There is a link to the Soundbooth Labs Forum on the main Soundbooth labs page at http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/soundboothcs4/
As for fades, the quick-fade handles that were available in CS3 are still available only at the beginning and end of the clips, however we have implemented volume keyframing which will allow you to fade in and out anywhere in your files.

  • I don't get OSX public beta updates

Hi. I'm participating in OS X Yosemite public beta program. I've installed beta access utility on my Mac but updates don't show in the appstore. What can I do?

You will need to contact Apple as we are not allowed to discuss beta software here (and wouldn't know the procedures Apple has in place).

  • Announcing the Audition for the Mac public beta

We are very pleased to announce that Adobe Audition for the Mac is now available for public beta. (You can see the press release here.) We encourage you to give it a try and provide us with feedback.
Audition will be shipped on both Windows and Mac OS when the time  comes, but given that Mac OS is a new platform for Audition it is  important we gather as much feedback and testing as possible in order to  make this is a great product for all users.
Visit the Adobe Audition Labs page for download information and more details: http://www.adobe.com/go/audition_labs.

Okay, some answers. Yes, this is only a Mac beta. This is simply because no version of Audition for the Mac has ever been released, and it appears to be Mac-based comments they are looking for at present.
The press release is still there - it hasn't been withdrawn because it's effectively out in the wild now - what would be the point of withdrawing it? Anyway, in it is the line " Adobe is providing audio editors and video professionals with more choices for audio production". So it's very clear that how this is achieved is an issue, at least - it has to be to fulfil the intention of that statement. But in the present beta release, integration is not present, as you have discovered. I can't comment any more about that, and I'm not sure that the staffers can either - we are all under a degree of gagging about anything that isn't in the press release, or Jason Levine's video, pretty much.
If you want to find out a bit more than you will on this forum about some of the new audio-related aspects of the release, then read or participate in the AudioMasters thread about it - here. If you read the thread, you will find out why...

I am trying to update to iTunes 10 to us my new iPad, but I can not remove a corrupted? "apple software update" program... I can get everything else off, but due to "previous version" of software update it will not continue.
I stopped in to see one of the genius at the local store who referred me to "Windows Installer 4.5 Redistributable" (I am trying to install it on a Windows XP System)
The last version on iTunes on my PC was iTunes 7.
    Thanks for your help,

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • How do I accept/purchase/download ilife programs after restoring Lion on a new Macbook Air using a new apple ID. App store will not let me do anything but accept; and it won't accept the apps with the new apple id

I wanted to restore my new Macbook Air (over the web).. using a new apple ID instead of the old one I originally used when I bought the computer from the apple store a month ago.  By doing that, everything worked, but the iLife programs that originally came with it shows in the app store as "ACCEPT".  When I try to accept them... it says they are assigned to another ID.. you must repurchase them for this ID.
I have no problem if I have to repurchase.  I just can't find anywhere to do that.  No matter what I do, I can only "ACCEPT".. which as I said earlier - don't work.
    Thanks for any help

Have you tried repairing disk permissions : iTunes download error -45054

  • Is my apple MacBook Pro laptop compatible with the new Creative Suite 6 program??

I own a Apple MacBook Pro laptop i currently have the operating system Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5.
my laptop is 13 inch laptop not a 15 inch.
Here is the following info about my apple computer below:
Processor  2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory  4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics  Intel HD Graphics 4000 384 MB
    Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)
I want to make sure that the new Creative Suite 6 program is compatiable with my apple
computer before i buy it. my mother last year had brought me the creative suite 5 program
for my Dell Desktop computer however, this computer later on crashed and now i am stuck with
the CS5 program my mother brought because, this version of this program she brought is
only for a desktop computer that has a windows operating system not for a apple
computer that has a mac operating system. At the time my mother nor i knew if, i
would be getting a new apple computer plus, i needed the program for school so that i
could work on homework assignments at home. Now i am currently stuck with the
windows version of the CS5 program which i cannot use at all. I tried to install it onto
my apple laptop many times before but, i only ended up getting a error message saying
that the software I had wouldn't install to the computer for some reason unexplained.

  • How do I get my email in Apple's Mail program from old drive to new drive?

I can not determine from Apple's support info how to export my email in Apple's Mail program from the old drive to the new drive.
The old 60 GB drive was at 55GB and had 3 volume structure problems. It would not backup all files using SuperDuper!, but I could backup the user files onto an external 250GB Tintanium Fantom Drive. So I installed a new 120 GB in the iMac and took the old 60GB drive and put it in an external firewire drive housing, which mounts, runs and will even act as the startup drive. I installed 10.3.9 on the new 120GB drive. I was able to export the address book over to the new drive with no problems, but I don't know how to export the email.
There does not appear to be an export function in Apple's Mail program (This sounds kind of ???).
I have a lot of email (#???) in a lot folders and subfolders (60) in addition to the inboxes, plus all the sent mail (2,000)

The Mail.app preference file (which stores all account information and general Mail.app preferences) is located at Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.mail.plist.
All Mail.app mailboxes and other data is stored in the Mail folder at Home > Library > Mail.
With the Mail.app quit on the new hard drive, place a copy of the Mail folder from the old hard drive at Home > Library on the new drive. If there is an existing Mail folder at Home > Library, this will replace it.
Place a copy of the com.apple.mail.plist file from the old hard drive at Home > Library > Preferences on the new hard drive. If there is an existing com.apple.mail.plist file at Home > Library > Preferences on the new hard drive (and there should be one if you have launched the Mail.app on the new hard drive), this will replace it.
Launch Mail on the new hard drive and the Mail.app should be completely restored or identical to the Mail.app on the old hard drive.

