NetBeans - won't create lib folder

Hi,
when I try building projects of mine in NetBeans everything goes fine but when I look in the dist folder there's no lib folder and according to the readme txt file there needs to be one there... furthermore I get the following when I build projects from output:
C:\JavaProjects\JavaHello\dist\JavaHello.jar is a directory or can't be read. Not copying the libraries.
Building jar: C:\JavaProjects\JavaHello\dist\JavaHello.jar
Not copying the libraries.
Is it because the folder is in C:\ directory or is there something I need to set?
Cheers
(and apologies if this is the wrong section)

go into the folder with your JAR file--your dist folder--type: java -jar <what ever your file name is> and hit enter.

  • Apple Script won't create new folder

    Hi all,
First of all, let me explain that in no particular way I am any good with applescript. I find it confusing at the best of times. I've got a bit of code that will check to see if a new folder is created in a specific location. If a new folder is created, then it will copy the name of the folder and create a new folder with the same name in a different place. The reason for this is that I separate my file types (I'm a photographer) and I keep my RAW files in one folder, my PSD files in another, my JPEGs in another and so on. The current code I have worked up until I installed Yosemite as well as Server on my mac mini. Here's the code:
on adding folder items to this_folder after receiving added_items
set p to POSIX file "/Volumes/Projects/1. Raw"
         try
              tell application "Finder"
                   repeat with item_ in added_items
if kind of item_ is "Folder" then --if its a folder then make another in Ra
                             make new folder at p with properties {name:item_}
                        end if
                   end repeat
              end tell
         on error
              display dialog "Error occurred"
              return
         end try
    end adding folder items to
The action is set to the JPEG folder, where an application automatically adds a folder (for this example, I'll use "z. test").
    z. Test is detected in the JPEG folder, and then the folder is replicated across to the other separating folders ready for when any new files are added. Trouble is, the error occurred dialog box shows up. I have the appropriate permissions for the hard drives that the folders reside on, and are replicated to the subfolders too.
Is there anyway of finding out what the error is that's occurring? Or am I missing something since upgrading to Yosemite/Server? Any help would be most appreciated!

    Hi,
You can't rename an item with an object (the item_  is an object of type alias), use the name of item_
To know the error, use the parameter in on error block.
    Try this :
on adding folder items to this_folder after receiving added_items
        try
set p to "/Volumes/Projects/1. Raw" as POSIX file as alias
            tell application "Finder"
                repeat with item_ in added_items
if kind of item_ is "Folder" then --if its a folder then make another in Ra
set tName to name of item_
                        make new folder at p with properties {name:tName}
                    end if
                end repeat
            end tell
        on error err
            activate
display dialog "Error occurred : " & err
        end try
    end adding folder items to

  • Netbeans does not create lib file in dist anymore?

I am using Netbeans 6.5 and for some reason, the project libraries are not included in the dist anymore? Does anyone know why? I can't find an option in Netbeans.

You can modify it yourself, but, IMHO, that is kind of like attaching a rope to your steering rods and using that to steer rather than the steering wheel. ;-)Not sure I agree with that. Preparing a distribution is something that's different for different people, different projects and different organisations. It's not out of the question that you'll need more than one dist anyway. Your IDE makes a good stab at guessing what you want? Good-oh. You'd probably use Ant anyway (if you haven't embraced Maven!) to do this, and there's no "standard" to thatYes, if you want multiple distributions or partial distributions, of course, edit your build.xml, but then, IMHO, you should be using ant (or maven) manually and externally (which would also mean an external build.xml) and not the "compile" button on the IDE, as that is (again, IMO) not meant for either of those. We don't have a problem doing both. That is: developers built with the build button, but the official builds are scripted with ant.
The build script starts by blowing away the project directory, getting everything (source, and all config) from the repository, and running an ant. It's not hard to maintain the official build.xml from diffs on the developers build.xml (which is checked in seperately).
Cheers. Keith. So do we. But that is, as I've said, keeping the manual modification of build.xml and the manual execution of ant with that separate from the "build" button in the IDE, as it should be, IMO.

  • Unable to run jar file without lib folder containing swing-layout-1.0.jar

I have done my project through NetBeans 5.0. Eventhough I have copied my lib foloder containing swing-layout-1.0.jar inside my project.jar, I am still unable to run my project.jar in other systems, it is creating an error as Could not find the main class. Program will exit. But if I copy the lib foloder containing swing-layout-1.0.jar in the same path as the project.jar, then my project.jar is running.
But I want to give only the project.jar for other users and not also lib foloder containing swing-layout-1.0.jar each time.
Could someone please help me with this.

