Need help with keeping pictures in focus after transitions

I am fairly new to Final Cut X.
Right now I am making a DVD of just photos with music added.
I am using transitions between photos as well.
I'm having one problem:
When I play the movie in FC, during the transition from photo to photo my pictures look great and are clear, but when the transition is not happening and the picture is just showing it goes a bit blurry.
Can someone help me out with a solution for this?
Thanks, Adam

Highlight the song or songs you want to add the artwork to.
Click the Artwork button in the lower-left corner of the iTunes window (4th icon in).
The Artwork box will open.
Open the folder with the pictures in it from Windows Explorer
Drag the picture you want to the Artwork box from folder.
Press OK.
Alternatively:
Highlight the song or you want to add the artwork to.
Right click on it and choose Get Info
Then choose the Artwork tab
Choose Add and browse to the picture you want to add.
To add artwork to multiple items using Get Info
Open iTunes, highlight your selection (click on the first track in your list, hold down the shift key and click on the last).
Right click anywhere in the selection and choose Get Info
When you are asked if you want to edit multiple items say yes.
Drag your artwork to the small artwork box about halfway down on the right and choose OK.

    I have my post dont want to duplicate it

    The problem doesn't lie with your feed, although it does contain an error - you have given a non-existent sub-category. You need to stick to the categories and sub-categories listed here:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html#categories
    Subscribing to your feed from the iTunes Store page work as such, but the episodes throw up an error message. The problem lies with your episode media files: you are trying to stream them. Pasting the URL into a browser produces a download (where it should play the file) of a small file which does not play and in fact is a text file containing (in the case of ep.2) this:
    [Reference]
    Ref1=http://stream.riverratdoc.com/RiverratDoc/episode2.mp3?MSWMExt=.asf
    Ref2=http://70.33.177.247:80/RiverratDoc/episode2.mp3?MSWMExt=.asf
    You must provide a direct link to the actual mp3 file. Streaming won't work. The test is that if you paste the URL of the media file (as given in the feed) into the address bar of a browser it should play the file.

  • Needing help with moving pictures around

    I am in need of help in moving pictures and images around
    dreamweaver document window. My older brother gave me his computer
    witch has dreamweaver MX (he is in Irag) so i can start building
    building my own websites. I went to borders and bought a book on
    dreamweaver MX. Here is where I am having a problem with: when ever
    I bring a picture into the document window I can not move the
    picture around the document window. The book say "place the
    insertion point where you want the image to appear" but there is no
    insertion point. There is just a straight line as if I am about to
    type something. It's almost like I am in microsoft word. If I take
    the mouse over the picture , and then left click and try to drag
    the picture to the location I want it in, it doesn't move. Can
    somebody PLEASE help me out with this problem. Thanks Jical

    Nadia gave you a good place to start… Here is what you
    have to understand. Web pages are based on specific code that tells
    the viewer’s browser how to display the page. There has to be
    something that says, “Put this picture in the lower right
    hand corner, and center this image in the middle of the
    screen”
    Then there are further instructions that say “Put this
    text here and that link there”. So Dreamweaver (and most
    other web developing programs) do not work like Illustrator or
    PowerPoint where you can simply grab a picture and slide it around
    the page.
    In its simplest form you might drag an image onto the
    Dreamweaver design view page and click on the center button in the
    properties dialog.
    Then type in text and center it, left justify, right justify,
    etc. Add another picture and so on and you could possibly create a
    passable web page. Now click on the Code view button and see what
    code Dreamweaver generated in order to do all of this.
    That is what you will really need to understand before you
    can really get proficient at web design.
    At the next level, you can start to add in tables. These
    actually are similar to tables in Word. You can put text in one
    cell, images in another, colored backgrounds, thick and thin
    borders with contrasting colors, and you can start to see how to
    “contain” your images as Nadia suggests.
    Now look at the code again and see how these cells are
    defined around your content.
    Once you understand how this works, you will get much more
    comfortable with Dreamweaver. You will just have to get used to the
    idea that it doesn’t work like all of the publishing software
    that is only dependant upon its own format for layout. HTML is
    dependant upon the many browsers, computers, operating systems,
    user preferences, and a million other unknown factors.
    That’s why this forum has more than 91,000 posts…

