5S low light video recording is very dark :(

    Hello Friends,
I bought a new iphone 5S and its few days only since i have been using this phone
and i never tested video camera before.
recently i came to know while taking some video in a low light situation, i noticed that the video is **** dark and
it looks pathetic though in image mode the camera appeares to be good and its clearly brighter.
but when i switch to video mode it becomes very darker.
I did some comparison just to confirm my suspicion and in fact it turns out that videos are worse quality than videos that i shot with my iphone 4S, i tried all possible settings but nothing worked,
i did restore my phone twice by assuming it is a software issue however i still believe it might be a software issue because when i am using 3rd party app to take video everything is perfect. even if i am using the same camera feature through imessage/whatsapp by directly accessing camera it works fine.
i don't know what exactly the problem is
please friends help me....if anyone has faced the similar problem.
    Thank you

    Hello there, ankitnavgwal.
Good job on troubleshooting your issue so far. The following Knowledge Base article offers a great checkllist of practical steps for troubleshooting issues with iOS not functioning as expected:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on - Apple Support
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged. Learn more about charging iPhone and iPod touch, or iPad.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Possible to disable audio during video recording? On 5th gen nano.

I'd like to use the video camera to record picture only.   Is there some way to disable the audio?  Does plugging in a microphone to the audio jack disable the onboard mic?   Thanks.

Not possible. You have to use a regular digital camera OR use an iPod Touch (4th gen or better) OR iPhone (3 or better)

  • Skype Video calling - red light but no video

I did a search but couldn't find anything on the boards. If I initiate or receive a video call, the red light comes on and a black box where the picture should be, but nothing shows up. The audio works fine, but not the video. Is there a setting i need to activate or something?

take a look at the top 12 thread i made. one of them is detailed on how to do skype.
    @richwhite
check the network you are on and be sure it is 3/3.5G as the video sometimes takes a while...even if on 3G. depends on the data connection. even though you may be connected 3/3.5g...not all areas of the network have the same data speeds.
also, if you have the cssu installed. it seems it takes a bit longer then before the cssu. may just be my unit.

  • How do you disable "digital optical output" so the red light in headphone jack goes off and I can use the internal speakers?

    HI,
I have a red light in my headphone jack and I see "correct responses" listed as "when digital output is enabled speakers are disabled." That's all well and good but doens't really help. HOW do you disable the "digital output," get the red light to turn off and be able to hear through the speakers? What's the SOLUTION to the problem. Sorry, just a bit frustrated. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Best,
    dpeast12

Allegedly this can occur if there is a contaminant in the headphone jack that makes the computer believe there is an optical connection there, so it shuts off the internal speakers.
Try inserting and removing a headphone plug repeatedly. This ought to dislodge the junk, and seems to have fixed the problem for others. Hope it helps!

  • Disable Continuous Autofocus during Video Recording

Hi, is there a way to disable the continuous autofocus during video recording? The continous autofocus is very annoying during video recording as the video consistently appear out of focus when during refocusing. There are alot of situations where continuous focusing is not required.
Can we have a new video focusing mode where the camera will only refocus to an area that is tapped on the screen? This is a very basic feature that is available in almost all other smartphones. Without this focusing mode, the video recording of the Z1 is 99% unusable although the phone has a very good sensor. As the Z1 is Sony's flagship smartphone, I hope that you can add this simple feature as a software update asap. Thanks.

Is there any way to disable continuous auto focus? or at least any setting which can help getting a better video. In My xperia z1 compact , when i take a video, it will always hunt for the focus, result is Jurky video.
after lollipop upgrade also, things doesn't changed much.
so can anybody tell, any setting that can avoid this?
    Thanks
    Pavan

  • Recording voice over doesn't give "red light" feedback

In the documentation it says that when a voice over recording begins "A pulsing red light in the upper-left corner of the screen indicates that recording is in progress."
I see the red like graphic and what looks like an audio meter, but they are static--they don't blink or change or anything. So I don't get a visual feedback that it is actually recording or if my audio level is right.
I just installed iWork 09 this week and it seems to be the same results on the 3 different Macs I use around here.
Is this a feature in 09 or did I miss some setting someplace?

Yes, I've proven it is a bug with external sound cards/mixers. I switched to the internal audio on my MacBook Pro and the meter worked fine. I did report it, but who knows if or when it'll be corrected. Perhaps they have an issue with external devices that self-regulate the audio levels?

  • Nokia N8 Red light on while recording or picture. ...

After giving up on finding a hack to turn off the red light, I instead placed tape over the red light so that it's not a distraction to people I'm recording or photographing.  It is extremely bright.
I'm wondering does that effect autofocus in any way?

