NCLOB variable declared used in procedure cannot store more than 33317 characters.
Hi,
I tried to use NCLOB variable to create a procedure dynamically and while constructing the procedure inside NCLOB variable, if more than 33317 characters are put into the variable, then when I try to print this variable, it is not returning anything.
It works till 33317 characters. But not above it.
Is there any way I can overcome this restriction. Thanks in advance.
The iPod shuffle is a music player. The iPods with screens have always been more than that. If the iPod didn't have a calendar, contacts, and notes I wouldn't have considered buying one. Music playing is nice, but I certainly didn't want to carry around multiple devices needlessly. The iPod and a simple cell phone are enough. When the iPhone comes out maybe I'll be down to one device.
As for the Palm, having been a Newton user at the time I was never impressed with anything about Palm except its size. The same people who bought cheap PC's instead of Macs bought cheap Palms instead of Newtons. Quantity rather than quality won out.
Apple learned from that and made the iPod a good size to begin with, otherwise it might have suffered a similar fate.
The only PDA capability the iPod lacks is the ability to edit its content independently of the computer. That would be handy, but it turns out hasn't been a critical need for me. More often than not I need to look something up not change something while away from my office. There is a good side to this though, if I lost the iPod I would not have to worry a bit about losing any Contacts, Calendar events, or Music. Notes though, well that is a different matter, those I backup.
I guess one person's music player is another person's PDA.

Cannot insert more than 4000 characters using PL/SQL SP to LONG columns
I have created a stored procedure which will insert more than 4000 characters in a table having long column.
The stored procedure body is as follows :
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE INSERTTOTEST(P_ZUNIQUEID IN VARCHAR2,P_LONGVAL IN LONG)
AS
BEGIN
insert into CLOBVALUESHOW(zuniqueid, longval) VALUES (p_zuniqueid, p_longval) ;
COMMIT;
END INSERTTOTEST;
When I use the RPAD function as below, it executes without any error :
EXEC INSERTTOTEST('ABCD123',rpad('',32000,'*'))*
But when I run with real-time values like the following string value :
'[ERROR] [JTA_Command_Insert_tCatalog]Error invoking Transaction Command action: JTATransactionCommand - A SQL Command Exception occured against JNJ_MDD_OCD_CPL_DS with the following command BEGIN INSERT INTO tCatalog_SAPImport( tCatalog_SAPImport.CatalogNo, tCatalog_SAPImport.SONumber, tCatalog_SAPImport.ChemName, tCatalog_SAPImport.RH, tCatalog_SAPImport.ExpireMonth, tCatalog_SAPImport.SlidesPerCart, tCatalog_SAPImport.IDEXX_PART_NBR, tCatalog_SAPImport.TOP_FOIL_MATL_NBR, tCatalog_SAPImport.BTM_FOIL_MATL_NBR, tCatalog_SAPImport.AltChemName, tCatalog_SAPImport.StoreTemp, tCatalog_SAPImport.CartonCode, tCatalog_SAPImport.GrossLeakLimit, tCatalog_SAPImport.LeakLimit, tCatalog_SAPImport.CompValue, tCatalog_SAPImport.ProductType,tCatalog_SAPImport.CheckWeighHi, tCatalog_SAPImport.CheckWeighLo, tCatalog_SAPImport.SO_MASK, tCatalog_SAPImport.CAL_CURVE_PFX, tCatalog_SAPImport.PROD_INP_TYP, tCatalog_SAPImport.CTN_TUBE, tCatalog_SAPImport.SLIDE_STYLE, tCatalog_SAPImport.PROD_DESIG, tCatalog_SAPImport.SFM_AUD_RT, tCatalog_SAPImport.SPL_RT, tCatalog_SAPImport.FIRST_SLIDES_REM, tCatalog_SAPImport.SPL_FRONT, tCatalog_SAPImport.SPL_REAR, tCatalog_SAPImport.BARCODE_TYP, tCatalog_SAPImport.CHK_WEIGH_AIM, tCatalog_SAPImport.FOIL_TYP, tCatalog_SAPImport.CART_CLIP_PRES, tCatalog_SAPImport.TOP_LBL_TYP, tCatalog_SAPImport.FREEZER_MTH, tCatalog_SAPImport.OVERAGE_MTH) VALUES('1988211','09','ALB','33','NA','0','','','','ALB','8','522','305','710','50','17','208','165','','','SP','1','0','','0','0','0','0','0','2','0','0','0','1','0','0'); But then why will the problem happen with this long string ?
>
You don't have a 'long string'. You have a lot of single-quoted strings combined with some unquoted strings.
There are embedded singel quotes in what you call 'this long string'.
Try using a different string delimiter so that the quotes do not cause a problem.
You can use an exclamation point ('!') since there is none in the text you provided.
Here is an example of what will not work because there is one embedded single quote
'name LIKE '%DBMS_%%'This is the same value using exclamation as the delimiter - this works because there is no exclamation in the string
q'!name LIKE '%DBMS_%%'!'1. q must be the first character
2. ' (single quote) must be the next character
3. ! (or any delimiter you choose) is the next character
4. abcdefg. . . -- this is your string that can include single quotes but not an exclamation point
5. ! is the next to last character - must be the same delimiter used as the third character
6. ' (single quote) is the last character
See the 'Text Literals' section of the SQL Reference for more examples
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/sql_elements003.htm
Note that this one will not work because the string includes the percent
This is the same value using exclamation as the delimiter - this works because there is no exclamation in the string

