Need help on features of Oracle9iAS

Dear All,
I am new in this Forum. I am working as a Technical Consultant in Thailand. As of now, I am looking for a Application Server the will meet requirements of our prospected customer. Personally , I prefer to propose the Oracle9iAS, but I am not sure whethere it will meet these specifications or not. Would you please me help me ? Here are the specifications that I have problems whethere Oracle9iAS is currently support or not:
1) be able to do "caching" by combining several connections into a single Thread
2) have a security feature to control to usage/access of sessions that are used to enter the system
3) support CORBA
4) Securites features: Access Control List and User Authentication
PLease help our company use and develop applications for our customers using Oracle RDBMS for a long time. Using "Oracle9iAS" may give us some more advantages compare to other "applications server". However, we need to meet these requirements as well. PLease excuse me , the specifiactions above might not be "Technically correct" since there are translated from Thai language. Absolutely. Just don't reinstall the graphics card until you clean it thoroughly.
Cleaning the dust out of my machine?
YES. A dust filled graphics card heatsink will cause the GPU to cook, and cause problems thet you describe.
If I need a new graphics card, what are my options? Do I have to purchase it via Apple store? I would like to stick with an Nvidia card so am I stuck buying the same card I currently have or can I upgrade?
You don't have to buy from Apple, but using with OS X limits your choices to Mac compatible or flashable PC versions.

I hope I'm doing this right.

With my storm when I make a call the key pad for the phone goes away. This is problematic especially when I'm checking voice mail. It is prompting me to enter my access code and i'm trying to get the key pad to display itself. what do I do? Can I lock the key pad to display while making calls?

I am on an enterprise server how can I remove email accounts? I get two displays of the same emails comming in. They all come into a application marked messages then I get a second display with just messages for the email address showing on the application box. It is confusing and a duplication.

It is always helpful to receive help, to include your exact BlackBerry device model # and carrier name, so that when you have a question, that information won't need to be asked up front. Also, stating your device Operating System version is normally another common question, found on your BlackBerry at Options > About, third line down, looks like "v4.x.x.xxx"
1. When on the call, yo'll see at the lower left a keypad symbol. Press it to bring up the keypad.
If that doesn't appear or work, answer those above. There was one OS release way back that had a glitch of not allowing the keypad to show at all when calling.
2. Message.. as in email? Press and hold the lower left numeric symbol on the keypad a full second the numeric keypad will lock in. Press the Alpha character at the lower left again to revert back.
3. Most can be removed simple at Options > Advanced > Applications. Scroll to the application name and press Menu > Delete. Later OS releases will be at Options > Applications.
4. Answer my questions above about the model and OS. The Storm1 and 2, according to the OS release vary on this.

I need help on Features like wht are the list of feature one has to maintain on each sub modules like PA(Enterprise Structure), TM, Payroll n OM in case of Indian Payroll.

Hi,
If you go thorugh the IMG , you will find in each node a step to maintain a feature if it is vitally necessary.
Clue is to look for steps named "Maintain default"....
Alternatively go into PE03 and do f4.
Search this forum for similar questions as this has been asked in the past and several detailed answers given.
Some of the main fetaures in PA are ABKRS, PINCH, TARIF, LGMST, SCHKZ, NUMKR.
I do not want to list each and every posssible feature here, I would leave that as an exercise for yourself.
Not all of them are necessary and it really depends on your business requirements. If some business user says, Can I default that automatically on the screen, then you need to look for a feature in that area.

first, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. if it goes, good. if it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to itunes.
next, download and install the revo uninstaller http://http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html. use it to clear any existing itunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC.
next download itunes. it worked for me hope this is helpful!!
oonce you get into the revo uninstallergo thru to delete itunes hit uninstall on the itunes icon then you will go thru to it will tell u the same nmessage about the feature and network hit cancell then go thru and hit scan (make sure bthe advance scan button is pushed) this will take awhile but go thru the list and hit everything associated with itunes. hit delete then install itunes again. it worked for me hope it works for you!

I need Help with the dynamic link feature in CS3

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me with an issue I am having? I have the adobe cs3 master collection. Having watched tutorials on the dynamic link feature my version seems not to have the same options as those I have viewed. I wish to send my premiere video creation to encore using dynamic link, however when I click "file" and then "adobe dynamic link" the only options available are about "adobe after effects". I can export to encore however I am only alloowed to export one premiere sequence to one new encore file, I cannot create an encore file and import several premiere sequence into the same encore project. That means currently I can only have an encore creation with one premiere sequence in it, and I have no adobe dynamic link. Any help anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much for that guys but my premiere media encoder only lets me export as: MPEG1, MPEG1-VCD, MPEG2, MPEG2 blu-ray, MPEG2-DVD, MPEG2-SVCD, H.264, H.264 blu-ray, Adobe Flash Video, Quicktime, Real Media, Windows Media. Are any of these formats DV AVI?
Am I to export my videos direct to encore or save them elsewhere (e.g desktop). It seems that I cannot export sequences from different premiere projects to the same encore project.
Sorry if any of these questions seem obvious, I am just new to premiere and keen to do things right from the off.

