Need help in using sleep function in pl/sql

Hi,
need help:
I have a condition where i want to validate total_pass=total_fail and
I want to use the sleep function in a pl/sql where i want to wait for 2 minutes ie.checking
whether total_pass=total_fail based upon class_id .
I have the data in the table as:
CLASS_ID TOT_PASS TOT_FAIL
1 10 10
2 5 4
3 6 6
4 7 5
Any help will be needful for me

I'm not quite sure what you are lookg for here, but whatever it is, your code as posted won't do it. You will never break out of the WHILE r_Class.Tot_Pass = r_Class.Tot_Fail loop, since these values will never change because you never get the next record form the cursor.
From your original data, it looks like your cursor will return multiple rows which implies to me that you want to fetch the first row from the cursor, check if tot_pass = tot_fail, if they are equal, sleep for two minutes then get the next row. This does not make sense to me. Once the select in the cursor is executed, the data it returns will not change due to Oracle's read consistency model, so there seems to me no point in the sleep.
The other alternative I can see is that you want to check all the returned rows, and if tot_pass = tot_fail for one of the rows (or possibly for all of the rows), then you want to sleep and try again.
If you can explain in words what it is you are trying to accomplish, someone will be able to point you to a solution.

When I try the query below I get prompted for substitution variable value.
I don't seem to be able to find the right syntax to make this query work.

GeorgeHa! The codes you specified rendered in the HTML, but showed properly when I listed your original posting above. I didn't understand what you meant initially because the 5-character string represenation got rendered as the quote that you said you weren't able to get - a display problem.
You're getting prompted for the substituon variable because of the ampersand; you appear to be doing this in SQL*PLUS. The first thing I would try is to SET DEFINE OFF when using the ampersands to see if that works. If That doesn't work check the docs to delmit the ampersand (I think its a backslash before it but can't remember offhand). Another, harder option might be to use the TRANSLATE function replacing the literal character instead of using REPLACE (though replacing a quote will be a little tricky). If you're on 10g also consider using the advanced quoting

Gurus,
I need help in using the FM BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA. The FM is returning a message that says "The field MARA-MEINS/BAPI_MARA-BASE_UOM(_ISO) is defined as a required field; it does not contain an entry".

Help in using listagg function for more than 8000 char.

Hi Friends,
Need you urgent help in using listagg function for more than 8000 char.
I did the below sample SQL and in "e_orig" and "d_orig" for upto 4000 char it is working fine but I have to use it for more than 8000 char. and it is giving error,
I checked the listagg function is having limitation of 4000 char.
I tried but I am unable to achive this. Can someone provide me a sample example to achive this

I then wrote a driving script that calls them in the order above and times each call (I like benchmarking so I have my own timing object to make it easy). I then print the lengths for checking, and my object writes the timings to my output table. Running a few times I got varying results, but generally it looks like there isn't a lot to choose between them for performance.

Need Help in Replacement of Function Modules

I am working on Upgrade project from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0. I am facing problems for Replacement of two Obsolete Function Modules. Please give me a solution. FM's are as follows.
1) SET_AUTHORITY : This FM is obsolete in ECC 6.0 and there is not alternative FM present in help.sap.com or any other web portal.
2) WS_QUERY : Here as per my knowledge we use class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES and methods FILE_EXIST or DIRECTORY_EXIST as per the parameters in old FM. For parameter 'FS' we use 'FILE_EXIST' and 'DS' we use 'DIRECTORY EXIST'.
But in our program prev. FM has parameter 'OS' i.e. Operating System.
But there is not method called 'OS EXIST' or similar. Please suggest suitable method.

Obsolete Modules can be used in newer versions, but it is not supported by SAP in case of any technical issues.If you still need a replacement, you can replace it by the source code in the FM SET_AUTHORITY itself and modify according to your needs.

Need help on Adhoc Request functionality in PI

Hi Experts ,
Need help on the design approach . How can PI handles if Sender System prefers to send an Adhoc Request(Outbound) to PI .
Here is the complete requirement .
" An Adhoc Request is send to PI from the Legacy Sender System (Whenever Legacy system has Planned and unplanned shutdowns) . Legacy system uses web client based request ( HTTP ) to PI . As soon as the http request is received to PI . PI needs provide back the information to Legacy System "
Note : PI needs to provide the Requested data to Legacy system from the External Shared folders . (Data content is stored in an .xml format in shared folders)
I can see file adapter is one of the option which i can choose to connect to the external folders .
How can i achieve the Adhoc Request functionality ? Needs advice and suggestions on this please ?

Hi Aziz - I don't think you should worry about "Ad hoc" here. It's nothing but a specific request from your sender application.
Please refer to the scenario #8 SOAP- File and i assume it would be the same case with your interface.

