New-testcasconnectivityuser and test-outlookconnectivity script

I am getting 2 users in AD called extest_xxxxxxxx
How did this get created and can i delete it?
I did see on my exchange server under
D:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Scripts
new-testcasconnectivityuser.ps1 is there.
Is it ok to delete extest_xxxx accounts from AD?

Hi,
From my point of view, the account is used to test connetivity for CAS. If you want to delete the account, then we may need to also disable those corresponding monitors or rules that use this account.
A pre-requisite for the Exchange 2010 Management Pack is that a test mailbox account be setup for synthetic transactions using an existing Exchange 2010 powershell script that comes bundled with the Exchange 2010 installation called: 'New-TestCasConnectivityUser.Ps1'.

  • Create new folder and move items script

    Hello
Im new to applescript and automator.
I've been looking high and low for something and figured I should ask the pros here...
I want the ability to have a "hot folder" that when ever anything is placed in the folder, a new folder is created in the top directory of that hot folder using the modified date as the new folders name and the contents of the hot folder are moved to the correct folder.
My thought was to upload pictures to this folder (on an external drive) and have the script put them in the correct folder that was created by the script. I could use either "modified date" "created date"...
    Is this common? Possible?
Any ideas how I could do this?
    Thanks All!!!

a new folder is created in the top directory of that
hot folder using the modified date as the new folders
    name
Is that the modified date of the files that you
    dragged to the "hot folder"?
If so, that would probably require AppleScript since
Automator can't get that information from the files.
For the rest of it-as a starting point
    New Folder
Rename Finder Items (Add Date and Time)
Save As Plugin- for Folder Action - attach to your
    hot folder.
Note: You don't want to create the new folder in the
hot folder, doing so will likely cause it to loop
    continuously.
Yes I would like to pull the "created date" or "modified date" from the files I drop in the HOT Folder and use that date as the new folders name.
So if I put 10 pictures in that Hot Folder and 5 had the same created date then those 5 would go to one newly created folder et cetera..
And no, the new folder will be either above or along side the Hot folder. Not in it.. good catch!

  • Creating a new OU and the login scripts don't work

    Goodday,
We are running DSfW for almost a year and we never had to make a new OU but that time has come.
When I make a new OU (with iManager or AD tools) the outcome is the same: The login scripts I make for the new OU will not execute within iManager.
If I make a new (test)user of move an existing user (with or without a GW account) the login script is not executed.
If I place a login script directly on the user it works.
I've patched everything and is up-to-date.
What is different on exisiting OU's and new OU's is that it's missing two attributes:
    ACL 2#entry#ou=...#loginScript
    ACL 2#entry#ou=...#printJobConfiguration
Maybe this has nothing to do with it but the first one I was thinking maybe this is the problem.

Can you please give the details of how you are specifying the login script. Is it using a GPO?

Can you check if the container is samified, and samify it if it is not.
    domaincntrl --samify
May not work, but can be tried.

A Basic Guide for Migrating to Intel-Macs
The Knowledgebase article Intel-based Mac: Some migrated applications may need to be updated refers to methods of dealing with migrating from PowerPC chips to Intel with the Migration Assistant safely. The authors of this tip have not had a chance to verify this works in all instances, or that it avoids the 10.6.1 and earlier Guest Account bug that caused account information to get deleted upon use of the Migration/Setup Assistant. However, a well backed up source that includes at least two backups of all the data that are not connected to your machine will help you avoid potential issues, should they arise. In event it does not work, follow the steps below.
If you are migrating a PowerPC system (G3, G4, or G5) to an Intel-Mac be careful what you migrate.  Keep in mind that some items that may get transferred will not work on Intel machines and may end up causing your computer's operating system to malfunction.
Rosetta supports "software that runs on the PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor that are built for Mac OS X". This excludes the items that are not universal binaries or simply will not work in Rosetta:
Classic Environment, and subsequently any Mac OS 9 or earlier applications
Screensavers written for the PowerPC System Preference add-ons
All Unsanity Haxies Browser and other plug-ins
    Contextual Menu Items
Applications which specifically require the PowerPC G5 Kernel extensions
Java applications with JNI (PowerPC) libraries
See also What Can Be Translated by Rosetta.
In addition to the above you could also have problems with migrated cache files and/or cache files containing code that is incompatible.
If you migrate a user folder that contains any of these items, you may find that your Intel-Mac is malfunctioning. It would be wise to take care when migrating your systems from a PowerPC platform to an Intel-Mac platform to assure that you do not migrate these incompatible items.
If you have problems with applications not working, then completely uninstall said application and reinstall it from scratch. Take great care with Java applications and Java-based Peer-to-Peer applications. Many Java apps will not work on Intel-Macs as they are currently compiled. As of this time Limewire, Cabos, and Acquisition are available as universal binaries. Do not install browser plug-ins such as Flash or Shockwave from downloaded installers unless they are universal binaries. The version of OS X installed on your Intel-Mac comes with special compatible versions of Flash and Shockwave plug-ins for use with your browser.
The same problem will exist for any hardware drivers such as mouse software unless the drivers have been compiled as universal binaries. For third-party mice the current choices are USB Overdrive or SteerMouse. Contact the developer or manufacturer of your third-party mouse software to find out when a universal binary version will be available.
Also be careful with some backup utilities and third-party disk repair utilities. Disk Warrior, TechTool Pro , SuperDuper , and Drive Genius  work properly on Intel-Macs with Leopard.  The same caution may apply to the many "maintenance" utilities that have not yet been converted to universal binaries.  Leopard Cache Cleaner, Onyx, TinkerTool System, and Cocktail are now compatible with Leopard.
Before migrating or installing software on your Intel-Mac check MacFixit's Rosetta Compatibility Index.