Harm is correct. For SD DVD, exporting as a DV AVI file from Pr will give you good results. Encore's Automatic Transcoding will give you maximum quality for the available disc space.

I would suggest checking out http://www.logiforms.com. They have really good PDF support for both hosted PDF's and generating PDFs. You can:
populate PDF forms from a web form submission
Merge multiple PDF's together using conditional logic
Include uploaded images in the generated PDF
Get Electronic signatures on PDF's
Use conditional logic when creating PDF's
Convert HTML to PDF. You design in HTML and CSS and use form field wildcards and generate the PDF

Why would you not be able to use your existing Apple ID and iTunes account on a new laptop? If you authorized the computer - you should be able to use your existing account - unless you already had 5 computers authorized with the existing ID - and that was why iTunes would not accept the ID. However, I'm sure that you would have received a popup message from iTunes telling you that you had reached the limit.
I just received a new MBP and my daughter did as well. My entire family shares an Apple ID and we had no issues at all with my Apple ID and iTunes on our new computers and I did not have to sign up for a new account. Did you even try the old ID?

Just for clarity, "we" haven't taken your money - this is a user-to-user forum, and you're not talking to Adobe.
Like Rob I'm a Windows user, and - like him - I thought "uninstalling" on Macs was simply a case of trashing the application. Google would seem to concur.

Weird error message need help..

SO.. i havent updated my itunes in a while because i keep getting this weird message.. it comes up when im almost done installing the newest/newer versions of itunes. it says
"the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" "click ok to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in the box below"
now when ever i choose a file from the browse box it replies with this message "the file 'xxx' is not a valid installation package for the product iTunes. try to find the installation package iTunes.msi in a folder from which you can install iTunes."

With that one, let's try the following procedure.
First, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. If it goes, good. If it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to iTunes.
Next, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility:
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Now launch Windows Installer CleanUp ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"), find any iTunes and/or QuickTime entries in the list of programs in CleanUp, select those entries, and click “remove”.
Next, we'll manually remove any leftover iTunes or QuickTime program files:
(1) Open Local Disk (C:) in Computer or whichever disk programs are installed on.
(2) Open the Program Files folder.
(3) Right-click the iTunes folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
(4) Right-click the QuickTime folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. (Note: This folder may have already been deleted if QuickTime was successfully removed using Add/Remove Programs earlier.)
(5) Delete the QuickTime and QuicktimeVR files located in the C:\Windows\system32\ folder. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue. (Note: These files may have already been deleted if QuickTime was successfully removed using Add/Remove Programs earlier.)
(6) Right-click on the Recycle Bin and on the shortcut menu, click Empty Recycle Bin.
(7) Restart your computer.
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly now?

Need help with a currently "in-use" form we want to switch to Adobes hosting service

Hi, I am in desperate need of help with some issues concerning several forms which we currently use a paid third party (not Adobe) to host and "re-distribute through email"...Somehow I got charged $14.95 for YOUR service, (signed up for a trial, but never used it)..and now I am paying for a year of use of the similar service which Adobe is in control of. I might want to port my form distribution through Adobe in the hopes of reducing the errors, problems and hassles my customers are experiencing when some of them push our "submit button". (and I guess I am familiar with these somewhat from reading what IS available in here, and I also know that, Adobe is working to alleviate some of these " submit" issues, so let's don't start by going backwards, here) I need solutions now for my issues or I can leave it as is, If Adobe's solution will be no better for my end users...
We used FormsCentral to code these forms and it works for the most part (if the end-user can co-operate, and thats iffy, sometimes), but I need help with how to make it go through your servers (and not the third party folks we use now), Not being cruel or racist here, but your over the phone "support techs" are about horrible & I cannot understand them or work with any of them, so I would definitely need someone who speaks English and can understand the nuances of programming these forms, to please contact me back. (Sorry, but both those attributes will be required to be able to help me, so, no "newbie-interns" or first week trainees are gonna cut it).... If you have anyone who fits the bill on those items and would be willing to help us, please contact me back at your earliest convenience. If we have to communicate here, I will do that & I can submit whatever we need to & to whoever we need to.
I need to get this right and working for the majority of my users and on any platform and OS.

