New Install no incoming email

In the process of installing our first Exchange Server 2010. It is up and running. I can send email from OWA but not from any external client. No incoming email is received. I have checked out router, I can telnet to the server and can type the EHLO command
and get the correct information. I am not getting any bounce back message. Any suggestions? What other information do you need from me.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Move to new install only the email and password ?

I had thunderbird installed on the old machine and i have a full backup from drive c: , but now on the new machine i want to transfer only the email and password. how to do that?
    Thanks

I started by writing that I didn't know what you meant by "i want to transfer only the email and password", but that got lost when I went off to another page to look up the profiles article.
People use the word "email" very loosely and it could mean any or all of email address, email account, email server, email message, or email client.
So, in this statement: "i decided to move email and pass", I take it "email" means your account settings?
If you don't need that 15 GB of data why not just delete it from inside Thunderbird? Might be much easier than trying to dissect your profile. ;-)
I'd copy the profile, then delete the Mail and ImapMail folders from the copy, and try with that. I'd hope and expect it to recreate the missing folders. Note that your profile will be hidden by default so you'll need to enable viewing of hidden files and folders.
It's not a big profile that slows Thunderbird so much as having a few very large folders. Splitting a large folder into a few smaller folders can help enormously, and that's the main point and advantage of the Archive folders; old data is moved from current folders into additional folders, spreading the load.

  • Am a new Ipad user. I havde an iphone, so I understand basics. However, I would like to be able to create new emailsand handle incoming emails with the same ease as I do on my desktop. Any ideas?

Unable to set up email on new ipad to use as easily as on my desktop. I can receive emails, and reply to emails, but do not know how to create emails on my ipad?

What threw me off was his original post about not being able to creat an email account. I think I pointed him in the right direction and then he posted again - twice again in fact and I started going whacko trying to track him down again.
He doesn't seem to know how to get back here. His second and third questions were typed at the bottom of the kb article that explains how to set up mail accounts and those questions bring him back to here.
Hooray  - he made it back and replied to your one of your posts - I think!

  • Incoming Email on Windows Server 2012

    Windows Server 2012:
SMTP and the associated management tools are deprecated. Though the functionality is still available in Windows Server 2012, you should begin using System.Net.Smtp. With this API, you will not be able to insert a message into a file for pickup; instead configure
Web applications to connect on port 25 to another server using SMTP.
    Question:
If this is the case, is there a TechNet article that has instructions for installing/using incoming email on a SharePoint 2013 web front end?
    What I know:
Why do we install deprecated features http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263260 (Plan incoming email for a SharePoint farm in SharePoint 2013) to make this work?
    What to do:
I want to use the basic scenario for incoming email, but with the information above about Windows Server it looks rather like idiotic to follow those directions in the TechNet article.
    How to do this:
"... instead configure Web applications to connect on port 25 to another server using SMTP." Huh? Oh stupid me!
    Thoughts???
NOTE: We do use Exchange for incoming email.
    Chris

You will need to continue to use the IIS6 SMTP Virtual Server for SharePoint incoming email. I'm sure by the time the feature is dropped, the SharePoint group will have an alternate solution.

  • Incoming Email Setting - On collaboration of two farm

    Hi All,
I have two farm (say A & B ) where MOSS 2007 is installed and incoming email is configured as well. Now i thought of merging this two farm to my third farm (say C).
Merging can be done using database detach attach method.
Search /Excel Service Application configuration also doesnt give pain.
On coming to incoming mail setting, When i merge A & B farm to farm C. How will be the incoming mail configured document library will behave ?.
Is there any option to update the entire domain address of the incoming mail configured document libraries.
Any help would be much apprecicated

When you merge farms, the document libraries will inherit the domain configured by the Incoming Mail Settings in Central Administration (since you can only have a single domain for an entire farm).

  • My new incoming emails are not shown in 'BOLD' any longer why ?

