Need help in clearing an invalid value entered in an inputLOV popup.

I am using the JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.1.0
Our application uses the Springs Framework with ADF. We used an af:inputListOfValues component coupled with a disabled af:inputText component to make it like a name-value pair. As soon as you enter a valid value in the inputLOV component and tab out, the description corresponding to it will be populated(partial trigger) in the disabled inputText component. There is an inputListOfValues model object in our backing bean which feeds the list of values to choose from.
When we enter an invalid value in the lov and tab out, the popup with all the possible values comes up, which is correct and expected. Now, when the user clicks on "Cancel" in the popup, we are supposed to clear the invalid value entered in the lov component. We tried all possible approaches known to use including AOP(Aspect Oriented Programming) to intercept the call when the user clicks on the "Cancel" button but we just could not make it work.
Does anyone know if a way to clear the entered value upon clicking cancel?
Please let me know if more details are required about our implementation to answer my question.

Besides, you chose to create the table with Object-Relational storage, you have to understand how it works.
When you register the schema with genTypes = true, Oracle creates a set of object types that map the XML structure to SQL.
In this case, old data will not only be invalid but also won't fit in the new structure.
Do you just need a table for storing valid XML documents according to the current schema?
If that is so, maybe unstructured CLOB storage is best suited here, with a trigger to validate new rows inserted.

I need help with the session state value items.
Trigger is created (on After delete, insert action) on table A.
When insert in table B at least one row, then trigger update value to 'Y'
in table A.
When delete all rows from a table B,, then trigger update value to 'N'
in table A.
In detail report changes are visible, but the trigger replacement value is not set in session value.

You'll have to create a process which runs after your database update process that does a query and loads the result into your page item.
For example

WHERE Key_value = My_Page_Item_Holding_Key_ValueThe DML process will only return key values after updating, such as an ID primary key updated by a sequence in a trigger.
If the value is showing in a report, make sure the report refreshes on reload of the page.

Need help with clearing on screen data

Hi all,
I have a transaction which works like SM30 (table maintenance). In my main screen, I have 50 blank fields (created by appending 50 blank rows to an internal table) on the ALV grid for user new entries with 2 buttons: Save and Delete. Once the user has entered the data and click on Save, it will validate the entries and put into internal table before saving into the database.
The problem arise when I want to delete the entries. When user click on Delete, it will clear the entries in the selected row. My problem is, how do I clear the data on the screen since this data is not yet inserted into internal table? These entries are new entries just entered by the users and not being put into internal table or in the database yet.

Once user press the delete button ,
in the user_command event you need to
first insert the values to internal table with delete flag in the internal table , then delete the line the user selected for delete,
then call
method "g_grid->refresh_table_display" after row has been deleted.

Need help with formula that puts values in Field1 based on value of field2

I have two custom fields in the Contact record - Date met and Time Known. Date met is a standard date field that is entered by the user. I then wanted Time Known to automatically populate with specific values based on a formula I wrote. However, the formula/function is not working properly.
I'm also not sure if this should be a pre or post field formula, field validation, or workflow. Please help! Here's the formula I have so far. It worked for a new record created, but now doesn't work at all for some reason (probably from my testing).

Hi, You have to do @ 2 places. For setting the field value @ the time of creating a new record using the field default feature. Check post default as the calculated value is dependent on some other field that you are going to set @ the time of creation. For updating the field whenever the record is modified, use workflows

Im facing a peculiar problem.
Im getting some data from one Function module into one variable.
Sometimes the variable is having values such as 0, 0.0, 0.00 like that.(system is still considering 0.0 as a value)
If such is a case I dont want to print that value(say 0.0) on output.
Pls help me how to initialize the variable with space, if it has the values like 0, 0.0, 0.00 etc..

Just check the sample code. Here need to pass the variable in to another pack (p) type variable. Then check the initial. based on that you can write it.

      IF l_val_p IS INITIAL.

