Need to create variable

Hi All...
I want the variable to display a dialog box that prompts the user to enter a single cost center number (not a range of Cost Center numbers).
The need is for a new copy function I have created,say 'AA' in one of the Planning Area .  I don't want to use a variable whose value must be changed before executing the copy function because it would wipe out another cost center's budget data if someone forgot to change it before executing the copy function.
Plz suggest....
VIshal

HI,
There is an option to display variable screen under the command of execute Planning Sequence / Function.
Enabling this will prompt the dialogue with vraiable entry every time the button linked with that of the Planning function / Sequence is clicked.
Guess this helps.
Regards.
Shafi.

  • "Could not create variable iterator" on creating ADF Parameter Form

    I've got a managed bean with a method;
    public String cmdLogin_action(String userName, String passWord) {
    // Add event code here...
    return "success";
    I've created a data control, but whenever I try to drag it onto a page and select "Create ADF Parameter Form", I get the dialog to specify bindings between parameters and elements in the form, then when I press OK I get a dialog entitled "Could not create widget" with the message "Could not create variable iterator".
    Anyone know what's wrong?

    Hi,
    actually why do you use ADF binding for this at all? You already have the POJO managed by ADF and the textfield binding to this is
    #{managedBeanName.username) for a String username with getter and setters in it. Why do you want to add a JSF lifecycle managed POJO to a ADF lifecycle managed binding that would provide no additional functionality to you, except that the two lifecycles my interfere with each other (though they are linked together).
    Note that the pageDef file needs to create variables for all the arguments in a method, which then is referenced by attribute bindings.

  • Need to Create a Last 12 Months Variable for Custom Dimension

    Hi everybody
    Once again, I need your good help for an issue I'm facing. In one of our Cube, we have some Date Dimension sthat we've created ourselves (a ZCXXXXX dimension). For one Dimension, Ii need to create a variable that is giving me, automaticaly, the Last 12 Months excluding Current Month (same as the 0CML12LM provided by SAP) without any manual entry done by the user via the Variable Entry Screen.
    I don't want to use offset because I don't want to allow any Manual intervention for my users because it is a report start via RRI.
    Please let me know if you are aware on how to do this!
    Thanks
    Eric L.

    Hi Arun
    My problem is that my report is counting Incident per supplier per Month.  We have a Key Figure that is doing the Total of incident with a Vendor Variable.  So, for a given supplier, if there is no incident for the Incident Month, it won't display in the Result Page.  Also, My report is dynamic so I'can not fix a Structure.  On the other hand, I never used Strucutre, so I'm not really aware on how using this and if it will answer my need.
    If you can give me more details, maybe I'll be able if a Structure is my solution.

  • Needs to create u0091customer exitu0092 in a variable

    Hi Experts,
    I am Bw consultant.
    Issue: Needs to create ‘customer exit’ in a variable.
    Query build on a Cube.
    In that query the time dimension is the YEAR.  (‘period’ will gives the value for whole year (Not for specific months).)
    When we are in January 2008, the report must display the data of year 2007.
    When we are in the other months( from Feb'08), the report must display the data of 2008.
    Here we are trying to create  “customer exit” on “Period” Variable, for the query.
       Let me say like this for Example:
          ‘Date’  = Sy_datum                  {Assume date is 20080129}
          'Year'    = 'Date'(4)                   {here ‘4’ calls value of the year 2008}
           'Month' = 'Date'+4(2)              {here ‘2’ calls value of the month 01}
    If 'Month'  EQ '01'
          0calyear = 'year' -1
    Else
          0calyear = 'year'
    End if.
    I feel the logic mentioned above is correct.But I need the structured ABAP code for this.
    Please do the needful and let me give your valuable solution regarding the particular issue.
    Thanks in advance.

