Network DAQ Connectivity Issue

Hello, I am having connectivity trouble with my NI cDAQ 9191, which is a network DAQ device.
The strange thing is that I can get it to work on one laptop, but not the client's laptop. Both laptops are actually the same model (HP Probook 5430s) running Windows 7. Here is a list of what my setup is:
Ad Hoc network provided by cDAQ9191, no security
Static IP address set on both ethernet and wireless settings on cDAQ 9191
LabVIEW executable built and tested on both computers, running the code attached continuously
Firewalls on both computer turned off
IPv4 settings on both laptops set to all automatic
Both computers connected to the ad-hoc network tried in all of the following configurations: one-by-one, both computers connected at the same time, with ethernet adapter disabled, with ethernet adapter enabled
The code works on both computers when connected via ethernet, but the problem exists when the client's computer is connected to the ad-hoc wifi network (which is unfortunately a requirement).
The specific occurance is that the code will connect successfully, but then timeout the connection in the False case and then not connect again until i reset the network adapter. This can be repeated over and over again.
Does anyone on here know of some other network settings I can tweak to try to get this to work?
Thank you for any advice that could help me solve this problem.
Best,
James

Sorry, I should have been more clear:
The 9191 is set to a static IP address "169.254.1.26" and the laptops have their IPv4 settings for the wifi adapter set to DHCP/automatic. This causes the laptops to adopt the subnet of the network to which they connect, and therefore the same subnet as the 9191. This works great on one laptop, but not the client's laptop.
I can connect to the ad-hoc network on the client's computer, and it stays connected, according to Windows. But the DAQmx network device connection disconnects right after connecting. The is not the case when I run the same executable on my computer, so I'm assuming it must be some difference between the laptops, most likely network setting related.

  • Officejet Pro 8610 - Can't connect to wireless network (and has similar issue with previous printer)

When I returned from a trip, I was unable to connect to my trusty HP All-in-one 7510 that I had on my network for three years.  I tried troubleshooting it, reinstalling the software on numerous computers, and fixing the printer, but alas the printer said that it was connected to the network, and none of my computers wanted to find it anymore.
Then I bought my new Officejet Pro 8610 this week, set it up...and I am experiencing the same issue.  I tried using the link and support took from this post - http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup/Officejet-Pro-8610-Can-t-connect-to-wi... but the printer was unable to be found on the network.
I would appreciate any help on this issue.  Thanks!

    Hello @Celestialnova ,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that you are having problems with your wireless network.
    I would like to help.
Since the same issue happened with two different model of printers, lets take a moment to check the network.

  • Networked P4015tn, automated printing issues.

I support a program that uses MS Word to create reports automatically.  The process opens a Word template, feeds in the data, saves the new document then sends it to a HP P4015tn printer on the network.  This process is repeated for each report the user requests, usually 20-50 documents.  The problem we are having is that some documents arent being printed and some documents arent printing in their entirety, they get a page or two then it starts the next document.  I know that our software is functioning correctly because the word documents are being created and saved, and they are printed if the user picks a different printer.
This problem is happening to one of our clients, so I dont have much more information on their setup.  The only other information I have is a test I did.  I ran the report process with the printer paused, and all the documents spooled into the printer queue.  Once the process finished and all the documents were queued, I un-paused the printer, and all the documents printed correctly.  When the process runs with the queue live (not paused), documents get lost.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Can't access "Network" and other performance issues

    Hi all,
I'm facing a catch-22 and am not sure what to do to get myself and my mac out of this downward spiral. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated (fyi I am admittedly not great with macs and probably don't maintain my MacBook Pro well enough).
I've had a serious slowdown in performance starting a couple weeks ago. the system moves at a glacial pace and most of the time is spent watching the spinning rainbow.
To add to my issues, my ISP recently performed a system upgrade which requires me to change some settings under "Network" in my system preferences. Well, when I try to access "Network", the machine thinks for a while, then an error message appears telling me that the network preferences has shut down unexpectedly. When I hit "retry" the error message eventually reappears.
So, because of the upgrade, I can't access the internet to download any repairs for the machine, and because of the problems with the machine, I can't modify the preferences to access the internet. Obviously a vicious cycle which someone of my expertise level is struggling to solve.
    Side notes
    - I've passed the 90-day phone support period so can't call for help.
    - I'm on my work computer now. Could I download some repair/diagnostic tool here, then run it on my machine at home?
If anyone can throw me a lifeline I would be grateful!

