Navbar import

Exporting a navbar from Fireworks 8 and then importing it in
Dreamweaver 8 with 'Insert Fireworks HTML' ignores my selected
insertion point and also overwrites all the page header info (meta,
title etc). Exporting / importing via the clipboard using the same
insertion point works sensibly.
Anyone know a workaround (or am I just doing it wrong) ? I
could continue to use the clipboard except that hiving off of
images into a separate folder is not supported.

  • Update links in file created based on the template page

    Hello everyone:
    a) I have problems when update links in files crated based on
    a template page.
    I read Dreamwaver (DW) help menu. Seems to me Dreamwaver is
    smart enough to update links based on correct file structure.
    I created a template file based on a sample page. Template
    file saved to the template folder. Then I crated few pages based on
    the template. I checked links in new files and found that link
    structures are based on template folder, not based on files current
    folder position.
    Please give me some suggestions on how to correct this
    problem. If you know some good online tutorial or documentations
    please share with me.
    b) Can DW template update Navigation bar links correctly
    based on relative document path?
    I have Navbars imported from Fireworks into DW. Files crated
    based on template are not updating pop-up menu links correctly. I
    manually updated every links. It is time consuming and

    This means that you are entering the links manually, not
    using the Property
    inspector and browsing to the target file. You should do it
    this way until
    you understand how templates work. All links in a template
    file should
    (usually) be one of three kinds -
    1. Document relative BASED ON THE TEMPLATE, e.g.,
    <a href="../whatever....
    2. Root relative, e.g.,
    <a href="/whatever....
    3. Absolute, e.g.,
    <a href=''
    http://www.example.com/whatever....
    Anything else will always result in the Template folder being
    placed in the
    path for the link when you create a child page.

    Yes, of course.

    This could easily be one of your problems. Those menus are
    definitely
    broken and should never be used.

  • Editing exported navbar

    Hi,
    I've created a .png nav bar, with pop-down menus, which I
    want to use across my website. I've exported it to an html page in
    dreamweaver, and it all works fine. However, I'd also like to be
    able to edit the original .png in a way that changes it for every
    page it's on. Changing the colour of the buttons etc in fireworks
    automatically updates in dreamweaver, but I can't seem to change
    the pop-down menus or behaviour of the buttons without having to
    delete the imported html in dreamweaver, and reapplying it to the
    page.
    Can anybody advise a better way? The idea is not to have to
    fiddle with every page on the site every time I want to make a
    navbar edit!
    Thanks :)

    The best way to accomplish it is to wait until you are
    finished with the
    pages, and sure you don't need to make any changes, before
    exporting and
    adding the navbar.

  • FW HTML not importing correctly into DW

    Hello,
    I have made a navbar in FW and exported it following some tutorials I've watched.  I have imported it into some of the pages on my site in DW and the import works fine.  However, on a number of other pages, I insert my cursor in the "topnav" div and when I import it, the table goes straight to the top of the code and when I refresh the CSS, all my styles from before disappear and becomes a blank white page.  I think it may have something to do with my stylesheet because the other pages that it does work properly on is a different stylesheet, but I cannot figure out where the issue is.
    I have attached code below.  The first section is what it looks like when I try to import the navbar into the topnav div.  The second section is the code for the stylesheet that goes along with it.  And third, is the CSS code for the one that works correctly.
    I appreciate any help given.  Thanks!

    With this problem, it would be better to give us a link to an online web page. It's easier to spot the problem than to wade through a lot of code and you would have better success in getting others in the forum to help.
    One problem that sticks out is that you imported the code generated by FW into the head section of your document. It should be in the body section. That problem should be obvious to you if you know a little about markup and can recognize javascript. I mention this because if you don't know what you're doing, then importing FW images and code into DW can be very confusing. It might be easier for you to work on the Dreamweaver side and find a good tutorial about building a menu in DW. Most web designers will tell you that it's not a good idea to use code generated by Fireworks although it can work.
    Let me make two points. First, if some of your pages are working okay (you said the import worked for some pages), then use a page that is working to override a page that is not working by doing a Save As and then do a little editing if necessary.
    Second, if your styles are not working in your page, you probably have a link problem. In the markup you provided, I don't see a link to your css stylesheet on your web page. But, again, if you do a Save As using a page that works, this problem should be solved by acting on the advice of the first point.

  • Solution Import Failed

    I am trying to import a managed solution in a CRM, but following error occurs:
    The solution cannot be imported because the queue entity contains a Ribbon definition, which is not supported for that entity. Remove the RibbonDiffXml node from the entity definition and try to import again
    When I import the solution it doesn't give any error and completes the whole process, but at the end of import the whole import role backs and above mentioned error occurs.
    Following is the screenshot of the error:
    and following is the error message in log file:
    Following above error message, I have made change in customizations.xml file and removed the <RibbonDiffXml> tag and then re-produced the solution. But this time I got a different error related to Dependency Calculation, screenshot is as follows:
    Log in above case doesn't give any specific error, it just give a general error saying that error occurred.
    In both cases the solution import completed but in the end import got rolled back.
    Kindly help with this issue, it is very critical.

