I am new to SAP and still learning but we I have found a error that I am not able to resolve it has to with ADS here is the output from the Web Application.

Hi,
We have fixed the above ADS issue with help of SAP OSS message, they request to cleanup ADS binary file with below step then it worked fine.
1. Shutdown J2EE engine
2. Rename the folder
/usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/j2ee/os_libs/adssap
to antoher folder name (ex. adssap.old)
3. Start J2EE engine
It worked fine after trying the above steps.

When I try to create a new class with transaction se24
I get the following message "No changes for user SAP* allowed"
Can anyone help me on this issue ?
How can extend right to that user in order not to be blocked.

SAP Netweaver Installation Issue on Windows 7

Hi,
I was trying to install Netweaver 7.3 (Java) in my windows 7 and when I was in step 30 of 33 (Java components deployment)
I got the following error
Error message is 'undefinednull:ram-PC:50004 Reason: com.sap.engine.services.rmi_p4.P4IOException: Cannot open connection to host: 10.10.0.10 and port: 50004. Check if the host and port specified are correct and AS Java is up and running.. SOLUTION: Check 'undefined' and '' for more information.).
I have successfully created loopback adapter and able to ping the IP address of the adapter . But when SAP server is trying to connect to this adapter using port 50004 and Its getting the error message . I don't know how to assign the port number to this loop back adapter.
I tried to use telnet but it failed . (telnet ram-PC 50004 )

Host name : ram-PC
As I am new to SAP , Please let me know is there any file where I need to define host and port ? Do I need to update service.msc file from windows\system32\drivers\etc\ ? If so, what would be the service name and port ?
Steps taken to resolve this issue :
updated windows host file with IP and host name (10.10.0.10 ram-PC)
updated windows service file with host and port (ram-PC 50004) - This step might be wrong (Do I need to use hostname or service name ?)
uninstalled Antivirus
Turned off windows firewall
Added loopback adapter IP address to Windows firewall inbound rules .
None of the above steps resolved the error . Please help me on the above issue.any help would be appreciated .

Netweaver JMS issues

I have a stand alone enterprise java application (not an EJB) that currently runs on several servers (one application per server). This application allows us to do parellel processing for performance reasons. Another important distinction is that we use a JMS Point-to-Point model with multiple consumers receiving messages off a single queue. The application is basically a JMS asynchronous message consumer, meaning it implements the javax.jms.MessageListener interface so it has the onMessage method.
Currently I have been using JBoss 4.0 as our JMS Provider. I have had no issues for awhile now with multiple consumers receiving messages off a single queue. Recently, I have been asked to move to use Netweaver's JMS provider. I was successful in changing the configurations and sending and receiving messages using the Netweaver JMS provider. However, it appears that I cannot get multiple consumers to receive messages off a single queue. I can successfully launch off several of our applications on several servers all listening to the single queue and I can also put multiple messages into that single queue. However, it appears that only one message consumer can receive a message off the single queue at one time (all the other message consumers seem to wait until the one message is done processing).
Again, I changed the configurations back to JBoss and everything worked fine (I also did it for OpenJMS and it worked as well). My quess is that I either did not setup something correctly or I need to make some kind of administative or jms setting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Just a side note. If I poll for messages on the single queue instead of using the onMessage() method with multiple message consumers I am able to run parellel processes.

We are talking P2P with load balancing and scaling for throughput. Moving this to a pub/sub is a bad performance move as typically pub/sub is more time and resource intensive than P2P.
Just make sure that in your JNDI definition your queue has been marked as shareable. As the JMS spec goes it does not help if the provider side of the queue has the queue marked as not shared. As well if the app reading from the queue through the listener has it opened in exclusive mode all the others are waiting.
This means some investigation may be needed.
A) JNDI verify JMSDestination is defined as shareable
b) programming wise verify that putting the listener to the queue does not make the mode opened as exclusive.
Typically you would have implemented an MDB. You need to check the number of instances that you have defined for the MDB. As well you may define the same destination with multiple JNDI names and thus set different MDBs on the same queue (but same MDB class).

SAP's implementation of JMS persistence is through a Database. Make sure locking happens at the record level and not at the page level.

ADS ISSUE-- /adssap directory empty!