When you develop GUI applications using the Netbeans you may endup using netbeans specific jar files in your auto generated code.
And when you build jar files with netbeans it copy the third party jar files used in a application in to a lib folder in the same directory as the jar file of your project. And then set a class path entry to those jar files in your project jar file's manifest file.
So if you want to redistribute the package you have to redistribute your jar file and every thing in the lib folder in with the same directory structure.
If you want to change the structure you will have to change the class path to suit the new structure.

  • Netbeans 551: Include all libs in project jar file. Possible?

Is it possible to manually, or automaticly, include the /dist/lib directory into my "GonioLabt, jar" to make it more 'stand alone', file wise.
    Netbeans generates this dist/README.TXT
    ========================
    BUILD OUTPUT DESCRIPTION
    ========================
When you build an Java application project that has a main class, the IDE
automatically copies all of the JAR
files on the projects classpath to your projects dist/lib folder. The IDE
also adds each of the JAR files to the Class-Path element in the application
    JAR files manifest file (MANIFEST.MF).
To run the project from the command line, go to the dist folder and
    type the following:
    java -jar "GonioLab.jar"
To distribute this project, zip up the dist folder (including the lib folder)
    and distribute the ZIP file.
    Notes:
    * If two JAR files on the project classpath have the same name, only the first
JAR file is copied to the lib folder.
    * If the classpath contains a folder of classes or resources, none of the
classpath elements are copied to the dist folder.
    * If a library on the projects classpath also has a Class-Path element
specified in the manifest, the content of the Class-Path element has to be on
    the projects runtime path.
    * To set a main class in a standard Java project, right-click the project node
in the Projects window and choose Properties. Then click Run and enter the
class name in the Main Class field. Alternatively, you can manually type the
class name in the manifest Main-Class element.

Yes it is possible. The same question has been
killing me all day. Here is how I did it.
(I'm on Mac OS 10.4, but this should work anywhere)
    Netbeans produces the following:
    dist/myJar.jar
    dist/lib/swing-layout-1.0.jar
I would prefer to have only:
    dist/myJar.jar
But, as you know, myJar.jar requires the class files
stored in swing-layout-1.0.jar. I unpacked the jar
files and examined the manifest files. Here is how to
unpack and repack the jar files into a single jar
    file:
First, I renamed myJar.jar to myJar.zip and let OS X
unarchive the jar for me. I did the same for
    swing-layout-1.0.jar.
I then dropped the MANIFEST.MF file from
MyJar/META-INF/ into a new folder on my harddrive
Then, I dropped the package (its a folder full of
class files) from MyJar/ into the same new folder on
    my harddrive.
At this point, the new folder contains:
    /newFolder/MANIFEST.MF
    /newFolder/myPackage/
    Then, I grabbed /dist/lib/swing-layout-1.0/org/ and
dropped that into the new folder.
We now have in the new folder:
    /newFolder/MANIFEST.MF
    /newFolder/myPackage/
    /newFolder/org/
    Almost done:
Open the MANIFEST.MF file with a text editor. Mine
    looked like this:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Ant-Version: Apache Ant 1.6.5
    Created-By: 1.5.0_07-87 ("Apple Computer, Inc.")
    Main-Class: ohm.GUI
    Class-Path: lib/swing-layout-1.0.jar
X-COMMENT: Main-Class will be added automatically by
    build
I replaced the ENTIRE contents of the file with
    this:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Main-Class: myPackage/Main
Where 'myPackage' is the folder containing my class
files, and 'Main' is the class containing the
    'main(String[] args) method.
Save the file and we're ready to repack the archive.
Open the command line (in OS X this is the Terminal)
I assume the syntax is the same in windoze; Navigate
to the new folder you created.
    In OSX: cd /newFolder
    in windoze: cd \newFolder
    Then use java's jar command:
    jar cmf MANIFEST.MF MyJar.jar *
    What this does:
jar is the command. cmf are flags: the 'c' is for
creating a new jar archive, the 'm' is to specify a
premade manifest file, the 'f' tells jar to write the
results to a file. MyJar.jar is the name you have
chosen for the resulting .jar file. the '*' is a
wildcard character that tells jar to put every file
in the present working directory into the new .jar
Thats it! This produced myJar.jar which worked fine
by itself, as it included all the classes from
swing-layout-1.0.jar. It would be a trivial matter to
write a shell script to do all this for you, unless
of course you use something silly like windows, in
which case you'll have to write a batch file or use
python or something. Good luck, I hope this saves
others time, drop me a e-mail if this was at all
    confusing! [email protected]
You should be aware that doing this may well violate the licensing terms for third-party libraries
By the way, what's silly about using Windows? Are you saying you don't develop for Windows because it's "silly"?