  • Need help with finding picture size

    ok here is  my problem i have this sphere and it works great except when you click the thumbnails to display the picture, depending on the size of the picture, the pictures can get pushed to far over, and i understand why. the x and y coord never change. now my idea is to get the size of picture and use that to adjust the x-coord accordingly. my question is. how do i get the picture size? if i can. do the pictures have to be in the fla?
    heres code:
    The radius of the sphere, 'rad'. You can change it if you wish
    especially if you use thumbnails of a different size than our thumbnails.
    var rad:Number=380;
    The position of 'board' that will be defined later. 'board' is the main
    container containing the sphere and the black background
    that reponds to mouse actions.
    var posX:Number=stage.stageWidth/2;
    var posY:Number=stage.stageHeight/2;
    The size of thumbnails. Change the values to reflect the size of your
    images.
    var thumbWidth:Number=70;
    var thumbHeight:Number=53;
    The thumbnail images have been imported to the Library and linked to AS3
    under the names 'Small1', 'Small2',....,'Small46'. The corresponding
    Bitmap objects will be stored in the array 'thumbsArray'.
    var thumbsArray:Array=[];
    The addresses of the images corresponding to the thumbnails are stored
    in 'picsArray'. The images will be loaded at runtime when the user
    clicks on each thumbnail.
    var picsArray:Array=[];
    The Bitmap object corresponding to each thumbnail will be placed
    in a Sprite, holdersArray[i][j], as its child. We have to do this
    to make thumbnails responsive to mouse clicks.
    var holdersArray:Array=[];
    In order to depth-sort images on the sphere, we will need to keep
    track of their midpoints and the position of each midpoint in 3D.
    The midpoints will be stored in 'midsArray'.
    var midsArray:Array=[];
    The only part of our spherical menu that is hard-wired (and a bit harder
    to customize) is the number of thumbnails and their placement on the sphere.
    We have 46 thumbnails placed along 7 horizontal 'circles' on the sphere.
    The 'jLen' vector describes the number of thumbnails on each circle.
    The first 'circle' is the north pole and contains 1 image; the second
    is the circle corresponding to the vertical angle of 30 degrees
    from the negative y axis. That circle contains 6 images. The next one,
    at 60 degree of vertical displacement contains 10 images;
    the one after that, at 90 degrees from the negative y axis, is the equador
    of the sphere and contains 12 images. Past that, we go symmetrically:
    10, 6, and 1 image at the south pole.
    All our arrays are organized to reflect that placement of thumbnails.
    For example, thumbsArray is an array of arrays, thumbsArray[i], where
    i corresponds to the number of each circle. thumbsArray[i][j] is the
    j-th image on the i-th of the seven circles.
    var jLen:Vector.<Number>=new Vector.<Number>();
    jLen=Vector.<Number>([1,6,10,12,10,6,1]);
    We use the almost standard parametrization of a sphere:
    phi is the vertical angle measured from the vertical axis
    pointing upwards (in Flash's coordinate system this is the negative
    y-axis), theta is the horizontal angle measured from the
    horizontal axis pointing away from the screen; that is,
    the negative z-axis. phi changes from 0 to 90 degrees,
    theta from 0 to 360 degrees. For each circle, phi is constant:
    0, 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, 180. 'thetaStep' contains the angular
    distances between thumbnails on each circle. Except
    for the north and the south pole, for each circle
    the angular distance between thumbnails equals to 360 divided
    by the number of thumbnails on the circle.
    var thetaStep:Vector.<Number>=new Vector.<Number>();
    thetaStep=Vector.<Number>([0,60,36,30,36,60,0]);
    //The vertical angle between circles.
    var phiStep:Number=30;
    To make images tangent to the sphere, we need to tilt them
    vertically and horizontally. Horizontal tilt is always
    equal to the theta angle of the midpoint
    of the image and changes along each circle;
    the vertical tilt is based on the values
    of phi and is constant for each circle of thumbnails.
    var phiTilt:Vector.<Number>=new Vector.<Number>();
    phiTilt=Vector.<Number>([-90,-60,-30,0,30,60,90]);
    //The next four variables are related to auto-rotation
    //and rotation by the user.
    var autoOn:Boolean=true;
    var manualOn:Boolean=false;
    var prevX:Number;
    var prevY:Number;
    //The amount of perpective distortion. Higher values give more distortion.
    //Values have to be between 0 and 180 as they correspond to the view angle.
    this.transform.perspectiveProjection.fieldOfView=70;
    //We define and position the container 'board'.
    var board:Sprite=new Sprite();
    this.addChild(board);
    board.x=posX;
    board.y=posY;
    //We call the function that draws the border and the background
    //of 'board'.
    drawBoard();
    //Settings for our dynamic text boxes present on the Stage.
    infoBox.mouseEnabled=false;
    infoBox.wordWrap=true;
    infoBox.text="";
    loadBox.mouseEnabled=false;
    loadBox.wordWrap=true;
    loadBox.text="";
    loadBox.visible=false;
    When the user double-clicks on a thumbnail, the corresponding image
    will be loaded into 'loader' - an instance of the Loader class.
    'loader' is a child of the Sprite, 'photoHolder', which is a child
    of the MainTimeline.
    var photoHolder:Sprite=new Sprite();
    this.addChild(photoHolder);
    photoHolder.x=200;
    photoHolder.y=100;
    var loader:Loader=new Loader();
    photoHolder.addChild(loader);
    photoHolder.visible=false;
    We will literally 'build' a shere of thumbnails by positioning
    them in a Sprite called 'spSphere'. The moment we assign
    any of the 3D properties to 'spSphere', for example a value for the z coordinate,
    spSphere becomes a 3D container. That means we can place elements in it
    in 3D. We will also be able to apply 3D methods to 'spSphere', e.g. rotations.
    When 'spSphere' becomes a 3D display object, it has transfrom.matrix3D property.
    The latter property holds all the information about the current 3D state
    of 'spSphere'.
    var spSphere:Sprite=new Sprite();
    board.addChild(spSphere);
    spSphere.x=0;
    spSphere.y=0;
    //We move 'spSphere' backwards to avoid distortion of the front thumbnails.
    //You can experiment with different values for the z coordinate.
    spSphere.z=rad;
    //We call several functions defined later in the script.
    //They names tell it all.
    setUpPics();
    buildSphere();
    spSphere.rotationY=0;
    spSphere.rotationX=0;
    spSphere.rotationZ=0;
    spSphere.filters=[new GlowFilter(0x666666,1.0,6.0,6.0,2)];
    rotateSphere(0,0,0);
    setUpListeners();