Hi Experts,
I got an issue with my Webdynpro applications when I´m using Adobe Document Services, the log file shows that there´s no /usr/sap/SID/JC00/j2ee/os_libs/adssap/XMLFormService/bin/XMLForm.exe
/adssap directory and its subfolders are empty, How can i fill them?

Starting with SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Support Package Stack 16 patch level 30, BI Java is delivered according to the synchronized delivery process described in the note 1164789.
2. Please ensure that NetWeaver Business Intelligence Diagnostics & Support Desktop Tool does not report any issues on your server according to note 937697. You can start it by clicking here (administrator permissions are required).
3. When opening any customer message on this issue, please attach:

NetWeaver installation issue with SP13

Hi,
I have recently downloaded the complete NetWeaver 2004s Stack13 installation for Windows/MSSQL. I have extraceted all of the folders from the executable zip and copied all of the .sar files from the _1 directory to a temporary directory. Then I downloaded SAPCAR.exe v7.0 copied it to the same temp directory and did the following from the command prompt:
sapcar -xvf *.sar
I receieved the error message "format error in header".
How do I proceed from here? I did a Google search about this and the solution is to use the latest SAPCAR, but I am already "700_REL build 780172".

I appreciate the help but I've tried all of these already without success, the SAPCAR versions I tried were 2.0, 6.5, and 7.0; I know the v7.0 version is the latest release of SAP CAR I've asked around internally about that one.
Next I also tried this with numerous filenames and none of them work individually.
sapcar -xvf XXXX.CAR
sapcar -xvf XXXX.SAR
All I can think of so far is that my download somehow was corrupted but I can't help but wonder how the executable zip was able to decompress the SARs and CARs to their respective directories if this was the case. Maybe there is a probably with the way in which these files were packaged and posted on service market place...
The files that I downloaded were located on service marketplace under:
SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 (2004S) -> Installation and Upgrade -> Windows Server -> MS SQL Server -> 51033130_X NW 7.0(2004s)Stack13-2007/12
I downloaded all six of them for this 51033130_X......Has anyone else tried this? The last changed date for these files was 14.12.2007.

I have a project that I want to use it in many languages, and I want users to be able to choose their own language. So far, I can change language of portal/applications/ui elements name etc.
I have 2 problems.
1- I have developed an application that user can choose language. But after selection, user must relog in order for the changes to take effect. But I do not want to force users to relog. Is there a way to get over this that I can do it automatically? Like session refresh etc.
2 - By turning ume.logon.locale value to true, a dropdown of languages is added to login page. But selecting language from dropdown does not change anything. Is there a way to make it work?

Netweaver Caching Issue

The problem that I have encountered is that changes are not reflecting in Portal after I have updated the link in URL of Resource Object using SPRO>Change View "Define Resources(add entries)": Details
I have made an updated copy of htm file, which is found in servlet_jsp\_default\root\
Somehow Portal does some caching of its own and refuses to display the updated htm file. If you refresh the htm page with CTRL-F5, you will receive the updated copy, but if you just press F5 in your browser to refresh, it will revert back to the old copy of htm.
Even if I have delete all my source htm files in servlet_jsp\_default\root\, Portal still manage to show the old htm file from some caches of it's own.
My question is, are there any post-steps need to be done to refresh Portal for reflecting the latest updated changes?

ADS Credential Rights Issue. All reports checks successful...

I am having an ADS issue in my EP production environment. When users click on any adobe form, it gives 2 popup, stating
1) u201CThis document enabled extended feature in Adobe Reader. The use of the extended features has expiredu201D
2) u201CThis document enabled extended feature in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and use of extended feature is no longer available. Please contact the author for the original version of this document.u201D
And it displays the below errors in the log.
Log location:--> /usr/sap/<SID>/JC00/j2ee/cluster/server0/log
1) com.adobe.ProcessingException: Required stream: "PDFDocument" not found in request OR its length is zero.
2) com.adobe.ProcessingException: Credential login error while applying usage rights to PDF: /var/tmp/adobewa_EPP_14070851/DM-4025786556068948812.dir/DM-6606423593397490494.tmp
Specific error information:
error while logging into credential '^0'
GeneralError: Operation failed.
SecurityHandler.login:-1:
Could not create temporary file
Troubleshooting Steps I have followed
Step 1: I observed the u201CCredential Keyu201D in Visual Admin got expired.
Action: I sent a request to SAP Market place to request a new credential key and got a new key.
Resolution: The credential key was applied to all server nodes, all required ADS service were restarted and u201CWASu201D was restarted.
Step 2: Ran reports (FP_TEST_00, FP_PDF_TEST_00, FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE, and FP_TEST_IA_01)
Action: Ran reports in se38
Resolution: All reports were successful.
Step 3: Followed all instructions for the below links