I have no trouble sending an email if the mail server name is less than 13 characters long. I get an error 54 from TCP open when it exceeds that length. How do I get around this?
Don't know what to say, I just tried the SMTP email VI I have with an 18-character mail server address and everything worked fine. The error 54 means that the address is ill-formed.
The only thing I would suggest is trace the mail-server address down through the hierarchy and make sure nothing is done to modify it. Also try putting a probe on the wire going into the TCP open function and make sure the string you see there is the same one you are using. Finally, change the formatting of the control taking the address into the subvi that contains the TCP open function (SMTP Open Session.vi)to show the slash codes and make sure some invisible characters aren't getting added along the way.
As a last resort save the vi in 6.0 format and send it to me and I'll
try it on my system--maybe there's something screwy going on with your computer...

This works fine.

am using iPhoto 11 mail and cannot add more than one recipient in the 'to' line. When I put a comma in, the recipient's address is deleted. If I use '< >' with more than one recipient the save grays out. Any thoughts?
I figured it out. I needed to fix some errors in my account information. It works fine now.

Problems when using outlook and outlook express, cannot send more than app 100 KB.
Since app 6 weeks ago we have problems when sending pictures etc, we cannot send more than app 100KB. If we send more there is error code
Socket Error 10053, Error number 0x800CCC0F. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection.
I have made no changes to either computer. Restoring the laptop to Nov 2011 made no difference.We use Outlook Exlorer and Outlook.
When I take my laptop to my neighbors house, who has Time Warner, I can send 10MB files without any problems, using the EXACT same settings.
Spending over 2 hours with a very informed Verizon technician on the phone did nothing.
I first blamed our server, turns out the culprit is Verizon.
Any ideas?
EugeneGood Morning,
Are you able to send attachments on webmail.verizon.net?

I have a problem when I configure CISCO AP 1252, it cannot support more than 54Mb/s speed but support 802.n which speed can up to 300Mb/s. See below :
here is dot11radio 0 speed option: (The MAX speed is 54Mb/s by manually, how can i setup more than 54Mb/s, because of this AP support 802.n. So the speed should be more than 54M/s, like 300M)

Why this device cannot support 300Mb/s rate in radio 0 of speed ?
i want to setup more than 54 Mb/s when i use my laptop to connect this AP.The 802.11n HT rates apply only to no encryption or WPA2/AES encryption. They do not apply to WEP or WPA encryption. If WEP or TKIP encryption is used, the 1250 series access points and any 802.11n Draft 2.0 clients will not transmit at the HT rates. Legacy rates (802.11a/b/g) will be used for any clients using WEP or TKIP encryption.

40MHz Operation
If the throughput you get from a 20-MHz channel isn't enough for your speedy users, you can flip each 5-GHz 11n radio into a bonded-channel configuration.
You can configure 40-MHz operation on the 2.4-GHz radio of the 1250 Series AP, but this isn't recommended or supported. The primary reason against it is that with a wide channel in a band that has so little available spectrum (and so much interference), you make a single AP capable of higher throughput at the expense of performance for all neighboring access points-certainly not the way enterprise WLANs ought to be designed. Also, the vast majority of client chipsets (Intel's, for one) will not support 40-MHz operation in the 2.4-GHz space.

Making the Most of Things
Once you're connected at 802.11n HT rates, you'll want to make sure you don't lose the throughput gains you should be able to achieve. Not all may be within your control, but if you understand the performance implications of these variables, it will help you in baselining your WLAN capabilities.
When your laptops are unplugged, the 11n client will likely try aggressively to save battery power. Depending on client radio and chipset, it's not uncommon to see performance drop by as much as 50 percent. Unless you know how to fully disable this, keep your laptops plugged in if you want maximum performance,
Note: Even if you managed to disable this power save function, most laptop motherboards/chipsets have automated power-saving features that kick in when the laptop is unplugged. At best, these are difficult to disable. Thus, it is strongly recommended that you not do performance testing when clients are battery operated.
As detailed previously, throughput performance may vary as legacy devices are introduced into the 802.11n environment. This is to be expected, but make sure that you find a channel void of all legacy transmissions if you want to test the high-water mark of your new 11n WLAN. If that isn't possible, adjust your expectations accordingly.