    'picClicked' is executed when any of the thumbnails is double-clicked.
    Note that in the function 'buildSphere' below, we assigned names to
    all holders, holderArray[i][j]. We need those names now to know
    which thumbnail was clicked and which image to load.
    function picClicked(e:MouseEvent):void {

    //Listeners responsible for mouse rotations and auto-rotation.

                 zSortPics();
    function boardOut(e:MouseEvent):void {

                    if(!autoOn && manualOn){
                    prevX=board.mouseX;
                    prevY=board.mouseY;
                    rotateSphere(prevY-locY,-(prevX-locX),0);
                    e.updateAfterEvent();
    The function setUpPics populates the arrays thumbsArray and picsArray.
    Note the organization of thumbnails by circles on which they reside:
    thumbsArray[0] - the north pole, thumbsArray[1] thumbnails of the first circle
    down from the north pole, etc. 'picsArray' is organized similarly.
    You can, of course, subsitute your own images, use thumbnails of
    dimensions different from ours. Changing the number of thumbnails and their organization
    would, however, require rewritting the script a bit.

        thumbsArray[6]=[new Bitmap(new Small46(70,53))];
        picsArray[6]=["pic46.jpg"];
    In the next function we actually create a 3D sphere of thumbnails by positioning
    them in 3D within spSphere. Note the center of the sphere is at (0,0,0) of
    spSphere. It might be worth recalling that with our interpretation of
    phi and theta each point P=(x,y,z) on the sphere corresponding to given values
    of phi and theta is given by:
    x = rad * sin(phi) * sin(theta),
    y = -rad * cos(phi),
    z = -rad * sin(phi) * cos(theta).
    Within the function, we populate 'holdersArray' and 'midsArray'. We assign thumbnails
    to holdersArray elements, position holdersArray elements, tilt them, give them names.
    We literally build our sphere.
    function buildSphere():void {
        var i:int;
        var j:int;
        var tStep:Number;
        var pStep:Number=phiStep*Math.PI/180;
        for(i=0;i<7;i++){
            holdersArray[i]=[];
            midsArray[i]=[];
            tStep=thetaStep[i]*Math.PI/180;
            for(j=0;j<jLen[i];j++){
                midsArray[i][j]=new Vector3D(rad*Math.sin(i*pStep)*Math.sin(j*tStep),-rad*Math.cos(i*pStep),-rad*Math.sin(i*p Step)*Math.cos(j*tStep));
                holdersArray[i][j]=new Sprite();
                holdersArray[i][j].name="pic"+String(i)+"_"+String(j);
                holdersArray[i][j].addChild(thumbsArray[i][j]);
                thumbsArray[i][j].x=-thumbWidth/2;
                thumbsArray[i][j].y=-thumbHeight/2;
                spSphere.addChild(holdersArray[i][j]);
                holdersArray[i][j].x=midsArray[i][j].x;
                holdersArray[i][j].y=midsArray[i][j].y;
                holdersArray[i][j].z=midsArray[i][j].z;
                holdersArray[i][j].rotationX=phiTilt[i];
                holdersArray[i][j].rotationY=-j*thetaStep[i];
          zSortPics();
    'zSortPics' depth-sorts all thumbnails corresponding to each view of
    the sphere. It sorts thumbnails by removing them (or more precisely
    their holders, holdersArray[i][j], as children of spSphere and then reassigning
    them based on the z-coordinates of their midpoints.
    function zSortPics():void {
        var distArray:Array=[];
        var dist:Number;
        var i:int;
        var j:int;
        var k:int;
        var curMatrix:Matrix3D;
        var curMid:Vector3D;
        curMatrix=spSphere.transform.matrix3D.clone();
        while(spSphere.numChildren>0){
            spSphere.removeChildAt(0);
            for(i=0;i<7;i++){
                for(j=0;j<jLen[i];j++){
                curMid=curMatrix.deltaTransformVector(midsArray[i][j]);
                dist=curMid.z;
                distArray.push([dist,i,j]);
          distArray.sort(byDist);
          for(k=0;k<distArray.length;k++){
              spSphere.addChild(holdersArray[distArray[k][1]][distArray[k][2]]);
              holdersArray[distArray[k][1]][distArray[k][2]].alpha=Math.max(k/(distArray.length-1),0.5) ;

    The function that rotates the sphere in response to the user moving the mouse.
    Note we are setting the z coordinate to 0 before rotation. Otherwise,
    the non-zero translation coefficients produce undesirable effects.
    Note also that we do not use this function in 'autoRotate'. That is because
    when the sphere auto-rotates we want it to revolve about is pole-to-pole
    axis. That means prepending rather than appending rotation.
    See the function 'autoRotate' above.
    function rotateSphere(rotx:Number,roty:Number,rotz:Number):void {
          spSphere.z=0;
          spSphere.transform.matrix3D.appendRotation(rotx,Vector3D.X_AXIS);

    I won't be searching thru all that code to try to find something relevant to your post, but if you are using a Loader to load the images, you can get the width and height as soon as the loading is complete using the loader object (loader.width, loader.height).  You just need to wait until loading is complete, so you'll need a listener for that if you don't have one already.

  • Need help with Motion Tracking-button in After Effects CS6

    Hello I just bought After Effects cs6 and wanted to try ''motion tracking'' but I just can't push the motion tracking button. Is there anyone who can help me with that problem?
    Responses are highly appreciated!

    In order for the motion tracking buttons to become highlighted, you first need to select the clip you'd like to track in the timeline:

    If the iPhone was hacked and unlocked via unofficial means, it has become locked again. Insert original SIM in the phone to activate with iTunes.

