New Business Process

Hi SAP gurus !!
I need  Help/inputs on the following business Process:
We are into manufacturing & selling of Diesel Locomotive Engines. These Engines & its subcomponents first we assemble at a remote place far from main Plant. once the Engine is ready, we will put this inside the plant & then sell it.
( Plz remember all subcomponents will first come to main plant then to remote place for assembling then again to main plant to use it for business.)
please help me to MAP this business process in SAP. It would be great if you can explain all the activities of SAP that is going to be used ...like.. Production, Material management then Sales process.
if you need any clarification, please feel free to ask.
Warm Regards,
MAYANK

Hi there,
From the SD point of view, this is what I feel
To receive the components from other vendors, you 1st need to create a PO. When vendor fulfills the delivery for the PO, you do the GR into your main plant.
What you can do is that define 2 plants Plant A main plant & Plant B assembling plant. After you do GR into the mail plant A, then create a intra company stock transfer UB from Plant A to plant B. Delivery NL. Material type will be HALB raw materials. When the goods are assembled, they are treated as FERT finished goods. Then Plant B again does stock transfer to Plant A. When you do GR into Plant A, materials will be available in A. Post them into the required storage loc with relevant movement types.
From PLant A, to fulfill customer orders, do it in the normal order - delivery - invoice process.
I feel that this also requires integration MM & PP. I am not sure of the process they follow.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Sivanand

  • New Business Process Requirement

    Hi All,
    I have a new business process requirement from my client.
    My Client has their own product which they do normaly sell them and is called product A. Now they are planning for some new products. For this they purchase some WIP materials called product B & C from vendors and assemble them along wth product A. The assembled product which is called D is sold as finished product. this product D consists of product A and product B&C. Now in this type of scenario what should be the planning strategy? And also please let me know how to incorporate the assembling part in the present SAP system?
    Thanks,
    Rinky

    Rinky,
    What is the problem?  D is just another finished goods.  Is there something unique about this scenario?
    D BOM = A, B, C
    D assembly effort is contained in D routing, the same way you would create a routing for any other FG product.
    D strategy is whatever your client wants.  MTS?  MTO?  Forecasted?  You pick the strategy the same way you would pick any other FG planning strategy.
    A you need change nothing
    B you need change nothing
    C you need change nothing
    Am I missing something here?

  • Down payment process for Poland, new business process or not ?

    Hello,
    I'm a little bit confused about implementation down payment process for Poland.
    The OSS-notes 818079 and 1007635 describe a solution for this.
    How do I have to implement the correct down payment process for Poland ? Do I have to create an extra business process with new sales order type, new billing type, separate calculation procedure, new output type and so on ?
    Or is it possible to use existing business processes in sales and distribution for down payment processes ?
    Thanks in advance
    Holger