  • Creating a folder for a document library in SharePoint online

Hello I am looking for a good place to get started on creating a folder for a document library using a powershell script. Thanks in advance for any help.

Here is a guide to creating folders and items in a document library for SharePoint Server/Foundation: Creating SharePoint Folders
and Items with PowerShell. You will need to tailor it to your needs as it's a demo for creating 50,000 items.
That's step 1 and contains the bulk of what you would need to do. Here's an example of connecting to a library in SharePoint Online using CSOM: Office
365 - PowerShell Script to Upload Files to a Document Library using CSOM. You won't be uploading files, but the parts where you connect and get a list are what you're interested in.
Now you'll combine bits from both of these scripts:
    1. Connect to SPO
    2. Get your list (looks like you need to first get the site collection and then the site)
    3. Create a folder
I figure it would look something like this (note I haven't tested this at all):
#Specify tenant admin and site URL
    $User = "[email protected]"
    $SiteURL = "https://tenant.sharepoint.com/sites/site"
    $DocLibName = "DocLib"$FolderTitle = "Example Folder"
#Add references to SharePoint client assemblies and authenticate to Office 365 site - required for CSOM
    Add-Type -Path "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\ISAPI\Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.dll"
    Add-Type -Path "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\ISAPI\Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.Runtime.dll"
$Password = Read-Host -Prompt "Please enter your password" -AsSecureString
    #Bind to site collection
    $Context = New-Object Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.ClientContext($SiteURL)
    $Creds = New-Object Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.SharePointOnlineCredentials($User,$Password)
    $Context.Credentials = $Creds
    #Retrieve list
    $List = $Context.Web.Lists.GetByTitle($DocLibName)
    $folder = $list.AddItem("", [Microsoft.SharePoint.SPFileSystemObjectType]::Folder)
    $folder["Title"] = $FolderTitle
    $folder.Update();

  • Creating a folder for wallpaper on the phone?

    Hey guys,
As per the topic really, how do I create a folder on the phone for my wallpaper? I can't see an option in explorer to add a new folder
    Thanks

    You're welcome.
You won't lose anything since all photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone should remain on your computer.
Place all the existing photos that have already been transferred to your iPhone in a named folder or place these photos in multiple named folders as needed. Place the folder of the photos or multiple folders of the photos that you want transferred to your iPhone in the parent folder as already provided and select this parent folder under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. All named folders of photos within this parent folder will be transferred to your iPhone as separate named albums.
To add additional photos later, create a folder for the new photos and place the new folder of photos in the parent folder followed by a sync. To remove a photo from your iPhone, remove the photo from the named folder within the parent folder followed by a sync. To remove an entire album or folder of photos from your iPhone, move the named folder of photos outside of the parent folder followed by a sync.

  • HT4191 iPhone Local Storage "My iPhone" - How do you create this folder for use by the Notes app on a iPhone or iPad?  If I want to keep some notes only on my device and not in a cloud environment associated with an e-mail account.

iPhone Local Storage "My iPhone" - How do you create this folder for use by the Notes app on a iPhone or iPad?  If I want to keep some notes only on my device and not in a cloud environment associated with an e-mail account.  I've seen reference to the  "My iPhone" local storage put no mention on how you create this folder or access this folder within the Notes app.  I realize storing information in a local storage like this provides no syncing between other iDevices but that is exactly what I'm looking for.  I'm running iOS7.0.4 on a iPhone 5S, and a iPad Air.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you go to Settings > Notes > Default Account you will see "On My iPhone" as the default account and the only choice if you have not enabled syncing Notes in Settings >iCloud or Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. If you have enabled syncing you can still select "On My iPhone" as the default account. When you are in the Notes app you won't see any accounts listed if you have not enabled syncing because they are all in the On My iPhone account and that is the only place possible. It is not a folder that you create.

  • Error while creating a folder..

I am running my build in cygwin. During the build process, I am creating a folder.
I am getting an error like.
../build_wl.xml:478: Directory C:\temp\dist\config\applications\webdriver\WEB-INF\lib creation was not successful for an unknown reason
Here, I am creating a folder 'dist' in c:/temp and placing all the files in it. Have I to give permissions to the entire directory ?

My guess would be that you are trying to create the directory
    C:\temp\dist\config\applications\webdriver\WEB-INF\lib
    before the directory
    C:\temp\dist\config\applications\webdriver\WEB-INF
    exists.

