New MenuElement() crashes Photoshop
Hello Friendly Fellow Scripters:
I'm pretty new to the world of CS 2 scripting, and I'm trying to insert a menu item in the Photoshop File Menu.
To get familar with the MenuElement class, I tried this example found in the Bridge Javascript Reference:
var newMenu = new MenuElement( "menu", "MyMenu", "after Help", "myMenu" );
var alertCommand = new MenuElement( "command", "Alert", "at the end of myMenu", "myAlert" );
This script works in Bridge, but conistently crashes Photoshop. Is it really not possible to modify the menu's in Photoshop? I've looked through the installed scripts, and haven't found any where a menu item is added to Photoshop. The docs lead me to believe that what I'm trying to do should be possible:
"ScriptUI objects are available to JavaScript scripts for the following applications:
? Adobe Photoshop CS2
? Adobe Bridge CS2"
I'm using a Mac G4 Powerbook (OS X 10.4.7) and the ExtendScript Tookit to do my testing.
Any help greatly appreciated.

No, I never got any answers and after finding out that the fax won't work on this printer unless I have my answering machine in my office hooked DIRECTLEY to the printer, I took it back anyway. But this Photoshop thing has happened on 2 different printers I have tried... Canon & Brother. It is a common problem out there and I think I will have to suck it up and go back to HP printers because so far these other brands are not cutting it for me.
Let me know if you find an answer for the Photoshop problem as I am out of town for awhile and planning on buying ANOTHER printer when I get home... I have always used HP, but was trying to break away from their ridicuoulous ink prices, but I give up. If Photoshop works with a new HP printer, I'll let you know!

Help with Mavericks crashes Photoshop CC & bugs with Illustrator CC?
Have I missed an update specifically for CC users who have upgraded to Mavericks? Really wishing I had held off on the upgrade to the OS - luckily my CS4 is still compatible with the java update, however had just purchased the CC license, and wanted to use the new apps - now Photoshop CC crashes on launch (havent successfully opened one file in it without having to force quit it) and Illustrator CC bounced for a while then stopped. Randomly five minutes later the app launched. I quit it then re-opened to check for lag again, seemed fine - but then switched between that app and another, then returned to Illustrator CC and took ages for it to open. I am on a 3.4GHz intel core i7 iMac with 16GB memory 1600mhz ddr3, it shouldn't be having any lag problems, and is only a couple months old.
OK I found a file in Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports called a .hang file which is really long:

Edit in Photoshop CS6 Crashes Photoshop
Hey!
Using Lightroom 4.4 on a Macbook Pro with 10.8.2 installed. Every time I chose a photo (or photos) from Lightroom and select any of the "Edit in Photoshop CS6" options, it will open Photoshop, temporarily open the images, and then crash Photoshop completely.
Any suggestions?I am baffled. I have uninstalled all the Adobe products on my computer/reinstalled, set up a new catalog in Lightroom, tried having them both open at the same time prior to selecting edit in Photoshop, but it still happens every time.
I did find out that selecting "Open as Smart Object in Photoshop" does not crash it though, which I thought was strange.
Any input? -
Repousse crashes Photoshop on initial rasterize nvoglv64.DLL
On both the 64 and 32-bit PS versions - the initial rasterization that takes place on text simply crashes photoshop. Everything traces back to an nvidia driver for an Nvida 7600 GT with openGL set to basic. Any setting other than basic causes slow, buggy response - so I haven't tried it any other way...
This is the most recent driver for the card - 260.99 - and they implicitly say that the driver works for CS5 -
os there any hop - or do I need to start looking for a new card?It sounds as though you've done your homework re: your video card and driver.
A new video card may well help. Quite decent ones are not very expensive.
Notably, according to this site your 7600 GT card tests out at 397, which is not bad, but from what I've seen a test score of about 500 or better makes a good video card for Photoshop.