  • Need help with a currently "in-use" form we want to switch to Adobes hosting service

    Hi, I am in desperate need of help with some issues concerning several forms which we currently use a paid third party (not Adobe) to host and "re-distribute through email"...Somehow I got charged $14.95 for YOUR service, (signed up for a trial, but never used it)..and now I am paying for a year of use of the similar service which Adobe is in control of.  I might want to port my form distribution through Adobe in the hopes of reducing the errors, problems and hassles my customers are experiencing when some of them push our  "submit button". (and I guess I am familiar with these somewhat from reading what IS available in here, and I also know that, Adobe is working to alleviate some of these " submit"  issues, so let's don't start by going backwards, here) I need solutions now for my issues or I can leave it as is, If Adobe's solution will be no better for my end users...
    We used FormsCentral to code these forms and it works for the most part (if the end-user can co-operate, and thats iffy, sometimes), but I need help with how to make it go through your servers (and not the third party folks we use now), Not being cruel or racist here, but your over the phone "support techs" are about horrible & I cannot understand them or work with any of them, so I would definitely need someone who speaks English and can understand the nuances of programming these forms, to please contact me back. (Sorry, but both those attributes will be required to be able to help me, so, no "newbie-interns" or first week trainees are gonna cut it).... If you have anyone who fits the bill on those items and would be willing to help us, please contact me back at your earliest convenience. If we have to communicate here, I will do that & I can submit whatever we need to & to whoever we need to.
    I need to get this right and working for the majority of my users and on any platform and OS.
    You may certainly call me to talk about this, and I have given my number numerous times to your (expletive deleted) time wasting - recording message thingy. So, If it's not available look it up under [email protected]
    (and you will probably get right to me, unlike my and I'm sure most other folks',  "Adobe phone-in experiences")
    Thank You,