  • ClassNotFound in case of class from jar in lib folder

    Hello,
I get an application that I have to deploy on Weblogic AS. It is big ear with couple of wars inside. Let's say it is bigApp.ear.
It is deployed and state is Active. When go to browser and try to run an application I get an error. In logs I found ClassNotFoundException. The error is related to a class, let's say: com.some.package.Abc - I have this class in a jar file, let's say someFile.jar and it is in a folder WLS_FOLDER\samples\domains\wl_server\lib where:
    - WLS_FOLDER is my WLS installation folder
    - wl_server - name of my domain where I deploy an application.
I wrote a small application (simple form), let's say simpleApp.war. The application uses the class com.some.package.Abc, but the class is not put into the war (WEB-INF/lib) of my small aplication (I use Maven and dependency to someFile.jar has scope provided, so simpleApp.war does not contain it). The result is that simpleApp works fine and there is no error in logs. It creates an instance of com.some.package.Abc and correctly display toString() of the instance of the class in a browser. So this means that application simpleApp is able to see and use classes that are inside jars in WLS_FOLDER\samples\domains\wl_server\lib folder.
So my guess is that there is something in bigApp.ear but I don't know where to search. I read about class loaders hierarchy in Weblogic and Class Loader Filtering. But I have looked inside every weblogic.xml in bigApp.ear and wars that are inside and there is no filter on "com.some.package" or "com.some" or "com" only different packages.
Is there any other mechanism in Weblogic that could block the visibility of classes from jars from lib folder of domain to the applications that are deployed in that domain??
    Regards

    Hi,
Place that something.jar file under Domain_Home / lib folder and restart the server it will included with in the classpath and your app will able to pick the class without any issue.

What happens when you try that method? What errors do you get? Have you ensured you've installed EWS 1.2 per the requirements listed in the script? (it actually mentions 1.1, but that no longer seems to be available, but 1.2 is here
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=28952 ).
I'm assuming you're running Exchange 2007 (since you're posting in the 2003/2007 forum, and this won't work on 2003), is that correct?
While I don't know for sure that the script will work on 2007, have you ensured that you've amended the file paths to the correct locations? Eg, assuming it should work you'll need to amend the line :
    $service = New-Object Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.ExchangeService([Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.ExchangeVersion]::Exchange2010_SP1)
to reflect the version of Exchange you're running, and the line :
    Import-Module -Name "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange\Web Services\1.1\Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.dll"
with whatever version of EWS you've installed.

  • Configure PHP Server: Why Can't I Create a Folder in the Web Root?

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a new Flex 3 app with PHP as the application server type. I'm running: Flex 3.2, MAMP, Zend, PHP on an iMac with OS X 10.5.8.
Unfortunately, Flex won't let me validate my configuration.
    a) I created a folder in htdocs called house.
    b) I filled in Flex's Web root as: /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/house
    c) Root URL: http://localhost
When I try to validate, it fails.
If I remove the folder house and try to validate as:
    Flex's Web root: /Applications/MAMP/htdocs
    Root URL: http://localhost
    it works.
Why won't it let me create a folder in the web root? I've got a lot of other stuff in my htdocs folder and I'd like to keep things organized. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem?
    Thank you.

Before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
    - Did it ever work properly?
    - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.

If you are on iOS 5 and it's an IMAP type account then you should get an Edit button at the top of the list of folders that you currently have on your email account. If it's a POP type account or if you are still on iOS 4 then you won't get the Edit button.

You can't have an email folder on your iPad's homescreen, you can only create a folder and access your emails folders within the Mail app (or via Safari or an email app from the store).
To create an email folder within the Mail app, then if your iPad is on iOS 5+ and it's an IMAP type account then you should get an Edit button at the top of the list of folders that you currently have on your email account. If it's a POP type account then you won't get the Edit button.

  • FCPX 10.0.7 Won't create alias' to event files

We recently had a Facilis Terrablock SAN installed along with a CatDV server.
The problem we're having is that FCPX won't create alias files on the SAN when importing footage and not moving it to the Events folder, so everything comes up as offline.
We're adding the SAN location properly in FCPX and we can create alias files in finder on the SAN just fine.
Does anyone have any insight about why this is happening?

SAN's of any kind - AFAIK - are supported. FCPX can work with media on our Facilis SAN so long as I use the "Copy Media To Final Cut Events Forlder" option on direct import. It actually works quite well in this regard.
However, this is not how we want to work with our media. Up to this point we've used our own folder structure on local discs prior to importing footage. This works fine as Final Cut creates short cuts to the original media in the Events Folder (kind of a hack way to do this IMO, but whatever, it works). There is know reason I know of that FCPX shouldn't be able to do the same with a SAN location.
I would appreciate replys from people who've actually worked with FCPX and SAN's. Perhaps I'm asking in the wrong place for that.