    OZ 99,
For logic's sake, I'm gong to take these out of order a bit:
    2) A "disk error" occurs when the "file system" (sometimes called the "disk directory") becomes damaged. This is data that is written to the HD, so yes, it could be considered a software error. Your file system is, basically, a map of your physical HD, and it indexes the location on the drive of all the other files. When it is damaged for whatever reason, your disk "forgets" where some amount of data lives. Because of this, the associated files become damaged, or "corrupt." If those files happen to be critical components of the OS, bad things can happen. At worst, the disk will become unmountable, and all of your files unrecoverable.
    1) Disk errors can be caused by several things. Sometimes, one or more "blocks" (let's call them physical locations on the disk) on your HD can become physically damaged. Whether this is because of a slight flaw in manufacturing, a scratch, magnetic particles that lose their "oomph," whatever, matters not. What is important is that some data is lost. Because the file system still believes there is data living in this location, it (the file system) is no longer reliable; it is damaged. While the initial loss of data could be considered hardware-related, the disk error is not. I'll come back to this.
Another potential cause is some random error in the process of writing data to the disk. Again, this is a software problem, not a hardware problem. The most common cause for this occurs when your computer is shut down improperly, either a forced shutdown or a power loss. Journaling, which is the default for an OS X boot volume, goes a long way toward automatically fixing these types of disk errors, but it is not always a guarantee.
If you have had your MBP for only a short period of time, it is not surprising that a disk error has occurred, and probably because of a bad block. Absolutely flawless drives are rare, and many computers ship with incipient disk errors. For this reason, many people like to format any new drive, even one in a new computer, right out of the box (I'll get to reasons why this is a good thing to do).
    3) Yes. Disk Utility can check or repair your file system. Any repairs must be made using Disk Utility while booted to the OS X install disk. Your HD can be "verified," however, while booted to the HD. Simply open Disk Utilty (in the "Utilities" folder), select your startup disk, then click "Verify" in the "First Aid" pane.
    4) Yes, you will have to reinstall all of your applications after formatting and reinstalling. Formatting erases everything on the volume or drive selected. Settings and data for all of those applications can be saved, however, then transferred back to the MBP after reinstalling OS X. Once the applications, themselves, have been reinstalled, you will be right back where you started. I can talk about making a comprehensive backup in another post, if you like.
DISK UTILITY: In my first post, I recommended that you select your entire drive, then using the "Zero All Data" option. This process takes a considerably longer amount of time (as much as an hour and a half, depending on the size of your drive), but it has one big advantage. When this option is used on an entire physical drive (also called a "device"), it will scan for those pesky bad blocks, and "map out" any it finds. Since these bad spots on the disk will not be included in the new file system's list of "useable" locations, your chances of encountering another disk error in the near future is drastically reduced. So, even though a bad block could be considered a hardware error, management of them is handled by software.

  • Windows Server 2012 R2 - ADFS/Windows Network Load Balancing Converging Issue

    Hello,
My name is Brandon. We have started upgrading our servers to Windows Server 2012 R2. We have some powerful servers for running ESXI 5.5 as the OS with the Guest Operating Systems as Windows Server 2012 R2. As far of our migrations/upgrades we have configured
ADFS 2012 R2 into a Server Farm with Windows Network Load Balancing to add redundancy in the event a server goes down.
I have been having issues with a Node with the Cluster getting stuck in the Status of Converging. The only way I have been able to get it back up is to restart the virtual server completely and it is temporary. When I first configure the Cluster the two
virtual servers get added to the Node with no problems and fully converge. However, after some time a node will end up in Converging and this takes Authentication for ADFS down as the nodes can not be contacted over Port 443.

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that:2 ESXI 5.5 physical devices (192.168.0.5 and 192.168.0.6), each of them has a virtual WS 2012 R2(192.168.0.10 and 192.168.0.20). Cluster the 2 virtual servers successfully, but they corrupt with event
ID 21, and a restart of virtual device will resolve this problem temporarily.
Event ID 21 means that NLB failed to converge due to inconsistencies in the port rules between this host and cluster host. This will occur if the number of port rules or the type of port rules are different between hosts.
Ensure that all NLB hosts have identical port rules. Detailed steps you may reference:

Thank you for your response. It took me a while to figure it out, but the whole issue was related to the type of Virtual Network Adapter I was selecting.
I changed the network adapter from E1000 to VMXNET 3 and have not had a single error in the event logs or Windows NLB.
I read somewhere that VMXNET 3 is preferred for Windows Server 2012 R2.

