N97 Mini Start Up Problem

Apparently after rebooting my phone, my N97 Mini does not start up, instead, it shows a white screen with the word "NOKIA" and it's stuck there forever.
Googled the issues and I am not the only one who faces this problem, but the thing is, people cannot seem to find any solutions to this, I was hoping to get assistance over here. True enough I can bring my cellphone to the nearest Nokia Care Center, but how many times do I have to face this? And I'm lucky to have a spare phone with me, otherwise, travelling is going to be a problem for me because my phone is my essential.
Anybody has any solution to this?

I've encountered "stucked forever with white screen Nokia logo" problem for more than 5 times since I bought Nokia Mini for one month.It's really frustrating in the beginning. I know this will randomly happen. Well, it just happened again 2 days ago.
Here is my quick fix to undermine the impact.
1. Bought a 8GB SDHC card for mini.
2. Put all my favourite softwares' SIGNED sources (*.sisx) in SD card (F: drive in File manger).
3. Randomly backup Setting, Message, Contacts, Calendar in SD card.
I don't backup "Files" since I don't know what kind of files it backups and sometimes those files are large.
4.1 If the mini DEAD again(freezes at NOKIA booting logo), then Hard-Reset the N97 mini.
4 2 Go to backup Fucntion to restore your previous backups. (i.e. Setting, Message, Contacts, Calendar)
4.3 Go to File Manager and install your favourite softwares again from the SD card.
To install softwares directly from SD card is much faster and easier then from PC/Laptop.
Especially, when mini dead on the go or during the trip, you won't be worried about NO PC besides you.
ps. I don't put softwares and backups in Mass Memory because I may format it when needed.
Although "Crash" thing is still bothering sometimes, the quick fix makes me feel better(safe !?) and I still love using Mini.

N97 Mini Flash Lite Problem

Hey Guys, what happened with me maybe a minor issue but i wanna know how to solve it.
Here's what happened with my N97 mini: I had the flash lite 3.0 installed, so I downloaded The flash lite 3.1(4) from a link i found on Google. Now, when I go to youtube.com on the default symbian browser, I get the first "frame" of the video with sound but without the video; only first "frame" of the video appears. When I tap on the video for Fullscreen the web browser closes by itself and it shows to the homescreen, and something really weird happens: when i hide the widgets and show them again, it does it like i have the theme effects off.. but when i go to theme settings, its actually theme effects on. And it doesnt do the effects again untill i turn my phone off and then turn it on.
On the other hand, I guess this flash lite issue is causing a problem on video playback in realplayer. When I record a video with the camera and play it back, it does it without any problem and the file format is MP4. Though, when i send an MP4 video from my pc to the phone, the playback shows no picture.. just the sound.
Im sorry If I said too much, but i said everything that happened because i wanna know if its really the flash lite's problem.. or its something else?
And either way, whats the solution!? Please Guys I need ur help

A software update shouldn't cause a problem as the phone has data protection, just to be safe back up your contacts, but the phone should be fine anyway, simply re-install the software with Nokia Software Updater, and hoprfuly it will resolve your problem, if not , contact a Nokia Care Point, whatever the case , the phone definitely won't be any worse for a software install.

N97 mini music player problem

i dont know whats going on but yesterday i was transfering new songs to the phone then suddenly the screen turns black and the phone dead. i took out the battery and restart again but all songs inside the phone gone and i cant transfer any songs now. its shows in the hard drive that still have 700 songs but it says no songs when i pressed on the music player? i tried restarting many times but no use. anyone know how to solve this problem?

This same problem is with my n97 mini but not with the music player since I\ve never tried using it. It happens with me when I sometimes open my images or other stuff, the screen goes black and than it restarts itself or it shuts down. Even my WLAN is not working properly ( may something wrong in the settings. Anyways did you tried to update your music playlist on phone?
I think whenever you transfer songs, you will to update the playlist.

N97 mini key lock problem

I couldn´t find a topic related to my question,
so here´s my post:
I´ve got a little problem with my N97 mini
(type "RM-555" software-version: "11.0.102"):
The key lock button at the side of the phone
does not work properly in my eyes.
Sometimes - yes, it does not show up every
time you use it, only in about 50 % of usage -
when you use the button it works "back and
forth". That means, if you wanna lock the phone
it gets locked and then directly unlocked again,
although the button has only been used once.
Same thing sometimes the other way round:
The phone is locked, the button is used, the
phone unlocks and directely locks itself again.
It is not the worst bug I can imagine but after
a while it is quite annoying.
Does anyone have an idea what this is all
about? Do you think it is more likely some
hardware defect or rather more a software
bug?