My new incoming emails are no longer 'BOLD'. This is obviously very frustrating as I don't know which I opened and read and which I didn't. I checked on Internet Explorer and this wasn't the case - that is, the new emails were still 'BOLD'. Hope you or someone can help. Thanks

    Hello,
    Which email provider is this?
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Change Person template applied to new customers created via incoming email

    Hi,
Has anyone ever tried to change what Person template is used when a Customer is created via incoming email?
Up to now we’ve just had one “Customer” Person template and this is applied to new customers created via incoming email and via AD synchronisation.
What I want to happen is for Customers created via AD sync to continue picking up the existing Person template, but I want Customers created via incoming email to pick up a different Person template.  This template has various fields set to different defaults (e.g. it’s Organisation set to “External”, Customer Profile set as “External”).
If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ian

Thanks both for the advice.  I decided to go for the "easier" option of using INBOUNDMAILIA2 (as it's something I have used and modified a lot in the past).
In case anyone is interested, this is the main bit of the code I came up with.  Although not perfect - as it doesn't actually apply a different Person template - it does update the keys fields that allows us  do what we want.
!     /* If Call Template is 'Valuation' and the Customer is external (user has no Domain set) then set various Person attributes:
!     /*  Set custom 'Don't Email' flag to TRUE; 'Customer Profile' (Department) to 'External'; 'Organisation' to 'External' (if currently Unspecified)

           BEGIN
            SELECT @ORG_REF = CLIENT_CO_REF FROM AR_CLIENT_COMPANY WHERE CLIENT_CO_NAME = 'External'
            IF (@ORG_REF IS NOT NULL)

I just started using my iphone 5s. I have a problem with new incoming emails from my POP account. Why are they marked as read automatically even though I have not even opened them yet.
At first I thought it might be because I was using simultaneously my old iPhone 4S so it somehow realized the emails where being pushed to another device and the it marked as read, this has nothing to do since I have deleted the email account from the iPhone 4S

  • Sharepoint Foundation 2010 incomming emails not delivered to library

    Hello
we run a SharePoint 2010 Foundation server and an Exchange 2010 Mail Server. I want to add incoming-email-support to a SharePoint Library.
I have installed and configured SMTP Server on the local SPF, enabled incomming email support on SharePoint via Central Administration, here I have specified the respective drop Email-Folder. Have added a new send-connector on Exchange in order to forward emails
to the SharePoint SMTP (while SMTP and Sharepoint is the same host)
I also have configured the Email-Settings on the library settings, configured a email-address, allowed to recieve email from any sender via Library Settings / Incomming-Email-Settings. Nevertheless the sender is a AD Member of the same Acrive Direcotry whom
I gave contributor permissons to this site and library. It is a document library.
While I send an Email to the resp. library this one is delivered via Exchagne to the SMTP server, put into the drop folder. From there it disapears very soon, obvioulsy it's beeing picke dup be the Timer Service. But the Email never arrives into the document
library in charge. Actually I have no idea where the emails went without leaving a trace once they have been picked by the timer service from the drop folder of the smtp server. Actually I don't know for sure who pickes up the emails, but I can tell that they
disapear after just a few minutes or secons from this folder where they can be found as .eml for the time beeing.
Any suggestions where to search, where to look into some log-files etc. are highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

  • New ISP - not receiving email

I have a relative with an eMac running 10.3.9. She recently switched to a new ISP and is not receiving email in Mail. She has to use web mail to retrieve it. Sent mail goes out ok from Mail, web-surfing works. She revised the account information in the previous email account in Mail, typing in the new email address, password and server info. I believe the problem is that she should create a new email account in Mail and disable the old account (archive and delete). Any ideas to resolve the incoming email issue? I will try my idea tonight and report whether it works or not.

