Need Help in with Querying Stored Procedures from UCCX Database

Hi All
We are trying to build a custom reporting solution using a BI tool and for which we have provided the ODBC connectivity to the UCCX database to our SQL server.
We have installed the ODBC drivers on our SQL server and made a connection to UCCX version 10.0 successfully. we are using the username 'uccxhruser' to connect to the DSN.
We want to query the stored procedure sp_csq_activity from the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio. When we add the Linked Server in the SQL Server, we are able to see the Data Tables and also query them using the select statement. However, we are not able to see any of the Stored procedures within the Linked Server Tab.
Can someone guide us in the right direction as to how to go about the process. Is calling the stored proedure the right way or we need to query the individual tables as mentioned in the Database Schema Guide and then once the historical tables our there in our server , then build the report.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Regards
Abhinav

Hi,
what happens if you try to execute the above SP? They should be accessible AFAIK.

  • Calling Stored Procedure from Oracle DataBase using Sender JDBC (JDBC-JMS)

    Hi All,
    We have requirement to move the data from Database to Queue (Interface Flow: JDBC -> JMS).
    Database is Oracle.
    *Based on Event, data will be triggered into two tables: XX & YY. This event occurs twice daily.
    Take one field: 'aa' in XX and compare it with the field: 'pp' in YY.
    If both are equal, then
         if the field: 'qq' in YY table equals to "Add" then take the data from the view table: 'Add_View'.
         else  if the field: 'qq' in YY table equals to "Modify"  then take the data from the view table: 'Modify_View'.
    Finally, We need to archive the selected data from the respective view table.*
    From each table, data will come differently, means with different field names.
    I thought of call Stored Procedure from Sender JDBC Adapter for the above requirement.
    But I heard that, we cannot call stored procedure in Oracle through Sender JDBC as it returns Cursor instead of ResultSet.
    Is there any way other than Stored Procedure?
    How to handle Data Types as data is coming from two different tables?
    Can we create one data type for two tables?
    Is BPM required for this to collect data from two different tables?
    Can somebody guide me on how to handle this?
    Waiting eagerly for help which will be rewarded.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Jyothirmayi.

    Hi Gopal,
    Thank you for your reply.
    >Is there any way other than Stored Procedure?
    Can you try configuring sender adapter to poll the data in intervals. You can configure Automatic TIme planning (ATP) in the sender jdbc channel.
    I need to select the data from different tables based on some conditions. Let me simplify that.
    Suppose Table1 contains 'n' no of rows. For each row, I need to test two conditions where only one condition will be satisfied. If 1st condition is satisfied, then data needs to be taken from Table2 else data needs to be taken from Table3.
    How can we meet this by configuring sender adapter with ATP?

    >How to handle Data Types as data is coming from two different tables?
    If you use join query in the select statement field of the channel then whatever you need select fields will be returned. This might be fields of two tables. your datatype fields are combination of two diff table.
    we need to take data only from one table at a time. It is not join of two tables.

    Thanks,

  • Calling Stored Procedures from a database ( MySQL )

    Hello, I've been trying to get my stored procedures to work for more than a week now, I am able to connect to my database, register the output, but when it get's to the execute query line, the try statement drops out. Any Ideas, I tried using a resultset earlier, but have created a single value returning stored proc now.
    public static String sp01() {
            String returnedID2="21345";
            String returnedID="1";
            int rtid;
            try {
                Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/corrovu?user=root&password=Glancino");
                CallableStatement cStmt = conn.prepareCall("{? = call sp3()}");
                returnedID="2"; //2 is returned
                cStmt.registerOutParameter(1, java.sql.Types.INTEGER);
                returnedID="3"; //3 is returned
                cStmt.execute();
                returnedID="4"; //4 fails to return !!!!
                rtid = cStmt.getInt(1);
                returnedID="5";
                if (returnedID == null){
                    return null;
                } else {
                    return returnedID;
            } catch(Exception e){
            return returnedID; //Note I had to insert this line to get the method working
        }If I type CALL sp3(); in the query editor, it returns '4' which is the value in the database.
    I don't know why it dies on the cStmt.execute(); Am I not pereparing the call correctly? I tried "? = CALL sp3();" as well to no avail.
    Thanks, looking forward to the replies, Once I have got this working, I will write up the correct methods to access stored procs's from MySQL.