Strange issue. Server 2012R2, Dell R710, Broadcom BCM5709C eth adapters. 2 of the adapters are on a LAG for hyper-v. 1 is not connected, 1 is connected for management.
Every time the server reboots, the management interface does not connect. The only fix is to connect via the DRAC, disable the not-connected adapter, then enable the not-connected adapter and then it properly connects to the network. Prior to that it shows up as "unidentified network"

  • Network and DNS Setup Issues

I am setting up an Xserv with Snow Leopard at my school, and I'm running into DNS issues.
I followed the excellent guide at http://labs.hoffmanlabs.com/node/1436 and believe I've set DNS up correctly, but I fail the changeip -checkhostname test (I've replaced my domain and server names):
    mserver:~ admin$ sudo changeip -checkhostname
    Primary address     = 10.10.10.2
    Current HostName    = myserver.mydomain.ns.ca
    DNS HostName        = myserver
To fix the hostname please run /usr/sbin/changeip for your system with the
appropriate directory with the following values
       /usr/sbin/changeip 10.10.10.2 10.10.10.2 myserver.mydomain.ns.ca myserver
    dirserv:success = "success"
I tried running the command as given, ("sudo /usr/sbin/changeip 10.10.10.2 10.10.10.2 myserver.mydomain.ns.ca myserver") but that didn't solve it. I'm not sure if that's the correct thing to do, or why that didn't work.
I have come to suspect that my issue is with network settings, and would appreciate advice on what I'm trying to do. The server (our only one) will be an OD master, a file server and a web server. It is inside our router, with an externally-reachable IP address and an internal one (the latter is 10.10.10.2). I have configured it with the two IPs on one port to avoid the issue with SL wanting two serial numbers. My System Preference > Network settings are as follows:
    Ethernet 1b (highest service order):
    IP Address: 10.10.10.2
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    Router: 10.10.10.1
    DNS Server: 127.0.0.1
    Search Domains: mydomain.ns.ca
Ethernet 1 (second highest service order):
    IP Address: <my external IP>
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.248
    Router: <my ISP's router>
    DNS Server: 127.0.0.1
    Search Domains: mydomain.ns.ca
    Ethernet 2:
    Not Connected
Although I'm unsure what it means (I'm more a teacher than a techie!), Server Admin > Settings > Network shows:
    Computer Name: myserver
    Local Hostname: myserver
    Network Interfaces:
    en0; IPv4; 10.10.10.2; myserver.mydomain.ns.ca
    Ethernet 1 (en0); IPv4; <my external IP>; myserver.local
The second of the interfaces above is bold.
The big issue I'm seeing on my network (possibly as a result of this, but everything I've seen says fix DNS first) is that network users can't log in although they have homes and can connect to the homes once logged in as local users.
Many thanks in advance for your help--the school year is closing in quickly!
    Regards,
    Alex

Thanks. I disabled the external IP & rebooted. Server Admin now has only the one IP. But I still get the same result:
    myserver:~ admin$ dscacheutil -flushcache
    myserver:~ admin$ sudo changeip -checkhostname
    Password:
    Primary address     = 10.10.10.2
    Current HostName    = myserver.mydomain.ns.ca
    DNS HostName        = myserver
To fix the hostname please run /usr/sbin/changeip for your system with the
appropriate directory with the following values
       /usr/sbin/changeip 10.10.10.2 10.10.10.2 myserver.mydomain.ns.ca myserver
    dirserv:success = "success"
    myserver:~ admin$
I ran dig on a client:

  • Apply network settings join domain issues

I create a default task sequence in CM 2012 R2. On the apply network settings there is the option to join the domain. If I select to join to the domain, there is an account to set.  I set the account and test the account (test button right there) and
    the test to ad succeeds.
I then apply and close the task sequence.  if you go back into the task sequence, and check the account to join domain, the password is now much longer than the original (only dots shown of course) and if I click test, the test FAILS.
I am not sure if that is the expected behavior or the root of my issue.
My issue is my machines are failing to join the domain.  Under Windows\Pather\UnattendGC, I see a log file with the error, failed to join domain, error code 5 (something like that).  When I look up that error, I see it means access denied.
    Any ideas?

The task sequence will never show the correct length of the password for security reasons, so that's the expected behavior.
Could you share what permissions you've given that account?
These are the permissions that I use:
Scope: This Object and all descendant objects
    - Create Computer Objects
    - Delete Computer Objects
    Scope: Descendant Computer Objects
    - Read All Properties
    - Write All Properties
    - Read Permissions
    - Modify Permissions
    - Change Password
    - Reset Password
    - Validated write to DNS host name
    - Validated write to services principal name
This will work for every kind of deployment scenario that you may have to use the account in.