    Well, thanks for writing back...just so you know...I started using Adobe products in 1987, ...yeah...back then...like Illustrator 1 & 9" B&W Macs ...John Warnock's Helvetica's....stuff like that...8.5 x 11 LaserWriters...all that good stuff...I still have some of it working on a mac...much of it was stuff I bought. some stuff I did not...I'm not a big fan of this "cloud" thing Adobe has foisted upon the creatives of the world...which I'm sure you can tell...but the functionality and usefulness of your software can not be disputed, so feel free to do whatever we will continue to pay for, ...I am very impressed with CC PS on the 64 bit PC and perhaps I will end up paying you the stipend that you demand for the other services.
    So  I guess that brings us to our problem.. a few years back and at the height of the recession and near bankruptcy myself,  I was damn lucky and hit on something and began a small arts and crafts supply service to sell my products online to a very "niche market" ...I had a unique product and still sell that product (plus others) online...My website is www.vinylcouture.com...Strange? Yes...but there is a market it seems, for everything now, and this is the market I service...Catagorically, these are 99%+ women that use these "adhesive, sticky backed vinyl products"  to make different "craft items" that are just way too various and numerous to go into... generally older women, women who are computer illiterate for the most part...and all this is irrelevant to my problem, but I want you to have every bit of background on this and especially the demographic we are dealing with, so we can get right to the meat of the problem.
    OK...So about two years ago, I decided to offer a "plain sheet" product of a plain colored "stick back" vinyl... it is available in multiple quantities of packs ( like 5 pieces, 10 pieces, 15 pieces, in a packi  & so on)...and if you are still on my site.. go to any  "GO RIGHT TO OUR ORDER PAGE"  button, scroll down a little...and then to the "PLAIN VINYL" section...you will see the Weebly website order process.) You can back out from here, I think,..but, anyway this product is available in 63 colors + or - a few. So then the problem is,  how do they select their individual colors within that (whatever) pack?... .
    So my initial idea was to enable a "selection form" for these "colors" that would be transmitted to me via email as 'part" of the "order process".. We tried getting our customers to submit a  " a list" ( something my competitiors still do, lol, poor bastards)......but that..is just unbelievable..I can't even begin to tell you what a freakin' nightmare that was...these people cannot even count to 10, much less any higher... figuring out what colors to list and send me... well, lets just say, it wasn't working......I had to figure out a better way...Something had to be done.
    So after thinking this all out,  and yeah...due to my total ignorance, i figured that we could make a form with Live Cycle Designer (Now Forms Central)...(back then something that was bundled with Adobe Acrobat Pro), I believe, and thats what this thing was authored in... and it would be all good...LOL!
    Well not so simple...as you well know, Adobe Acrobat would NOT LET YOU EMAIL anything from itself.....it just wouldn't work (and I know why, and all that hooey), but not being one to take NO for answer,.I started looking for a way to make my little gizmo work.. So I found this company that said they can "hijack" (re-direct actually) the request to email, bypass the wah-wah, and re-transmit it to the proper parties.....for less than $100 a year,  I think...its called http://pdf-fillableforms.com/.
    A nice gentleman named Joseph Silva helped us program the thing to go to his servers and back out. Please dont hassle them...I need them...for now..it basically does work...try it...you should get back a copy of the form that you filled out...good luck however,  if you're on MAC OSX or similar...