  • Macbook 2008 no audio from speakers - can't disable digital audio - red light in headphone jack

Looking for help with this problem, that seems like a lot of people had in the past and still have, but I see that a couple of discussions on it here have been archived. Too bad, as the problem continues.
I seem to be having the same problem with my late 2008 white 2.1Ghz Macbook.
I had used earphones a few times with movies and iTunes, with no problems. Now I've just rebooted to find that I have no audio from internal speakers (the boot up chime works though). Earphones work perfectly.
There is a constant red light in the earphone jack. The volume icon in the top menu bar is greyed out. In the Sound preference panel, Built-in Speakers are not available as an option for audio out. The only option is Digital Audio. If I connect earphones, then they are available as the only option.
I have tried all the various methods that people have recommended, to switch off digital audio through the earphone jack: trying to flip the little switch with a toothpick, paper clip, etc., as well as cleaning around inside the jack with a bit of rubbing or cleaning alcohol; also tried inserting and removing the earphones plug several times, while pushing the volume buttons on the keyboard. Nothing works.
I did get something from inserting/removing the earphone plug, as I seemed to be able to adjust volume from the keyboard, but I never got sound out from the speakers; the volume window seemed to indicate increase/decrease volume as I pressed the keys, but after a few seconds the volume window greyed out again with the No Entry symbol.
Trying to flip the digital audio switch in the jack occasionally gets the red light to turn off for a couple seconds, but then it comes back on.
Is there any particular problem with this that can't be solved by the aforementioned methods, that many people have used to solve it in a simple manner? Could my problem be more serious? Is there anything I could do if I opened up the Macbook, e.g., somehow to manually turn off the digital audio switch?
    Any help greatly appreciated.

Got it fixed with a small flathead screwdriver with a fairly wide blade. Opened iTunes, started playing songs, had red light in headphone jack, as per usual with this problem.
Put screwdriver in jack, with blade more or less vertical, started moving it around inside of jack in clockwise motion, pressing pretty firmly. Took just a couple of "swirls" around the inside of the jack and then audio finally turned on! Was a bit of a hassle, but finally worked.
Many thanks to all for their suggestions.
P.S. re. advice not to use metal object. This was the only way I was finally able to solve the problem (i.e., using the small screwdriver). I didn't see where using a metal object would be a problem, seeing as the headphone plug itself is metal. Anyway, it worked.

  • Video record stutter problem!

I have a n95 8gb (v20.0.16) an when i start recordin it starts to stutter after about 10 seconds.
I'm not the only one to have this problem many more people do!
I read somewere that somebody posted on this forum about this problem and the post was deleted.
    plz don't do so
i tried reformating, defragmenting, and reinstalling firmware and nothing .. the problem persists
ANY advice will be read and used!

hmmm u should update ur phone since the newest fw version for the n95 8gb for now is fw ver 30. Update it and it should solve ur problem. If it doesn't solve your problem, then wait for a certain time. It will recover by itself. Really, believe me. I just don't use the video for a certain time when the red light keep on blinking when i recording. After a certain time, it recover by itself. That was a miracle for me. HAHA. Or there is a temporarily method. Just change the saving video path to ur phone memory and it's all done. You can record video without any problem.

  • Record Level Adjust for Audio in Voice Memo or Video Recorder

I would like to request that Apple allow me to adjust the record audio volume level when recording in Voice Memo or Video Recorder modes. Often I find that the audio is distorting and most times I cannot step back far enough to avoid distortion levels. While I love the ability to SEE the audio level in Voice Memo mode, I am hoping that it is only a matter of firmware upgrade to be able to ADJUST the record level.
Also, if it is possible, it would be great to see some indication of audio level when recording video... something simple like a bar graph with green, yellow and red bars with the highest level reached sticking for a few seconds so that I can tell what the level is.
An alternate solution (if none of the above is possible in a firmware update) would be to automatically adjust the recording level to prevent audio distortion.
Thanks for the great iPod and here's hoping for a great firmware update in the near future!

Thanks, I've submitted my recommendation to Apple.

  • No sound on my Macbook pro, red light.

My Macbook Pro won't play anything out loud, through the speakers, like when i have to watch a video or hear some music, i have to put my headphones in the Macbook, and then it can play the sound, but if i take them out, there are no sound and there is a red light where the headphones are supposed to be plugged in (The video or music continue playing, i just can't hear it).
I read something about "International speakers" and it's stuck on a speaker in settings, and to solve it, you just have to play some music with the headphones in the computer, and then take them out of the computer, while the music is playing, and then it should work - but it didn't work.
I've tried to turn off the macbook for a long time and then start it up, didn't work. I've tried to just normally restart it, didn't work either.
The problem just came suddenly, I didn't do anything specific before it happened, one day it just didn't work, which is about 3 weeks ago now.
My Macbook pro is 2 years old in May, and i've updated it with anything that IOS said i should.
Hope you guys know what i can do.

    Try the following: I
nsert the earphone jack several times.
Blow real hard into the audio output port. Use compressed air if you have it.
Take a cocktail stirrer or a tooth pick and wiggle it inside the port.
The internal switch is stuck when you see the red light.
    Ciao.
