Need to make Value Set as Case insenstive attached with a DFF on OA Page

Hi All,
I have enabled DFF on iExpense web page, OA Page, and attached a Value set to this DFF. This is an independent Value Set. Now when user enters a value in this DFF and press tab then it validates and chaged accordingly. Suppose user enters a value 'card' whereas Value set has value as 'Card'. now when user press tab button it changes automaticaaly to 'Card'. But if user enters 'card' and press 'Next' button on page it throws an exception that this value is not available in the value set.
Kindly let me know that how can I overcome from this problem.

You can add the read-only token ($RO$) after any of the segments in the list. For example, the ($RO$) designator below sets Segment1 in structure code 1 to be read-only:
Structure code1|Segment1($RO$)|Segment2...

Whenever I use Firefox, I get dozens and dozens of additional junk emails. I don't have this problem with IE8. Do I need to make a setting change to Firefox?

Need a suggestion for setting up a reimbursement program with an annual cap

Can anyone recommend or have an idea on the best way to handle an employee program which provides for $250 in reimbursements for eligible expenses under the program? A few facts about the program:
1- There is an annual $250 cap per employee
2- The $250 does not need to be used all at once
3- Employee's pay for services themselves first and then submit receipts to HR on a quarterly basis for reimbursement
3- Because expenses do not need to be used all at once, the set up must be able to track expenses for the entire year through a cumulative balance
4- The $250 is subject to payroll taxes (though we are not using Oracle Payroll)
Currently, the entire program is being managed via an excel spreadsheet but we would like to automate the program in Oracle. Ideally, we would like for employees to enter their expenses via Oracle iExpense. However, the system would need to be be able to recognize when an employee is over the annual limit, throw a message to the employee letting them know they are over the annual cap, and only allow the remaining balance to be processed in the expense report.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, if you are not using Oracle Payroll, what are you using for payroll? I am wondering why you could not use your payroll system, whatever it is, to handle this reimbursement program.
Well, you may want to talk to Oracle support about how to handle this in Oracle iExpense. You can certainly handle advances for Expense Reports. You would then apply the advance to the expense report items. The catch is I don't think you can stop expense item entry after the adavance is satisfied. You would have to set up a work flow process of some kind to have the expense reports reviewed and only approve expenses that are applied to the advance, is what I am thinking. Not your ideal solution, but something to think about. It could be the Oracle folks might know of a sneaky way to handle this. What you are trying to do is unusual. Employee advances are common, but the idea of not being able to exceed the advance amount is what unusual about this. Normally you will accept any expenses over the advance amount and reimburse the employee for those extra amounts not advanced.

What do I need to make 32bit games play on x86-64 with intel gm965?

I have been trying to get a bunch of 32bit games to play on x86-64 with no luck.
Ive tried quake4, prey, and now doom3 and all seem to have the same issues. They start to work and the screen goes black, then it just goes right back to the desktop.
I have installed the entire lib32 group, and still no luck. I even tried install lib32-intel-dri from aur but still no luck.
Do I still use lib32-nvidia-utils with an intel chipset, because thats what gets installed by default when i install the lib32 group?
Here is the output from doom3 (quake4, and prey had a very similar output where they all said idRenderSystem::Shutdown() but I already removed the packages out of frustration so I dont have the outputs from them, Im pretty sure its probably the same exact problem with all of them though)

Dump lib32, get a 32-bit chroot, and run with schroot -p "your game"
Within your chroot you'd need to have the intel drivers installed in a version exactly matching your main system's. It takes a bit more HD space (less than 1 GB), but you get a much easier system since you're using the packages maintained in the repos by devs/TUs instead of lib32 packages maintained (primarily) by volunteers for their own specific system.

How to add an extra columns to accounting flex field value sets

I am working on report customization for standard Account Analysis (180 Char) report. Requirement is to show a column "Parent" in Flex field value set .
Currently its showing columns as Account, description
i need to add parent column
i can not modify segment value sets as they are attached to accounting flex fields
so is there any other way i can achieve thie

If it would help your company to be able to change the accounting flexfield and value sets, I might be able to help. there is software to do this on the market. Sometimes when companies need to develop complex reporting, it's a sign that the chart of accounts, the AFF is obsolete, and it makes sense to change it rather than work around it.