Then if you want to try everthing before going to nokia, first try reset *#7370# , backup your data first. Still no success? Reflash with same firmware version via NSU. (back up your data in both cases)

N97 Mini Memory Card Problem

I've been having a problem with my N97 Mini since installing a SanDisk 16Gb Memory Card.
When switching on the phone it quite often reboots. It will then work fine.
I also get 'memory full' or 'security module' errors. I can fix the issue by rebooting or ejecting the memory card in the file manager (even though I don't need to physically remove the memory card).
If I remove the memory card it works fine and I can't reproduce the errors.
I tried reformatting the card but it hasn't helped; even though it's blank.
Could it be a problem with the phone hardware, the memory card or the firmware (I'm running v11 on vf uk)?

N97 Mini Having Video Problem w

I am having N97 Min recently I have updated the firmware to V 11. 0 . After that the video is not playing.
The Video is getting stuck in between but the audio is running.
I have tried Hard Reset also but still the problem persists.
Any advice .....

Mac Mini Start Up problem?

I am having a start up problem with my powerpc mac mini which runs on max os x 10.4.11. About a week ago there was one day where it would not power on at all so I waited a day and it turned on again and was fine again. However today, when I connected a new WD hard drive to back-up my files, the computer froze. I assumed that was normal since this has happened every now again, I guess its because it doesn't have a lot of RAM. So i had to turn it off by holding down the power button at the back. I removed the hard drive then turned the mac mini on again but now all I see is a flashing folder which alternates between something that looks like finder and a question mark. According to those people, it means that the mac mini doesn't have an operating system installed but that is impossible for me since i've been using this mac mini for 7 years. I've tried starting up in safe mode but that won't work. When I try to start up using the start up menu, I see no hard drive icon to select. All i see in this menu is an arrow that resembles the "undo" arrow in word and an arrow pointing to the right. I haven't tried re-installing the software that came with the mac since that might (or will) erase all my files.
So any ideas on what could be wrong? Has my mac mini given out because it's old? Is there something wrong with the hard drive? Thanks in advance for your answers.

The drive is either dead, dying, or having severe problems.
See if Disk Utility sees it at all.
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Nokia N97 Mini Outlook meeting problems

Hello,
On my old HTC windowsphone when i got invite to a meeting in outlook i could see on my phone what ppl are also invited / are joining the meeting. For some reason i cant find this on my new N97 Mini. Is this not supported by this phone or is there a way to enable it?

AFAIK the calendar on the mini is exactly the same as on other Symbian devices, so that means there is no field for invited people in it. I am not aware of any alternative calendar apps that have what you need.
The inherent difference from your old phone is that WIndowsMobile phones have Mobile Office which includes a Mobile version of Outlook, which contains a lot of the exact same functionalities as the PC version of Outlook. Only WindowsMobile phones have this kind of exact emulation of PC applications. Sad to say though that Windows Mobile Office is yet to be released for Nokia phones. There has been an agreement between Nokia and Microsoft more than a year ago but it still hasnt come into fruitition.
If the feature is extremely important to you, you might want to consider swapping your phone (if your retailer would allow it) to a Samsung B7610 or a Sony Xperia 2 as both runs Windows Mobile and would have Outlook Mobile as well.
Otherwise, I have no knowledge of any possibility of activating the feature in question.

New Intel Mac Mini Start-up Problems

I've recently purchased a new Intel Mac Mini (my first Mac after switching from a PC). Several times (probably once a day), the mac mini won't start-up.
I've noticed it happens after I've used iPhoto or iDVD. The mini becomes busy and performance seems to slow. After the software has finished its task, I can exit the application fine and shut down the mini.
When I then go to boot the mini, the little blue light comes up, but nothing else happens. It's almost as though it's in sleep mode (which it isn't). I've tried different ways to wake it using the keyboard, mouse and start button, but nothing.
The Mac Mini will only start-up again if it is unplugged from the mains and left for several minutes.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there something I'm doing wrong that my lack of Mac knowledge may not be aware of?

I have been frustrated by the same issue. My (admittedly non-professional) diagnosis is that the problem is related to heat build up. I am able to boot normally only after forcing a hard shut down and waiting for "a while" (5 minutes is not enough, 30 minutes does the trick). Thus my hypothesis that an appropriate cooling down period is needed.
Any similar thoughts? I'm calling Apple today...

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
If that doesn't help Reinstall the OS.