Need help formatting text field default value

Hello,
I've received a customer request to put default text into the Value section of a text field. They're requesting that the default text include line breaks, bullets, etc. I added a Text Field object and added the default text to the Object tab > Value tab Default field but can't figure out how to add line breaks, etc.

Hi,
this is possible but not doable with the UI of Designer.
The workaround is as follows:
1. Create a text, enter your default text with all the formattings you need (text color, bold text, line breaks etc.)
2. Create a text field and enter any word as default value. Let's say "Default".
3. Select the text and the switch to the XML Source view.
There you will find all the formatted text between the <value> tags such as:

 <body xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:xfa="http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-data/1.0/">This is default Text • with RichText formatting.</body>
 </exData>

4. Select the whole code between the <value> tags and copy it to the clipboard (ctrl + c).
5. Go to the Design View, select the text field, go back to the XML Source view.
6. There you'll also find the value <tags> and your default value you entered before.

7. Select this code section and paste the value copied before to the clipboard by pressing ctrl + v.
8. That's it. When you now go back to the Design View your text field shows a formatted RichText as defaul text.

Need help Take out the null values from the ResultSet and Create a XML file

I wrote something which connects to Database and gets the ResultSet. From that ResultSet I am creating
a XML file. IN my program these are the main two classes Frame1 and ResultSetToXML. ResultSetToXML which
takes ResultSet & Boolean value in its constructor. I am passing the ResultSet and Boolean value
from Frame1 class. I am passing the boolean value to get the null values from the ResultSet and then add those
null values to XML File. When i run the program it works alright and adds the null and not null values to
the file. But when i pass the boolean value to take out the null values it would not take it out and adds
the null and not null values.
Please look at the code i am posing. I am showing step by step where its not adding the null values.
Any help is always appreciated.

Need help on interactive report parameter value based on a sequence

At a press of a button..
i have a form where i insert data in a table .a unique number is generated via sequence.
And then a report is called .. all at the press of the same button
Now i need to make a query such that
select * from table_name where no1 = (select d_table_name_seq.currval from dual);
Such statement is not possible in apex..
So what should i do ..Use page_items
How can i store the sequence value in a page item

Need help with Javascript to get value of standard report column

I have a SQL Query (Updateable report) region where I need to do some validations using an OnDemand Applicaiton Process and javascript. For this validation I need to use the serial number and the item id from the same report row. The function is called when the serial number is changed. I can get the serial number easily because it is a Text field, however the item id is a standard report column (making it a text field or hidden gives me a checksum error, long story). How do I get the value for the standard report column in order to set the value for an Application item to be used in my Application Process along with the serial number? Here is my code below.

The item id is NOT in the table which I am updating (I use a subquery to get the data) so I think it has to be a standard report column. Hidden and Text Item (which have an item id) all generate the checksum error.
So I think I'm back to my original question. Given a standard report column on a row in a sql query (updateable report) region how do I get the value using Javascript?

Need Help on Clearing my doubts

I have a question on running Apache and Tomcat with the use of mod_jk connector. With all the guide I have gathered from the web. Below are my configuration:
Red Hat 8.0
Apache 2.0.46 Using Port 80
Tomcat 4.1.24 Using Port 8080
J2SDK 1.4.1
I have no problem running these two applications. However, I cannot seems to access the default 'example' folder that comes with tomcat on port 80. Accessing it on port 8080 has no problem for me.
Please note that all my configuration is done with the help of the following url:

I tried putting the same thing into my httpd.conf, and now accessing the example folder on port 80 works!.
My question is :
1) Based on the above config, it is asking apache to 're-direct' this folder to the tomcat container and thus run on it. In that case, is apache pushing all the jobs to tomcat instead?. What if some of the files in this folder contains some html and is tomcat or apache processing it??
2) Secondly, if I were to have more folders which I need to publish on the web, does it mean that I have to add or of it on this config file in order for it to work?
3) I would appreciate if there are some kind soul could give me some URL on how to utilize apache tomcat to process both static and jsp content.

make sure in your tomcat/conf/server.xml file that the Connector for 8009 is not commented out.

and I supose that you have already the entry in table department and service