    Try with the below.
    data: v_date type sy-datum,
            v_year(2) type c,
            v_month(2) type c,
            v_cal_year(2) type c.
    v_year = v_date4).
    v_month = v_date+4(2).
    If v_Month = '01'
       v_cal_year = v_year - 1.
    Else.
       v_cal_year = v_year.
    End if.
    The above v_date value can be passed from the user exit.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

  • Creating Variable with Replacement Path to get value from ANOTHER Variable

    Hi all,
        Is anyone has created the Variable with Replacement Path to get the value from another User Entry Variable, PLEASE ?
    First created the User Entry Variable (ZV_X) and it accepts the date range like '01/01/2009 - 01/31/2009'. Next created the Characteristic variable (ZV_Y) of Replacement Path for which source variable will be ZV_X and we should get the 'FROM Date' (01/01/2009) from the selection (ZV_X) into it (ZV_Y).
    While creating the Characteristic variable (ZV_Y) of Replacement Path, I didn't find my newly created ZV_X variable in the list of available variables under 'Variable' header in 'Replacement Path' tab and it is causing the error 'Source to replace variable ZV_Y is not defined'. How could I create the Characteristic variable of Replacement Path for my requirement, PLEASE ?
    The following is from help.sap..com:
    Replace with Characteristic Value
    Text and formula variables with the processing type Replacement Path can be replaced with a corresponding characteristic value. In the variable editor, on the General tab page, you specify under Reference Characteristic the characteristic that is to be referenced by the replacement. On the Replacement Path tab page, you can choose whether the variable is replaced with the From or the To Value and with the Key or the Name of the characteristic value. You can also specify the Offset Start and Offset Length for the output.
    Replace with Variable
    Characteristic value variables, hierarchy variables, text variables, and formula variables with the Replacement Path processing type can take their values from a different variable.
    The following prerequisites need to be fulfilled:
    Variable
    ●      The variable must not be input-ready
    ●      The variable must represent a single value
    Source Variable
    ●      The source variable must not be a hierarchy node variable
    ●      The source variable must be input-ready
    ●      The source variable must be available in the query
    ●      The source variable must represent a single value or an interval
    In the variable editor, on the Replacement Path tab page, you specify the source variable from which the value is to be determined. The value is either determined from the key, the external attribute of the key, the description, or the attribute value. You can specify an Offset Start and an Offset Length for the output here. The variable is replaced on the variable screen upon each data release.
    Thanks,
    Venkat.

    Hi Eve,
    It is possible to connect the 2 queries using a Replacement Path characteristic variable. You would need to create the variable on the char whose values you want to pass from Q1 to Q2. The variable will be of type replacement path and you will need to enter the name of Q1 from which it will get the values. Make sure that you include this char in the query definition of Q1 and Q2. In Q2 you will restrict the characteristic using this variable. DO not use this variable (replacement path) in Q1.
    In your query properties check if you have turned on the checkmark for Release for OLE DB for OLAP (3rd tab). If the check mark is there, then remove it.
    We are using the scenario in a couple of places, and it works very well.
    Hope this helps...

  • Creating variables in Report Painter

    Hi ...
    I would like to know ... how do I create variable ? I know it is via T CODE GS11, but when run tht, in the next screen it pops up for variable ? What variable do I need to enter ? is this predelivered Eg : CE-PK, or can we create one ? Please advise
    Also, I would like to I have a requirement for a report whereby the format is like this .....
    SALES       CURR MONTH (06/2006)  LAST YEAR
    - Sales IT
    - Sales 1
    - Sales 2
    COGS
    - cogs 1
    - cogs 2
    - cogs 3
    COS
    - cos 1
    - cos 2
    - cos 3
    GROSS PROFIT
    Whereby, SALES = sales it + sales 1 + sales 2, COGS = cogs 1+cogs 2 + cogs 3, COS = cos 1+ cos 2+ cos 3. also GROSS PROFIT = SALES + COGS + COS
    The abpve report is inclusive of Cost Centre and Profit Centre, how acn I utilize the libraray in Report Pianter to create such report, is this possible in Report Painter whereby including Cost center and Profit Centre in one single report
    Pls assist me
    Nathan

    When you create your variable first enter the variable name. Second enter the reporting "table" to use. Third enter the "field'. Press enter. Next enter a default value for your field. Save you variable. It is now ready to use in your report painter.
    Using the PCA reporting tables gives you the profit center but not the cost center. You can only use one reporting table per report. you will need a cctr report for that.
    First create your own libray from GLPCT. Next create your report using your new library. The report painter can do the calculations that you have shown.
    You create a formula in the row or column to calculate your sub totals.
    pls assign points if helpful as a way to say thanks.