  • I'm new to Apple's Mail program (I've used AOL for years). How do I configure Mail so once an email is read it automatically disappears from the list of emails? Conversely, how do I mark "keep as new" an email I've read but I want to remain on the screen?

Right click on the email  in the left hand pane.  Select Mark as Unread to return it to an unread state.  Click Delete to move it to the trash or file it in a folder if you have any configured.  You may need to click the show button on the upper left hand side of the window to see your folders.  The + sign at the bottom of that pane allows you to add a new folder.

  • Oracle Database 2003 Beta Program: new JDBC/SQLJ/JPublisher features

We are currently recruiting for the Oracle Database 2003 Beta Program, including new JDBC/SQLJ/JPublisher features. To learn more about this program, including how to apply, send me an email @ [email protected]

    I suppose that is nice.
It would be even nicer if the drivers actually conformed to JDBC so that one could for example reliably use blobs in a J2EE server with CMP.

  • IOS 9 public beta

Just so those interested are aware the public beta for iOS 9 was deployed yeterday. Users can sign up at beta.apple.com. You need to install a profile on your phone and the update is downloaded OTA Ensure you make a full backup to iTunes before installing the update just in case. This is the same version as those in the developer program, includes Apple Music and the new News app (though this is prone to crashing from reviews available at the moment).

I tried to do it, but for some reason I get stuck in a loop when logging in, it accepts my credentials and returns me back to the same log-in page.
The iTunes back ups are working, from what I understand is people are upgrading then deciding on a full restore at which point the original backup cannot be used as it comes from an earlier version of iOS, the backup created will only work with the iOS version installed on the users phone when competing the backup.
There are ways to revert back to iOS 8.4 at the moment anyway (though not earlier as Apple have stopped signing 8.3).
If you do this and are considering a restore for a fresh phone afterwards it is recommended to run another backup after the installation of 9 so that the backup can be used with 9.

  • I have two AppleID's. Can I set up a new Apple ID just for document syncing in iCloud? How?

I have two AppleID's. Both use known email addresses. I need absolute security for documents. Can I set up a new Apple ID just for document syncing in iCloud? How?

Sorry, I did not mean to imply that security was non-existant or horrible, just it is online, so no absolutes.
iCloud is really not useful, IMO, for collaborating as only you or your AppleID enabled devices can access the files.
I have multiple online storage accounts with the common free services, but my most used is www.box.net.  Many document apps will readily support it, and even if one does not, you can use the box.net app itself to access files, then open them in the app usually.  And you can share your online folders, with reasonable controls on access to keep control of who can see (and upload or download) what.
A lot of people I know use dropbox as well, but they are usually using paid accounts (often their company sets one up for them to use to exchange files with clients) and I don't know how much better is the security on a paid dropbox account versus a free one.  I suspect the free ones are on a par with box.net.
You could also use add security by using some sort of PGP or other encryption tools to encrypt files put up on the shared folder(s).  You'd exchange public keys with your colleagues so they could decrypt those files once they download them.  That may be overkill for many peoples needs though.
Another option, if you have an online hosting account, is to get one that offers SFTP access and use that for sharing files (the downside of that is having to distribute the password to colleagues, so you could loose control of it if one of them is careless or thoughtless with it).  It seems more and more document-type apps for iOS are supporting generic FTP and SFTP as well as the popular free online storage solutions.

  • Apple HDD replacement program Q's

Hi guys, sorry if my questions are quite trivial but I'm afraid of messing something up that will require multiple Apple store trips and or money. Long story short I finally decided I'm going to take my iMac to my nearest Apple store to be serviced under the HDD replacement program announced last year.
But I have a few questions about the whole process and how to make sure everything goes as smooth as possible.
1- I undesrtand I have to have a Time Machine back up or HDD Clone. Some people here actually recommend not to use the latest Time Machine back up, But instead doing so from a HDD Clone. Why?
2- I know I'll be erasing the old Drive before taking the iMac for service, what's the best way to do this?
3- Do I need to take my after market bought RAM before taking the Computer for service?
4- For those of you who have already gotten their machines serviced: do they return it with Mountain Lion already installed on it?
5- After getting the machine what will it be the best option, Use Set Up Assistant or Migration Assistant, and will I get accest to that by booting up while holding
    the "C" key?

    1. My preference is to use a clone. I made a fresh clone; the tech replaced the hard drive; we booted from the clone and cloned the system back - very fast process and your machine will be in the exact same state as it was before.
    2. Boot from your new clone (or your install disk) and use Disk Utility to erase your drive (you can't erase the drive you're booted from).
    3. No.
    4. I had mine done at my home (compliments of Applecare) and instructed the tech to use one of my clones. I've heard differing reports - some say ML was installed, others said that they got it back with the original system. If you have a clone, it does not matter what they install - simply boot from the clone when you get it back, erase the drive, and clone your system back.
    5. If you use the clone method, no Migration Assistant is needed.
Edit: If you have a clone on an external drive, you simply plug in the drive, hold the Option key at boot up and choose the clone to boot from. From there, launch CarbonCopyCloner and clone your system back.
