I am a new to Oracle I\PM 10gR3 and I need a guide to create a sample
application using Filer and a sample Process.
I have searched the net and was unable to find any documents. If any body has
any kind of guide to create an application please let me know.

Need help to register HFM sample applications in Shared Services

Hi all,
I have installed HFM 9.3.1 on the server and I have issues in locating the sample application in the HFM console. I want to register the sample application with Hyperion shared services. But when I tried opening the application, I do not see the sample application and also got an error saying,"cannot connect to server".
When I tried creating new application I got an error saying,"there is an error retrieving the user management project list.Please verify that the project exists".
All I want to do is, to provision the shared services users to the HFM sample applications. Could you provide some suggestions to overcome this issue? I'll appreciate your quick response.

Need help in desigining Client/Server Application using Java

Hi,
I am new to Java and no sooner that I started studing it I have been given a project - client server java Application that allows a user to do a property search based on critiras (eg location, price) and display the results. I am stuck because I don't know where I need to start. Have to use IDE (Netbeans or Eclipse) but not sure about dev frameworks.
Can someone give me an outline of what I should do / where I should start? What will be the best solution?

Need help in creating a web application that runs on a stand alone sys.

I am planning a small java web application complete with database. I need to know if there are any ways to deploy that application on a stand alone system and that if there is any way to make an executable for that application so that the user need not go through the process of deploying the app and starting the server whenever he restarts the system. Since I had a Gmail test servlet kicking around, I ran it on the latest V3 nightly build.
On the first run, I encountered the following nested exceptions:

I worked around this by adding the following JVM config options to domain.xml
<jvm-options>-Djavax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword=changeit</jvm-options>
<jvm-options>-Djavax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword=changeit</jvm-options> (Note: the default master password is "changeit")
These lines are placed in /domain/configs/config/java-config of domain.xml for the particular server config you're using. There's only one server config in the default domain.xml shipped with V3. Then restart the server.
I retested the code on both port 465 and 587, with and without the above config changes. Without the change, they both fail the same way, and with the change, they both work. Let me know if this helps.

Need help hosting an XE APEX application using a domain name

I have a pc with win xp and have installed XP with sp2. I have installed XE and upgraded to APEX 3.1. I have apache 2.2 installed. I have a dynamic IP so I have been using dyndns.org. I have just bought a domain name from 123-reg.co.uk. Now I want to link my domain name to my app.
At the moment my users type http://mydomain.dyndns.com/apex. That open my APEX home page. Ideally I would like my users to type www.mydomain.co.uk and it should default to one of my applications.
1. How do I get apache to redirect to a default application so users can just type www.mydomain.co.uk?

Non-framed web-forwarding - The destination URL will remain in the browser's address barI wouldn't advise using forwarding, since you have control over the DNS set the DNS to point to your IP address rather than their server, this will have a couple of advantages -
1) You don't incur the 'penalty' of having your users having to go via your hosting companies servers for each request (they communicate directly with your server instead).
2) You will incur less 'pain', web-forwarding can cause quite a few issues depending on your exact requirements (they might not affect you today or tomorrow, but someday down the line you might get bitten by them).

Need help in creating documents for Contacts in Oracle HRMS

We are trying to add documents to Contacts in Oracle HRMS. (11.5.10.2)
Navigation: Oracle HR Super User -> Fastpath -> Documents of Record
Search for a Contact -> Manage Documents of Record -> Create Document of Record.
In Document Information -> Type is mandatory field but the LOV is not returning any values.
The LOV works fine for both system defined and custom document types when trying to create documents for Employees or External Contractors.
But we would need to be able to add documents for Contacts also.
Please let us know if this expected functionality or if there is any setup that is needed.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

Need help to create report with jpeg/gif image

Hello,
I need help with creating a form with a special jpeg/gif seal. I never done this Java. Until now, I created all forms with ansi C++ with HP escape characters to draw lines, boxs, and text. This form will contain boxes which is populated with database information read from a text file.
Since this form contains a special seal on the upper right, I don't think it can be done with old fashion ansi C++. How can I create a form with Java and create it as a simple exe to just print the form to a specified printer.

I am creating a form with boxes (lines and text). What is special about this form is that it has an image jpeg or gif at the top right corner. Is is a state department seal. Up to this form, I had used ansi C++ and print out escape HP character to print out the lines, boxes, and text. I have no idea how to print out the image. I am new to JAVA and only 1 class in it. Is there sample code out there to create this type of form with the image? I need a starting point.

1. Do I need to create a blank application or follow the steps
2. Folow the steps means with out selecting blank application click next and define all new dimensions that are there in .ads file

What is the Best was to create a newsletter application using BEA / Documentum
The newsletter will be republished and users will see new content every month. We plan to use BEA portal 8.1 sp3 with Documentum 5.3Sp1 / SCS.
The content of newsletter may be coming from data sources, we will combine this content plus some static content, and publish to Documentum using BEA's CM SPI implementation for Documentum. To connect to different data sources we will use registered table feature of Documentum. Anybody can suggest the best to achieve this or any suggestion or any samples....
How can we create our custom portlets which can use Documentum registered table feature to connect to data sources.

I assume that you are thinking about using the 'n" wireless version of the AirPort Express, or the "new" dual band AirPort Express.
Simply connect each Express one at a time via Ethernet back to the Ethernet switch and use AirPort Setup to configure the device. Other than entering a device name for each Express, AirPort Setup will do everything else for you automatically. You will be amazed at how easy this will be.
I do not want to use the "Extend Range" feature, as it trys to link the express back to the extreme via wireless.
Sounds like you might be a bit confused here. When AirPort Setup recognizes that the Express is connected via Ethernet, it will configure the Express to "extend" using an Ethernet connection....not wireless.
In other words, Apple devices can "extend" using wireless or Ethernet connections. AirPort Setup analyzes the connection and chooses the correct settings for you.
If you later go back in and check the settings for the Express using AirPort Utility, you will see that it has actually been set up to "create" a wireless network using the same wireless network name, same security and same password as the main router. The Express will also be in Bridge Mode to work correctly on the network.

Sample application using the Eclipse BIRT schema

Somaco have produced a sample application based upon the Eclipse BIRT example schema (customers, orders, products, etc). Hopefully this will be of some use to new-to-Spring developers looking for other example applications and sample applications.
So far we're tested/run the sample application on Tomcat, using JOTM transactions against the MySQL version of the BIRT schema. We'd like to (a) offer the sample application to those Weblogic users looking for sample applications (other than petstore), and (b) get some feedback on the sample application from Weblogic users - both for the deployment and for the app itself.

The sample application uses the following Spring MVC Framework features:
<ul>
<li>Various Spring controllers including: SimpleFormController, AbstractWizardFormController, and MultiActionController.</li>
<li>Validation and Custom Editors (including a CustomTimestampEditor for java.sql.Timestamp fields).</li>