    Thank you Saad.

  • Change to Navbar Template Results in Navbar Entries Not Being Generated

    Hello all,
    Running v3.2, created a theme based on Theme 13 and user asked to have the navbar entries appear a little bigger and bolded. The original navbar entry template for theme 13 is:
    <a href="#LINK#" class="t13NavLink">#TEXT#</a>I changed it to:
    <a href="#LINK#" class="t13NavLink"><style type="text/css">a.t13NavLink {font-size:11px;font-weight:bold;}</style>#TEXT#</a>This appears fine in the existing application, however, I made this theme into a Workspace Theme and tried to generate an application using it. For some reason, the navbar entry for "Logout" no longer gets generated automatically. I'm no expert in CSS so I'm not sure if what I did above is best, but does anyone know why the application wizard would actually not generate something because of what is in the template being used?
    Thanks all!
    John

    There seems to be something going on with using Workspace Themes in general to create new applications. To try to eliminate my theme as a possibility,
    1) I created an application using the built-in Theme 13. The Logout link on page 1 shows as expected.
    2) I made Theme 13 into a Workspace Theme.
    3) I created an application using the new Workspace Theme (which is just Theme 13 made into a Workspace Theme). The Logout link is not generated. Not for the initial page 1 or for any other pages I create in the application.
    For now I'm just going to pretend the Workspace Theme feature doesn't exist. I'll create all new applications with Theme 13, import my custom theme, switch to it, and delete Theme 13 from the application.
    If anyone would like to give the above a try (my version is 3.2.1.00.12), I'd be curious to hear if I'm the only one seeing this for some reason.
    Thanks again,
    John

  • Import SWF to FLA file

    SWF files created from Camtasia, when imported to Flash 8,
    show red rectangles on some frames. What causes this and can it be
    fixed?

    I doubt there is a video for anything this basic, but you can try searching.  I recommend practicing in a copy of the file you intend to place them in so that you don't lose that file due to a learning curve.
    If you open the fla's of your navbar, etc, you want copy the timeline.  So you select all the layers and frames of the main timeline, right click the selection and choose Copy Frames.  Then, in the destination file you should create a new movieclip symbol.  Select the first frame of the new symbol, right click and select Paste Frames.  All of the layers and frames that you copied should appear in the timeline.
    If you happen to have library symbols with the same names in the different files you'll be combining, that could cause a problem as it will prompt you as to whether you want to replace one with the other.  So it is best to rename any such symbols before copying them.

  • Fireworks Navbar Not Previewing Correctly

    Hi,
    I am building a website locally and have created a navbar in Fireworks. When I import the fireworks html into Dreamweaver it displays fine, however when I preview the page in Explorer there is a small strip (probably 2 or 3px) running across the length of the top of the banner. When I preview in Firefox however the strip doesn't show up. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem, and if it is likely to show up when the page goes live?
    Cheers!

    Hi Linda - Thanks for taking the time to respond, unfortunately this was
    not the problem.
    Any other ideas?

  • .swf navbar does not appear if there is another .swf in the webpage

    I have made a .swf drop down nav bar and it works for my pages with only images and text -- it appears.  But for the pages that I have a .swf slideshow, it doesn't even appear.  I have already used the z-index and the wmode parameters (it works for the pages with images) but not on the one that has the .swf slideshow.  Can you please help?  I've scoured the web already but couldn't find someone with a similar situation as me.  Here are the links.
    This is the one that works:http://www.butterflyphotography.ca/temp2.html
    Then I go to my portfolio slideshow and the navbar disapears: http://www.butterflyphotography.ca/Portfolio/Glamorize/glamorize.html
    I read somewhere that it could be the way I've inserted the slideshow?  I basically just used the Insert > Media > Flash command in Dreamweaver and here's the code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase','http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0','wid th','1000','height','550','class','flashvideo','title','Vancouver wedding photographer','src','loader','quality','high','pluginspage','http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash','wmod e','opaque','movie','loader' ); //end AC code
    </script><noscript><object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0" width="1000" height="550" class="flashvideo" title="Vancouver wedding photographer">
            <param name="movie" value="loader.swf" />
            <param name="quality" value="high" />
            <param name="wmode" value="opaque" />
    <embed src="loader.swf" width="1000" height="550" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="opaque"></embed>
          </object>
    </noscript>
    And here's the CSS:
    #main_image {
    height: 550px;
    width: 1000px;
    margin: auto;
    top: 85px;
    border: 1px solid #F06698;
    position: absolute;
    z-index: 1;
    #nav_bar {
    height: 100px;
    width: 1000px;
    position: absolute;
    z-index: 50;
    top: 0px;
    visibility: visible;
    overflow: visible;
    I'm sorry, I'm a total newbie at this.  I appreciate any help you can give me.  Thank you so much!

