N97 - imap - marking delete

Have I overlooked it?
At my imap email account when deleting a message I only mark it as deleted. (And then ocasionally clean folders of them.) But N97 shows them all still as normal emails and I found no option to hide them.
Also I would like that delete is not a hard delete, but just a marking as deleted as I do it form Outlook.
If this is not available, this would be definitely a feature request, then.
btw.: what is this stupid function in the forum message editor about, that 'return' swaps the direction of writing ?!

I tried something:
If I unsubscribed from the ELTE It was synchronized the INF subscribed directory too.
My real directory tree on the gmail server is the following:
inbox
ELTE
--Bejovo
----ETR
--Kimeno
INF
--Bejovo
----NSN
--Kimeno
Mailbox
--Bejovo
--Kimeno
Sent Items
I think the problem is the same subdirectory names, if it is that is a serious bug...

If I mark a deletion flag to an maintenance plan through ip02 ,the user who changes and when changes, get reflect in ip16. but same if I do through ip25 (mass deletion flag ) then above field remains blank.

Sounds like the mail server thinks you are asking to delete the bulk-mail mailbox instead of some/all of the messages within it.
How are you trying to delete your bulk mail messages? That is, what are you doing, step by step, up to the error message.
What you should probably be doing is selecting the bulk mail mailbox, selecting one of more messages inside it, then hitting the "delete" key.

IMAP - see deleted mail yes/no - auto expunge?

Have a strange situation on IMAP.
My phone.
1. If I delete on my iPhone:
a) The message is copied to a Deleted folder
b) The message is deleted from the Inbox
c) An expunge is sent immediately and the message has totally left my Inbox
2. If I mark as deleted on my IMAP via some other means (web mail etc) the mail DOES NOT appear on the iPhone Inbox
Someone elses phone:
1. If they delete on iPhone all happens exactly as above
2. Messages marked for deletion on IMAP server DO appear in iPhone Inbox.
From much of the web discussions about IMAP, lots of other peope find:
1. If they delete from iPhone
a) The message is copied to a Deleted folder
b) The message is marked for deletion on IMAP
c) No expunge is sent, so message is visible on other clients if option is set to show deleted messages
2. Message marked for delete on IMAP server DO NOT appear in iPhone Inbox.
Firstly, if anyone's mail works any other way I'd please let me know!
Secondly, I cannot find any settings to affect this, or anything on the net that state why this should happen or what is making the client behave differently.

Since the mailbox is new and less than a week old, this may be caused by using a script outside of Mail to delete messages from this mailbox since I haven't experienced the same with any of my mailboxes under Tiger Mail.
It is a good idea to use the Rebuild Mailbox function on the most active mailboxes on a regular basis but I do so on a monthly or every couple of weeks basis depending on activity.

GoDaddy IMAP automatically deleting/disappearing emails from Inbox, solved!

We're running a unibody Macbook 13" with Mac OS X 10.5.8, all patches, and Apple Mail 3.6.
When we moved from Earthlink POP to GoDaddy IMAP, we almost immediately started losing emails from the Inbox. They would literally disappear before our eyes.
We checked online, found others with the same problem, and no actual fixes (some workarounds, such as switching to GoDaddy Exchange email).
I called GoDaddy for help today. Aside from the usual run-down: Are you sure it isn't configured as POP? Did you check that any other devices aren't getting the emails as POP?, we finally got a new solution I hadn't heard before:
Turn off Auto Purging.
If you log into GoDaddy Webmail, right-click on the Inbox, and click Auto-Purging, a little setting pane comes up.
If Auto Purging is already turned off, turn it off again anyway, and make sure the little pop-up confirming the setting has been saved comes up in the bottom right corner.
This seems to have fixed the problem. We've gone for about an hour now without the emails disappearing.
What's more, I got lucky and found that the emails had been thrown into the Trash by the Auto Purge feature, so I could retrieve them (some of them disappeared before Time Machine could back them up).
One important possibility: I discovered that I had mapped the Trash folder to Deleted Messages and not to GoDaddy's Trash folder. So I set this to point to GoDaddy's Trash thinking that this might help. It MIGHT have been what fixed the problem, but it's not likely.
A few other notes to help you guys:
1) We weren't losing emails from any IMAP folder except the Inbox.
2) I tried setting the IMAP folder path to / but that broke the subfolders.
3) After turning off the Auto-Purge and dragging the deleted emails back into the Inbox from the Trash (using Apple Mail to do so), there were duplicates of these emails in the GoDaddy Webmail Inbox that did not show in the Apple Mail Inbox.
4) Using other mail clients like Thunderbird didn't help. The iPad and iPhone would eventually lose the emails too as everything sync'd up with the server.

