Need fonts from previous Ps versions

How can I acquire the fonts from previous versions of Photoshop, like Boulevard, Edwardian Script, Papyrus, etc.?  I need them for continuity purposes.  Thanks

Fonts are just files which you can backup from your system's font folders such as explained here:
Important Directories
If you have installed the old versions on some machine, you could retrieve them, put them on an USB stick or whatever and then reinstall them. The names you mention, though, sound like Fontfolio fonts for which you have to pay or if they ever were part of Adobe products, they are very, very old and may no longer be usable on modern operating systems.

  • Fonts from previous Indesign

I recently had my hard drive crash.  I though I had all my fonts backed up, but I didn't.  I've used Univers Lt on several of my documents, and of course this font came from a previous version of ID, but I'm not sure if I can get them off the CD.  Is there any way to get a copy of the fonts from previous version of ID if I have my key?
I'm not sure if I have access to the previous version installation cd.

Even if Adobe had such a facility (to provide downloads of fonts bundled with previous products that you already licensed), it would not help you in this case. No version of Univers has ever been bundled with InDesign or the Creative Suite.
Furthermore, none of the Univers fonts available from Adobe have been labelled as Univers LT. The Univers fonts in OpenType format are of the OpenType Std family. The older Type 1 versions of Univers had names of the form Univers ## where ## was a two digit number associated with the weight of the font. "LT" is the font ID associated with fonts sourced from the Linotype library, but Adobe never licensed fonts labelled as Univers LT.

  • How do I retain formatting from previous Pages version

As I add sections to my pages document (designed in a previous Pages version), I notice that everything is completely messed up.  Pictures & text are being moved to the wrong pages...

That is due to Pages 5 having a different file format and 100 fewer features than Pages '09.
At best it alters previous files, at worst it damages them:

  • Cannot open Project files from previous FCPX versions

    Hello,
I'm currently on 10.0.8, and have not upgraded to 10.1.1.  Here is my issue:
A documentary project I've been working on since 10.0.1 is not showing up in 10.0.8, and I'm wondering how to "manually" update the Project.  I upgraded FCPX versions a few times while working on this Project (I think all the way up to 10.0.4), but then I stopped as I noticed it was negatively affecting parts of my project and making the application run slow (and Apple recommends you don't update versions while in the middle of a project).  I finished that project, but now fast forward and I'm in 10.0.8 and I need to revisit that Project to make a few changes, but FCPX won't even recognize it.  It successfully updated and recognizes the Events I used for this particular Project, but not the Project itself.
    Any help/suggestions would be great.
    Thank you!

Thanks Russ.  After all this time, I actually solved the problem myself.  I forgot that back 6 months ago, I renamed my Project file, from the default "CurrentVersion".  I just came across another post that said you're not supposed to do that, so I changed my Project file back to "CurrentVersion" and now FCPX recognizes it.  After all that toil, the answer was just too simple!!
    Thanks.

  • How can I save my actions from previous illustrator versions to import into CC

I have a very good workflow with Illustrator CS6 and it bothers me that I have to re-record all my favourite actions in Illustrator CC.  How can I import my actions from CS 6 to CC version?

    Janet,
I believe you can use do it in the same way as described in this recent thread (you may need to take the necessary time to locate the specific folder in the old CC):

  • How to copy Location toolbar from previous Firefox versions

    Hi,
I've been using a very old version of Firefox (3.0.16), mainly because I like very much its intuitive, centrally-located and coloured Location Toolbar. Is there any chance of to import the old Location Toolbar (or its icons)to the new Firefox 11.0? Many thanks.

Do you mean the Navigation Toolbar with the URL box? If so, then everything should be ported over when you update. Just so you know, we strongly suggest you get Firefox 11.0 ASAP, as it contains many security fixes, patches, and updates not available to Firefox 3 users. • Shared Scanners from previous OS versions don't work

Wouldn't you know, just when we set up a shared scanner on an older machine (running Tiger, I think), and I upgrade to Snow Leopard on my laptop only to find out that the version of Image Capture in Snow Leopard cannot find the shared scanner from the Tiger machine. The computer still running Leopard can see it without problems.

How pathetic is that. In an office environment where you have older machines, which by the way are the perfect candidates to hang a scanner off of, you can't even run 10.6 on all your systems.
Apple is doing more all the time to make Microsoft look good. There is no reason at all they couldn't have provided this sort of backward compatibility. "Perfectly refined" indeed... Hogwash.

  • Studio 11 install directory change needed to keep previous studio version

Is there a way to maintain different studio # versions? Studio 11 wants to install under /opt/* & we already have Studio 9 in that directory. Please advise how we can maintain several version installations. Thanks.