8bit processing works, 16bit processing crashes Photoshop
If I open a .CR2 file (from either a Rebel Xsi or a 5D Mark II or a .nef file from a Nikon D700) in Camera Raw (5.2) from Bridge I can manipulate the file in Camera Raw. However, after I finish Camera Raw adjustment, if I have Camera Raw set to 8 bits per channel I can open the file into Photoshop (CS4). But if I have Camera Raw set for 16 bit output Photoshop crashes when I click the Camera Raw open button.
I can also open, manipulate and print these file in Lightroom, but if I try to export from Lightroom to Photoshop, the export crashes Photoshop. This is new behavior.
Clearly the problem is not specific to the type of raw file I am processing.
I am running Mac OSX 1.4.11 on a G5 Intel tower with 4G of RAM.
Any ideas why 8 bit conversion works and 16 bit doesn't?I have concluded that this was a Photoshop problem, not a Camera Raw problem because Photoshop crashes when I try to use Image->Mode to change a 8 bit file to a 16 bit file. (Also resolved the problem by cloning a backup drive to my boot drive.)

Individual file crashes Photoshop every time it is opened.
Ok, I have a few files that I saved normally and can't find any specific issues with, but every time I open them in Photoshop CS6 it crashes. I've tried the same file on 3 different machines, all running CS6 and it crashes Photoshop on every one of them. It is a large EPS file and it will load about 80% of the way and then crash. Here is my crash report, I really need this file it has a lot of time and work tied up in it. Thanks in advance if if anyone has time to go through this. (There is a lot more to the crash report but the forum won't let me do a post that long. Let me know if there is anything missing that might help.

I tried it, to do it manual. But there is also some problem.totally agree. at this point i could care less if "apple" supports it. i'm not renting my ipod touch, it's mine. i paid for it. and i'm not asking to do anything illegal with it, all i want is to get rid of this POS ios6 and get back to being able to use my ipod touch the way it was before...working.

My new Mac crashed. Have difficulties reinstalling CS6
My new mac crashed. They installed a new hard drive. I'm trying to reinstall my CS6, I have the serial number. But the systems says that the code is invalid. What must I do? Must also say that finding a download page is difficult... I know how to go to my Adobe id and find my products and serial number, but from there I don't find a download page. Plus, because of the crash, I can't deinstall the first version. Thanks for helping!

HDR Efex Pro2 Crashing Photoshop CS6?
I have been using Nik HDR Efex Pro2 with Photoshop CS6 successfully for over a year on my aging MAC Pro and OS 10.6.8. Now all of a sudden HDR Efex Pro 2 crashes Photoshop as soon as I launch it.
Nik suggests my GPU is out of date but how could it be fine one day and out of date the next. To make sure I ran an update on the MAC OS software. (I cannot upgrade beyond 10.6.8 because some of my software won't be compatible.) I also tried their suggested replacing the .cfg code in the Nik HDR preference folder. In addition I did an update on CS6 and uninstalled and reinstalled HDR Efex Pro2.
During the time it went from working to not working I might have allowed the recommended updates such as iTunes, Airport, etc. Flash also wanted to be updated and I have heard of some different types of conflicts with this from others.
Can anyone offer any advice?You should try installing the very latest version of the HDR Efex Pro 2 software. I installed the latest Nik collection and now it is working in CS6 without crashing upon launch. You might want to contact Nik support and describe what has happened, tell them your system specifics and they can determine which version will work on Windows 7 & CS6.
I assume some update I did made it so the older version of HDR Efex Pro 2 was no longer compatible. -
Large files keep crashing Photoshop, any solutions to a problem like this?
I'm working on a Windows 7x64 machine with 16gb of RAM, an i7, and an Nvidia GTX 660m, horsepower should not be an issue.
Every file I open and try to save that is resonably complex crashes Photoshop.
I've seen similar questions posed but none of those discussions resolved this for me. Any input is helpful, Thank you.

So in this case I'm going to guess that you've got an Extensis font manager plugin -- which you need to update or disable. -

When you double click on psd new instance of Photoshop opens but it doesn't open the file
Just updated to new version of Photoshop and when I double click on a psd, a new instance of Photoshop opens but it doesn't open the file.
Any way to fix this?If I use open from Photoshop it opens the file. If I drag and drop into photoshop(and there is nothing open in photoshop) is opens.

New Skype crashes and does not work.
the new skype crashes all the time it does not work. even trying to read the type gives people va headache we should all complain at once get them to fire the idiots that designed it and put it back the way it was. skype does not even connect to internet most of the time. they do not even have the staff to fix it
