Never seen this happen before, have you?
Hi everyone,
I have never seen this happen before, were I edit a segment of video about 2 minutes long, I render it out and afterwards the clips in my edit change completely to something different. It takes footage from the same tape and replaces my clips with random clips.
Does anyone know what is happening and how to fix it.
I have just erased and installed a fresh copy of OSX and all my programs have been newly installed, hoping it would resolve this issue.
I could really use someones opnion.

Only thing I though of was deleting the clips, renaming the timeline, moving the entire project onto a new harddrive and erasing all the render files.
If this does not work I am going to toss my MAC out the window!

I am having strange issue with my apple tv...i set up pictures to scroll through to the tv using home sharing. Now album covers are interspersed with my pictures. I have been using apple tv for a while and never had this happen before
Are you watching this content though iCloud or though from iTunes on your local computer? If it is from iCloud have you tried downloading the content to iTunes and watching it on ATV from that source to see if it still happens? This is geerally a much more reliable way to view the content. Easer to fast forward and rewind too.

Have you checked your wireless rounter? Tried doing the factory restor on it? Upgrading it's firmware? Is it and or ATV getting extreamly hot when this problme happens? -

Wondering if anyone has seen this before -
Just a second ago I opened up a Logic session to start a mix. The tracks were recorded in PT HD, consolidated, and imported into Logic 8. I started playing the mix back and hit Command = to open up the mixer (i use PT commands in Logic) and everything all of the sudden slowed down and sounded like someone had dropped a bunch of springs on the floor or something.
An error message came up saying "Error while trying to synchronize audio and MIDI. Sample rate of 22437 recognized." I shut off Logic, did not save, restarted my computer, opened the session again, and right when I hit my key command to open the mixer, that sound occurred and I got the same error message. However, if I click the Mixer tab, the sound doesn't occur and I don't get the error message, only when I use my key command.
The tracks were recorded at 88.2/24 and imported into the session at 88.2/24, and yes, the sample rate of the session matches the sample rate of the tracks. And yes, all of my gear is clocked to 88.2 at the moment.
Anyone have any ideas? Anyone seen this before?Strange, have you checked for doubled key commands?
Logic defaults to "set locators by region/events" perhaps the key commands file has been corrupted.

I've never seen this problem before!
When I start my half-life/counter-strike application, i hear the music and sound-effects of the opening, but there is nothing at all displayed on the screen. This happened right after I switched my monitor to a flatscreen. I'm not sure if the resolution/refresh is incorrect so it can't display or what, but i need help. Reinstalling did nothing. To clarify, I reinstalled directX, the video drivers, and the game. I have this problem with definitely one other game and maybe others (Axis and Allies doesnt work in the same way haha). And my computer is probably not simply "screwed" either, so thanks in advance if that was the advice you were going to give excited
A flatscreen or an LCD? It's amazing how many folks get those confused.
If it's an LCD, make sure the Hertz setting in the game (if it has one) does not exceed the Hertz limit of the monitor. I had this happen at work one time when I had my monitor switched out for an LCD. The game we played at lunch was set to 800x600 mode with a Hertz rate that exceeded the max for the LCD. It had the same effect you are describing - went blank every time but I could hear the start up music playing.

I have icloud on my Ipad and today it says icloud backup this ipad hasn't been backed up in weeks.Backups happen when this ipad is plugged in,locked, and connected to WiFi. Then OK, well, it will not let me OK it and or get on any of my icons. Like it is frozen. Nothing is on my screen (no icons) and it won't let me unlock it. I have cut it off, then back on and that didn't work. So, I need help.

What's going on? When I type the title of my new Pages document, iwork is substituting a hyphen for the colon I want. This is bizarre! How do I make my computer do my thing vs its thing? I have Pages '09.
Colons are used by the operating system so can't be used in file names.

Never seen this error before - video importing
Hello -
I am trying to import 130 min movie from FCP into iDVD4 and am receiving an error in iDVD that I've never gotten before, "Unsupported file type: invalid video."
The way I'm doing the import and the way I have always done it without issue, is:
1. FCP > Export > QT movie
2. QT > open FCP QT file > save as > rename file > it becomes a QT file
3. iDVD > Import > video > import the QT file
(so am not making it self-contained)
I tried importing other QT files into the iDVD project, and they work fine. So I think it must be something with the FCP 130 movie, but unsure what it is?

Just curious ..... How did you manage to import 2 hours and 10 mins. of QT Playback into iDvd4? The application (iDvd4) simply isn't designed for this much QT playback .... -
2 years, never had this happen before
Hello all,
I've had my MacBook for over 2 years, and I have been using JBL speakers off and on for these 2 years; now all of a sudden, today, I cannot use the internal speakers! When I hit the increase/decrease volume button or the mute button, I get the "universal NO sign." (circle-slash over the speaker icon)
And there is a red light in the port where you connect the speaker wire which was never there before!
I have tried iTunes, and internet movies, no sound on anything... I don't want to have to lug my speakers around everywhere! Help!
Anybody know what the "bleep" is going on??

- and for the record I tried a shut down and a repair permissions, my usual "something's wrong actions." And I checked in system prefs>sound to make sure mute wasn't checked.The headphone jack doubles as digital audio out and has a small switch inside that gets flipped if headphones/speakers are attached. The red light is an indication that the switch is stuck in the "on" position.
You can try inserting and removing your headphone/speaker cable a few times and see if that sorts it or you can take a toothpick and poke around inside the jack and try to flip the switch to the "off" position.

If you have a fraud alert or comenity *THINKS* you have a fraud alert, that could be one reason. I've been fighting them for a month just to get a replacement card, they are using a stale report for me as I formerly had an alert on my CRs, but it's been removed since late spring. -
Never seen this one before - Bouncing Video
I just brought in some footage and the entire video is bouncing as if the camera was on a spring. When I open the footage in Quicktime or other players, there is no bounce. The camera was on a secure stand in a studio and other files shot around the same time are fine. Could the update this morning have anything to do with this?

I'm uncertain on some of the details of your issue here, but I'm not familiar with this kind of problem. What is the source of your footage? You state that you "brought in some video footage that was already in the library that comes earlier in movie." But what kind of camera or export source did you use to create the media? This would help to diagnose the issue.
In addition, you note your sequence settings:

This is an odd size for 25fps, as 720x480 is usually associated with NTSC .9 pixel aspect ratio. Nonetheless, you shouldn't be seeing bouncing in the timeline. As I noted in my response below to Ann, playback of H.264-based material can result in some artifacting if the Playback Resolution is set to less than the Full setting. Is your source material using the H.264 codec? It won't play back in QT player if it is from an AVCHD device. If it is a DSLR, perhaps it is from a device we have not tested ourselves.
As to why the issue doesn't occur once the file is rendered: per your stated sequence settings, we render previews in an I-Frame Only MPEG codec, which makes for smoother playback than H.264 (hence my guess above).
Any details would be helpful in trying to provide an answer, but take a look at the Playback settings, and see if Full Resolution does not resolve the issue for you.

Downloaded an audiobook onto my iPod Touch and listened to the first 20 minutes of it. Then it just stopped playing. No matter how I tried to get back to where it left off, it would only begin from the start. I tried putting the same audiobook onto another device and it does the same thing. So, then I tried to listen to the story through iTunes on my desk top---- same thing. How can I fix this?
It sounds like the file you downloaded has been corrupted in some way, although you should check using Get Info > Options tab that it doesn't just have a truncated stop time. Use the report a problem link in your account history and explain the circumstances. Someone from the store should help you get the issue resolved with a fresh download.
