New software 10.3.2.440 problem

was just forced to update software on Z10.  lock screen messages don't work.  lock screen icons don't work.  very disappointed with blackberry OS.

Yes, a "Security Wipe" is the suggestion. That's if you have already tried several re-boots, or re-sets - hold the volumn Up and Down buttons at the same time for about 10-30 seconds - or until the white "BlackBerry" name logo come up and then goes away before letting go of the buttons.  This forces the phone to shut down and restart.  If that didn't work, then you can try the wipe A wipe will take a while - like an hour or two (depending on how much you have on it), but it does clear out all previous app loads, settings, everything.  It basically brings your phone to a point where it's like you just got it brand new out of the box.  It will go through the initial setup and all - including the brief gestures tutorial which you will have to go through or it will bug you about if for days afterwards. Before doing something that drastic, run a backup first with Link.  Use the custom option, and click "Configuration".  There you can include the app executables too. You can restore, but I'd suggest at least a selective restore - only your apps but not settings.  And among the apps, don't restore the BlackBerry Runtime.  I usually also don't include the few apps that come with the OS itself, like the compass or the calculator - but I think I get those as options only because those apps were separately updated in BlackBerry World and became selectable. if you were on 10.2.1 before the update, some things don't translate well to 10.3.2, But, honestly, you are one of the few actual problems I've heard since the AT&T roll-out.  There have been complaints here and there - mostly just gripping about the new look. I did hear a lot of problems for those who got the 10.3.1 update OTA over 10.2.1.  I think (and this is just a guess) that AT&T held off releasing 10.3.1 because of that.  But, the California law that requires carriers to provide a "kill switch" (which 10.3.2 does provide) forced AT&Ts hand this time. The security wipe will force you to reset all your setting on the phone, but it's also a good time to go through all the settings to see what's changed.  And a lot has. Don't forget to back up all your media files and documents you may have in the device memory.  If you have an SD card, that will be fine - nothing there sould be touched in the process.  But, if you want to tbe sure, you can just remove it until you're done.