    I have included a copy of both of our forms (and feel free to fill it out and play with it)...just put test somewhere on it...(and you must include YOUR email or it will balk)..they are supposed to be mostly identical, except one seems to be twice as large....generating a 1.7 meg file upon submission, while the other one only generates a 600K file or so...thats another issue for another day or maybe you can advise on that also...
    OK so far so good......In our shop, once Grandma buys a 10 pack (or whatever), Only then she gets to the link on her receipt page ro the relevant "selection form" ,(this prevents "Filling and Sending"  with "no order" and "no payment", another early problem we had)... which they can click on and it will usually download and open up on their device if all goes well...Then our little form is supposed to be fillable and is supposed to ADD UP all the quantities, so grandma knows how many she is buying and so forth right on the fly,  and even while she changes her mind..., and IT'S LARGE so grandma can see it, and then it TOTALS it all up for them, ( cause remember, they can NOT add)..,  except there is a programming bug (mouse-click should be a mouse-up probably or something..) which makes you click in the blank spaces to get to a correct TOTAL...about 70-80% of our customers can enable all these features and usually the process completes without problems for them especially on PC's running Windows OS and Acrobat Reader X or XI...at least for most... Unfortunately it is still not the "seamless process" I would like or had envisioned for the other folks out there that do have trouble using our form....  Many folks report to us the following issues that we know of.  First of all it takes too much time to load up...We know its HUGE...is there anyway that you can see, to streamline this thing? I would love for it to be more compact...this really helps on the phones and pads as I'm sure you well know.
    Some just tell us,"it WON'T work"....I believe this is because they are totally out of it and dont even have Adobe Reader on their machine, & don't know how to get it ( yes, we provide the links).....or it's some ancient version....no one can stop this one...
    It almost always generates some kind ( at least one time)  of "error message" which we do warn them about..., telling one,  basically that "Acrobat doesnt even like this happening at all, and it could be detrimental to ones computer files", blah-blah...(this freaks grandma out really bad)...& usually they end up not even trying to send it...  and then I get calls that even you wouldn't believe...& If they DO nut up and push the Red "Submit Form" button, it will usually send the thing to us (and also back to them at the "required email address" they furnished on the form, thats what the folks at the "fillable forms place" do) so, if it's performing it's functions, why it is having to complain?. What are we doing wrong?....and how can I fix it?...Will re-compiling it or saving it as a newer version of "FormsCentral" correct any of these problems ?
    Ok, so that should keep you busy for a minute and we can start out with those problems...but the next thing is, how can I take advantage of YOUR re-direct & hosting services?, And will it get rid of the error messages, and the slowness, and the iOS incompatibilities ? (amazingly,  the last iOS Reader version worked almost OK.. but the newest version doesnt seem to work with my form on my iphone4)  If it will enable any version of the iOS to send my form correctly and more transparently, then it might be worth the money...$14.95 a MONTH you say. hmmmmm...Better be good.
    Another problem is, that I really don't need 5000 forms a month submitted. I think its like 70-100 or less....Got any plans for that?  Maybe I'm just not BIG ENOUGH to use Adobe's services, however in this case, I really don't care whose I do use as long as the product works most correctly for my customers as well as us. Like I said, If I'm doing the best I can, I won't change anything, and still use the other third party, If Adobe has a better solution, then i'm all for that as well. In the meantime, Thanks for any help you can provide on this...