10g BLOB/CLOB can we store more than 4k in SQL
Dear Friends
I know we had issues with BLOB and CLOB storing more than 4k in Oracle 8i using SQL. Is it the same in 10g BLOB/CLOB can we store more than 4k in SQL?
Please help me with some documentationw which explains these aspects with CLOB and BLOB in 10g
Thanks
FaroukThanks for your help,
I understand we can store blobs more than 4k in 10g using DBMB_LOG but there is a constraint in 8i that using SQL u can store directly only 4k and using a bind variable in PL/SQL we can store upto 32K. Is that the same in 10g or can we store directly using sql more than 4k?
Thanks

Itunes cannot authorise more than 5 computers
Within iTunes, I cannot get my work PC's iTunes to log into iTunes Match. It says I cannot authorise more than 5 devices. I have deleted devices, so that all that remains is a couple of iPads and a Macbook. It is still saying this message. It is very frustrating.
Please help me.These steps may help you :
Begin by opening the iTunes program and going to the iTunes Store via the iTunes Store button in the top right.
Once you're at the iTunes Store, click on the Sign In button at the top left corner (if you're not signed in) or on your account name in the same location (if you're already signed in).
This will bring you to your iTunes account. In the top box, you'll see a section labelled Computer Authorizations towards the bottom. Next to it is a button that reads Deauthorize All. Click it.
A window will pop up asking you to confirm that this is what you want to do. Continue.
In just a few seconds, all 5 computers on your account will be deauthorized.
Now, re-authorize just the computers that you still use and you'll be all set.
Other Useful Notes About iTunes Deauthorization
1. It's important to note that the Deauthorize All option is only available when you've used all 5 authorizations for your account and can only be used once every 12 months.
2. If you no longer have access to a computer using one or your authorizations, or that computer no longer works, it can be pretty difficult to remove that authorization. In that case, it may be better to use friends' computers to reach the 5 authorization limit and then follow the Deauthorize All steps above. -
"You cannot authorize more than five computers"
I am unable to play any of my music that I have bought from iTunes music store because when I try to play my music on my new computer it says "You cannot authorize more than five computers". In fact, I only have four computers using my iTunes music account. Any suggestions?
hmmmm. perhaps check to see if you've ended up with multiple authorisations on one of those computers:

Can time capsule store more than the data on my computer?
Can time capsule store more than the data on my computer?
I have a lack of data storage space on my macbook hence I would like to know if Time Capsule is an external hard drive and not just a back up device.It is a backup device.. in fact it is a backup device for wireless clients in particular hence it is a wireless router with a hard disk inside.. if you use it for storage.. it has one or two big weaknesses..
It is slow.. cf a real NAS with raid.. a single slow green drive is plenty for backups.. less than adequate for storage.. fine over wireless of course.. lousy if you are trying to pass big files.. like your iphoto library back and forth.
But the biggie.. IMHO.. no backup.. the TC has no way to back itself up.. and TM cannot include the content of the TC in a backup to another location.. TM cannot backup any network drive.
So your files will be stored on one bottom of the market, cheapest possible drive available.. with no backup.. !!
Time Machine and data files may also not so happily co-exist.. the TC cannot be partitioned (well not internally).
You can create data images... but is this a good idea??
Read a bit of pondini.

Cannot move more than 2 mailboxes from exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013
I have been trying to move mailboxes from ex2007 to ex2013with the new-migrationbatch and the new-moverequest command.
I have a DAG-cluster with two servers with all roles.
What happens is that I cannot get more than two concurrent mailbox moves. If I restart the MRS-service nothing happens. I have changed the config-file for the mailbox replication service and currently have these settings:
MaxMoveHistoryLength="5"
MaxActiveMovesPerSourceMDB="20"
MaxActiveMovesPerTargetMDB="20"
MaxActiveMovesPerSourceServer="100"
MaxActiveMovesPerTargetServer="100"
MaxTotalRequestsPerMRS="100"
What is funny is that when I start a new batch with autocomplete off, only two mailboxes goes to 95% and the rest of them is not even started.
The command I use is New-Migrationbatch -local -Name TestNew -csvdata ([System.IO.File]::ReadAllBytes("c:\temp\exchange\migration\testmigration.txt")) -targetdatabases mdb001,mdb002 -autostart
Here is the output of Get-MigrationConfig | fl
RunspaceId : d382f8a7-924a-4f0e-812e-f18970b632e2
Identity :
MaxNumberOfBatches : 100
MaxConcurrentMigrations : Unlimited
Features : MultiBatch
CanSubmitNewBatch : True
SupportsCutover : False
I have off course restarted both servers and services.Just out of curiosity, on which server you made these changes? Mailbox or CAS? And on Target or Source Server?
