Navigation on row and column total in pivot report

Hi All,
I have created a pivot report with 2 dimension columns and one measure and defined row and column total. Now, users wants to have a navigation report on the row/column total so that once he clicks on total value, he can see the detail report. While doing this, he also wants to pass on the 2 dimension column values to detail report.
Is there any workaround for this?

use a formula column/row. use RANK function in that. (e.g. Rank([A], asc) will sort the rows based on column A values in ascending order)
you can use this rank in your heading.
But frankly this is not so easy. You have to do it in a very intelligent way, so that rank gives you column number/row number any how.
Have a try and let see if you find a appropriate solution.

Row and Column Template in Hyperion Reporting

Hi
Whenver I am trying to save a column of a report as a template , it is giving an error :
"The selected columns contain one or more of the items below that cannot be included in templates:
Invalid Input "
I am not sure what does this mean. Though I have already deselected the "Link to Source Object". Can anyone suggest ?

it may also worth cross checking below form doc:
a.If your row and column template contains formulas with external references (for
example, to cells outside of the selected row and column template), you are prompted
to modify those formulas before saving the row or column template.
Note: You can save a row and column template that contains cell formulas, as these can
be discarded. For more information, see step 9.c on page 115.
b. If a secondary database connection was specified within the row and column template,
a dialog box displays prompting you to continue saving the template. If you save the
template, the secondary database connection you specified in the row and column
template is discarded. The primary database connection is then used for the row and
column template.
c. If unsupported properties are found, an Information dialog box presents a list of
properties to discard before saving the template. For example, if the row and column
template contains a cell formula, you can choose to save the template without the
formula or not save the template.

How to customize row and column settings in BI report

Hi SDN,
We have integrated EP702 and BI 704systems and uploaded BI roles into portal. Now i want to personalize BI report settins.
There are 10 columns in BI report, but initially 4 columns are only displayed. But we want to display all the columns initially. I didn't find any option to customize these settings. And variable screen button is displayed when click on Filter link. But we require this button in report itself. Information and Show chars buttons are not available in report.
I am working on BI reports for the first time. Please help me to customize settings.

By default BEx web using a web template called 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN to render the queries. Most clients create a copy of SAP supplied standard web template and customize it to their needs. Most of the changes are what you have described. You can add a new button on the toolbar. Change the Analysis Item properties to control the number of columns.
Once you have a new desired web template, you can set it as your default adhoc-analysis web template in IMG. Look for a node called Report relevant settings. All this setup needs to be done on the BW system. A restart of BI java is required after the customizing settings have been changed.

Suppressing the total row and column in OLAP datagrid

I have created an OLAPDatagrid and everything looks fine
except that I don't want to show the '(All)' row and column in the
grid. Is there a way to suppress them?

Getting Row and Column in ADF RC

I have an ADF RC form with a table control on it. I need to find the row and column of the cell where the user has clicked. I am able to get the row using getSelectedRow() but am not able to get the column of the cell. Could anyone please help?

I need the coordinates. eg. My table is something like this
Country Region City Value1 Value2 Value3 Total
AAAAA BBBBB XXX 10 15 30 55
EEEEE YYY 5 2 15 22
TOTAL 15 17 45 77
etc.
If the user clicks on any cell in the country column he can add countries, if he clicks on any cell in the region column, he can add regions. The behavior changes for value1, value2, value3... if he clicks in any of these columns he can add value4, value5 columns. If he clicks on the actual data, he gets another screen.

Key figures in row and column.

Dear all,
I have a requirement in my BEx query to have to key figures in both the row and column. This is the scenario, I have a formula defined in the row which does a total up and the user would like to see this key figure formula in the column while still maintaining all other key figures in the row. How can this be done?
It seems that once I have a key figure in either the column or row I can only use either one- not both at the same time.

Summing the Rows and Columns in an Array

I am importing a 2-dimensional array of integers.(which is held in a 2-dimensional array)
I need to store the row sums and column sums in separate 1-dimensional arrays.
I can get the integers in and print out a list along with the grand total(sum of all).
But, how do I pass each row's and each column's value in to my sumRow and sumCol methods to get the sum for each row and each column?
Can I do the row and column summing in the same "for" statement where I calculate the "grand total"? Or am I making this more difficult than it is?
Would appreciate any help.