    Greetings Pheona,
    That appears to be a hard drive based camecorder.  Usually these mount on the desktop of your computer as a little white hard drive icon.  If you go inside you should be able to find the movie files the camera is saving.  See what format they are (the last 3 letters at the end of the file name is a good place to start).
    You can drag the movie files from the camera hard drive to the computer to copy them.  Then convert them with a video file conversion program to a format iMovie can understand.
    Try converting one of the files using a video file conversion program like Video Monkey: http://videomonkey.org/downloads/
    In the "Convert to" drop down menu choose "DV" (Preferred), "Quicktime", or "MP4".  Then import the resulting file into iMovie and see if that works any better.
    If that program can't convert the files you can try another file conversion program:

    http://shedworx.com/voltaichd

    Hope that helps.

  • Changing styles, removing background in navbar

    I'm stumped…
    I've customized an iWeb theme (Elegant) and want to use the navbar provided at the top of the page but would like to change the font, capitalization (not all caps), and, most importantly, remove the iWeb-provided background and add my own.
    But the box in which the navbar appears seems impervious to any change other than being resized, or, of course, deleted with the Inspector. The navbar box only has horizontal handles and nothing within can be selected, even with the links deactivated. I've scoured the Inspector and messed with it for hours but nothing works. Does anyone know have any ideas about what to do?
    Thanks,
    Christopher

    That is because the nav bar supplied with the page templates cannot be changed as you have found, other than re-sizing, moving around and hiding with the use of the Inspector.
    It is a javascript based nav bar, so if you want anything different on your site, you need to hide it and build your own text based nav bar using text boxes and shapes and you can place this wherever you want to on your site - top, bottom, sides or a mixture of both and don't forget to hyperlink your pages to them.
    The joy of a text based nav bar is that your site will then be found better by search engines - they don't always pick up java and lots of PC's have java turned off so they won't be visible at all.

  • How to Export/Import a Page Group?

    Hi All,
    I'm having problems to export a page group from a dev server to a production server. What I had done with succesfull:
    - I created the transport set table in dev server by clicking on Export link under page group;
    - I executed the script and generated the dump file without warnings;
    - I executed the import script in the production server without warnings;
    When I will Import the transport table to my production server via Oracle Portal Interface, the status of the page group is Fail. Why?
    I created the user groups before, that are the same of the dev instance.
    Note: In my production instance there is no page group. It is my first export/import of this page group.
    What steps I need to do? Am I do anything wrong?
    Best regards,
    JV.

  • Fireworks Navbar Update All?

    Hi,
    I have produced a navbar in Fireworks and imported into Dreamweaver. Lets say I make a change to the navbar in Fireworks, save and export again will Dreamweaver automatically update the Navbar (Similar to update links in Indesign) or will I have to go through and re-insert the navbar onto every page?
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the response.
    This will mean I will have to go through and update every page, doh! You would think that it would just automatically update!?
    If Adobe invested in the Fireworks menus sure.  But even Fireworks enthusiasts will tell you the code generated was not the best.  Adobe invested in Spry which has turned out to be better.  The version 1.6 that is in DW and the version 2.0 (also called Spry UI) in the Widget browser code is light years beyond the Fireworks Javascript, plus those are compatible with mobile devices whereas the Fireworks ones do not degrade as nicely.

  • Filename in import statement

    Hi srinivas bobbala,
    Thank you for your response.But I think my quesition was not clear.My ques... is for suppose there is one datafile for importing like.. "datafile_21" Here my intention is it takes file from datafile_21 only but it appears in import statement like datafile_21<<curmon>>.
    import database sample.sample data from data_file "c:\\ABC\datafile_21_AUG.txt" using server rules_file datafile on error abort;
    In this it takes datafile from datafile_21.But it appears like datafile_21_AUG in import statement.This AUG coming from batch file.
    Essmsh c:\\ABC\loadmxl.mxl %curmon%

    No it is not possible.
    I assume the data file "datafile_21" is first renamed to datafile_21_${CurrMth} in the batchscript.
    After that this data file *datafile_21_${CurrMth}* is pointed in the import statement.
    In the logs you will see this file as datafile_21_Aug.

  • Can not refresh snapshot changes after importing data of master site

    Hello !
    I have two database computer,one as master site,one as snapshot site.Because the error of the hard disk of master computer,I use the exporting data file to recover my database.after importing ,I found I can't refresh the refreshgroup on snapshot,who can tell me why?
    thinks in advance!
    (exp system/manager full=y inctype=complete file='/home/save/backdata/xhsdcomp.dat')
    (imp system/manager inctype=system full=Y file='/home/save/backdata/xhsdcomp.dat'
    imp system/manager inctype=restore full=Y file='/home/save/backdata/xhsdcomp.dat')
    null

    You haven't listed the errors that you're receiving when attempting to refresh your refresh group, but if your snapshots are attempting to fast refresh, I suspect it's because the creation timestamp of the snapshot log on the master site is newer than the creation timestamp of the snapshot. In this case you will need to do a complete refresh of the snapshot (or drop and recreate the snapshot) before you will be able to fash refresh it again.
    If this is not the case, please post the errors you are receiving when you attempt to refresh the refresh group.
