NetStream.publish() to AMS ends up with 1kb file.

I'm using Adobe Media Server 4.5 and the FLEX 4.6.0 sdk.
I have an .swf application that connects to Adobe Media Server over RMTP, takes audio and video input from the user's webcam and mic, and does a NetStream.publish() to stream the file to the server. When the user is done, I do a NetStream.stop(). On occasion, the resulting file will end up with a size of 1kb.
What's causing this and how can I prevent it, or otherwise end the session and inform the user that something went wrong?
Alternatively, these forums seem dead, so does anyone know of a place where my question might be better suited?

Solved by changing the frame rate of the footage (image sequence) into any other frame rate, then change back to desired frame rate. In my case, after load the image sequence >check inspector of footage >change current frame rate (from 24fps to other fps) >change back frame rate to 24fps. Same bug in version 3.5.2. Hope it helps.

That has been like that since Firefox 3.0 was released in June 2008 - 7 major version releases thus far with it like that and the developers haven't changed it - so I wouldn't count on it.

Thinking about buying Adobe CC at $50 a month. My immediate desire is to turn my website http://www.VisionSimulations.com into an iPad app. The site is built around SWF's created in Swish. Can Indesign include these SWFs in documents, and published them to the iPad? I don't mean with a ton of hard coding, either.
Also, I might put a forum at my website. Can InDesign include something like a iFrame in my document, so that people can view my forum through the app?

No. SWF is completely unsupported.
Yes, you can use a web content overlay to show the website, but before you embark on this you should most certainly get yourself familiar not only with DPS but with Apple's requirements for apps submitted to them.

Help with Exporting files in Aperture

Hello looking for your help (first time poster)
My problem is when I export using Aperture the file size almost triples . I Import Nikon RAW file, make my adjustments and export by using export version- TIFF original size 16bit.
The file size in Aperture is 50mb and when I check it in photoshop the file size is 143mb this is killing my hard drive!!

In either 16bit TIFF or PSD - esp if you have multiple bitmapped layers you are going to end up with big files, that is all there is to it. Are you sure you need PS to do your "tidying up" In most cases the answer is probably not depending on what "tidying up" means.

The NetStream.Publish.BadName status means an attempt was made to publish to a stream that is already being published by someone else. Is another client using the same stream name?
About the connections being closed, there a lots of conditions that could cause the connection to be lost. It may not be an FMS or FMLE error, it could be poor conditions on the local network, or between the local network and the server.

I have a weird issue:
Just installed a Lync Standard 2013.
Everything works except I keep getting this error in Log: every 30 minute or so.
First an Error: Event 47067
A server did not respond to HTTP request
Server lyncserver.domain.local did not respond to HTTP request PublishCertRequest targeted at
https://lyncserver.domain.local:444/LiveServer/UserPinService.
Cause: Server might be down or the network path between servers might not be properly configured.
Resolution:
Please ensure that the server can be connected on the target port using telnet and then re-try.
Then I get a Warning: Event 47068
GetAndPublish web service failed.
Certificate could not be published in the database associated with User Services Cluster [lyncserver.domain.local ]. Request Details - Entity: [[email protected]], Device Id: [6BB30A3E-2923-553A-8E5F-0B2FB2CEA330], Authenticated User: [sip:[email protected]].
Additional Context: [Publish_Failure: OtherFailure;HttpNoResponse:"lyncserver.domain.local "]
Cause: This could be due to network connectivity issues with the remote server, or because the database is down.
Resolution:
Please ensure that the user services is reachable and the database is up and running.

Please check you can telnet port 443 and port 444 on Lync Front End Serve from client.
Try to regenerate a new certificate for Lync Front End Server.
Check all the services on Lync Front End Server are started.
Check the option “Enable all purposes for this certificate” is checked for the trusted root CA certificate.

Run MMC--Add\Remove Snap-ins--certificates--Local Computer--Trusted Root Certificate Authorities--Certificates, find the Root CA certificate you installed--Properties--General, check the "Enable all purposes for this certificate".

