Need to set a parameter to a method from DataTable
Hi. I'm trying to work this problem out. I have to make a call to a method which is in a bean from a JSF DataTable. My method is something like String method(String). What I would like to do, is to call this method from a JSF DataTable in order to fill a column or two. I'd like to know how I can set this parameter from my JSF, something like "#{mybean.method[i need my string to be here]}". I would also like to know if it is possible that the parameter is another bean, I mean, if it is possible, something like "#{mybean.method[#{anotherbean.property}]}". I'll really appreciate some help, I hope you'll help me.

Let me take a stab.
If you want to save a value for later use when an exception is thrown, throw your own exception type that stores this info in the exception.
Or perhaps you are asking something completely different.

In general you can use the scriptable variable that you define for your BC4J Datasource to access different BC4J methods.

Setting optional parameter stepToStoreResultsIn of Thread.WaitForEnd() method
This question is related to an earlier posting of mine regarding launching a thread from a c++ code module (http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=330&message.id=15383&query.id=775150#M15383). I am launching a new thread from a code module (c++ DLL), and I need wait for it to finish.
There are 2 ways I envision doing this:
1. wait for the new thread to finish before returning from my code module by calling Thread.WaitforEnd()
2. return a reference to the new thread to the calling sequence and make the calling sequence wait for the thread to complete before terminating using a wait step at the end of the sequence.
My questions are regarding method 1, where I would call Thread.WaitforEnd(). I want to set the parameter stepToStoreResultsIn to set the result of the step in the calling sequence to the result of the sequence executed in the new thread:
a. Do I understand the purpose of the stepToStoreResultsIn parameter correctly?
b. The stepToStoreResultsIn parameter must be a variant, so how do I pass in the step context as a variant? is it the same as a IDispatch pointer?a. Yes

1: I need to set aproxy in firefox 3.6, which allow me to access the internet.
2: Currently i am using some Java code to invoke the firefox, the path is D:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe. When the firefox launched by Java code, I found the proxy is missing.
3: looks like the Java code make the firefox go back to the orininal status, just like the fresh installation.
I wonder whether there are some parameters or files that can be used to control the firfox starting.Thanks for your reply, here is what i tested:
1: Upgrade my Firefox version to 3.6.8
2: The installation path is D:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
3: For the ProfileManager, I tried to run the firefox.exe -ProfileManager in command line, the firefox was started up but not the profileManager. No sure why this happened. :-(
4: I updated some features after the installation, like add some bookmarks, delete some default bookmarks and added the proxy. When the firefox is started from my code, the profile would be the default one(No new bookmarks, no proxy).
5: Start the firefox from the command line and by double click is ok, my adding bookmarks and proxy is here...

Hello All,
I am getting an error message when I tried modifying a program by adding a new ID column to a database table.
All DML is working except the Delete. So to look at the delete method, I am setting the parameter correctly as can be seen in the code belwo.

But I can’t figure out what copyingProfiles parameter of packageForPrint method means?
First of all, I don’t see the corresponding checkbox in InDesign’s Package Publication dialog box.
Secondly, it makes no difference whether I set it to true or false: no profiles are copied.
The reference states: “copyingProfiles — bool — If true, copies color profiles to the package folder”.
But what profiles is it supposed to copy? The ones chosen in Color Settings dialog?

How to set the parameter selection *optional* for each subreport?

I am using Crystal Reprots 11.
I create 10 subreports, and each subreport contains a Parameters Field.
The 10 subreports are put in 10 footer sections in increasing order, i.e. subreport1, subreport2, subreport3, ..., subreport10.
When I use "Print Preview" to take a look at the whole report, CR prompts a "Edit Values" window for selecting parameter values for all 10 subreports.
For example, if I only select parameter values for subreport1 and click "OK", 9 error messages on the "Edit Values" window come out above the selection list box of every other subreports (i.e. subreport2 ~ subreport10) showing that: 'The value is not valid'.
Sometimes, I just want to review some specific subreports but not all.
How should I do to set the parameter selection optional (not mandatory) for each subreport?

Here's how you can make the prompts optional (Assuming you're using CR 2008 or higher):
1) Go into each subreport
2) You should see the parameter in the Field Explorer. Right-click the name and select Edit > Look for an option called 'Optional Prompt'. Set it to true
3) If you have a record selection in the subreport, then you need to modify the selection formula to something like this:
if not(hasvalue({?Parameter_Name})) then True else = {?Parameter_Name}

SUBMIT program VIA JOB and SET/GET parameter
Hi All
I need to pass the content of a variable from the program 'A' to program 'B'.
Program A uses JOB_OPEN , SUBMIT program VIA JOB jobname NUMBER jobnumber AND return, JOB_CLOSE.
I tried to use import/export memory but it didn't work. Then I am trying to use set/get parameters but it also did not work.
Program A is going to run in any server and program B will run in the central instance (it is determined in the FM JOB_CLOSE, parameter target_server).
Program does not have selection-screen.
Is it possible use set/get parameter with submit via job?
Could you please advise?

How to call a set method from within a constructor

I want to be able to call a set method from within a Scanner, to be used as the argument to pass to the Scanner (from a source file). Here's what i tried:

and here is the set method:

}obviously there will be more code in this method but i'm trying to tackle one problem at a time. Thanks in advance..The "String in" declaration says: "Nobody may ever invoke setSource() without specifying a certain String. The content of the String is known at run-time only."
In no place in your code you say the compiler: "I want the 'in' variable (actually, parameter) of method setSource() to contain the first arg which is passed to the application".
This is exactly the same mechanism allowing you to write "new Scanner" with something inside the two parentheses. -
Passing object as a parameter to a method while dragging it to UI

I am using webservice datacontrol to invoke "Secured webservice". Dragged a method from datacontrol and dropped it into UI, it passes a object(i.e., SOAHeader object) as input parameter and returns "String" as a output. So, here I have created a java class and passing it as an object to the method. When i deployed the app into Android emulator, while clicking that method as a button, its throwing me an error message *"HTTPStatusCode 500: Server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request"*. I tried to configure debugger to get log for remote deployment, after that the application itself not opening in emulator. Then how can i find the exact reason for this error message?
Here I got few doubts,
1) Is this the correct way of passing the object as a method input parameter?
2) How can i invoke secured web service through "Webservice datacontrol" in ADF Mobile. I searched in google and got a link by andrejus "http://andrejusb.blogspot.be/2012/11/adf-mobile-secured-web-service-access.html", but not understanding about "*adfCredentialStoreKey*", what is it? and how can i use it?. I set the security policies as mentioned, is it enough to invoke the secured webservices without giving username/password?. Bit confused, can anyone please tell me more about accessing secured webservices from webservice datacontrol.
3) I tried to configure debug option(as mentioned in developer's guide) to get log of remote deployment. I changed *"java.debug.enabled=true"* in cvm.properties. After that configuration, unable to open that mobile app through emulator. What could be the reason?

my internal hard drive has crashed 3 times in the last week, each time on boot-up during the grey screen spinning wheel mode. the wheel will stop spinning, and simultaneously i can hear the internal drive spin down, then the computer shuts down on it