    hi,
    Check the process for down payment processing
    The following Customizing settings have to be made for down payment processing:
    Settings for the billing plan - To activate the billing plan function, maintain the materials, for which you wish to process down payments, with item category group 0005 (milestone billing). This gives the item type TAO via item type determination. The item type TAO calls up the billing plan function.
    You need to implement the following activities in the billing plan for down payments:
    Maintain deadline category - This determines the billing rule (percentage or value down payment) for the down payment request. The system assigns billing type FAZ (payment request) defined in the standard system with billing category P. (For the billing type FAZ there is the cancellation billing document type FAS in the standard system).
    Maintain the deadline proposal - Use the down payments that are due for the proposed deadlines.
    Maintaining a Pricing Procedure with the Condition Type AZWR:
    In the standard system the condition type AZWR is delivered for the down payment value already provided but which has not yet been calculated. You must include this condition type in the relevant pricing procedure before output tax.
    Enter condition 2 (item with pricing) and the calculation formula 48 (down payment clearing value must not be bigger than the item value) for the condition type AZWR.
    Before the condition AZWR you can create a subtotal with the base value calculation formula 2 (net value). If the condition AZWR is changed manually, you can get information on the original system proposal from the subtotal.
    Maintain the printing indicator - The pricing procedure can not be marked as a transaction-specific pricing procedure (field Spec.proc.) The condition type AZWR has the calculation type B (fixed amount) and the condition category E (down payment request / clearing).
    Maintaining the Billing Document - In the standard system there is the billing type FAZ (down payment request) and the billing type FAS for canceling . The down payment is controlled using the billing category P of the billing type. A billing type becomes a down payment request when the billing category P is assigned. You have to maintain blocking reason 02 (complete confirmation missing) for the billing documents and assign it to billing type FAZ.
    Copying control - Copying requirement 20 must be entered in copying control at item level for the down payment request. In the standard system the order type TA for copying control is set up according to the billing type FAZ for the item category TAO.
    Copying requirement 23 must be entered in copying control at item level for down payment clearing. In the standard system the order type TA for copying control is set up according to the billing type F2 for the item category TAO.
    Financial Accounting settings - A prerequisite for down payment processing is that the account is assigned to the underlying sales document. To do this, change the field status settings in Customizing as follows:
    Set reconciliation accounts (transaction OBXR) - For the `received down payments' and `down payment requests' from
    the G/L accounts you have selected, you should assign the field status definition G031.
    Maintain accounting configuration (transaction OBXB) - For the down payments (posting key ANZ in the standard system) and the output tax clearing (posting key MVA in the standard system), you must maintain the posting key.
    You must also carry out a G/L account number assignment for the tax account.
    Maintain the posting key (transaction OB41) - For posting key 19, set the sales order as an optional field !!!
    Maintain the field status definition (transaction OB14) - For field status variant 0001, field status group G031, set the
    sales order as an optional field !!!
    Assign the company code to the field status variants (transaction OBC5)

  • Use of Business Process Flow in BPC

    Hello Everybody,
    I am new to SAP BPC. I am able to create a New Business Process Flow in BPC.
    But Can any one tell me what are the actual Uses of Business Process Flow in BPC.
    Thanks a lot in Advance!
    Regards,
    Satish.

    Hi,
    BPF can be compared a little bit with 'guided procedures' in BI: you define a pre-defined process consisting of multiple steps which have to be executed by the user to come to the end result. You can choose to oblige the user to first finish step X before starting step Y. A step can be lots of things like input data, set a certain status, ... BPF are executed in BPC web. Disadvantage is that once you finished a step in a BPF, you cannot set it back (unless everything is initialized ...)
    Alternative could be a custom menu, in which you also make a list of activities, but the user is free to execute any step in any sequence

  • Business Process Monitoring via MAI

    Hi Experts,
    Currently I am exploring the new Business Process Monitoring via MAI (Monitoring and Alerting Infrastructure).
    I have setup monitoring objects and I am getting the required alerts.
    Need your help for following questions:
    1. What is the configuration required to send data to BW? For Classic Business Proces monitoring we select 'Keep Data in BW' under Alert Reorganizations. Is there any such configuration in case of BPMon via MAI ?
    2. In which cube is the alert data saved in case of BPMon via MAI ? (For Classic BPMon it is 0SM_BPM)
    3. Is there any configuration guide available for BPMon via MAI ? I have already referred to the presentations on the same.
    Please help me to get the answers.
    Best Regards,
    Kavita

    Hi Keiji,
    As always, your answers have helped us. Thank you for the quick response. Can you help me with the name of the table where BPMon MAI alerts are stored (just like we have DSWP_BPM_ALERTS for classic BPMon alerts. I have searched this table but could not find the BPMon MAI specific alerts.
    FYI, BPMon MAI is configured and is working fine and I am able to see the MAI alerts for the configured Monitoring Objects.
    Thanks again for the information provided.