    Thank you for the fast replies, I have seen these examples before and tried them, this metod is still crashing out when it hit's the execute() command. If you open a new project, insert a button, called button1, insert 2 text boxes called, txt1 & txt2, open up the java and insert this code in the relevent spots. To see where it fails, include the returnedID lines i've included in the comment lines.
    The stored procedure is simple, it just seraches a string and returns a single integer.
    DELIMITER $$;
    DROP PROCEDURE IF EXISTS `corrovu`.`sp3`$$
    CREATE PROCEDURE `sp3`()
    BEGIN
         SELECT diam FROM details WHERE PID = '0050003';
    END$$
    DELIMITER ;$$
    diam is '4' where PID is '0050003' so the txt1 should display 4 but it doesn't, this is really driving me crazy, I've probably spent more than 50 hours trying to get the stored proc working, I don't know what more to do. I've looked at hundreds of expamples and can't get any of them working.

  • Need information on running Oracle stored procedures from VB using ODP

    Hi. I'm trying to run some complex queries on a list of Oracle databases from a VB application using ODP.
    I've been able to execute simple queries formatted as strings on all 150 databases with no problems. Now, however the queries are more than 100 lines, and it's not practical to handle them as strings.
    Can anyone point me to reference material or some samples that would show how to to this?
    I've gone through this forum, but I haven't found anything starting from the very basics, which is what I need.
    Many thanks

    It might be easier just to break down the queries into smaller peices and execute them in sequence, then put the results together later.

  • Executing an Oracle Stored Procedure from Sender JDBC adapter

    I could really use some help from someone who had done this before.
    I've read the help about using the JDBC sender adapter, but it's not helping enough.
    I found this line: "Specify an SQL EXECUTE statement to execute a stored procedure, which contains exactly one SELECT statement.
    The expression must correspond to the SQL variant supported by the relevant JDBC driver. It can also contain table JOINs."
    That's definately what we want to do, but we can't figure out the syntax.
    The procedure in oracle looks like this:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE test_ref_cursor
    ( cur_generic IN OUT result_sets.cur_generic)
    as
    BEGIN
    Open cur_generic for
    select
       proposal_number,
       to_char(sequence_number),
       column_name,
       column_value,
       update_timestamp,
       update_user
       from
       coeus.sap_test;
    END test_ref_cursor;
    And we have tried every kind of statement we can think of, but the file adapter always gives us an "invalid sql statement" error.
    Does anyone know what syntax we need to put in the "Query SQL Statement" in the JDBC sender adapter in order to call this procedure?  Or is there something wrong with the procedure that is causing the error?
    <i>I will absolutely return and give points, but PLEASE read my whole post before answering and do not just link me to or quote the help for configuring a sender JDBC adapter or blogs that are about the JDBC adapter in general but do not deal with the issues I am having. Thank you.</i>

    Hi Vanda,
    Unfortunately, the sender JDBC adapter does not support Oracle's store procedure/function.  Unlike stored procedures from other database vendors, Oracle returns a cursor, not a resultset.  The sender JDBC adapter must send a resultset to XI.
    There are 2 possible ways you can accomplish this:
    1.  Use BPM and call the Oracle stored procedure using a receiver adapter via a asynch-synch bridge.
    2.  Develop a user-module for the adapter, which can be used with a sender adapter.
    Thanks
    Prasad

  • Deleting a stored procedure from an EF 6.1 Database First C# solution

    I added a stored procedure to a EF 6.1.x Database First solution. Then I changed the stored procedure on SQL Server. Hoped that the changes would be updated in EF when I used Update Model from Database from the Designer. But they weren't. Tables update correctly
    when I change the table's schema within SQL Server. Function Imports and classes generated from a stored procedure don't seem to update if I update the stored procedure however.
    So I figured that I would delete the stored procedure from the model and then re-add it. But wait! I couldn't find a way to delete the stored procedure from the model! There's no object to delete from the design surface when the object is a stored procedure!.
    First I tried deleting the class from the Solution Explorer. Bad idea. An update from the design surface duplicated the class!.
    The only way I found that you could completely remove a stored procedure from a Database First EF solution is to open the model browser and delete any class reference from the model's ComplexTypes , FunctionImports and from model.Store's StoredProcedures.
    Seems like a lot of work.
    Isn't there an easier way? Is it this hard in Code First?
    Michael

    Hello,
    >>Isn't there an easier way? Is it this hard in Code First?
    Curently, it seems that there is not a easy enough to delete a store produce in database first approach.You could post a feedback about this issue to:

    When using stote produce with code first approach, it is easy since we do not need to import these SPs to the model, for details, you could check this link:

  • How to use @jws:sql call Stored Procedure from Workshop

    Is there anyone know how to use @jws tag call Sybase stored procedure within
    Workshop,
    Thanks,

    Anurag,
    Do you know is there any plan to add this feature in future release? and
    when?