How define Value Set to validate date against sysdate

Hi gurus,
I need to validate Value Set against current date. The date entered should be today date or higher.
During defining Value Set I choose Format Type: Standard Date. The problem is that
I can not enter value "sysdate" to Min Value field. The following error shows up:
"Please enter date values sysdate in correct format: DD-MM-RRRR".
Is it possible to achieve what I need ?

I enter not a concrete date but 'sysdate' value.
The message is of course DD-MM-YYYY in English (DD-MM-RRRR is inPolish). Sorry of mistake.
I afraid I can not achieve it using Standard Date Format Type.

Need to mark value zero for repairable materials goods movements

Hello Masters,
The scenario is like below:
Materials reach perticular storage locations and goods movement happens with 101K or 102K. For materials of type repairable or non-repairable, we need to make value zero for above movemeny types in process of MIGO.
I feel that there is a work on config or a work on BADI's.
Please suggest feasible solutions ASAP as my business needs these to be in place soon.

I have an issue where I want to add a descriptive flexfield. The flexfield should be added in an existing hierarchy that consists of 3 fields:
1. Category
2. Type
3. Priority
All the flexfields have value sets connected to them. Type is dependent of the values you have choosen in Category.
The setup looks like this today:
Category - Value set XXCategory - Independent
Type - Value set XXType - Dependent (.. of Category)
Priority - Value Set XXPriority- Independent
After the new field is added the hierarchy should be like this
1. Category
2. Type
3. Cause (new)
4. Priority
Cause should be dependent of Type (that is dependent of Category). The problem is that I can not set up a value set that is both dependent of something and master of something else.
Does somebody have any suggestions on how to address this issue?

One possibility could be to make a value set using type "Table" attached to cause segment. This will be restrict values according to what you want. But the inconvenient is that the table has be created and maintained.

I want to make value set ( single value column) dependent upon select statement. How can i do that . i know how to make table dependent value set but i dont know how to make value set dependent upon select .

Go to Value Set creation screen.
Go to Value Validation Region
Select validation type as Table
Click Edit information and enter your table details as follows
Name of the table
ID and name combination ( Like if you want to create a value set in person table in LOV you would like to show Full Name but while passing parameter or storing value you will store person_id)
Add your where clause and order by clause in the where/order by clause.
See a seeded value set of this type (BEN_ACTN_TYP) for reference.

Has someone faced the issue of enabling a segment of a flexfield (DFF, KFF) depending on the value of another segment?

The problem is ...
Can I use this property even with value set with no validation type? for example a value set for the hours and minutes in a day, assigned to a flexfield segment, can be enabled/disabled depending on the value of another segment? If true ... how can i do that?
Otherwise how can I create a value set for hours and minutes with a validation type (i.e. table or special type) so I can do with $FLEX$ syntax?

Hi Jacopo,
Considering the abstract meaning of "no validation type" ... the only thing off the top of my head that doesn't have **any** "validation" is the value infinity! Anything else can be validated, e.g. a string of any characters 200 characters long!
So, to your solution:
Create your value set for hours and minutes as a table with underlying structure something like :
select hour || ':' || minute
from
( select lpad(rownum-1,2,'0') hour
from all_objects
where rownum < 25
, ( select lpad(rownum-1,2,'0') minute
from all_objects
where rownum < 61
order by 1;
Then in the where clause of the value set put the reference to the value set of the DFF column that controls whether or not you need to enter the HH24:MI time.
e.g.
:$FLEX$.MY_OTHER_VALUE_SET is not null

Balancing Segement Value set we can use it as Intercompany value set?

Hi Gurus,
We have requirement as follow.
We have company values "001, 002, 003" which is balancing segment values
we need to use the same Values for Intercompany transactions, can i use company value set as Intercompany or not.
1) If yes do we need to create Values for intercompany one more time or values will be default from company
2) If not please tell me exact reason and how to setup Dependent segement.

Hello,
The same value set can be used for Intercompany but it is recommended to use a separate value set for the Intercompany if ever (in the future) u need to add additional information regarding the Intercompany value.
Having a value set only for Intercompany, you can add DFF on it.

Our business has decided to maintain the GL hierarchy structure in Hyperion. Therefore, for our legal entity and cost center structures, we do not have a parent/child relationship in GL. Are we able to implement the GL related dashboards without the ability to set a top node?
Somewhere in the documentation there is statements saying we can create a master value set. Any feedback?

Need to make an apppointment at an apple store

Need to make an appointment as soon as posible with an Apple Store I know there is one on Lincon Rd in Miami Beach, My keeps turning off and can use it.
