Need JUST Creative Remote Center (Audigy Platinum

I need to install just the Creative Remote Center, but of course because of the way that Creative bundles all its drivers together ("Oh you want to install that optional component now? Here, let me install these years-old drivers and some other useless crap you don't want!") I am unable to do so off the CD. Could someone provide just the Creative Remote Center, or a link to a viable alternati've that will work? I tried copying the Setup.exe and _Setup.dll from \Audio\English\Setup to a directory on my hard dri've that contained a copy of everything in \Audio\English\Remote and was told that "Setup requires a different version of Windows. Error 02." This is running Windows XP SP. Compatibility modes to not affect this message.

It sounds like the card isn't installing correctly, when it is installed it should be listed in the Device Manager with the correct name (so not a generic audio device or unknown device). It would be best to disable your onboard audio to make sure that won't conflict.
What happens when you run the installation CD? Does it seem to install the driver? It may help to uninstall the card, and move it to another slot if it isn't getting picked up correctly. It'll force it onto other resources, reinstall the CD then.
When the card is installed, check in Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices. The card should be listed there so you can select it as the preferred device (for playback and recording).

Im having issues with this card when I bought it it was great but now after reformats and installing from the software disc I frist recieve an error saying it cant find the remote reciever then I recieve an exclamation mark next to the audio media controller in system device manager although my sound still works on desktop (but not using computer based programs like cubase sx 3)....thinking it was may be needing an update I came to the website and it told me to update to all latest driver and patches to which I did..rebooted and still same problem this time added problem being I have no sound at all. So why? has this all of a sudden happend... I am coumputer literate enought to uninstall all older software before installing new software from this website but all to no avail...why is there no audio media controller in all the software thats available to download from here... Ive also tried having the realtek audio 97AC driver installed before installing all creative software and also installing it after installing all media from creative but either way it tells you to?uninstall this driver as it can cause conflicts to which I do and its still no sound ?..it resolves the issue of the exclamation mark next to audio media controller in device manager but theres still no sound...So why dont I get any errors when installing the software from the disc it all goes smooth then gives me the no remote reciever detected (tried new batteries in it)....then again same problem with audio media controller...please help me as this card at the time of buying cost me nearly ?200....

  • Need application software for Audigy Platinum

I just re-installed my Audigy Platinum card and dri've into an XP SP3 system, downloaded the latest drivers from Creative and it works just fine (ty Creative!). I even used the optical out connection to my Denon 5. AVR and it sounds great.
However, I don't have any of the application software and can't seem to download that software from the website without having some old application software already installed. Is there a work around?
I do have the original disk for the following Creative cards (which I also own):
    Sound Blaster 6 PCI (part # 220ML0003020)
    Sound Blaster Li've!? (part # 220ML0003060)
    Sound Blaster AWE64 (part # 73330530-)
I'm reluctant to try installing any of the applications from these disks in order to enable the appropriate application software to be downloaded/installed off the web, as I don't want to risk messing up the present clean driver installation. I did try putting the disks in the dvd dri've to see if that would enable the download/install process (this has worked with other products) to no avail.
I would very much like to have the complete set of applications for this still excellent card/dri've so I can enjoy the full functionality of the Audigy Platinum.
Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    John W. Wright

    THANK YOU FOR THE ISO!!!
    It worked flawlessly.
However, I did a messy job of installing it. I had installed the beta drivers before using the iso, and then when I installed the CD and its drivers none of the utilities worked. I then tried uninstalling the utilities but the installation stalled and failed repeatedly. Luckily, I had the option to system restore, but it was on a save point in the middle of installation. So its a pretty sloppy job.
One thing: when switching between modules (EQ, or volume control, or EAX); there is a 6 second wait.
Also, EAX reverb does not work well on Soundfonts (very faint reverb, but definetely not sufficient).
But thank you very much for saving my life.