I've had the same problem... As with MOST of the e-mail problems with the PRE the best solution is to delete the account and reload it... I've had to delete and add my account twice!!!
PALM better fix the e-mail functions or a lot of people (my self included) will get real fed up deleting and adding the account every two weeks...

My email account in Mail.app is IMAP, but when I delete emails, they don't delete from other devices connected to the mail server with IMAP. Deleted mail on other devices delete as normal from the server and thus from other devices as normal.

MacBook Pro, late 2011 version. Up to date Mountain Lion.
My email account in the Mail.app is set up as IMAP, but when I delete emails in the Mac Mail App, they are not deleted from the mail clients of the other devices that are connected to the mail server with IMAP. IMAP works perfectly between Windows Outlook 2010, iPad Mail App and Android default mail client. Deleted messages behave correctly, as in delete from one device and the mail is deleted from all devices.
Having just tested in reverse order on the Mac; emails deleted from the email client on Windows, iPad and Android are not deleted in the Mac Mail App. It appears that the account is behaving like POP rather than IMAP.
Any advice on how to have IMAP work correctly on the MacBook Pro Mail.app?

Hi Csound1, thanks. The email host is 1and1.co.uk, however, i am going to fess up and make myself look like a plonker now -
the email account in question was set up in Outlook as POP - stupid, stupid, stupid me, wasted an afternoon on this! I have now changed the Outlook account to IMAP and Mail.app works perfectly - and looks much nicer than Outlook did. Im in the middle of converting from Windows to a Mac, and still finding my way around the Mac
The lesson learned, never assume - always double check! All my other email addresses with 1and1 are all imap, except this one, and it happened to be the first one I set up in the Mail.app. (bows head in disgrace!)

Not able to Close PO or Mark deleted

I have to close a PO but system doesnt allow to close it or mark the line Item as Deleted. The reason for the error is IR value is more than GR value. We dont have GR based IV.
How can I close the PO.

Hi,
If there is difference in GR/IR it will not allow to delete the PO if IR is pending or More IR.
You can do post the difference in GR/IR.Using MR11 then it will be balance between GR/IR.
Once tis equal then you can delete the PO. by selecting the line item and set deletion button.

N97 messages get deleted on phone shut down

Hi!
I am having a problem with messages stored on the Mass Memory of my Nokia N97. Each time I switch the phone off or change the memory in use, all the messages stored on my mass memory - inbox, drafts, sent, and email - are deleted. Each time, I have to set-up my yahoo email account all over again. However, this does not happen to the messages on the Phone Memory. My requests are these:
1. Does anyone know how to ensure that each time I switch the phone off, my messages will still be intact?
2. How can I retrieve all the messages I had lost from the Mass Memory.

Is that data saved in a Flash cookie or in a normal cookie or as a file on your computer?
Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear cookies.

DM mark deletion impossible?

I have a DSO -> IC scenario. I had to delete a request from the CUBE in order to be able to delete the DM mark in DSO and upload the same request again to the CUBE. So, i deleted the request from my CUBE but when i go the request in DSO and click the DM mark in order to delete it, there is nos "Garbage can" symbol there, so i can't delete ans thus i can't upload it again to my CUBE!!
Any ideas why the "Garbage can" symbols is not there?

Please try deleting the DM symbol through tables RSDMDELTA & RSBODSLOGSTATE.
1. Set the request's QM status in all your data targets to red and then delete all of them. This will cause a repeat delta load in the following steps.
2. Open table RSDMDELTA via SE16. Here is where you will find the successful DataMarted request. Delete the request that contains the bad data.
3. Open table RSBODSLOGSTATE and change fields 'Max. delta slice that was extracted by all receivers' and 'Max. delta slice extracted until now' to the latest right request number.
Once DM symbol is gone, try reloading.

IMAP client, delete mail problems

Hello all,
I am on GW2012 and for a while now I have been having this problem.
Anyone, whether using Apple, Android or any other device/client, that connects to the 2012 GWIA to check mail, if they delete a piece of mail, it is simply striked through and not deleted. It will look deleted on the IMAP client/device, but when one looks at the full client or web client, the email that should have been deleted only has a strike all the way through it. It never deleted until it gets deleted in the full or web client.
Is there a setting somewhere in GroupWise that is causing this to happen?

Events in Table Maintenence-for marking Deletion Flg when deleting frm SM30

Hi All,
I am tring to create a table maintenence.
In my table we have a field Deletion flag....
and as user hit delete in SM30 ..the record should not get delete ..but should mark the Deletion flag...
I am tring to use Events in the maintenence but didnt find this functionality..
Please suggest....
I dont want to use module program...