    Hi RarelyDan,
Welcome to the Apple Discussion forums!
You may wish to try the troubleshooting tips found in Apple's Mail Help:
"If you can't receive email, try the following:
    ▪ Send yourself a test email. The mail has to go out through your outgoing mail server and back into your incoming mail server. This is a good basic test of your account and server information.
    ▪ Make sure your computer can perform other Internet tasks, such as opening a webpage. If not, choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Network. Choose Network Status from the Show pop-up menu. A green dot indicates that you are connected to the Internet or a network. If you aren't connected, go to the Finder and choose Help > Mac Help, then search for "Connecting to the Internet."
    ▪ Choose Mail > Preferences and click Accounts. Verify your account name and password. Your account name will usually be either your email address ([email protected]) or the part of your email address to the left of the "@" (tclark3). If your Internet service provider (ISP) lets you access your email via a web browser, you may be able to verify your name and password there. If the same information does not work using a web browser or your ISP doesn't offer a web-based mail option, confirm your user name and password with your ISP or network administrator. Remember to type your email password, not your Mac OS X user account password or ISP password (if different).
    ▪ Find out if you can reach your incoming mail server from your computer. Open Network Utility, located in Applications/Utilities, and click Ping. Ping is a simple network testing tool that shows whether a server computer is running and can be reached from your computer. Type the mail server name (such as mail.mac.com) or IP address in the address field, and click Ping. If you see 10 repeating lines, then the server can be reached. If you see a message such as "ping: unknown host bogus.apple.com," then the server is either down or unreachable.
    ▪ Mail works with the following account types: POP, IMAP, .Mac, and Exchange (only if configured as an IMAP server). You can't log in directly to Hotmail, AOL, or any service that does not support POP or IMAP access, and retrieve email using Mail.
    ▪ If you have an IMAP account, it may be placed "offline" if Mail can't access it. Choose Mailbox > Online Status. If you see the choices Go Online or Take Account Online, connect to the Internet, and then choose Mailbox > Online Status > Go Online.
    ▪ Make sure there is no firewall software blocking email traffic. A firewall works by selectively blocking network traffic. Mac OS X has a built-in firewall, which you turn on and off using the Sharing pane of System Preferences. Open System Preferences and click Sharing, then click Firewall. Make sure your firewall is off.
    ▪ You may be affected by another firewall, either software installed separately from Mac OS X or built into an Internet sharing router, or administered by your ISP or network administrator. Contact the appropriate person to find out whether a firewall may be in place.
    ▪ If you have changed options (such as Use SSL or Authentication) in the Advanced pane of your email account preferences, check with your ISP or system administrator for the correct settings."
post back if still no luck or you have additional questions or comments,

  • Problems with incoming emails

After going through tons of support discussions and trying all that i could i would like to ask your help guys.
As header suggests im having problems with incoming emails on mac mail (4.6)  (outgoing mails are working perfectly)
Yesterday evening i noticed that i cant receive emails (wheel just kept spinning without downloading anything but webmail and my phone mail app show that there are tons of unread emails)
Today around 10AM it worked for second (after messing around with settings (which i did not touched again) but when came back from lunch --- ***** not working again)
I checked that i have correct incoming & outgoing server names, correct passwords and all other settings like SSL (port995) are ok.
Confirmed from my Email Service Provider that their servers, my quota etc are working propperly
Mac mail Connection doctor does not show any red lights so it is ok
Someone said that "unable to load" can be caused by "corrupted" email and i should Rebuild my mailbox to see if if might show what message is f*** up. => did that and it just stays in "Fetching new email" and below reads "preparing to retrieve messages"   and again nothing.
I tried to make new account in Mac mail client and it is not helping ... same thing  Nothing.
I tried to install thunderbird and create new account in there, got it to work for first time i tried but result was the same ... it only downloaded some messages and stopped working.
Previously when i used to launch mac mail app on my laptop it always asked "do you want to connect to this server bla bla bla" => click ok and it downloaded everything but now i dont even get that pop-up message. (i think it disappeared after making account in thunderbird client and clicking "always trust" which did not help as it is still not downloading)
I would really appreciate your help cos im going mad with this problem and i cant get any help from my ESP
    PS. im using POP settings.
    Thank you in advance!
    Jimi

Just remembered that i took printscreen from thunderbirds error when first attempted to set up new account. And now when looking at this it is the same message that i got every time when launching mac mail client. But as said this error went away after clicking "allways trust" (it does show my ESP name and due date is sept.2013")
    And error message was
"Mail cant varify the identity of "autodiscover."mydomain"......".
The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "autodiscover....."

  • Incoming Email Issues

I'm having issues, most likely pertaining to this below.  Incoming emails are not showing up but all internal and outgoing emails are fine.
There is no valid SMTP Transport Layer Security (TLS) certificate for the FQDN of remote.superiormedicalsupply.com. The existing certificate for that FQDN has expired. The continued use of that FQDN will cause mail flow problems. A new certificate that contains
the FQDN of remote.superiormedicalsupply.com should be installed on this server as soon as possible. You can create a new certificate by using the New-ExchangeCertificate task.
I admit I'm not entirely familiar with this process so I may need some hand holding.  i've tried to renew the certificates that are expired and would need to complete pending request, but I'm not sure with what I need to complete this request
with.  Can I do this with a *.abc.com certificate?  Any other advice?

    Hi,
According to your description, I understand that you want to renew an Exchange certificate and need an assist.
If I misunderstand you concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Here’s a link about New Exchange 2013 Certificate, for your reference:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/29174.new-exchange-2013-certificate.aspx
Besides, I want to double confirm whether it’s some error message about incoming message. Is there any NDR return back to sender?
Please post related message, it’s more helpful for further troubleshooting.