  • When is Creative Entertainment Center coming to the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum P

    <SPAN>Hi all
<SPAN>Does anybody know if/when Creative Entertainment Center is coming to the Audigy 2 ZS platinum PRO. I have seen it running on the Audigy 4 PRO/ X-Fi on review sites and it appears to be a lot better than our Remote Centre had has a lot more functionality as well as charisma (the graphics look good to).
<SPAN>Are us Audigy 2 ZS Platinum PRO users going to receive this wonderful package, or is it going to be just for those who are privileged to own the X-Fi or the Audigy 4 PRO.
    <SPAN>Thanks for any information/updates

Creative doesnt seem to hav plans to release Entertainment center for Audigy 2 ZS. But theres a way to install and use Entertainment center with AUDIGY 2 ZS Platinum/Pro. I first installed the Audigy 4 Modded PAX drivers for Audigy2 ZS with all softwares(i downloaded Audigy 4 ISO) , Then i uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled Audigy 2 ZS drivers , and again installed Entertainment Center, Guess what now Audigy 4 doesnt prompt me that i dont have the required HARD WARE before installation starts, and i can install ny Audigy 4 software(nothing much new though , only Entertainment center and Smart Recorder). and i am now enjoying Entertainment CENTER with my Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and with Audigy 2 drivers!!!!.
I think its not proper on part of CREATIVE not to release Ent. Center for Audigy 2, as the IO box and remote control of Audigy 2 and Audigy 4 are the same( RM-500 remote). so wats the point in keeping Ent. Center just for Audigy 4 and Up?
BELOW IS MY ANALYSIS OF ENTERTAINMENT CENTER, just giving the pros and cons so that Audigy 2 Platinum/Pro Users can decide whether its GOOD or NOT
    On the PLUS SIDE
    + it has nice interface
    + Good handling of playlists
    +DVD Playback
    +Slideshow and presentation support
    On the NEAGATIVE SIDE
    - Every time u want to perform PAUSE, NEXT TRACK, PREVIOUS TRACK operations the Ent. Center pops up as a FULL screen app. interupting u r current TASK
    - Also it is not integrated with MEDIA SOURCE Player,(i.e when u start playing song with ent. center it doesnt get layed with MEDIASOURCE so not DTS Neo:6 Playback!!!)
-Even the Press of CMSS button takes u to the full screen app. again causing INTERRUPTION!!!!!
    - Doesn't Have a SEARCH option to search for tracks from thee Library
    - No BASS/TREBLE/BALANCE Control thru. it

  • Replacement for Inspire 5700 + Creative Audigy Platinum

    Hi,
for many years I have been using a combination of a Creative Audigy Platinum soundcard with a Creative Inspire 5.1 Digital 5700 speaker system. I am very pleased with the quality, compatibility and easy-to-useness of this system. For games and music, I let the soundcard do the decoding and send the bits via digital connection to the Inspire system, which I set to 5.1 DIN. For DVDs, I send everything via SPDIF and let the Inspire do the decoding, either DTS or Dolby digital. Works just perfectly.
Only problem: if everything works according to the plan, I will move from Europe to the States in two months and stay there for - 3 years. Because desktop computers and probably also my Inspire 5700 system are quite tricky to ship, I decided to buy a laptop here and buy another speaker system by creative after I have a arrived in the states. Full of anticipation I checked this site to choose my future system and ... was struck by shock:
I couldn't find any system which offered the same features as the Digital 5700! All modern systems lack digital input, leave alone an external decoder and have primitive wire-remotes instead of real remotes! Why has this kind of great system disappeared? Of course you cannot buy the good old 5700 anymore, which leaves me with a great problem of how to organize a system which offers similar quality and features.
I originally planned to connect my laptop (ASUS A8JS) via S/PDIF to the new inspire 5.1 speaker set, which would then do the job of decoding digital audiostreams coming from DVDs. But well, since the new Inspire sets neither support S/PDIF nor offer external decoding, that idea has been flushed down the toilet
What do you recommend instead? I guess I will need a USB Sound Blaster in combo with an inspire speaker set. What will provide the same quality to what I had? What are the drawbacks of not having digital connections any more? How can I control sound levels of the subwoofer, center and rearspeakers, if there is no external decoder anymore? Only via software?
Thank you very much for any advice!