(G4) Mini Start-up Problem

I bought my Mini in August of 2005 just before the Intel Macs were released. It was runnning perfectly fine until I found it locked up one day. I could not get it to respond at all, and I had just come home from work, so it could have been like that for hours. I did a forced shut down (Holding down the power button). It shut down and then I powered it back up. When I did, it went to the gray loading screen (With the spinning gear) and it just hangs there. After 20 minutes or so it will load a blue desktop, but no finder or anything else. I can move the mouse around, and thats it.
Its been two weeks of working on it on/off, this has been my first real experience in trying to fix a Mac, I have worked on countless PCs. I have done all the RAM resets I tried running the Disk Utilities on the OSX CD and got it to run once, I got the disk repair to run, and it found an error in the startup and repaired it, but now it just freezes when I try to load the CD. I have since purchased a MacBook partly because I wanted one anyway, but it was out of need for a new computer. I have tried to use target Disk Mode but when I click to open the disk, it just hangs trying to load it.
The only conclusions that I can come to are hardware problems. The things on my list of problems would be, A (Very) Scratched Hard Disk, Hard Disk failure, or some type of Memory Problem. Though the later seems less likely.
I don't know what to do. I have a couple years worth of Photos I would very much like to get off of the Mini, if anyone can offer any help it would be appreciated. Also, for not having Owned the computer for two years yet, SHOULD THERE BE SUCH MASSIVE HARDWARE FAILURE?

Sorry to hear about your system. Not clear from your post, have you reset the PMU and PRAM: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300574
Have you tried rebooting holding the shift key down? This is a safe boot, it does some disk maintenance and doesn't start any login items, amongst other things. Does that work? If it does, try rebooting normally.
If the hard drive is OK, with a logic board issue, you should be able to pull the hard drive out of your mini, mount it in an enclosure, then pull the photo's off to your new MacBook. If, however, it's a hard drive issue, you can have a service recover the hard drive contents, however, be forewarned they are pricey.
These things happen sometimes. I bought my PPC mini in January 2006, and it's been working fine since then. Backing up on a regular basis is important....you might consider one of the backup drives OWC sells at http://www.macsales.com, or from some other vendor, as you go forward.

N 97 mini start up problem

i just turn on my blue tooth and then was just about to receive a file then my mobile screen goes white then what i do is remove the battery then i try to turn it on millions times but it wont turn on
can any body hep me i have read blogs it says try shift+space +backspace+power button but it wont work for me i also tried to remove my battery for 3 to 4 hrs and then try to start it agian but nothing comes on screnn its dnt event vibrate can any body help me what to do?

Just try connecting to charger, when the battery meter starts to show, hold the power button untill the phone starts, I've heard this can work, if not I appologise. Also on 3 finger reset did you hold all the buttons untill the wake up screen showed and you were asked to select your location ? People sometimes release the buttons too soon !

N97 min Ovi maps problem

Can not connect to the Internet in ovi maps, constant error message.
Common Internet works fine without any problems,

I have a N6303 classic. Using PC Suite and Map Loader I managed to upload the UK maps to my 6303 just after last Christmas. For some crazy reason 2 days ago I downloaded and installed Nokia Ovi Suite and allowed it to update my phone – quite unnecessarily, but it looked like a good idea at the time! The backup failed. It lost various settings, but I was able to reset them. Also it allowed me to download via my PC a selection of maps and load them on to my phone. I then found that the memory card was too full and I wanted to remove some of them...I found I was unable to do this in Ovi Maps, and got the same error message that I lacked an internet connection. (I have broadband, which works fine.) However, PC Suite allowed me to delete all the maps, freeing up some space. Now, neither Ovi Suite nor PC Suite will allow me to connect to the internet via my PC to download, you’ve guessed it, the maps of the UK. The only route seems to be to connect to the internet via my mobile, which I have no need to do and will simply waste money. The maps would be nice to have but aren’t essential and I have absolutely no use for the 6303 as a SatNav, but it is frustrating not to be able to take advantage of what seemed a useful little add-on, having an A-Z of the whole of the UK available for emergency use.

N97 Mini missed call problems

Whenever I miss a call on my phone I get sent a text message, is it possible to turn this service off and if so, how do I do it?

Are you sure it shows this when you miss a call ? or it is displayed when you are receiving the call ?

If you have the same.. Go to Menu-->Settings-->Calling-->Call-->Reject Call with Message..set to NO.

Hi, try this method... but be aware that procedure will format your C drive and E drive.
If you’re unfortunate enough to encounter a problem on your Nokia N97, a hard reset maybe what you need to do. This wipes the entire phone memory and settings fresh to how it was (or should be) when you bought it. It’s also useful if you’re also unfortunate enough to have to send away your Nokia N97 for repair or exchange, or maybe in future you maybe selling it and don’t want your information/details/media stored onto your device for someone else to access.
The traditional method won’t work as the N97 doesn’t have the old keypad. After you’ve backed up your data onto memory card/pc/ovi, turn your phone off and simultaneously press these four buttons circled in red.
Caps shift
Space bar
Delete button
On button