    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the div. The elements within this div have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You may also choose to remove the padding on the element in the div and place a second div within it with no width and the padding necessary for your design.

    Look at all the apdiv's you have.  Those are absolutely positioned layers.  I'm assuming by your post that you are very new to Dreamweaver and HTML and CSS.  I would highly recommend not using absolutely positioned layers until you have a better grasp on HTML and CSS.
    Looking at your code I would suggest that you consider using one of Dreamweaver's built in, or downloadable templates as a starting point and work from there.

  • Need help with installation

    I recently received a laptop from school to access my online classes.  When I tried to use Adobe Reader I received the following message:  Adobe Reader 9.1 has encountered a problem and needs to close.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  I tried tech support at school and was told to uninstall and reinstall the program.  During the installation process I received the following error:  Error 1321 The installer has insufficient privileges to modify the file C:/Program Files/Adobe/Reader 9.0/Reader/Onix32dll. I need this program for school.  Can some one please help me.

    Hello again, Michael,
    Was unable to do the UAC changes.  Buttons where not highlighted.  I just went ahead and uninstalled Adobe and downloaded Foxitsoftware and it works.   Thanks for all your help Michael you have made my online school experience better.
    Sincerely,
    Sherri Lee

    Subject: Need help with installation
    Hello again, Sherri:
    It's my pleasure to provide assistance when I can :•) Having just recently graduated after 7 years of effort just to get a 2-year degree, I can relate to needing software to get class work accomplished. I will do everything I can to make it happen for you today.
    Since you didn't mention, the UAC setting, I'd like you to disable it for me if it isn't already:
    1. Open Control Panel
    2. Under User Account and Family settings, click on the "Add or remove user account"
    3. Click on any user account
    4. Under the user account click on the "Go to the main User Account page" link.
    5. Under "Make changes to your user account", click on the "Change security settings" link
    6. In the "Turn on User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure" click to unselect the "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer". Click on the Ok button.
    7. You will be prompted to reboot your computer - do so when ready
    You may need to uninstall/reinstall Reader after the reboot in order for the problem to go away, but that part I am not certain of. Try to duplicate the issue prior to taking that step.
    If you are unable to resolve issues with Adobe Reader, I recommend using a different reader that has much less bloat and is updated regularly:
    http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/
    FoxIT is a FREE alternative to using Adobe's Reader. Support for free Adobe products is limited forums such as this. The same holds true for open source alternatives except the manufacturer usually helps support their forums while Adobe doesn't monitor this forum or any like it. I know how important it is for you to focus on your classes so don't beat your head against a wall just because Reader won't work when a viable solution exists.
    Best of success in your pursuit of knowledge!

  • Need help with threads?.. please check my approach!!

    Hello frnds,
    I am trying to write a program.. who monitors my external tool.. please check my way of doing it.. as whenever i write programs having thread.. i end up goosy.. :(
    first let me tell.. what I want from program.. I have to start an external tool.. on separate thread.. (as it takes some time).. then it takes some arguments(3 arguments).. from file.. so i read the file.. and have to run tool.. continously.. until there are arguments left.. in file.. or.. user has stopped it by pressing STOP button..
    I have to put a marker in file too.. so that.. if program started again.. file is read from marker postion.. !!
    Hope I make clear.. what am trying to do!!
    My approach is like..
    1. Have two buttons.. START and STOP on Frame..
    START--> pressed
    2. check marker("$" sign.. placed in beginning of file during start).. on file..
         read File from marker.. got 3 arg.. pass it to tool.. and run it.. (on separate thread).. put marker.. (for next reading)
         Step 2.. continously..
    3. STOP--> pressed
         until last thread.. stops.. keep running the tool.. and when last thread stops.. stop reading any more arguments..
    Question is:
    1. Should i read file again and again.. ?.. or read it once after "$" sign.. store data in array.. and once stopped pressed.. read file again.. and put marker ("$" sign) at last read line..
    2. how should i know when my thread has stopped.. so I start tool again??.. am totally confused.. !!
    please modify my approach.. if u find anything odd..
    Thanks a lot in advance