  • L505 Laptop_network connectivity issue

L505 Laptop working great for last couple of years, until recent network issue...
L505 successfully connects to router, both wired and wirelessly, however, no Internet access.
Other devices in house (both wireless and wired) connect successfully to the Internet.
Using FING utility on L505, I can see other devices on my network, including my router at address xxx.xxx.xxx.001. However, I can not successfully PING any of them.
I did a Mcafee virus scan recently. That is the last thing I can remember doing before this problem started.

  • Network Disk / Air Disk Issues

After recently upgrading the external hard drives at my workstation, I decided to try and use one of my Maxtor 5000DV drives as a networked drive - plugged into my AirPort base station.
I'm a guy who has used the Mac since it's inception in 1984 - one reason being that stuff "just works."
Of course, as we all know, that's not necessarily true. Some features, especially new ones, just DON'T. It's almost as if we're just beta testing stuff for Apple. If they can make it work over time, then they finally evolve it into something great, and if they cannot, it simply vanishes never to be mentioned again.
I feel that's where I am with this feature of AirPort.
I have called SIX different manufacturers of external hard drives. NOT ONE will tell me their product does or does not work when connecting to AirPort. What they will say is that it "should" work, and that they do not warranty it will work because the drives are not intended to be used in this manner.
    (1) My networked drive just disappears. I cannot reconnect to it unless I go into the sharing tab for the disk in APU, turn off sharing, reset, then go back in and turn it back on. Then the disk will be available, for a while. But it is not stable and always stops working at some point. I guess Apple forgot to mention instability issues when using this feature as a selling point for the product.
    (2) If not all drives are going to work, then shouldn't there be a list of compatible drives out there? If Apple understands the engineering of this product, then they should know what makes a hard drive compatible, or they should offer their own solution.
I would appreciated any assistance that anyone can offer on this subject. I really need to make this work.

If that's why TM is not supported, then it must be a serious technical issue. However, the product remains "current", and is still being sold with the stated USB Drive feature-set. If it's that serious, then the USB Drive claims should be pulled, or at least Apple should provide a complete list of verified Hard-Drives that *fully support* that feature.
I believe this is exactly why someone in another post stated that he "felt like he was a beta-product tester for Apple." A very unusual claim, in my personal experience at least-- but one that should still be treated with integrity and compassion by Apple.
There's an awful lot of AEBS users out there!

  • Network is not the issue with 8.1.3 Update issue...

Apple TV issues since 8.1.3 supposedly fixed connectivity issues and I was "told to trouble shoot network issues" as they appear from time to Time" been with AppLE since 1989 and believe me I tested all know issues in our totally AppLE network, even ran download test with Comcast.  Best we can tell 8.1.3 and the subsequent updates to Apple TV killed the streaming internally and makes the old 8.5 hrs (or some other ramdom number, usually in hours) to download issue to reappear.  We had no issues prior to this upgrade and now basically have limited access and as previously stated when you start a movie rental, it takes a bit but if it starts and crashes midway through the movie, if and when you can get it to restart it won't go back to the stopped point on Resume Play and if you can't get it restarted you are hosed in 24 hrs when the time expires.
8.1.3 has a problem and like it or not it seems not to be widespread.  unfortunately there is no revert to previous version on Apple TV.... And no we are not using old equipment but products that are less than 3 months old and an Apple wireless hub.
JUst want to call attention to this issue in case there might be an actual Apple developer or tech support guru listening.  Don't need some "did you troubleshoot your network" BS....

If you have synced with iTunes before, I would download the update via iTunes in a first step and install it in a second step. That way you can be sure that the update data is complete and not corrupted during the download. The update size via iTunes is bigger, because you'll get the whole iOS downloaded and not just those parts that needed to be changed, as you get, when you download over Wi-Fi onto your phone.

  • [OIM] OIM on WS Network Deploymen Certificate renew issue

    Gentlemen..
Scenario: OIM 9.1.0.1 on a WebSphere 6.1 (Network Deployment). We had a cert for an Active Directory server that has expired last days. We have now a new certificate from the server that expires on 2010. We removed the old cert from both keystores:
    WEBSPHERE_HOME/java/jre/lib/security/cacerts
    WEBSPHERE_HOME/AppServer/profiles/SERVER_NAME/config/cells/CELL_NAME/nodes/NODE_NAME/trust.p12
the problem is, that at every LDAPs Operation the message "the certificate date is no longer valid" still appears. We tried restarting OIM node, JMS node, the Manager node, but the problem persists. So I think that it can be stored in a third keystore that itsn't in the documentation, or that we have to restart the entire AppServer (something we don't want to do, because there are more applicaitons running). Can it be some cache problem?
    TXS!

    For future reference...
We followed the following instructions and created a shared lib.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12524_01/web.1013/e12290/opensrc.htm#BABDDAIF
We resolved most of our class loading issues.

