Need an alternative to rp-read-infotype to display infotype txts frm a BSP?

Hi All,
I need to display infotypes maintained texts(F9) from a bsp. I created a test program to read these texts using rp-read-infotype and got it working but didn't realise i couldn't use this method in a BSP until i copied it in. total bummer!
Does anyone know of an alternative that i can use in a BSP.

Can you try using FM READ_TEXT / RFC_READ_TEXT to get the infotype text
and then find the equivalent function on BSP side .

I need help having my program read in finite amounts of data at a time

I've attached my diagram. The problem(s) I am having are as follows
I need to read the data from a .txt (alternately .lvm) file 250 entries at a time. The problem with the construction I have now is that the dynamic to array buffer kind of destroys the point of segmenting the data because it reads it in all at once. In addition, I need a way of reading and writing this data so that I am not using the express VI's. Pretend my data file is say C:\data.txt and it is a single column of values approx. 5m entries long.
Further, I have set up the while loop to stop after everything has been processed, I need to set it up such that the while loop stops when all the data have been read in.

Use the Number of Rows and Offset inputs and the Mark after Read output to get a segment of your array. Put it into a loop until finished or until maximum amount of data you can handle at one time is in memory.

Read last period of infotype without logical database

Hi,
I'm looking for a FM that retrieves last period of one infotype without using logical database pnp, so rp-provide-from-last isn't a solution
Now, I'm using a home made solucion:
First I use HR_READ_INFOTYPE function to read all periods of infotype, then I sort the table by endda (descending) and get first register of table.
But I really prefer using a SAP function module.

You can use the same FM "HR_READ_INFOTYPE" & pass begda = sy-datum and endda = '12/31/9999'.
You will get only one record i.e. latest one.

The Olympus Stylus 1 was first supported in Camera Raw 8.3 which is only compatible with CS6 and CC.
It is not compatible with CS5 or older and never will be.
If you do not want to upgrade to CS6 or CC then you can dwonload the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all Stylus 1 Raw files to DNGs then edit the DNGs in CS5.

Have you tired another browser?
Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera or Safari will all work with Windows 7, and they will give you far less trouble than IE or AOL will.
Firefox has a built in PDF viewer that's less than perfect, but it works.
On a personal note: I worked for AOL ten years ago. AOL mail (what most people use AOL for) is now a FREE service for ANYONE, so if you have their software installed I'd recommend removing it: you don't need it. If you have a paid account with them, I'd cancel it. You're getting NOTHING AT ALL for a monthly fee that isn't available on their website at absolutely no cost to you.
Also, I just spent an entire day last week reloading an office computer for my brother because Internet Explorer allowed a virus from a page that the other browsers don't allow access to. Internet Explorer is "the problem child" of Internet Browsers, and since AOL uses a seven year old version of Internet Explorer for its built-in browser, you'll find little difference between the two.
Try another browser and see if the problem persists. If it does we'll look at Reader as a cause, but I'd venture an aducated guess it's your browser.

Website insists I need to update my PDF reader even though I just did it

I'm trying to download some documentation from the Canada Consulate to ask for my visa and it says I need to update my acrobat reader. I click on the link, download the exe and try to install and it states that I ALREADY HAVE IT INSTALLED. When I try to download the documentation again, it still says I need to install it.
What do I do??? I need to download these!

Don't try to view these documents in a browser like Chrome or FireFox because they don't use Adobe Reader. Instead, just save the file to your desktop and open it from there.

This is not known behavior of Flashback. To make sure you're not infected, just install any updates that are available in Software Update. For more info on this, see About the Flashback malware.
That e-mail just sounds like a phishing attempt, and trying to open and view the attached zip file is a major error! It probably contains malware. Fortunately for you, it's almost certainly Windows malware, as I've never yet heard of a case of Mac malware being sent via e-mail in this way. But it could happen, so you should never, ever open attachments from people you don't know, especially in such suspicious circumstances!
Finally, I, like etresoft, have never heard of Avira. There's a lot of bad AV software out there, so without knowing more about it, I would agree that it should be removed, using whatever uninstaller is provided by Avira. If you want to use AV software, use either Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac Home Edition or ClamXav. Both are free and excellent.

Use Text Ring to Set Parameter; Need Reverse Text Ring to Read?