Getting row and column of an array element

Hi,
I have an array of 24 rows and 24 column giving me a total of 576 elements. How do I get the row and column of a particular element in an array in LabView. E.g. If I have to write to element 127 how do I get the column and row in which element 127 is located.

maybe you only need to find the correct "address" of the element in your 2D array?
Use something like this:
Maybe you have to switch Row&Column output according to your numbering scheme...

Localization of CrossTab row and column label Crystal Report RPT file

Dear all,
Does anyone know how to support multiple locale texts (English and French) in CrossTab Row and Column Header labels and grand total labels? Is there a way to parameterize text objects CrossTab in one single Crystal Report RPT file to use some sort of locale resource file containing text string for different languages based on the users of RPT at runtime? The idea is to use one single RPT file to generate report for different locale text for CrossTab Row and Column abels and grand total labels instead of creating RPT files per locale?

Does the database have a column that identifies the language? If it does, then you could create two separate cross-tabs and place them in different sections and conditionally suppress the section depending on the language from the database.
That's the only thing that can be done in my opinion.

Sum calculated rows and columns

I have written a SQL report to count the number of offenses by levels of disciplinary actions. Now I want to total
the counts for the rows and columns. How do I do this? Below is my code. It produces column headings with counts. Ie.

Hi Wildcatgirl,
According to your description, you have used T-SQL to get the counts for different OUTCOME. Now you want to get the total for each OFFENSE and OUTCOME. Right?
In this scenario, since you have already get those counts with T-SQL query, so in your dataset it will have data fields below: OFFENSE, LevelI, LevelII, SUSPEND, TERM. We just need to drag these data fields into a table, add a column at the end of the table
and use expression to sum the counts for different OUTCOME. Then we can add a total for the detail row. We have tested this scenario in our local environment. Here are screenshots for your reference:

Freezing Rows and Columns Question

In a spreadsheet I have Row 1 Frozen as a Header row for descriptions and headings of different columns of expenses
Is it possible to Freeze the very bottom row of all the totals? I am imagine that you could scroll up and down all the rows in between, but always see the decriptions at the Top Header Row and the Totals at the Bottom Row
Is this possible?

Trackpad vs Mouse is just a matter of getting used to using the one you will use.
Your profile indicates OS X v10.8 (Mountain Lion), so this answer applies to Numbers '09.
With a trackpad, start by selecting the columns or rows you want to move. Click any cell to activate the table, then position the pointer over the tab of the first column to be selected. If the pointer changes to a vertical line crossed by a double headed arrow, shift it slightly until it changes bck to the selection pointer (black arrow pointing up and left). Then click and drag across the column Header tabs to select the columns.
When the columns are selected, move the mouse pointer to a position just to the left of the letter labeling the first selected column. With the pointer positioned there, use your thumb to press and hold the mouse button/trackpad down, then use a finger to drag the columns down until they 'detach' from the table. Change the direction of drag to move the detached columns to the location where you want them. When the boundary showing where you want to places the columns changes to a thick blue line, release the mouse button/track pad (lift your thumb, but not your finger) to drop the columns into position.
Rows:
Change:
"vertical line crossed by a double headed arrow" to "horizontal line..."
"Drag across the column tabs..." to "Drag down the row tabs..."
"Drag the columns down until..." to "Drag the rows right until..."
Otherwise the same instructions.

Setup for discoverer table for showing number of Rows and columns of Report

As oracle discoverer report show "Rows 1-25 of"(Total rows) and "Column 1-6 Of"(Total Column).
This total rows and columns information's is not appearing on our reports.
Kindly let us know its setting/setups .

Hmm, what version of Discoverer are you on? Do I understand you correctly that you are able to run a Discoverer report and see this rows and columns information? What software are you running when you do this - Viewer, Plus, or Desktop? Where is this showing up - the top of the report maybe? Or maybe the bottom of the report? The only thing I can think of to handle this is the Page Setup for a workbook, and looking at the Header and Footer sections of that setup. But I am on Discoverer 10.1.2.2 and I don't see anything I can insert on the header/footer that would show this kind of information. Desktop will let you do Page x of y pages (Plus does not), but that is not what you are seeing. You can maybe look at the page setup and see if there is something there not documented in the Discoverer guides.