    David,
    In the current release, we do not support calling stored procedures from a
    database control. You will have to write JDBC code in the JWS file to call
    stored procedures.

    Anurag,
    I know how to use DB connection pool and create a db control with it. In
    fact, we have created a Web Service with the db control using plain SQL
    in
    @jws:sql. However, my question here is how to use @jws tag in Weblogic
    Workshop to create a Web Services based on Sybase stored procedure orany
    Stored Proc not plain SQL.
    Thanks,

    David,
    You can use a database control to obtain a connection from any JDBC
    Connection Pool configured in the config.xml file. The JDBC Connectionpool
    could be connecting to any database, the database control is
    independent
    of
    that.

  • Parameters to stored procedure from sender JDBC

    Hi,
    I am using the JDBC sender adapter to call the Oracle stored procedure. Oracle version is 10.2. hence I m using function call using select.
    My concern is, how to pass the input parameter to Oracle function from JDBC sender.
    Regards,
    Kavita

    Hi Kavita,
    <i>I am using the JDBC sender adapter to call the Oracle stored procedure</i>
    <i>Unfortunately, the sender JDBC adapter does not support Oracle's stored procedure/function. Unlike stored procedures from other database vendors, Oracle returns a cursor, not a resultset. The sender JDBC adapter must send a resultset to XI.</i>
    Executing an Oracle Stored Procedure from Sender JDBC adapter
    [Not sure about latest versions of Oracle]
    <i>can I pass the input parameter to this function? </i>
    In my opinion, No
    <i>If not, I need to change the approach, and need to use receiver JDBC[as need to pass input parameter]. </i>
    This could be possible but havent tried it
    <i>Can JDBC Receiver adapter support stored procedure for Oracle[10.2]</i>
    Yes

  • Running a SQL Stored Procedure from Power Query with Dynamic Parameters

    Hi,
    I want to execute a stored procedure from Power Query with dynamic parameters.
    In normal process, query will look like below in Power Query. Here the value 'Dileep' is passed as a parameter value to SP.
        Source = Sql.Database("ABC-PC", "SAMPLEDB", [Query="EXEC DBO.spGetData 'Dileep'"]
    Now I want to pass the value dynamically taking from excel sheet. I can get the required excel cell value in a variable but unable to pass it to query.
        Name_Parameter = Excel.CurrentWorkbook(){[Name="Table3"]}[Content],
        Name_Value = Name_Parameter{0}[Value],
    I have tried like below but it is not working.
    Source = Sql.Database("ABC-PC", "SAMPLEDB", [Query="EXEC DBO.spGetData Name_Value"]
    Can anyone please help me with this issue.
    Thanks
    Dileep

    Hi,
    I got it. Below is the correct syntax.
    Source = Sql.Database("ABC-PC", "SAMPLEDB", [Query="EXEC DBO.spGetData '" & Name_Value & "'"]
    Thanks