Well, thanks for writing back...just so you know...I started using Adobe products in 1987, ...yeah...back then...like Illustrator 1 & 9" B&W Macs ...John Warnock's Helvetica's....stuff like that...8.5 x 11 LaserWriters...all that good stuff...I still have some of it working on a mac...much of it was stuff I bought. some stuff I did not...I'm not a big fan of this "cloud" thing Adobe has foisted upon the creatives of the world...which I'm sure you can tell...but the functionality and usefulness of your software can not be disputed, so feel free to do whatever we will continue to pay for, ...I am very impressed with CC PS on the 64 bit PC and perhaps I will end up paying you the stipend that you demand for the other services.
So I guess that brings us to our problem.. a few years back and at the height of the recession and near bankruptcy myself, I was damn lucky and hit on something and began a small arts and crafts supply service to sell my products online to a very "niche market" ...I had a unique product and still sell that product (plus others) online...My website is www.vinylcouture.com...Strange? Yes...but there is a market it seems, for everything now, and this is the market I service...Catagorically, these are 99%+ women that use these "adhesive, sticky backed vinyl products" to make different "craft items" that are just way too various and numerous to go into... generally older women, women who are computer illiterate for the most part...and all this is irrelevant to my problem, but I want you to have every bit of background on this and especially the demographic we are dealing with, so we can get right to the meat of the problem.
OK...So about two years ago, I decided to offer a "plain sheet" product of a plain colored "stick back" vinyl... it is available in multiple quantities of packs ( like 5 pieces, 10 pieces, 15 pieces, in a packi & so on)...and if you are still on my site.. go to any "GO RIGHT TO OUR ORDER PAGE" button, scroll down a little...and then to the "PLAIN VINYL" section...you will see the Weebly website order process.) You can back out from here, I think,..but, anyway this product is available in 63 colors + or - a few. So then the problem is, how do they select their individual colors within that (whatever) pack?... .
So my initial idea was to enable a "selection form" for these "colors" that would be transmitted to me via email as 'part" of the "order process".. We tried getting our customers to submit a " a list" ( something my competitiors still do, lol, poor bastards)......but that..is just unbelievable..I can't even begin to tell you what a freakin' nightmare that was...these people cannot even count to 10, much less any higher... figuring out what colors to list and send me... well, lets just say, it wasn't working......I had to figure out a better way...Something had to be done.
So after thinking this all out, and yeah...due to my total ignorance, i figured that we could make a form with Live Cycle Designer (Now Forms Central)...(back then something that was bundled with Adobe Acrobat Pro), I believe, and thats what this thing was authored in... and it would be all good...LOL!
Well not so simple...as you well know, Adobe Acrobat would NOT LET YOU EMAIL anything from itself.....it just wouldn't work (and I know why, and all that hooey), but not being one to take NO for answer,.I started looking for a way to make my little gizmo work.. So I found this company that said they can "hijack" (re-direct actually) the request to email, bypass the wah-wah, and re-transmit it to the proper parties.....for less than $100 a year, I think...its called http://pdf-fillableforms.com/.
A nice gentleman named Joseph Silva helped us program the thing to go to his servers and back out. Please dont hassle them...I need them...for now..it basically does work...try it...you should get back a copy of the form that you filled out...good luck however, if you're on MAC OSX or similar...
I have included a copy of both of our forms (and feel free to fill it out and play with it)...just put test somewhere on it...(and you must include YOUR email or it will balk)..they are supposed to be mostly identical, except one seems to be twice as large....generating a 1.7 meg file upon submission, while the other one only generates a 600K file or so...thats another issue for another day or maybe you can advise on that also...
OK so far so good......In our shop, once Grandma buys a 10 pack (or whatever), Only then she gets to the link on her receipt page ro the relevant "selection form" ,(this prevents "Filling and Sending" with "no order" and "no payment", another early problem we had)... which they can click on and it will usually download and open up on their device if all goes well...Then our little form is supposed to be fillable and is supposed to ADD UP all the quantities, so grandma knows how many she is buying and so forth right on the fly, and even while she changes her mind..., and IT'S LARGE so grandma can see it, and then it TOTALS it all up for them, ( cause remember, they can NOT add).., except there is a programming bug (mouse-click should be a mouse-up probably or something..) which makes you click in the blank spaces to get to a correct TOTAL...about 70-80% of our customers can enable all these features and usually the process completes without problems for them especially on PC's running Windows OS and Acrobat Reader X or XI...at least for most... Unfortunately it is still not the "seamless process" I would like or had envisioned for the other folks out there that do have trouble using our form.... Many folks report to us the following issues that we know of. First of all it takes too much time to load up...We know its HUGE...is there anyway that you can see, to streamline this thing? I would love for it to be more compact...this really helps on the phones and pads as I'm sure you well know.
Some just tell us,"it WON'T work"....I believe this is because they are totally out of it and dont even have Adobe Reader on their machine, & don't know how to get it ( yes, we provide the links).....or it's some ancient version....no one can stop this one...
It almost always generates some kind ( at least one time) of "error message" which we do warn them about..., telling one, basically that "Acrobat doesnt even like this happening at all, and it could be detrimental to ones computer files", blah-blah...(this freaks grandma out really bad)...& usually they end up not even trying to send it... and then I get calls that even you wouldn't believe...& If they DO nut up and push the Red "Submit Form" button, it will usually send the thing to us (and also back to them at the "required email address" they furnished on the form, thats what the folks at the "fillable forms place" do) so, if it's performing it's functions, why it is having to complain?. What are we doing wrong?....and how can I fix it?...Will re-compiling it or saving it as a newer version of "FormsCentral" correct any of these problems ?
Ok, so that should keep you busy for a minute and we can start out with those problems...but the next thing is, how can I take advantage of YOUR re-direct & hosting services?, And will it get rid of the error messages, and the slowness, and the iOS incompatibilities ? (amazingly, the last iOS Reader version worked almost OK.. but the newest version doesnt seem to work with my form on my iphone4) If it will enable any version of the iOS to send my form correctly and more transparently, then it might be worth the money...$14.95 a MONTH you say. hmmmmm...Better be good.
Another problem is, that I really don't need 5000 forms a month submitted. I think its like 70-100 or less....Got any plans for that? Maybe I'm just not BIG ENOUGH to use Adobe's services, however in this case, I really don't care whose I do use as long as the product works most correctly for my customers as well as us. Like I said, If I'm doing the best I can, I won't change anything, and still use the other third party, If Adobe has a better solution, then i'm all for that as well. Have you forgotten your password? - if so, you have a problem if the email address has gone dead.
If you know your password, go to the iTunes Store, click on Account. log in and you can change the associated email address.
If you don't know your password, and have no email address, you are going to have problems because it's difficult to see how Apple are going to identify you as the authorised owner of the account. Contact iTunes Support: go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ - click on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'. You will see a link to either 'Express Lane', which will guide you eventually to some contact options, or you may see a link to email them.