Thank you very much for your helpful replies! Future looks much brighter now
Where have you found the Audigy 2 NX? On their webpage, creative only list the USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor or the Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit External as USB-solutions. Since I don't need the video editing capability, the Audigy 2 ZS would probably be quite an overkill. Still, the price difference between Audigy ($250) and Life! ($50) is ... drastic! Besides the video stuff and some connections, what else is the Life! solution missing? Does it have poor quality? Is there no real 3D sound, just some kind of upmixing? It's not very clear from the specifications.
The Logitech Z-5500 Digital looks very promising, too. A consequent improvement of the Inspire D-5700, just by the competition I may go for that one, but probably still need an external soundcard for 3D-sound in games.
I am not exactly an expert considering connections. So, my laptop will already have digital S/PDIF built into the headphone plug. Just from the look, I'd say this is the same kind of plug which is called "Analog/Digital-Out" on my old Audigy sound card. Now, the logitech system supports digital optical or digital coaxial as source input. Will this work with the S/PDIF headphone out, or would it require the DIN connection you mentionned? Could this be easily solved by buying an adaptor?
Looking at the picture showing the connections of the SB Life! I again am not clear at all what kind of connections there are (http://us.creative.com/products/prod...Specifications ). Is there anything compatible with the Logitech system? I guess it's no question the Audigy2 ZS is equipped with the required connections.
So, to summarize my question: could I digitally connect either my laptop or the SB Live! 24-bit external with the Logitech Z-5500, so that the latter would take care of decoding Dolby Digital and DTS sound, while the sound blaster would provide EAX and 3D sound for games?
I have also seen that Creative Labs still offers an external decoder with a lot of connection possibilities. It's just no longer part of a speaker system, but rather a standalone product: the Creative Decoder DDTS-100 for $30. Together with a good speaker system, this may be an alternative to the logitech solution, in terms of enabling to plug in other devices than just a computer (another thing I really loved about my old system).
Well, again thank you very much for your advice!

  • Sound blaster Audigy Remote Control / Remote Center in Windows 7

    @Hey Folks,
I have an Audigy Platinum with a remote control and version .46 of the Remote Center software.
Remote center has extremely limited functioning under windows 7 - I can eject the CD player, turn on/off clock
display, everything else either displays N/A in the overlay or gets no response (hitting the remote 'start' button for instance).
Is there a newer version of Remote Center that may have more functionality in Windows 7? I know of commercial software but I'd prefer a solution via creative labs or free and open source software if available. I have searched for newer versions of Remote Center but seem to be stuck with the version that came on my CD. Any suggestions?
    thanks,
    jd

zac,You need to get the Vista apps for your X-fi. Either pull the ISO files off torrent or one of the other sites or pay the $7.00 shipping fee for the CD from Creative. Install the entertainment center off the CD and you'll have remote control functionality. Steve

  • Creative Audigy Platinum Installation Help with Pentium 4 3.2GHz HT Enab

    :mansad:
Dear Fellows,I have recently upgraded to a new Pentium 4 machine. The config is as follows:Pentium 4 3.2eGHz MB cache HT (Hyper-Threading Enabled)Intel Original 865GBF MainboardGB Kingston DDR 400MHz RAM20GB SATA WD HDDSound Blaster Audigy PlatinumATI RADEON 8500 DV 64MBThe problem I am facing is with Audigy Platinum. Once I install the operating system (Win XP) and move to the installation of Creative Audigy Platinum Sound card. All the applications are installed and the system hangs while updating *drivers*. I restarted but it corrupts the whole operating system conflicting with Display Driver, Mainboard driver as well as Windows. CD/DVD Rom also disappear. I then reinstalled operating system again. I would like to request for help and solving this issue and I dont want to get rid of Creative Audigy. I have heard complaints with Hyper-threading technology but I disabled it and the same problem occured. I tried everything e.g. latest drivers from Creative website, BIOS updates, Driver updates etc etc. The problem starts once the drivers are to be updated for Creative Audigy Platinum.Anticipating your response soon.Regards,

    Hi Jeremy,
I would like to thank you for your kind assistance with my problem.
Heres the good news, I finally managed to install and run my Creative Audigy Platinum perfectly.
Credit goes to your assitance and support.
For your info, I would like you to know what I really did.
I have an Intel Genuine 865GBF mainboard. I installed clean copy of Windows XP (SP) and downloaded and installed latest Chipset INF utility from Intel website. I guess this utility tells the mainboard what kind of hardware is configured on the board.
Please note that I did not add any PCI card except the AGP graphics card.
After finishing Windows XP, I installed the Creative Audigy Card in a different PCI slot. When windows started, it detected the sound card installed.
I simply ran the driver and programs from the Creative CD and it installed perfectly. I then updated the drivers downloaded from the Sound Blaster site in correct order.
After finishing with Creative Audigy Platinum installation. I installed other hardware devices, service packs, AV and applications.
Its the third day and everything is running well.
I just wrote the steps if someone else faces the same problem, he/she can sort it out the same way.
    Thanks again for your help.
    Best regards,

When I open Muse, I get a message that a new update is available.  When I hit install it just closes and nothing happens.  Then I got a message  I needed Adobe Creative Cloud App to resolve the issue.  I downloaded a copy of Creative Cloud desktop but it says that my Muse is up to date.  It was last updated in May but you have a new update today and it will not update.  I thought maybe I am not suppose to have the Creative Cloud update because all I have is the individual app Muse and the photography program.  So I uninstalled the CC desktop.  Then when I open Muse it says I need the CC desktop to help with the update.  So I get stopped either way.  Now I also had a Pre-Release Muse on my computer and I don't know if that complicated things.  Please advise.

