Need to automate blocking a set of users from carrying out any activity...

We want to block a set of users from carrying out any activity in SAP everymorning between 05:00 to 10:00.
The users should be blocked at 05:00am and unblocked at 10:00am.
The blocking and unblocking should happen automatically.
Request any solutions to achieve this.

Hello: we have a requirement to restrict access to data within the Lead
and Opportunity transactions for internal employees.
Our business rule is that only those employees that are a partner on
the lead, or on the sales team on the opporutnity, can have access to

This question is about a small set of users that need to be exempt from
this ACE rule: headquarters administrative personnel.
All users will use the PCUI user interface to access these transactions.
Can you advise: what is the best practice for exempting the
headquarters personnel from these ACE restrictions?
We have considered creating a separate, non-ACE-relevant security role
for the headquarters/exempt personnel, but are concerned that this
approach will be a security maintenance headache over the long term.

Hi Matthew,
A parallel layer to ACE is unnecessary. ACE can handle different set of users through the classified user groups. These groups can accomodate the Read/write/no authorizations very well. All you require to do is some configuration for usergroups and then some coding in OBF, AFO and AFU classes.

Need to automatically display update date and user in update form field

Hi all,
Hopefully someone can help me with this... I am using dreamweaver cs4 and php/mysql. I have a database table that will be updated by 1-5 different people at random times. I have everything set up and working, as far as the update function, delete function, add new, etc. In my update form the last two fields are Last Updated and Last Updated By. There are fields in the table called 'last_updated' (formatted in PHPmyadmin as timestamp) and 'last_updated_by'. But how do I get them to update on their own? Right now it is showing the first entry into the field which I did in the PHPmyadmin table, but it is not updating automatically. It would be a nice field to have so that we know who has worked on the table and when it was last updated, without the user manually typing that in, which I am sure they would forget to do. By the way, users will login to this with a username and password before editing the records.
This is the code for the last row in the update form with those two fields. It is pulling the fields from the database table, but they do not update automatically...

How to set per user session time out.

I am trying to set longer session time out to selective users with the following line, but it turns out setting this time out for the whole app. Is there a way to change the session time out per user only?

Well, there's the rub. If you want more control over session handling, you have to take the good with the bad. My suggestion is to use a good open source caching solution and let the cache evict entries for you. You should be able to specify both an interval over which data goes stale and/or the maximum size you want the cache to reach. Really, a session is just a specialized form of caching anyway.

Set a User Status for Quality Notifications only if they are "Activated".

Hello experts:
I need to be able to set a User Status for Quality Notifications only if they are "Activated".
When defects are recorded for an inspection lot, a "Defect Notification" is created which can be activated to become a "Quality Notification". Initially, the only difference between the inactive "Defect Notification" and the active "Quality Notification" is that the system status DEFR is active for the "Defect Notification", but is cleared when the notification is activated.
So, I'm looking for the business process associated with the Activation to use as a trigger for my own user status.
I checked the business rules for status DEFR and found that the following processes clear this status
PMM1 - Postpone Notification
PMM2 - Put Notification In Process
PMM3 - Assign Order
PMM6 - Put Notification In Process Again
Any Ideas ?

Perhaps some additional information would help you understand what I need to do.
For notification type F3, we are recording all defects found in production.
Most of these are expected defects that result in a minor reduction in yield.
For this type of defect, we do not activate the notification, and the inspection lot is closed automatically at the end of production.
However, sometimes defects are observed of an unexpected type or a higher than expected quantity.
When this happens we manually activate the notification and assign tasks to find and correct the cause.
It is only for these activated notifications that I want to automatically set a user status, which among other things, will prevent the notification from being closed until some other actions are complete and a different user status is selected.
The function of the user status currently works exactly as I want, but if it is set as the initial status for all F3 notifications, it is also preventing the un-activated defect notifications from automatically closing. I therefore want to use the Activation event as the trigger to set my user status.

Hi. A JDBC connection pool is a set of identical, interchangeable, pre-made
connections, and the controls to make sure only one user uses a particular
connection at any one time. If you want to have different DBMS users, you can
have a separate pool for each DBMS user, which may contain as many or few
connections as you want. Some applications has a pool for the accounting
applications, and another for the sales applications etc. Some do have a
separate pool for john, jane, joe etc, each with one connection. Pools
can be created and destroyed dynamically using the dynamic pool API.

Make diffrence between values set by user and others by binding

Hello, I'm working with comboboxes. Selected Value is sometime set by user and somtimes set by bindings. I have to launch actions only when the selected value is set by user. Is there any possible way to do it? Thank a lot.

This sounds like you have one variable representing two distinct things; but maybe your requirements somehow necessitate this.
Here's what I meant. I have a background thread (using a Timeline) which changes the combo box randomly every two seconds. (This is a mockup of your requirement of it depending on another value.) The output to the console happens only if the user changes the combo box manually.

Block Users from specific Warehouses

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to prevent specific users from transacting out of certain warehouses only?
I know this can be done with a customized approval procedure, however the client would like this to be blocked comepletely wihtout anyone having to approve the document

Hi Friend,
I'm afraid there is no method here we can link or block certain users to certain WHs.
That is why the approval procedure is used as a possible workaround.
If the customer wants this work as you've mentioned, you have to develop your own SDK code to justify the user's permission.

To execute a process flow with an email activity, you may need to access different host machines and ports. New security measures implemented in Oracle Database 11g Release 1 restrict access to hosts and ports. You must explicitly grant access to hosts and ports that the email activity accesses using the DBMS_NETWORK_ACL_ADMIN package.
For example, the user OWBSYS needs to send an email through the mail server mail.example.com using port 25. The DBA must perform the following steps:
1. Create an Access Control List (ACL) for the user OWBSYS using the following command:
EXECUTE DBMS_NETWORK_ACL_ADMIN.CREATE_ACL
(’acl_for_owb_cc.xml’,’ACL for Control Center’,’OWBSYS’,’CONNECT’);
The ACL has no access control effect unless it is assigned to network target.
2. Assign the Access Control List (ACL) to a network host, and optionally specify a TCP port range. Use the following command:

Have you tried psexec? it's a command prompt utility that executes program on the remote computer.
For example: PC1 (192.168.1.2) to PC2 (192.168.1.3)
In the command prompt window on PC1, type psexec \\192.168.1.3 ipconfig /all
Then get the MAC address

We almost have same issue to add users from several Active Directories.
BPC server is in Domain A. We perform to add users from Domain B. Our trusted relation between AD is Domain B approve Domain A (unidirectional).
We cannot get one user which is able to browse both AD. So we install BPC with a user which has rights to browse Domain A and we use another user in COM+ component (OsoftUSerManage) which has right to browse Domain B.
But it is not working : we encounter an issue (access denied) in web administration by adding users from Domain B.
Any idea ?

Hello JRV,Thank you for your time, There is no comma in my csv file , I double check. below I wrote a simple code.I removed all the conditions and just try to set the EmployeeID and it is working fine with same file.But as soon as I add conditions it gives access denied. as well as if I remove employee Id from your previous code and only try to set telephone No. still it gives access denied.I am just trying to figure out what is causing this.