  • Need Help With a Stored Procedure

    Help With a Stored Procedure
    Hi everyone.
    I am quite new relative to creating stored procedures, so I anticipate that whatever help I could get here would be very much helpful.
    Anyway, here is my case:
    I have a table where I need to update some fields with values coming from other tables. The other tables, let us just name as tblRef1, tblRef2 and tblRef3. For clarity, let us name tblToUpdate as my table to update. tblToUpdate has the following fields.
    PlanID
    EmployeeIndicator
    UpdatedBy
    CreatedBy
    tblRef1, tblRef2 and tblRef3 has the following fields:
    UserName
    EmpIndicator
    UserID
    In my stored procedure, I need to perform the following:
    1. Check each row in the tblToUpdate table. Get the CreatedBy value and compare the same to the UserName and UserID field of tblRef1. If no value exists in tblRef1, I then proceed to check if the value exists in the same fields in tblRef2 and tblRef3.
    2. If the value is found, then I would update the EmployeeIndicator field in tblToUpdate with the value found on either tblRef1, tblRef2 or tblRef3.
    I am having some trouble writing the stored procedure to accomplish this. So far, I have written is the following:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE Proc_Upd IS v_rec NUMBER;
    v_plan_no tblToUpdate.PLANID%TYPE;
    v_ref_ind tblToUpdate.EMPLOYEEINDICATOR%TYPE;
    v_update_user tblToUpdate.UPDATEDBY%TYPE;
    v_created_by tblToUpdate.CREATEDBY%TYPE;
    v_correct_ref_ind tblToUpdate.EMPLOYEEIDICATOR%TYPE;
    CURSOR cur_plan IS SELECT PlanID, EmployeeIndicator, UPPER(UpdatedBy), UPPER(CreatedBy) FROM tblToUpdate;
    BEGIN
    Open cur_plan;
         LOOP
         FETCH cur_plan INTO v_plan_no, v_ref_ind, v_update_user, v_created_by;
              EXIT WHEN cur_plan%NOTFOUND;
              BEGIN
              -- Check if v_created_by has value.
                   IF v_created_by IS NOT NULL THEN
                   -- Get the EmpIndicator from the tblRef1, tblRef2 or tblRef3 based on CreatedBy
                   SELECT UPPER(EmpIndicator)
                        INTO v_correct_ref_ind
                        FROM tblRef1
                        WHERE UPPER(USERNAME) = v_created_by
                        OR UPPER(USERID) = v_created_by;
                        IF v_correct_ref_ind IS NOT NULL THEN
                        -- Update the Reference Indicator Field in the table TRP_BUSPLAN_HDR_T.
                             UPDATE TRP_BUSPLAN_HDR_T SET ref_ind = v_correct_ref_ind WHERE plan_no = v_plan_no;
                        ELSIF
                        -- Check the Other tables here????
                        END IF;
                   ELSIF v_created_by IS NULL THEN
                   -- Get the EmpIndicator based on the UpdatedBy
                        SELECT UPPER(EmpIndicator)
                        INTO v_correct_ref_ind
                        FROM tblRef1
                        WHERE UPPER(USERNAME) = v_update_user
                        OR UPPER(USERID) = v_created_by;
                        IF v_correct_ref_ind IS NOT NULL THEN
                        -- Update the Reference Indicator Field in the table TRP_BUSPLAN_HDR_T.
                             UPDATE TRP_BUSPLAN_HDR_T SET ref_ind = v_correct_ref_ind WHERE plan_no = v_plan_no;
                        ELSIF
                        -- Check the Other tables here????
                        END IF;
                   END IF;
              END;
         END LOOP;
         CLOSE cur_plan;
         COMMIT;
    END
    Please take note that the values in the column tblToUpdate.UpdatedBy or tblToUpdate.CreatedBy could match either the UserName or the UserID of the table tblRef1, tblRef2, or tblRef3.
    Kindly provide more insight. When I try to execute the procedure above, I get a DATA NOT FOUND ERROR.
    Thanks.

    Ah, ok; I got the updates the wrong way round then.
    BluShadow's single update sounds like what you need then.
    I also suggest you read this AskTom link to help you see why you should choose to write DML statements before choosing to write cursor + loops.
    In general, when you're being asked to update / insert / delete rows into a table or several tables, your first reaction should be: "Can I do this in SQL?" If you can, then putting it into a stored procedure is usually just a case of putting the sql statement inside the procedure header/footers - can't really get much more simple than that! *{;-)

  • Calling Oracle stored procedure from xMII Query Templates.

    Hi All,
    We have a requirement to call a Oracle stored procedure from xMII, the SP expects some inputs and then it returns multiple rows.
    I tried different approches with no results, I remember some posts on the same topic but I could not get in search results.
    Looking for some help in this regards
    Rupesh.

    Hi Rupesh Bajaj,
    In oracle stored procedure we have to use Packages..if you used packages the u have to assign to some variable.
    To calling Stored procedure  in Query Template is CALL Testing('[Param.1]','[Param.2]',,:X)
    In above line Testing is Stored procedure name and Param.1 is parameters and X is Package.
    Thanks

    I just try a simple call with a data tag just like this (see category.jsp in the onlineorder example provided with Jdev 3.2.3):
    <!-- Tutorial - ApplicationModule Tag -->
    <%@ taglib uri="/webapp/DataTags.tld" prefix="jbo" %>
    <jbo:ApplicationModule configname="OnlineOrders.OnlineOrdersModule.LocalConfig" id="OnlineOrdersModule" username="BC4J" password="BC4J" />
    <!-- Tutorial - DataSource Tag -->
    <jbo:DataSource id="category" appid="OnlineOrdersModule" viewobject="CategoryView" ></jbo:DataSource>
    <jbo:ExecuteSQL appid="OnlineOrdersModule" >
    insert into tablejsp values ('testtable')
    </jbo:ExecuteSQL>
    <jbo:ExecuteSQL appid="OnlineOrdersModule" >
    call testjsp()
    </jbo:ExecuteSQL>
    <jbo:Commit appid="OnlineOrdersModule" />
    testjsp is a stored PL/SQL procedure without arguments.