  • Need To Create a table in Sql Server and do some culculation into the table from Oracle and Sql

    Hello All,
    I'm moving a data from Oracle to Sql Server with ETL (80 tables with data) and i want to track the number of records that i moving on the daily basis , so i need to create a table in SQL Server, wilth 4 columns , Table name, OracleRowsCount, SqlRowCount,
    and Diff(OracleRowsCount - SqlRowCount) that will tell me the each table how many rows i have in Oracle, how many rows i have in SQL after ETL load, and different between them, something like that:
    Table Name  OracleRowsCount   SqlRowCount  Diff
    Customer                150                 150
    0
    Sales                      2000                1998
    2
    Devisions                 5                       5
    0
    (I can add alot of SQL Tasks and variables per each table but it not seems logicly to do that, i tryid to find a way to deal with that in vb but i didn't find)
    What the simplest way to do it ?
    Thank you
    Best Regards
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,
    According to your description, what you want is an indicator to show whether all the rows are inserted to the destination table. To achieve your goal, you can add a Row Count Transformation following the OLE DB Destination, and redirect bad rows to the Row
    Count Transformation. This way, we can get the count of the bad rows without redirecting these rows. Since the row count value is stored in a variable, we can create another string type variable to retrieve the row count value from the variable used by the
    Row Count Transformation, and then use a Send Mail Task to send the row count value in an email message body. You can also insert the row count value to the SQL Server table through Execute SQL Task. Then, you can check whether bad rows were generated in the
    package by querying this table.

  • Help with project: trying to create variables from decimals

    topic may be a bit unclear, but I have a project from a java course. I need to create a simple program, but hit a bit of a bump.
    I have made a formula to find that the total hours equals 2.7350 which is equal to 2hours, 44minutes, 6seconds.
    so to sum what I just said up, I have the number 2.7350, but need to display 2hours, 44minutes, 6seconds
    now I need help of how I can accomplish this with basic java (this is my first java class).
    If there is a way to leave 2 and take .7350 in separate variables, I can make some more formulas to convert that to the answer I need displayed, but I don't know how.
    Please help if you have ideas
    Thank You

    ahh, that just gave me an idea, I can't believe subtraction didn't come into my mind.
    I also should have mentioned that the numbers are generated via formula and user input, so it is not pre set.
    I will try something out with the subtraction idea. however, if you have a solution please post it in case my idea doesn't work.
    thanks again ^^

  • How to create variables at runtime

    Hi,
    I need to know how can i create variables at runtime.
    or is their anything like array that we create in 'C' if yes . how can i define its size at runtime.
    Thanks,
    Dev.

    In forms, either record groups or pl/sql tables of records give similar functionality to an array. You have full programatic control of either but with completely different syntax. Record groups integrate well with certain forms built-ins and features (eg LOVs and Tree items). PL/sql tables integrate well with other pl/sql such as stored procedures. Unlike an array, a pl/sql table may be SPARSE (index numbers need not be sequential), and UNBOUNDED (no need to declare the number of rows).

    Please post code within code tags (press the "code" button).
    Why are you using an inner class? Simplify:
    public class OSC implements ActionListener {
    button1.addActionListener( this );
    public void actionPerformed( ActionEvent e ) {
        if ( e.getSource() == button1 ) . . .

  • Creating variables in Process Flows and using thse variables in the filter

    Hi,
    I am new to OWB and in learing stage. Need to information.
    *1. as to how pass/create/use variables to OWB mapping ?*
    *2. Creating variables in Process Flows and using thse variables in the filter operator of the OWB mapping?*
    *3. Other mechanisms of how to create/use variables within OWB mapping itself ?*
    can you please provide the above details and guide me / help me in this regard.
    Thanks,
    skms.