Need help in writing a vbscript

I need help in wring a vbscript. I have serached for the vbscript on the net, but could not find any.
I need to add a file to an msi using vbscript. - That's the requirement.
For this I have done the following with the help of vbscript.
1. With the insert statement I inserted a new copmonent in the FeatureComponent Table.
2. Now the next thing I did is, I inserted a new row in the File table using insert statement again. The file is uncompressed.
3. Since the file is a non-version file I also added a row in the MSIFileHash table.
4. Also, now added the Component in the component table.
After doing this I am able to see the chnages in the mst, however whrn I try to install it I get an error 2725 (Invalid database tables).
Can somebody please post a vbscript which can add a file to an msi?

Yes, It is not so easy. I never said it was. Thanks for pointing out Orca. We use Orca on a daily basis.
What exactly I am looking at, is this.
We have some standard applications which needs to be repackaged every month. The repackaging process is same and does not change at least for these packages. So I was actually looking at automating these things.
What I did so far.
First we have created an object for Windows installer. I have then taken a copy of the original msi and then opened the database of this temporary msi database in transact mode. Once the database is opened we can use select, insert, update
and delete statements to update the database.
I could successfully add a registry to the msi. The component was also added successfully to the component table. I also could make changes to the Property table.
The tricky part comes with the addition of file to the file table.
The addition of file requires the following steps.
1. Add a new row to the file table. This can be done with the Insert statement.
2. We then need to associate the file to a new component or any other component already existing in the msi. In my case I am creating a new component.
3. We then have to associate this components to a feature in the FeatureComponents table.
4. Since the file I am adding is a non-versioned file, a new row also has to be added to the MSIFILEHASH table.
I could see the changes that I have done using the mst. But when I try to install the msi with the mst, I get the error 2725. I checked everything. All the other steps except for the file addition works fine.
To check whether I am indeed right, I have did this.
Skipped the file addition part to the msi. Every other change that I make works and I am able to install the msi with the mst successfully.
For obvious security reasons I will not be able to share the vbscript with you. If you guys think, that this is not a right forum for this question, please let me know the right forum. I have been stuck with this issue from the past 6 months. Any help would
really be appreciated.

We split up and now im trying to get all my apps and info onto my new laptop with a new account but it keeps asking me for the old apple ID which she is still using and she changed the password. i tried backing it up but still nohing. When i try to back up purchased items being apps etc its keeps asking for the old one. help

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. But you'll still need the password.
Once you have the computer authorized to use the account she could change the password again to stop you buying apps on her card (assuming it's not on yours!). It would lock you out of upgrading them too but they should work unless she uses the deathorize all feature.
It depends on how amicable the split is...