  • BUSINESS PROCESS FLOW (BPF) TASK SETUP - CURRENT VIEW OPTIONS

    This article explains a few findings regarding the options on Current View Type for setting up Business Process Flow tasks and will discuss BPC for Excel, Data Manager and BPC Web tasks.
    Future posts will cover more tasks.
    This is valid for 5.x versions only.
      IMPORTANT NOTE:
    DATA MANAGER PACKAGES
        Data Manager Packages tasks such as Run Specific Package, Run User Package are not integrated
        with the Current View Type selection. Therefore, the options Inherit from Data Region, Inherit from
        Current View or Member Lookup does not work on Data Manager Packages. This is due to the diversity of Data Manager Packages, such as Import, Export, Clear, Default Formulas, each of them requiring a complete different set of parameters, some of them not related to the Current View.
    1. INHERIT FROM DATA REGION
      Once you choose to Open a BPF from BPC for Excel, you are prompted to choose the Data
      Region. Upon setting the desired Data Region, the Current View is changed
      accordingly on BPC Web.
        OPEN TEMPLATE / REPORT LIBRARY / SCHEDULE LIBRARY
        If a step is defined as Open Template/Report Library/Schedule Library
        and INHERIT FROM DATA REGION is set to one (or more) of the Data Region
        dimensions, the Current View on BPC for Excel should change to match
        the settings done Data Region settings, being the same as the one on BPC Web.
        SET WORK STATUS
        Same as above.
    2. INHERIT FROM CURRENT VIEW
        OPEN TEMPLATE / REPORT LIBRARY / SCHEDULE LIBRARY
        If a step is defined as Open Template/Report Library/Schedule Library and INHERIT FROM
        CURRENT VIEW is set to one (or more) dimensions, the report will pickup the Current View
        from BPC Web and BPC for Excel should change to match the Current View,
        being the same as the one on BPC Web.
        Example:
        1. Log on to BPC Admin on ApShell -> Manage Application Sets;
        2. Go to Business Process Flows -> Budgeting Process;
        3. Grant access to the BPF to your test user;
        4. Check Sub-Step 1 of Step 1 - Check Budget Data. This steps has a
           INHERIT FROM CURRENT VIEW setup (ENTITY).
        5. Log on to BPC Web on ApShell;
        6. Go to Open a Business Process Flow and choose Budgeting Process;
        7. Choose the desired Data Region;
        8. On BPC Web, verify the value setup for ENTITY on the Current View;
        9. Open the Check Budget Data;
        10. The ENTITY on the Current View will be set up accordingly to what
            was set on BPC Web.
        SET WORK STATUS
        Same as above.
    3. MEMBER LOOKUP
        OPEN TEMPLATE / REPORT LIBRARY / SCHEDULE LIBRARY
        If a step is defined as Open Template/Report Library/Schedule Library and MEMBER LOOKUP
        is set to one (or more) dimensions, the report will set the Current View
        on BPC for Excel to the member that was configured.
        Example:
        1. Log on to BPC Admin on ApShell -> Manage Application Sets;
        2. Go to Business Process Flows -> Budgeting Process;
        3. Grant access to the BPF to your test user;
        4. Check Sub-Step 1 of Step 1 - Check Budget Data. This steps has a
           MEMBER LOOKUP setup (CATEGORY).
        5. Log on to BPC Web on ApShell;
        6. Go to Open a Business Process Flow and choose Budgeting Process;
        7. Choose the desired Data Region;
        8. On BPC Web, verify the value setup for CATEGORY on the Current View;
        9. Open the Check Budget Data;
        10. The CATEGORY on the Current View will be set up accordingly to what
            was set on the Task configuration, in other words, there should be BUDGET set
            on the Current View.
        SET WORK STATUS
        Same as above.

  • Adding A Business Process To SolMan

    Hi,
    I've just upgraded our Solman system to EHP1 SPS22 and I'm now looking at business process monitoring.
    From documentation I've seen you go into DSWP and select your solution and away you go, I've also seen mention of transactions solar01/02. I seem to be missing something here as our defined solutions don't already have business processes defined and I'm being a bit lame as I can't seem to see how you would add a new business process in.
    Does anyone have any experience in doing this and is able to coomunicate process in a step by step guide to get us up and running?
    Thanks.

    Hi Spencer,
    as you probably heard here and ther the SAP Solution Manager supports the whole lifecycle of a business process. Hence there are especially two logical parts
    a) the project and business blueprint part which you access with your mentioned transactions SOLAR01/02
    b) the operations part where you have a similar but nevertheless separate directory the so called Solution Directory that you can access via DSWP > Solution Landscape > Solution Landscape Maintenance or via the "Business Process Operations" Work Center.
    In both directories you can maintain business processes from scratch or use the Business Process Repository or another Project or another Solution as source.
    What you require for using Business Process Monitoring is that business processes are maintained in the Solution Directory. If so far you processes are only maintained in SOLAR01/02 then you can copy them into the Solution Directory.
    You should find corresponding iTutors under http://service.sap.com/rkt-solman
    You can also have a look into http://service.sap.com/bpm > Media Library > Technical Information for different technical papers explaining on how to setup BPMon.