Transferring data with Setup Assistant - Migration Assistant FAQ
Because Migration Assistant isn't the ideal way to migrate from PowerPC to Intel Macs, using Target Disk Mode, copying the critical contents to CD and DVD, an external hard drive, or networking will work better when moving from PowerPC to Intel Macs.  The initial section below discusses Target Disk Mode.  It is then followed by a section which discusses networking with Macs that lack Firewire.
If both computers support the use of Firewire then you can use the following instructions:
    1. Repair the hard drive and permissions using Disk Utility.
    2. Backup your data.  This is vitally important in case you make a mistake or there's some other problem.
    3. Connect a Firewire cable between your old Mac and your new Intel Mac.
    4. Startup your old Mac in Transferring files between two computers using FireWire.
    5. Startup your new Mac for the first time, go through the setup and registration screens, but do NOT migrate data over. Get to your desktop on the new Mac without migrating any new data over.
If you are not able to use a Firewire connection (for example you have a Late 2008 MacBook that only supports USB:)

  • Best connection between new iMac and firewire MacBook Pro

Hi I'm running a MBP with Firewire, USB (2?) and Ethernet ports. I am soon to take delivery of my shiny new iMac with Thunderbolt, USB 3 and Ethernet ports. What please would be the fastest connection I can establish between the two machines? Thanks, M

Ethernet is your fastest choice - FW800, to be precise.
To transfer from the MBP to the iMac use Target Disk Mode. Boot the MBP into TDM, boot the iMac normally and preferably for the first time. This will put you into the Setup Assistant and let you migrate data from the MBP - Home folder, third-party applications with support files, and system preferences.
If you prefer not to do a migration then you can also simply transfer selected items using drag and drop.

  • ? How to setup as new device for testing and reverting back to old backup

I need to do some testing to see if my backup may be causing poor responsiveness from my home key.
I have already done a full restore but nothing has changed.  I would like to create a new device and install a few apps to see how things go. Then, I want to erase all the settings and install my old backup if there is no change. I want to ensure I will have access to my all my backups as I dont want to lose them. I have tonnes of apps.
How can I accomplish this task?

Plug in to iTunes, select your device, select restore. When it is done, say Set up as New iPod. When you are done, simply repeat the process except select Restore from Backup when it is done.

  • SP 2013 Development - How can I Simulate Different Devices to Help Design and Test a New UI?

    Hello Community!
I am working with SharePoint 2013 and I need to be able to design and test a new design across multiple device browsers.  Does anyone know how to simulate a device browser for design and testing?  BTW, I know about Device Channels, and they give
me a way to dynamically change my UI for different device browsers, but because this UI is complex, I cannot be sure what dynamic changes need to occur until I can simulate the device browsers and view my new UI in them.

  • Who'd like to test a new Drag and Drop Interactive Widget?