All future installs/updates of Muse (and most other Adobe apps) are through the Creative Cloud desktop app. Thus you do need to have it installed.
Are you on Windows or Mac? What OS version?

  • Dolby 5.1 with Windows 7 using an Audigy Platinum EX

    Hello.
    Long story short.
I've mashed together three old PC's to make one reasonably ok one as a media center.
I have an old MSI motherboard, running an AMD XP 2.GB Chip with .25GB of Ram and an AGP Video card (Soon to be upgraded to an ATI 4850 AGP Card with HDMI out.
My trusty Audigy Platinum EX has been re used (again!) and after finding some drivers, everything seems to be ok!
    What's the problem you ask?
I cant seem to get true 5. surround, via the on board optical out (speaker calibration wont play front centre, sub or rear speakers.)
I'm running the lot through a Creative 5. Inspire speaker system (using the optical input) if i let the Inspire system sort out the sound, I can get surround, but only if i switch on the 5. manually, and like I said, it won't play via the speaker test in windows or the creative consul on screen.
Am I missing something real simple, or is this an issue anyone else has had dealings with?
Also (as if that weren't enough) there doesn't seem to be any support for the EAX and ESS systems, and I cant use the remote control that came with the Platinum EX.
If anyone can offer any sugestions, I'd be most grateful.
    With Thanks.
    Andrew. (UK)

    Hello again.
I've got hold of a Vista Support Pack that supposedly fixes loads of the issues I've got with an old card on Windows 7, I've pasted the notebook specs and details that came with it, and if you've any idea how I can put a downloud link on this forum so you can download it from me, you are more than welcome to try it. I'm not knowledged enough to put a link on here, but others have done it, so it must be possible... Any Ideas?
    Here Goes!!!
Sound Blaster Audigy series Vista Support Pack - Compiled on Feb 24 2008 by Daniel Kawakami

    * 02/24/2008:
    - Finally fixed Speakers and CMSS setting synchronization, so Audio Center was removed.
    - Completely uninstall the previous version, including all applications, before installing this one.
    * 02/2/2008:
    - Under certain circunstances, Speakers and CMSS setting are still not synchronized.
    - Now includes the full featured Creative Graphic Equalizer, with Preset saving, see screenshot below.
    * 02/9/2008:
    - Changed the driver version from v2.5.0004B to v2.5.0004EQ (with Equalizer).
    - Windows speaker settings are now synchronized with Audio Console / Speaker Settings speaker configuration.

    - Completely uninstall the previous release before installing this one.
Supports both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista (including Service Pack ).

    - Windows Security warning during driver installation
When prompted with ?Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software?, choose ?Install this driver software anyway?.
    - MediaSource DVD-Audio Player requires Audigy 2 or better
Do not install if you have the first Audigy model.
The application does not support Windows Vista 64-bit and setup will close with an error message.
    - WaveRT Pull Mode enabled by default
Does not seem to cause any problems, but if you ever need to disable it, follow these steps:
    - run the Registry Editor (Regedit) and open the following registry tree:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class
    - select Search (or press the F3 key) and type EnableWaveRTPullMode, deleting the value when found.
    Restart the computer.
For more information on WaveRT, access:
    <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/audio/wavertport.mspx"]http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/audio/wavertport.mspx[/url]
    - Built-in Decoder (requires Windows Vista Service Pack )
To use the built-in decoder, make sure it is enabled in Audio Console.
Select ?SPDIF Out (Creative SB Audigy (WDM))? as the output device of
your player and then configure the AC3/DTS filter to send the stream
    through SPDIF.
When you restart your computer, the Tone settings (Bass and Treble) are not applied.
Just readjust one of the controls one time per boot.
    - EAX effects, Advanced EQ and Special FX
EAX effects only work in 4., 5. e 7. speaker settings.
Advanced EQ and Special FX only work in 2. speakers or Headphone settings.
    - EAX effects, Advanced EQ and Special FX (Using SPDIF Out)
All effects work properly, but when you restart your computer, the Tone settings (Bass and Treble) are not applied.
Just readjust one of the controls one time per boot.
    - There is no sound in games with OpenAL support or using Creative ALchemy
Disable Advanced EQ and Special FX selecting ?No effects? before running the game or program.
    - Equalizer settings are lost
It happens after you run a game with OpenAL support or using Creative ALchemy. This issue also occurs in Windows XP, so it is not specific to this Windows Vista driver.
When you restart the computer or run Equalizer, the saved setting is automatically loaded.
    - No sound when CMSS is enabled using Audio Console (4. or more speakers)
Just move the Stereo Focus slider and set it back to the desired position, even if it is 0 (zero). Once the setting is saved, works properly. This issue does not affect EAX Settings.
    - Windows Vista MIDI Device Configuration Utility
Use this utility to change the MIDI playback device for 32-bit and 64-bit applications.
The driver installer automatically selects the first hardware MIDI synthesizer found.
Note: The Audigy 2 ZS Notebook (PCMCIA) does not have a hardware synthesizer.
    Some screenshots:
    - Equalizer:
    - Stereo Surround:
    - Decoder:
    - Mplayer Classic: select ?SPDIF Out (Creative SB Audigy (WDM))? as the output device of
    your player
    - Mplayer Classic: configure the AC3/DTS filter to send the stream through SPDIF
    - Hardware MIDI:
Hope this is of some help?
Let me know if you've any idea how to upload the programme!!
    Kind regards.
    Andrew.