Problems with ads sp14

hello,
we have programmed interactive forms with webdynpro for abap using netweaver ads sp12. Now we have upgrade to ads sp14 and have with the the same webdynpros only errors.
Are there new configuration-rules on sp14 in comparance to sp12?

there are known issues with ADS as of SP14
As of SP14 (NW 7.0) you will get authorization issues as the Roles has been changed
Still the 403 error is not indicating an issue as you should be able to test ADS with FP_PDF_TEST_00 or FP_TEST_00

Image Field - Scaling Issue

Hi,
I'm using Interactive Forms for priting sales orders. For each line item I display a small product image in an image field. For this image field I use the setting "Sizing - Scale Image Proportionally". If I use this form as a print form evrything works fine, the image is being scaled correctly. But if I use it as an interactive form (parameter /1BCDWB/DOCPARAMS-FILLABLE = 'X' ) the following occurs:
The image is being resized to fit into the image field. It looks like using "Sizing - Scale Image to Fit Rectangle". The funny thing: If I use a default image for this field, it is being displayed correctly in the "Body Pages" tab, but not in the "PDF Preview". It's only being scaled proportionally if in the form properties the preview type is "Print Form" (or parameter /1BCDWB/DOCPARAMS-FILLABLE = ' ' ).
In my eyes it looks like an ADS issue. But maybe somebody of you got an idea how I could fix that problem.

the process which u followed is correct but the thing is u hv forget to enable the check box called "embedded image"........ which will be present in the image properties.......... if u enable this check box then the image will be displayed in pdf preview.

I get ads on websites that aren't there when I use IE or a different computer.

When using Firefox on Facebook, I get ads that are all over the place on facebook and other websites I normally visit nearly daily. However, using Internet Explorer or other computers and visit the same websites, I don't get the ads issues. I've also had Facebook log in to my account and they don't see the ads on their end either. Therefore it must be in my computer side somewhere. I've tried to delete EVERYTHING involved with Firefox and tried to redownload it. But its not solving my issue. I've deleted cookies, history, temp files, everything, and nothing is getting it to work proper again. But again, works if I don't use Firefox or if I use a different computer. My 3 programs that search and destroy all spam, viruses, malware, adware, etc. are not solving my issue either. Please help.

I actually did one other thing I hadn't done yet....I had opened the "Add-ons" section of Firefox, noticed there was an add-on I actually never placed there, called something like "Shopanywhere.com" I believe. Once I disabled it, restarted Firefox, reopened the Add-ons, and then removed it. Restarted Firefox once more, now the ads are gone completely. Did another clean sweep with my 3 awesome adware/virus protection programs and have no more issues. Thanks for the help!

ADOBE Interactive Form not getting displayed in Browse

Currently I am working on EhP4 project on ECC 6.0 environment. For HCM, We have interactive ADOBE forms for MSS. While testing we found that all buttons are displayed in a browser (we are are window 7 IE 8 ) but interactive form is not getting displayed in the browser (Fill out Form as part of MSS). It only displays a line
Checked ADS configuration as per oss note and works ok. Did HTTPWATCH - browser is getting (GET) the Adobe forms with values but not displaying it. If I copy URL from HTTPWATCH GET line in a separate browser window it displays the form.

We were having this same problem, and this Note fixed the issue (thanks!). However, we are still experiencing another issue with HCM Processes and Forms under EhP4. Before this Note, it took about ten minutes before "single line display" would show up. Now after the Note, we get the full form, but it still takes ten solid minutes of waiting before it appears in the window. We're pretty sure it's not a Portal issue, nor an ADS issue, but something with the web dynpros on the ABAP side. However, we have not yet been able to resolve it. Anyone else run into this performance problem with HCMP&F after upgrading to EhP4? We don't have the problem with EhP3.