As explained in the installation instructions, you can install multiple versions of Sun Studio on the same machine, but they must go into different base directories. The default base directory is /opt. If you have one version of Sun Studio already in /opt, you can install another one in a different base directory.
It's best if you can plan ahead. For example, suppose your first planned installation is Sun Studio 8. You could install it in /opt/ss8, then Sun Studio 8 in /opt/ss9, and Sun Studio 10 in /opt/ss10. Or you could create a top-level directory ss, and install successive versions in /ss/n, where "n" is the version numer.
At installation time, the installer asks you what base directory to use. That's where you enter the base directory if you don't want it to be the default /opt.

  • Need to reinstall Photoshop CS2 but it can't find a previously installed version so won't reinstall

Photoshop CS2 told me there was a "major problem" and that I would need to reinstall the software to continue using it.
So I used the installer CD, but it told me it could not install because there was already a copy installed, which would need to be removed.
So I removed the old version and tried to reinstall but now it tells me it needs a previously installed version in order to reinstall.
Adobe "customer service"chat  is 100% useless on this, referred me to the 800 #, been on hold for over 45 miinutes now, and no relevant topics found on "help" forums.
For a multibillion dollar monopoly, you'd think they could hire a couple of customer service reps but I guess it's all DIY "support" here, so can anyone help?

So, you are NOT trying to reinstall an upgrade, but a purchased version (not in an upgrade path from one version to the next)?
If that is correct, there should be no request for a "previously installed version." That only appears when one is installing an upgrade.
Are you installing from physical media (a DVD), or from a download?
Sorry, I do not have an answer for you.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Hello.  I just upgraded to Lion OS X 10.7.3.  I was previously running 10.5.7 which included the ENTOURAGE application.  how do I retrieve needed information from this application that no longer runs on this new system?

Hello.  I just upgraded to Lion OS X 10.7.3.  I was previously running 10.5.7 which included the ENTOURAGE application.  how do I retrieve needed information from this application that no longer runs on this new system?

The file you'll be looking for that has most of what you're looking for - messages, address book, etc. is the Entourage Database.  The verison of Microsoft Office I run (on Lion) is Office 2008.  By default the Entourage Database for this verison is at user/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2008 Identities/Main Identity/Database.  That folder (Main Identitty) also has your rules, signatures, and such.  You'll have to recover this file from whatever backup you have.  If you have a different version of Entourage, the file location will be a little diffferent.
    Good luck

  • Bring back lost Creation types from previous versions of Elements?

I would like to see some of the Creation types from previous versions of Elements that appear to have been lost in the lastest verions reinstated - either within the product or as downloadable options. Specifically I use the 'Album Pages / Seasons' creations in PE4 a lot but looking through a download of PE7 they are no longer there.
If this can be addressed it would also help me enormously to be able to repeat text boxes on each page (same text, font & position) on each page in just the way I already can with headers and footers.
Any support for this type of thing?

  • Excel 2013 crashes when trying to open existing worksheets from previous versions of Excel

    Hello
I have windows 8 and Excel 2013 on my system. I need to access previously created worksheets (in older versions of Excel), however, when I attempt to open them the Excel crashes.
The is not what I expected from getting the latest version. I telephoned Microsoft who advised that there was a compatabilty problem with no work around at this stage.
I found that the only way round it was to use an (download free) alternative non-Microsoft program
http://www.openoffice.org/ and copy into the 2013 Excel as a new worksheet. A little disappointing after purchasing the Excel .
Have I got this wrong or is there a Microsoft solution to this issue???

    Hi,
    Try the following steps:
Open Excel 2013, and go to
File –> Options –> Trust Center.
    Under
Trust Center settings, select Protected View and
    uncheck all options under it.
Restart the Excel 2013 to check the issue.

  • I downloaded Firefox 4 successfully, but it did not incorporate all my info from previous version (history, bookmarks, tabs, etc.). How do I combine the two?

Current download of Firefox 4 successful, but it did not include info from the previous version such as bookmarks, history, tabs and the like.

I am currently using version 3.6.3 because it has all the information that I need to use the internet. version 4.0 did NOT incorporate all history and so forth (including tabs, bookmarks) when I downloaded it, as previous downloads had. I will continue to use the older version until someone can help me figure out how to merge the information from the older version with the newer one. The posted answer was greek to me and did not help.

  • I cannot recover back up's from previous versions?? Really??

Every time I try to recover back ups from previous versions of iPhoto, it crashes as it doesn't see the image as a jpg file. Any suggestions? These photo's are an invaluable part of my business!!

Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new library.  Now insert the disc in the optical drive and try copying photos from the disc library into the new library.  If you can then that means you current library is damaged.
If that's the case then make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and try the three fixes below in order as needed:
      Fix #1
delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
delete iPhoto's cache files that are located in your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
    Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library.
    Select options #1, #2 and #6.
    Fix #3
Rebuild the library using iPhoto Library Manager as follows:
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Reconnect from previous versions of pse

I accidently deleted some files where  photos are stored. Can I somehow reconnect from previous versions of pse that are backed up on cd's. I am running pse 11.

You can copy the photos to your computer from your backups and PSE Organizer will find them automatically if you put them in the correct folder which your current configuration knows about it.
You just need to copy the photos and organizer can do the rest.
    Good luck.
