N95 remove search and online services

Hi,
Does anyone know how I can remove the search and online file sharing (my phone shows Flickr) from the home screen? I would just like to see the active standby apps, WLAN and my calendar entries.
I have software version V 30.0.015

I'm afraid it's all or nothing. The programmable selection keys, the standby icons, Share Online and the search facility are all parts of the Active Standby. To get rid of them you have to get rid of Active Standby altogether:
Settings > General > Personalisation > Standby mode > Active standby

Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings, turn airplane mode on, wait three seconds, and then turn off again.
Restart your iPhone.
Make sure that your software is up to date:
Check for a Carrier Settings Update: Tap Settings > General > About.
Check for an iOS Software Update: Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
Remove the SIM Card and reinsert it. Allow the iPhone to acquire the network again.
If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try turning it off: Tap Settings > Phone > SIM PIN.
Try another location. If a different location works, but the original location still doesn't, contact your carrier to report the issue.
Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Restore the iPhone as new.
Contact your carrier to:
Verify that the iPhone is properly set up on the account with the appropriate, current data plan.
Verify that there are no account-related blocks.
Find out if there are specific error messages in the carrier logs that could help determine why the issue is occurring.

HT1414 how bout if the phone is restored already. there is a searching and no service keeps showing up?

how about if the phone was factory unlocked reset. my phone now is say searching and no serice back and forth. the wifi is working good, I created my itunes account today like an hour ago. but the phone is not say tmobile service yet. even though the phone is not avtive yet. is it normal for the iphone to be showing searching and no service even with an sim card already on. or sould it say tmobile?

In Settings App, turn 3G OFF. It might be under Settings App > General > Cellular > 3G OFF.

Problem with removing Search and Advanced Search functionalities in Portal

Hi,
      As per our client requirement, we have removed search and advanced search functionalities in Masthead and those are working fine. But when ever we restarted the portal server, these search options are reappearing in portal.
          I am not getting why it is happening and every time we restarted the server, we are removing these search functionalities from masthead.
          If anyone knows why it is happening, kindly share with us

                     Problem is not solved. Where can i find the Standard tool area iview used in Default frame work page ?
At present, we disabeled the search and it's working fine. But when we restart the portal, search is again reappearing and we need to disable that once again.
           Is there any sollution for this problem?? Kindly let me know..

Continuation of WebOS support and online services

What is the prognosis for continuing WebOS support and online services now that HP is out of the WebOS hardware business? How long can I count on having an active and supported webOS online account? As a decades-long Palm user, how long before I should seriously consider jumping ship?

If I knew the future cfinkle, I'd be a rich man on my own beach in Hawai'i right now...
AFAIK, webOS will be supported for at least a year to fulfill the warranty. HP has maintained they will support the software side, but will no longer make hardware.
Who knows? Another company might buy webOS (again) and keep it alive for a good long run!

All times search and no service

y am update my iphone 3gs 32gb using itunes to ios 6.1.3 and now no service all time, please help!

This probably means that you have a phone that is locked to a carrier, but was hacked or jailbroken to unlock it from that carrier. Updating iOS removes the hack. The only solution that can be discussed in an Apple forum is to find the carrier that it is locked to and see if they will unlock it for you.

Hello,I called and upgraded my service to add cable and a sports package. The lady I spoke with said I had HBO for two years and that I would be able to watch it online and on my smartphone. But when I sign in to HBO Go or Xfinity TV go to watch anything it says I am not subscribed to it.When will this be available to me ?

The documen t was originally created with Word (*.doc) then printed to PDF format; now I need to convert back to Work, but I get the "Conversion Failure" error message, both on conversion back to *.Doc format and attempt to convert to *.docx format.

How large is the PDF that you're trying to convert? How did you generate the PDF from Word (did you use Acrobat, or Word's built-in PDF generator)? What version of Word are you using?
The answers to those questions should help us get to the bottom of things.
In the meantime, please try the following:
Clear the browser cache and log back in to https://cloud.acrobat.com.
Try a different web browser (see System Requirements | Adobe Acrobat Pro and Online Services for a list of supported browsers).
Try to convert a different file (if you can convert another file without error, the one you're receiving the error on may be damaged).

W2 online service - how to default search results

Hi
In the latest WDA W2 online service application, how can we default search results. Basically there are 3 sections, the first one is search criteria and search, second, the search results and third shows the form selected in search results in PDF.
We want to hide the search criteria and and auto populate the search results. Are there any BADi or enhancements we can use to implement this?

ORACLE Secure Enterprise Search and Content DB / Content Services

OSES provides a connector to index and search ContentDB / Content Services.
I could not find any information which content will be indexed and searchable.
a) Fulltext (e.g. PDF / Doc)
b) Standard Attributes (e.g. description)
c) Custom Attributes
Can indexing (a+b+c) be configured,
or do I need to customize the connector to let the description field be indexed
or do I need to re-implement the connector?