It's taken about 6 months of every spare minute we could find but we're finally ready to do a round of Alpha testing for our new Drag and Drop Interactive Widget for Cp4 and 5.  This post is to ask for a handful of volunteers to test the new widget over the next week creating drag and drop interactions in both Cp4 and Cp5.
If you've already tried our well-known Drag and Drop Lite Question Widget, but were a bit frustrated by the limitations that the quiz question format placed on your creativity, we think you'll be blown away by what this new Interactive Widget can do.  It does everything the current question widget does, aside from the aspects that are unique to question types (Review Area, Retake Quiz, etc) plus a whole lot more.  Due to the extra functionality, this widget has twice as much code as our last one.
    Some of the features:
You can have as many widgets as you want on a single slide and each can be addressing a different drag and drop scenario.
You can reference the same drag and target objects from different widgets to create different.
Since they are interactive widgets, you can use the widget success/failure criteria to trigger Advanced Actions.  This opens up a lot of possibilities for game interactions.
You can score each widget differently so that OnSuccess they will each report different scores for dragging the same objects.  This means you can have Conditional Scoring and more than one correct answer for a given problem.
You can set one of the widgets to have its Preferences be used for all widgets on the slide so that you don't need to set all widget preferences individually, thus saving a lot of time.
You can set Preference Priority for each widget to configure which widgets will have "right of way" if there is a potential conflict in preferences.  For example, if one widget wants one type of snapping behaviour on an object but another widget wants the same object to snap differently, the widget with the higher Preference Priority will dominate.
You can nominate other interactive objects (including clickboxes or other widgets) to act as Submit button and Clear button to create a simulated quiz question.
Since this widget is an Interactive widget, it also has the same advanced Pausing override behaviours we built into our Event Handler widget (http://www.infosemantics.com.au/eventhandler)  So you can have users stay on the same slide playing with the drag and drop interaction for as long as they like without progressing to the next slide until they want to.
Plus other stuff I can't think of right now.
If you decide to volunteer to participate in this Alpha testing, please don't use this widget for any production Captivate projects you may have.  The Alpha and Beta versions of the widget will be time-bombed to stop working after a couple of weeks so that we don't have buggy versions running around later.
As I said at the beginning, we only need a handful of testers, we need people using either Cp4 or Cp5, and you need to do this testing over the next week so that we can then address any issues you find and release a debugged Beta version for more testing.
    Anyone wanna play?
If you do want to volunteer, send me a private message on this forum with your email address so I can send you a widget and instructions.  We'll only be taking the first dozen or so people that are willing to contribute time and feedback.
    Cheers,
    Rod Ward

I have many, many to do—which is why I wanted to know if there is a script or automator or contextual menu thing available. Or if not, how can I create one?
Can that be done? Thank you!

Thank you for your help. Now I just want to expand on this a bit. To use the Applescript you have supplied me, how do I tell it to name the folder other than by date, and where to put it?
Let me say, preferably, is it possible to make an action like this right-clickable? Instead of having to pick a script. Anything that slows this process down means I might as well do it all by hand. What I'd really love to do is this:
Select a number of items. Right click to an action saying "create a new folder and put this items in it. Name the folder with the first item's name". Very simple and quick.
Could this be accomplished? Through Automator? or something that can appear in the contextual menu? Folder actions?
I'm just getting started with using these tools.

  • Compensation Workbench Setup and Test Script document....

    Hi,
Does anyone out there has setup and test script document for Compensation Workbench that you are willing to share?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    For single system landscape..
Go 000, DDIC ... STMS--> here it will ask for domain controller -- give self domain --->   Domain controller has been assigned .
Now again  goto STMS> System overview>SAP SYSTEM >Create ->Virtual system- give name V<SID>
till this point your domain controller is created and virtual system is created .Next our aim is to setup STMS
again goto STMS>transport routes> change > configuration>statndard configuration ---> select second option (development and productino System ) because here your dev system will your own system and virtual system would be production  system .
---> pop up will come -> give DEV - SID and Productino SID- it willl  automatically create the route .
    Save this and exit.
This way We can set single system landscape.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Arun Rathour

  • Test scripts and Test cases

    Hi Team,
Kindly can you let em know what is the difference between Test Scripts and Test cases with example if possible.
    Regards,
    Vimal

    Hi Vimal,
A test case  is a set of conditions or variables under which a tester will determine if a requirement or use case upon an application is partially or fully satisfied. It may take many test cases to determine that a requirement is fully satisfied.
Test cases are often incorrectly referred to as test scripts. Test scripts are lines of code used mainly in automation tools.
    Test script
A test script is a short program written in a programming language used to test part of the functionality of a software system. A written set of steps that should be performed automatically can also be called a test script, however this is more correctly called a test case.
Any test that is written as a short program is regarded as an automated test. Test scripts written as a short program can either be written using a special manual functional GUI test tool or in a well-known programming language (such as C++, C#, Tcl, Expect, Java, Perl, Python, or more recently, Ruby). Automated test tools can test many areas of system functionality such as the user interface, performance of the system, the system code and the requirements.
Automated testing has the advantage over manual testing in that it is easily repeatable, and thus is favoured when doing regression testing. This however is not always the case as automated tests may be poorly written and can break during playback. Since most systems are designed with human interaction in mind, it is good practice that a human tests the system at some point.
Test Script defines the actions and pass/fail criteria. For example, if the action is "to enter a valid account number," the expected result is that the data are accepted. Entering an invalid number should yield a particular error message.
    Award Points accordingly.
    Regards,
    Kitchlu
