Netscape freezing

Question

I recently bought my parents a new iMac and am cleaning up their old Blueberry model for my daughter. The one thing I need to do is transfer some emails that are in their inbox on the old computer to the new. I just finished setting it up to access our DSL and the internet works fine with iCab and IE. But when I launch Netscape Communicator (4.73), Netscape starts to download a webpage then freezes.
All I'm trying to do is get to the email section of Netscape so I can resend my parent's emails back to them.
This machine is running OS 9.1

Try using a later version of Netscape or Mozilla.
The last version of Netscape for Mac OS 9 was 7.0.2.

That version is based on Mozilla base code, so you can get a later version of Mozilla. The last version that works with Mac OS 9 is a special build called WaMCom.

In either program, there should be an option to "Import" under either the File menu or Tools menu. Instead of sending the emails back to them individually, it may be easier to "import" the originals using SeaMonkey on their new iMac, or whatever program they are going to use for email under Mac OS X. SeaMonkey is the new name for the Mozilla Internet Suite. If your parents are comfortable with how the old Netscape works, it may be a good choice.