PCI audio card with EAX .0this card installed the drivers for me that allowed me to use EAX and 5. after i installed this card i then removed the card with out uninstalling the drivers then suck in the Creative Soundbaster Audigy 4 card and installed its drivers and BAMMMM! i had 5. - 7. and MY EAX 2.0 back on my games?CREATIVE PLEASE FIX YOUR PROBLEMS! i know im not the only one with this problem as i've seen this post millions of times and i've had friends that no longer use your product due to pore Service and Support.. also to noteCreative does not Fully support Windows xp x64 its just compatable with x64 as i am now runing XP x64 and i had to do the same thing that i had to previously do to get this card working correclty... now i know this most likely will not be replied by a actual Creative team member just a forum admin or a fellow forum user. i just felt like venting my rage against creative. a once great company falling into the black hole of failer due to pore customer support... wish it wasing that way but some times you cant hid the truth. much like my gramer and spelling. but o well?I can just hope that creative software designers get wind of this and look into this problem and are able to fix this in hopes to shead the light on this problem and why i have to take the previous steps stated above to fix it every time i've had reinstall or for those people wondering why there product isnt working like it should. i know the hardware isnt defecti've other wise it wouldnt be working now that i've done all those things i've stated. im not stating creatives products are all bad just Support and Service keep us up to date Creative PLEASE!

Regards, since salio the new drivers eh treated of installing it without success since it gives mistake, I imagine that I have to desintalar " SB Audigy Series Support Pack 5.0 (05/01/2014) " and to do everything from zero? But I want to know if new drivers improves the sound these or those of the packaging are better?

  • No digital sound after Vista upgrade on Audigy Platinum

I finally got around to upgrading my Media Center PC from Win XP to Win Vista Ultimate x64. Following the upgrade and after installing the latest official drivers for my Audigy Platinum, I am unable to get any sound when using the digital out on the sound card. I also made sure to change the Audio Console setting to use SPDIF. If I switch to normal line out, it works fine and digital out worked fine on Win XP.
I tried searching but only came up with threads pertaining to the X-Fi and Audigy 2.
Is there something else Im missing to get this working in Vista?
    Thanks a bunch!!

    Hi there-
I just finally had the chance to install these drivers and I still have no sound coming out when I connect to the digital out of my Audigy card. Again, Ive verified the Audio console has been changed to SPDIF output and still nothing.
Is there something Im missing here? Are there other settings I need to change / set in Vista to get this working? This is very frustrating that this worked without issue in XP and I really dont want to have to go back to it.
    Any help is much appreciated!!

  • Using an Audigy Platinum Live Drive bay with Windows 7

6Using an Audigy Platinum Li've Dri've bay with Windows 7` I bought this card/bay a long time ago:

Unfortunately the Li've Dri've panel, which was pretty much the entire reason I bought it, hasn't worked since I installed Windows XP years ago. Now I'm up to W7 64 bit and I'm wondering if there's any use trying to reinstall the hardware and make it work or if I should just get rid of it.
In XP and possibly in Vista I could get basic functions out of the card, but the EAX control panel didn't really work anymore. I used to use the remote control, plug in my guitar and use effects, etc. I'd really like to be able to do that again. Anyone know?