  • E-print wireless connectivity issues

I have recently purchased an e-print enabled printer (yesterday evening), and have not been able to get it to download any apps. I bought it specificly to print via Google's Cloud Print service. I am able to connect to my wifi access point (it's a Meraki Access Point hooked to a switch, which is hooked to the DSL modem).  However, when I go to apps, I keep getting the message that there are problems connecting to the server.
    Here is what I know:
I am able to connect to my access point with no issues.
The Wireless Network Test Report prints out that there are no issues. Everything listed has passed.
There are no firewalls enabled on both my access point and my DSL modem.
All other machines hooked to my access point are able to access the internet.
I am getting an internal IP address form my access point.
When I enter the Wireless Setup portion of the menu system, it states that I am not connected. When I repeat the process of connecting to my SSID, I get the same error.
    Additonal information:
Product Name: HP Photosmart D110 All-in-One series.
OS: Not applicable, but Windows 7 64-bit
Error Message: On printer: "There is a problem connecting to the server. Press Retry to connect again, or OK to exit." The blue wireless light is also blinking.
No changes made, this is a brand new out-of-the-box printer.
If there are any additional pieces of information needed, please ask! I would like to have this working relativly soon (the next couple days). Thank you so much!
    EDIT:
In case this helps, here is a screen shot of my event log for the printer on my access point.

    Hi Oli
Does the info below on connecting to the network help?
    https://h30495.www3.hp.com/help#eprint
    Connect to the network
ePrint requires that the printer is connected to your home network and has direct Internet access. ePrint will not work if your printer is only connected via USB to your PC.
To connect to your home network via wireless or Ethernet (wired):
    Wireless connection:
Use the Wireless Setup Wizard on your printer to connect to your wireless network. On most printers you can press the Wireless button on the printer display or on the printer front panel to access your network wireless settings.
This is how the wireless button appears:
Wired connection (not available on all printers):
Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to your router, and the other end to your printer. Note: If you do not have an Ethernet port on the rear of your printer, your printer does not support an Ethernet connection.
Web Services: Once your printer is connected to your network you need to ensure that Web Services are enabled to use Print Apps and ePrint.
Photosmart: Depending on the printer model, use the Enable Web Services option available under the Setup>Wireless>Web Services, or Setup>Web menus on the printer, or via the ePrint icon on the printer front panel home screen.
Officejet: Select the Setup>Web Services Setup option to enable Web Services. Ensure that both ePrint and Apps are turned 'ON' in Web Services setup.
LaserJet: Print a configuration page from your printer to locate the IP address. Open a Web browser and type the product IP address into the address line. The HP-embedded Web Server will open. Click the HP Web Services tab. Select the option to enable Web Services. When Web Services are enabled, ePrint information appears in the HP Embedded Web Server. Look for the e-mail address that is automatically assigned to the product. The product also prints an HP Web Services page that contains this e-mail address and instructions for using the service.
ePrint can be affected by problems with a router or Internet service provider. If you are having problems with ePrint and you believe your printer is properly connected to your home network, use a web browser on a computer that is attached to your home network to confirm that your home network is functioning properly and that Internet access is available.
For wireless connections, check the signal strength indicator on your printer to confirm that you have a strong signal. On some printers, signal strength is shown on the front panel display. On other printers, you may need to open the Setup > Wireless menu on the front panel display. In some cases, it may be necessary to move the printer closer to your router to retain a consistent connection or improve performance.
Some networks require a proxy setting to be configured on the printer to access the Internet. This can be done via the Embedded Web Server (EWS) of the printer or the printer's control panel, depending on the printer. Refer to the printer User Guide for more details on using EWS or configuring proxy settings.

  • NETWORKING: PPTP vpn routing issue.

I tried this on many MACs since 10.4 till my actual 10.8.2.
PPTP connection against atipical subnet 192.168.0.0/23.
The RAS server has a 192.168.1.71 wich is the gateway for the destination 192.168.1.0/24 in my routing table.
The Apple client can only connect to 192.168.1.0/24 subnet, while in the remote 192.168.0.0/23 includes 192.168.0.1-192.168.1.254.
If i manually add the route 192.168.0.0/24 192.168.1.71 it works like a charm.
No matter to say it is a Windows PPTP RAS and that no Windows client of any version (XP-8) has this networking issue.
By now, i'm using a little bash script i send to ppl using MAC that need to connect to the vpn, that adds the route.
Thanks in advance, any help will be highly appreciated!

Just hold comments on this one for the moment. I have stripped the config completely (including not having a Management Interface) and it is working now. Need to test further and get the config back to what it should be.