Using variable name for Netstream Publish() (actionscript)

Relatively new to Actionscript. In the netstream publish() or play() methods, can I pass variable names to the methods instead of hard-coding the stream name?
Example:

NetStream.Publish.BadName

For some reason my Internet connection between FME and FMS is
not stable. When connection
with my live stream is dropped I can't reconnect to FMS and
I'm getting " NetStream.Publish.BadName"
error. It is because previous session (project) exists for
random time.
The only solution I made is to put FME in command line mode
in batch continous loop (as
FME exits on that error so the standard reconnect procedure
does not work) - it takes even
few minutes in few cases I was able to trace (many tries). In
GUI mode situation is much is
worse - there is dialog window that requires clicking when
that error occurs.
The other one is manual and requires someone watching stream
24/7 - vhost restart - plus all
clients are dropped. Baaad - it is better to make clients
wait for stream 2-5 minutes than force all of them
to restart live stream Flash player.
Is live streaming with FME + FMS designed to work only on
stable LAN connection?
Even if that is true such disconnects can occur - so this bug
is really anoying.
Does anyone found other solutions than mine?

The same problem with latest FME 3.2 and FMS 4.5 default live app. Setting PublishTimeout=-1 serverside and/or increasing reconnect interval in FME does not help.
Any workaround except custom live app with shared objects?

i assume, from your post, that you are using FMS and are publishing a multicast stream.
if you are using the "Flash Media Development Server", prior to release 4.5, multicast streams time out after about 10 minutes. as of release 4.5, multicast streams time out after about 30 minutes. to see this and other limits of the Development Server, see:

if that is not the problem, then if you are writing your own server-side scripts, perhaps you are not anchoring a NetStream, Stream, or NetConnection object properly and it is being destroyed by the garbage collector.
if you need more help with Flash Media Server, you should direct your questions to the Flash Media Server forums. the Codename Cirrus service is not based on FMS.

The only thing I can think of is there is an issue with your authentication. Have you changed your justin.tv password since you generated the XML file? In the justin.tv wiki it says
"IMPORTANT: Beware that the text box labeled "Stream" contains a key that is like a password for streaming to your channel. Be careful when you are broadcasting your desktop not to show that area!"
This implies to me that the XML file gets generated using the password that you use when you logged into justin.tv. I think if you generate the XML and then change your password the XML file expires. Try generating a new XML file, make sure to Open it in FMLE and try streaming again.

I found an answer to this on another page (I was having the same problem) This worked for me:
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.

When I rip a CD to iTunes. All goes well until I click on All Albums. If there are other artists named with the Title Artist they are shown as different albums so I end up with 16 albums containing 1 track instead of 1 Album with 16 tracks. Can I fix this

Had a similar problem with two tracks from a cd being segregated in a separate list, but with the same album title and artwork as the other 19 tracks. I found that by double clicking the artist field next to the album icon you can then edit that info. In your case it sounds as if you might want to erase the artist info altogether. Once you have done that, all the tracks magically group together, as they should have done in the first place. Oh there might be a dialog box first, asking if you really want to do this.

Images NOT importing to iPhoto library, I only end up with thumbnails.

I am importing images to my iPhoto 11 library, but I only end up with thumbnails. Originals are NOT importing as masters. In Advanced Preferences, I DO have 'Copy items to iPhoto Library' checked. I have tried importing jpg's from a folder and a DVD, and results are always the same - thumbnails only, no originals to be found.

I have a iMac 21.5 ultimo 2013 2,9 GHz Intel Core i5, and i bought it from another guy, so i just wanted to start my ¨new¨ iMac on a fresh, didn't wanna use my backup file on my Time Machine, everything else (what i wanted to have on my iMac, like files, programs, musik) i have on my old MacBook is now on my iMac, except all my photo´s.
I can't find a way to get it, only have thumbnail in iphoto, i can't get the masters to open up.

HT1386 when i try to sync, each device i sync to ends up with different amount of information, for instance in iTunes, i have my eric claption collection which has 34 albums. but when i sync to my i phone, there are only 26 albums, same with my touch, on

When I sync my I tune music library to my other devices, none of the other devices end up with the same amount of music. For instance, in my itunes library on my mac, i have 34 complete albums. When I sync to my iphone only 26 albums come over (it is not a memory issue, i have 25 gb of free space on my iphone), on my touch, again syncing with changing anysetting, i only getr 26 albums, but not the same 26 albums that i get with my iphone, again no memory issue. When I sync my ipad mini, my clapton collection tells me I have 48 albums with 340 songs, agin on my mac I only have 34 albums with 421 songs, agan, no setting changed between syncs. on My Ipad tablet, my clapton library shows 340 songs with 57 albums. By the way if I go into my clapton library and count manually how many albums are on my ipad there are only 25.
Tech suppoert has been worthless, they keep haveing me do the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result. Pure insanityl

Are all these songs associated with the same Apple ID or were some purchased on another account?
Are they tagged properly? In the library does it break an album out into several different albums with a few tracks each?
Check your sync settings for each device. Do you accidentally have only certain songs/albums syncing?