It can be done but it's not easy.
Federation is done through the Web Services API. To create a custom federation to a non-SES endpoint, you have to replicate most of the Web Services API. You can choose to do it selectively, for example you can choose to implement doOracleSearch but not doOracleAdvancedSearch or doOracleBrowseSearch (names from memory - could be wrong) which would give you the basic search capability but no advanced search or browse against the federated source.
Then you've got the problem of merging results. When all federated sources are SES based, it's easy to merge them. You know that a document which scores 63 fron one source is more accurate than one that scores 62 from another, and so should appear higher in the hitlist. But if one of those sources is - say - Bling, then how do you that 63 as a score from Bling is comparable to 63 as a score from SES? They're probably not comparable.
These are the reasons that mention of federation to external sources was removed from the 10.1.8.4 documentation, it was felt that it just wasn't practical for most users.
A rather better alternative is to use the Suggested Content feature. This is MUCH easier to configure, and doesn't attempt to merge the results. From a user's point of view this may be less desirable than a merged result set, but given that any such merge probably won't work well, it's really better all round.

BEST BUY ONLINE NEEDS SOME HELP AND CUSTOMER SERVICE NEEDS TO BE HELPFUL

After having just spent an hour trying to order something that the website says was in stock, and then finding it really wasn't available, it became obvious to me that Best Buy online leaves something to be desired. It seems like a classic bait and switch. Get people to the website with a low priced "deal", only to find it isn't available, however a more expensive version is available.
So, I call customer service. I get someone who assures me the order will go through, provide my credit card, redeem my points, and only to find it would not work after all, as it didn't for me. So I ask for a supervisor. And I get someone who says "I don't know" and has no answers except that this is the way it is. To add salt to the wound, he announces that unlocked phones cannot be ordered via telephone. When asked why the rep didn't know that, yes, another "I don't know".
As a Best Buy customer who spends way too much money at Best Buy, I find this entire situation unacceptable. As they say, vote with your feet, I will be exploring other stores to spend my money at. A website that says something is available, and then isn't, simply is bad business. And customer service who can only say "I don't know" isn't really customer service at all.
A "out of the box" idea would be to listen to what I'm saying, and fix it; this isn't the first time this has happened. Simply saying "I don't know" is only irritating customers who are trying to buy things from Best Buy. I am so frustrated with the situation and I assure you I will look elsewhere for future needs/wants.

Difference between a Search and a Retrieve web service?

Anyone has any idea what's the difference between a Search and Retrieve web-services generated by the 7.1 WS Generator? It seems like you can use both to retrieve any kind of result definition and search by any field.
I don't mind really, just curious if I'm missing something.

Personalization:
Portal: Limited, focused content. Eliminates the need to visit many different sites.
e.g. you type in your user name and password and see your yahoo mail only.
Website: Extensive, unfocused content written to accommodate anonymous users needs.
Customization :
Portal: You will select and organize the materials you want to access. Organized with the materials you want to access.
Website: Searchable, but not customizable. All content is there for every visitor.

Search and remove subscribers manually from BC

I am wanting to remove several subscribers from multiple email lists.
Is this possible without having to scroll through countless pages from a variety of lists?
We often get around a dozen people who mail in and say 'remove me from your list' as opposed to managing their account.
In order to remove them I have to do the following.
Choose the first email list of many
change drop down display to 50 address
click address column to sort into alphabetical order
scroll through until I find the place where the email would be
if there, delete
if not there, assume its on a different list or they did actually unsubscribe as well as send the email to unsubscribe
With tens of thousands of email addresses and multiple lists, this takes a long time.
Is there a way to simply enter a search, then delete?
The only way I could see at the moment is to export, excel search and delete then re-import. Don't really want to be doing that though.

In Admin, go to CRM > Search and lookup the user's e-mail address. Any user subscribing to a mailing list is turned into a CRM Customer. Once you find the contact, open it and go to "Subscriptions" and untick the respective list (all subscriptions will be listed on top, under "Campaign List")

I was able to reproduce the exact same error message when accessing my sharepoint.com site using an account with Global Administrator role, but without the proper licensing.
What happens if you go to https://gsmtrans123.sharepoint.com, or
https://gsmtrans123-my.sharepoint.com. Do you see any sharepoint sites, or do you get a error message?
Have you tried to open this in another browser, or cleared the cache in your current browser?
Could you try to create a new account, assign it the Global administrator role, and a SharePoint license, and then login to your admin site?
If all of those fail, you should probably create a Service Request using this form

Hi Kalpana
Please reread my comment. I said to try and populate "Requested End" Date.
Make sure the date profile assigned to the transaction includes this Date Type.
If you can populate this either manually or programmatically the solution should be quite forward.
If you cannot do this, only then should you look at making any significant sort of enhancement.