  • SAP standard Business Process Procedures ?

    Hi all,
    Some years ago, standard BPPs (Business Process Procedures) were availabe through the old Q&A DB.
    The document type was ZBPP.
    When I load new business processes into Solution Manager from the BPR, I get standard documentation, IMG links etc.
    Can anybody tell me, if standard BPPs (per transaction code) are still available somewhere??
    Best regards,
    Anni Futtrup

    Anni,
    Not sure exactly what docs were available in old QADB.
    SAP maintains quite a few of their 'business process procedure' docs in various places in
    http://help.sap.com/bestpractices
    If you look, for instance, at Baseline Packages; library of building blocks,
    http://help.sap.com/bp_bblibrary/500/BBlibrary_start.htm
    you can find that many of the building block pages contain one or more SAP BPPs.  Example:
    Look at US building block J03 'Financial Accounting'
    http://help.sap.com/bp_bblibrary/500/html/J03_FI_EN_US.htm
    You will see a list of BPP docs, such as 'Down Payment'
    http://help.sap.com/bp_bblibrary/500/Documentation/J03_AP_DownPaym_BPP_EN_US.doc

  • Is it possible for the end user to make changes to business processes?

    Hi
    I'm investigating Oracle's BPEL Processor Manager and BPM technologies for a large project we are going to do. The client wants to be able to change/create new business processes which would mean different web services being called in different orders after different amounts of time.
    Is it possible to allow end users to change business processes in a SOA environment with a portal using Oracle's offerings. This would eliminate JDeveloper & the designer and the need for knowledge of the underlying architecture.
    The only way around this would be getting users to edit the business rules but that would only work in a linear environment with lots of decisions won't it?
    Regards
    Sean

    I will leave your real question to be answered by product folks.
    BPEL does have capabilities that let you change how a given process will execute. For example, it's normal to have a process that will react differently depending on an incoming message (CancelMessage processes one way, SubscribeMessage does something else, ...). You can have the partnerlink that is invoked be selected based on a variable, a rule, a message element, a property in a property file or a preference set in the BPEL console. However, these all fail to answer your original question, because they require the original designer to code it all, not giving someone the capability to add a new WSDL on the fly with JDeveloper.
    You can also overlay endpoints, like if the user is in California, send to the west-coast server instead of the east coast. There is (was?) a tutorial about overlaying WSDLs.

    Dear Mandar,
    I will put the format of traceability matrix in Wiki as lot of people have requested me for this. Weightages we use for evaluating differences between client's expected std processes and builiding block (SAP ) std processess again depends on the interaction between client and the consulting company. As the more deviation is more standard proces, the more is the cost to develop and further maintain Z-functionalities.
    A method used to validate the compliance of a process or product with the requirements for that process or product.  The requirements are each listed in a row of the matrix and the columns of the matrix are used to identify how and where each requirement has been addressed.
    Basic details of Traceability Matrix:
    Description
    A table that traces the requirements to the system deliverable component for that stage that responds to the requirement.
    Size and Format
    For each requirement, identify the component in the current stage that responds to the requirement.  The requirement may be mapped to such items as a hardware component, an application unit, or a section of a design specification.
    BASELINE TRACEABILITY MATRIX
    Description
    A table that documents the requirements of the system for use in subsequent stages to confirm that all requirements have been met.
    Size and Format
    Document each requirement to be traced.  The requirement may be mapped to such things as a hardware component, an application unit, or a section of a design specification.
    Traceability Matrix Table (Sample)
    Identifier Requirement
    Priority (e.g., (M)andatory, (D)esirable, or (O)ptional) Change Requests
    Module (or Hardware Component, Application Unit, Deliverable Section, e.g., Design Specification) Test Case or Test Scenario
    Change the topics as appropriate for the project and traceability matrix function.
    Add a line for each requirement, for example:
    1 Accounts Payable
    1.1 Maintains multiple bank accounts for payment purposes M CR003 Setup Bank Information S1