Imap email deletion on E61i

I've just got my new E61i, and it's working rather nicely.
However i have a strange problem. When i delete an email from my Imap inbox (using my PC), it does not get deleted on my e61i.
The only time this happens is when i delete an email on my e61i, then it seems to wake up and delete all of the other emails which have already been removed from my imap inbox.
Is this normal?

As far as I know, the emails in the inbox of E61i would not be deleted remotely. So it has to be done locally in the device.
It means that when you delete the emails on the PC inbox, the emails would remains in the E61i until next mail update.
But if you deleted the emails from your device, you can choose whether you would delete only on device or also delete it from the server.
I did not really understand about your second message, which is removed from your imap inbox. It should not happen, on my opinion.

IMAP & removing deleted items

I've got my email account setup using IMAP and double checked my settings to make sure deleted items were NEVER removed from the server, yet my Trash email folder will only show 15 days worth of emails. I logged on to my webmail server and there's only 15 days of email in that Trash folder too.
Could my email host be removing these messages automatcially or am I missing something in Mail? I've sent a support request to my email host, so we'll see what they say, I suppose.

It's not that I never want my deleted emails removed, I just use my Trash mailbox as sort of a holding cell for 45 days, then I remove anything older than that and archive them. And the only reason for wanting to leave a copy on the server is because I use 2 different computers to check the account (work computer and my laptop). Using the trash as by "holding cell" is only cause it's so quick to hit the delete key to remove an email from my inbox without having to drag the message to a special folder. And leaving them for around 45 days still allows me to Spotlight search for a message just in case.
Still no word back yet from my email host, I'll post back with their response.

IMAP email deleted on desktop remains in iPhone inbox

Seems like people are seeing a variety of email problems with the new iOS 4. I flipped through the first 6 pages or so of topics and did not see my particular issue.
I am using my university IMAP email service. If I read and delete email using the Apple Mail client on Mac OS 10.6.4, it still remains in my iPhone inbox, showing as unread. I am using iOS 4 on the iPhone 4. I also have an iPad, and using the same mail settings, the iPad inbox syncs fine with the IMAP server. On my previous iPhone 3G, everything worked fine. I did notice similar behavior with the 3G after my iOS 4 update, but I sold that phone soon after, so I wasn't able to test this fully.
I have tried killing the Mail background process, restarting the phone, hitting "load more messages" on my iPhone, refeshing in the inbox, deleting the mail account and re-entering manually, syncing the mail account from my Mac or entering the info manually on the phone. Nothing has resolved my issue.
Interestingly, I also use another IMAP client as well, from FastMail.fm, and I do not notice the problem here. Maybe the bug only manifests itself with certain mail server software.
Anyhow, it looks like another mail bug in the new iOS. Anybody else noticing a similar issue?

they are not blank emails, they just look blank. I just got hit by this yesterday accidentally clicked on am email sent 12/31/1969 and its been a bain. It vanished but later I found it lurking in my drafts folder of my 3G iPhone updated with 4.1OS. It changes dates when you try to delete it. And in one case, it changed its message to show the first line of javascript code. It's installing something or trying to. First line reads $(window).load(function() {2 3 initial... so I assume its starting some initialization process and that its malware.
I am using gmail. Computers seem fine, iPhone is weird. I changed passwords to something the iPhone wouldn't know. I did so on two different computers. And that seemed to stop everything. Ok, it stopped my phones email connection. Till I could figure this out. Or I thought. For last night when on the phone a call got interupted. I called back, no big deal, dropped call, but when I got off the phone I noticed I had an email. Something had come in. It arrived during the minute of that dropped call. It was a nice email announcing the birth of friends first child. Wonderful news. But it shouldn't have shown up on the phone.
Since then I've been to see the Apple Genius' bar, the drafts folder that would not delete, cleared itself out magically before I arrived at Apple, but I have pictures of it and that line of js in my camera. Due to the range of odd behaviors the OS has been reinstalled. Good. Then I restored my phone to a backup version. Fine. And now, with right password set up, it intermittently tells me it does not recognize the password and then try again and its all good and then its not. Some folders update with the time stamp, others don't. I can send but I have not received in the 50 minutes even tho I've sent myself test emails from other devices. Also noticed, I cannot deselect my drafts folder, nor that it is backed up on some other server. Is this normal?
What is this thing and how can I kill it?
But, whatever it is, its not blank, it just looks blank.
Open to suggestions / insights. Would prefer not to completely rebuild from scratch.

I dont think there is any Mark to deletion is applicable in UOM
Go to Tcode : CUNI, select the UOM and delete it....
Pl Not : Make sure that no one is using the UOM, otherwise, it wil give inconsistency error