    1. Add parameters to your mapping using the MAPPING INPUT PARAMETER from the pallette.
    2. Add parameters to the START operator in the process flow. Bind the process flow parameter to the Mapping parameter.
    3. May be appropriate to use CONSTANTS instead of parameters.

  • Need to create a filter in BADI

    Hello Experts,
    Iu2019ve a requirement and according to it I need to Create a filter BUKRS in the BADI definition which makes the BADI call acceptable only when Company Code is XXXX and XXXX.
    Can somebody tell me which BADI I should use?
    Thanks,

    Hello.
    If it is a custom BADI please check the box available in BADI definition (SE18) attributes.
    Step1 - Check the check box Filter in BADI attributes. So that I will enables the filter field and there you need to choose BUKRS.
    Step2 - By doing step1 system adds one more parameter flt_XX to all the methods available in BADI definition.
    Now you need to pass this variable when you are calling the proxy call in the actual application.
    If it is standard BADI you need to check the filter dependent BADIs so that you can impliment them for specific Countries.
    All the best. Let me know if you need any more help.
    - Mohan.

  • Need to create a report having 40 columns using XML Publisher

    Hi XML Report Gurus,
    I have a weird requirement. I need to create a XML Publisher Report having 40 columns. This report would be a CSV Report.
    How can i create a RTF(Template) in MS-Word having 40 columns ?? I just cannot accomodate the columns, they start wrapping down.
    Can i create a template in Excel and map the data columns to the Excel columns?
    I can create a Oracle PL/SQL package and generate the output, but I want to know if I can achieve the same thing using BI Reports.
    Appreciate your feedback
    Kiran Ramachandra
    [email protected] __.____._

    What I did, I had the column titles in the XML file as data, like
    <COL01>Employee Name</COL01>
    <COL02>Employee Number</COL02>
    etc.
    I did it this way because columns were variable, and up to the user to pick. If you have fixed set of columns, you still can include their names in the XML file, this way you will be able to display then as fields on the template.

  • Creating variable names?

    hi all
    is it possible to dynamically create variable names so you can keep track of them?
    I have to generate the following code a number of times depending on a number the user has input. So ideally Id like to create
    variables whose names i can keep track of for later reuse
    eg horHatch1, horHatch2.... without hardcoding them in. is this possible?? are there any better ways of accomplishing this task?
    this code just draws and adds labels on an x axis.
    thanks
    Line2D.Double horHatch1 = new Line2D.Double(horAxis.getP1().getX() + horInterval,
                                                    horAxis.getP1().getY() - HatchLength/ 2,
                                                    horAxis.getP1().getX() + horInterval,
                                                    horAxis.getP1().getY() + HatchLength/2);
        graphics.draw(horHatch1);

    hi
    i used the following code
    but i need to convert Line"d to Line2d.Double as explained below
    for(int i=1; i<x+1; i++)
    Line2D.Double horHatch1 = new Line2D.Double(horAxis.getP1().getX() + horInterval*i,
                                                    horAxis.getP1().getY() - HatchLength/ 2,
                                                    horAxis.getP1().getX() + horInterval*i,
                                                    horAxis.getP1().getY() + HatchLength/2);
        graphics.draw(horHatch1);
         v.addElement(horHatch1);
    Add text to hatches
        decorateVerticalLine(graphics, horHatch1, "M");
        decorateVerticalLine(graphics, horHatch2, "T");
    decorateVerticalLine(graphics, (Line2D)v.elementAt(i), names.elementAt(nColumn).toString());
    //compiler complains that (Line2D)v.elementAt(i) is not of type java.awt.geom.Line2D.Double  but of   java.awt.geom.Line2Di tried :
    horizontalAxisTicks[i] =((Double)(Line2D)v.elementAt(i)).doubleValue()).getX1();
    but this isnt correct i dont think.
    thanks