    Hello,
    I have no experience with threads or with having more than run "program" in a single java file. All my java files have the same structure. This master.java looks something like this:
    ---master.java---------------------------------------------------
    import java.sql.*;
    import...
    public class Master {
    public static void main(String args []) throws SQLException, IOException {
    //create connection pool here
    while (true) { // start loop here (each loop takes about five minutes)
    // set values of variables
    // select a slave process to run (from a list of slave programs)
    execute selected slave program
    // check for loop exit value
    } // end while loop
    System.out.println("Program Complete");
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("Error: " + e);
    } finally {
    if (rSet1 != null)
    try { rSet1.close(); } catch( SQLException ignore ) { /* ignored */ }
    connection.close();
    -------end master.java--------------------------------------------------------
    This master.java program will run continuously for days or weeks, each time through the loop starting another slave process which runs for five minutes to up to an hour, which means there may be ten to twenty of these slave processes running simultaneously.
    I believe threads is the best way to do this, but I don't know where to locate these slave programs: either inside the master.java program or separate slave.java files? I will need help with either method.
    Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • I need help with tracking

    Ok the video that you can see on my youtube is the one I need help with. The video is actually in 1080p and I have no idea why it is showing in such a low resolution, but that is not the problem. I need to track the gun and add a null to that track, after that I want to add a red solid layer and bring down its opacity a little, to simulate a laser sight from the gun.Then I tried to parent and SHIFT parent the red solid to the track, the end product would have to look like what you can see in the picture. I have watched a TON of videos about tracking and just can not the the result I need. the laser needs to follow the gun as I aim up and bring the gun down. How should I do this.......? Please someone help or link me a tutorial that will be helpful.....

    You have a couple of problems. First you don't need to use shift parent, just parent. Second, your red solid is a 3D layer and you have applied 2D tracking info to the solid. Actually, there's another mistake and it is in the tracking. You should also be tracking scale because the gun moves from left to right as well as up and down. This changes the distance between the front and back tracking points.
    My workflow with this project would be:
    Track Motion of the front and back of the gun including position, scale and rotation
    Apply the track info to a null called GunTrack or something like that
    Add a solid and apply the beam effect or mask the red solid to simulate the shape of a laser sight
    Change the blend mode of the solid to ADD
    Move the anchor point to the center of the starting point of the laser
    Parent the solid to the Gun Track null
    That should do it.

    Where can I find a breakdown of my BT rental charges?
     The rental charges (sometimes called service charges) shown on your bill are for line rental, plus any additional services such as Calling Features. You're charged for these in advance.
    You can view your current rental charges online when you sign up for My BT.
    I recently changed my package and think I've been charged twice
    When you change your telephone calling plan, calling feature, broadband or BT Vision package, you may get a bill that's confusing or looks like you've been charged twice.
    Don't worry, you won't be charged twice. We charge in advance for our services, so you'll see charges for both your old and new services on the bill, even though your old service has been cancelled. You'll be refunded what you paid in advance for your old service on the same bill that shows the advance charges for your new service.
    This can also happen when we rename or re-price our products and services. You should see that you've been refunded for the old product name and then charged the same price for the new product name.
    Example:
    Below is an example of what you might see if you change your package after your bill is issued.
    Mr. Smith is on the Unlimited Evening and Weekend Plan and is charged in advance for his service. This is shown on the bill he gets every three months.
    Mr. Smith's bill is issued on 1st May and will show the standard advance charges from 1st May to the 31st July, as shown below.
    On the May 23rd Mr. Smith calls BT to change from the Unlimited Evening and Weekend Plan to the Unlimited Anytime Plan. Because he's already been charged for the Unlimited Evening and Weekend Plan on the bill from the 1st May, the changes he's made will be shown on his next bill.
    When Mr. Smith's next bill is produced on 1st August, he can see the changes to his rental charges. You can see from the highlighted area on the bill pictured below that Mr. Smith has been refunded the charges he's paid in advance for his old Unlimited Evening and Weekend Plan.
    This refund is from the time Mr. Smith changed the package (23rd May) until the end of the previous billing period (31st July). The refunded amount shows as -£35.63.