In this transacation,
I found that the delta method for COPA data sources can be changed from generic delta to time stamp mgmt in Profitability Analysis.
But it displays warning
This function is only available for DataSources with time stamp mgmt
in Profitability Analysis.
It changes the internal control information on the DataSource.
Improper use can create data inconsistencies that cannot be resolved.
First read the appropriate notes about using this function that are
found in the Extractor IMG.
I read the notes , but couldnt quite understand much,

Hi Ravi,
Generic Extraction is used to extract data from COPA tables. And delta method used to extract delta records (records created after initilization) is timestamp.
What is this timestamp?
Assume that, you have posted 10 records one after the other to the COPA tables. And we do initilization to move all these 10 records to BW system. Later another 5 records are added to COPA tables. How do you think the system identifies these new 5 records (delta records).?
It identifies based on a timestamp field (eg : Document created on ,a 16 digit decimal field).
Assume that, in our previous initilzation, say "document created on" field for the last (or the latest) record is 14/11/2006, 18.00 hrs. and timestamp is set to the 14/11/2006, 18.00hrs. then when you do delta update, the system treats all the records with "document created on" field is greater than 14/11/2006, 18.00 hrs as delta records. This is how new 5 records are extracted to bw system and timestamp is again set to the new value besed in field in the records.(say 14/11/2006, 20.00hrs)
Assume that, you have two records with "document created on" field as 14/11/2006, 17.55hrs and 14/11/2006, 17.57hrs. and they were updated to the COPA table after 14/11/2006,20.00hrs (at this time last delta load is done) due to some reason. How can you bring these two records? For this, purpose we can reset the timestamp at KEB5. In this eg, we can reset as 14/11/2006, 17.50 hrs) and do the delta again. So, the system picks all the records which are posted after 14/11/2006,17.50hrs again. But remember that, doing this, you sending some of the records again (duplicate records). So, make sure that you sending ODS object. otherwise you end up with inconsistant data due to duplicate records.

You need to create an inbound function module. Then define the process code in transaction we42 and attach the function module to this process code.
In the function module you create you need to define tables of types EDIDC (Control record (IDoc)), EDIDD (Data record (IDoc)) and BDIDOCSTAT (ALE IDoc status (subset of all IDoc status fields)).

New User,need help, charging, using, everythi

I recently bought a Zen V Plus and have no tech savy so need help. I've checked with support but don't get th answers I need so thought someone here could help. Here are my questions.
1. Is there anything else that can be used as a charger besides a Zen product. I have several cell phone chargers both for house and can, can any of these be used? need to save money
2. Can the Zen be used while charging? All I get is the docked message and nothing else?
3. I use my player mainly for audio books and the battery doesn't hold for a whole book so I have to charge but when I do the book goes? back to the first part instead of holding my place. I do I hold my place?
Anybody that can give me simple clear answers please help. Because of my age I have trouble reading and the player allows me to enjoy books but I have trouble understanding how to make it work. Don't laugh but my 3 year old grandson would probably have better luck with getting it to work.

First, no three year old will do better than you can with the player. That said, spend some time reading the tutorials listed under support at the top of this page, and use the search in this forum to find everything you can about the Zen V Plus.
When I shut down my Zen V plus, while reading my current audiobook, I just hit the pause button and then pull down the slide button on the left for "shutting down". Some of my books seem to do better with just a shut down instead of pause first. I have found that the bookmark feature is more trouble than it is worth. I use audiobooks from NetLibrary and Overdri've and a few extra from a forum on audiobooks. It seems that they all work differently when shutting down and holding a place.
Anyway, spend some time trying different methods of bookmarking. The Zen V Plus is fairly forgiving player.

One more thought for recharging your battery. Try Amazon or eBay for a recharger, if you can't afford the Creative charger, but remember that you can fry the player if you use the wrong one and the warranty doesn't cover that damage. The easiest and cheapest way to recharge is to use the computer.

In terms of moving the cursor, you can use your find on the screen to reposition the insertion point - press and hold on the screen and after a second or so you should get a amgnifying symbol allowing you to position the insertion point. You can then delete backwards (there isn't a forward delete).

I have Iconia Tab A500 running 3.0, need help updating, I downloaded all updaes list in the acer supprt, all versions, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, and 4.something, I read on the acer support somewhere I can use a microsd card to update my device, because acer no longer provides automatically, when i try it says "poor network connection, move to anthoer location.", Do I need to update all the listed updates, or can i only update, using the 4. 0? to get the last known update. I also downloaded, "Documents, Apllications, Drivers, Patches, and O.S..... How do i intsall all these updates, I think am running the very lowest version available, Please Help me...