Using the manufacturers manual I have managed to program a number of simple programs to interface with one of the pieces of lab equipment I am using. To set the sensitivity of the device I used a text ring to allow the user to select the sensitivity visually, while using the number to program the device. Essentially the internal programming had a text ring in mind. To program a sensitivity of 1 nV I use SEN 0. For 3 nV SEN 1. This continues until 3 V with SEN 15.
Now, In order to read the values from the device properly I need to be able to read the sensitivity. The SEN command returns the numeric value but how do I convert the number into a string (much like a text ring in reverse) for each possible outcome?
Subsequently I could just read the numeric value, but I need to treat each sensitivity differently. For example. Reading a 10mV source at the 30mV sensitivity the output voltage is .333V, indicating 1/3 the full range. At each sensitivity I have to multiply the reading by the sensitivity to get the true value.
What is the most compact way to program this? I could set up 16 if equals comparisons and 16 separate branches of code, but that seems highly inefficient.

I think some of these solutions will work to clean up the use of the sensitivities, but let me be more clear on the reading and writing portion.
In the manual I have a table that tells me what command to send to the device to achieve a certain sensitivity level:
SEN
0 100 nV
1 300 nV
2 1 micro V
3 3 micro V
etc.
I want the user to be able to see the sensitivities on the right, while the program uses the values on the left. Hence, I used a text ring to achieve this when setting the sensitivity level. I select 3 micro V on the front panel and the program runs with the value 3.
Now, If I want to check the sensitivity level I have to do this in reverse. Have the program read a value of 3 and output the string telling me that the level is 3 micro V.
It looks like I should be able to use the ring cluster Jeff Bohrer suggested to do this both forwards and in reverse. I will try this at work tomorrow when I have access to LabView again.

You know, such basic things as whether you are in a Mac or a Win machine, and from which version of Reader you would like to upgrade to which. Knowing the version of your OS could also be helpful.

I am writing a report using PNP as my LDB. So there is a selection screen which can takes in the pernr and the dates as begda and endda. Based on this scenario, how do you normally use this FM 'HR_READ_INFOTYPE' to all the records from let say 2 fields from infotype p0000, 2 fields from p0001 and 3 fields from infotype p9999?

Since your are using PNP logical data base, I recomended extract the information via begda and endda limits for each infotype, ie.
GET PERNR.   " fill all infotypes
rp_provide_from_last p0001 space pn-begda pn-endda.   "extracts the records that meet the criteria
IF pnp-sw-found = '1'.               "If found records DO ... whatever you want
write:/ 'Infotipo P001: ', p0001.
ELSE.
REJECT.                                  "If not fount records ... next record.
ENDIF.
This example with infotype 0001, tha same method to infotype 0000, infotype 0002, to infotype 9999.

Infotype 0050 - Display Time Recording Info.

Hello experts,
I need to know if I unblock the "Time rec.ID no.". In order to chage the number if it's wrong.
If I change the number ID, the history data (Time recording info) could be change? How could I change the number ID without changing the history data?

In your case, what you should not do is to go PA30 and click on the 'Change' button. If you did this, you are changing the Time Recording ID for the whole duration of the record validity.
What you should do is to go PA30 on the infotype 50, click on 'Overview' button, select which record you want to maintained and click on 'Copy' button. In the detail screen, specify new effective date of the record. This way, you are not changing the Time Recording Info of the historical record.
Alternatively, you can go PA30 on the infotype 50, and right away click on 'Copy' button. This way, the system will pick up the most recent record and you can specify new effective date.
In short, using copy, you will retain historical record. Whereas using Change, no historical record is kept.

Using FORMS.TEXT_IO to bulk load data from a file strikes me as re-inventing the wheel. It is just about justifiable in a self-service environment, but I regard the EXTERNAL TABLE is a better solution for that situation as well.
The same applies to UTL_FILE. I think the ability to read text with UTL_FILE is primarily intended for read file-based configuration or file manipulation/processing rather than data loading.
Re-writing a text file into SQL statements is too much like hard work (even with an editor that supports macro definition and regular expressions) for no real benefit. You lose all the bulk load peformance you would get from SQL*Loader. But for QAD I'd probably let you off with it.
You missed out one obvious alternative: using Java to turn the contents of an XML file into a CLOB and inserting it into a table which is read by a PL/SQL procedure that parses the XML records and insert the retrieved data into a table.
