SO i see theres a new update and then i saw theres a new video thats about an hour and 16 min long but i dont want to sit and watch it all but i skipped pieces and saw new features and what not so i was just wandering can some one give me the clifnotes? and what the update was and whats to come and if theres a date on these new features???? ooooo plus i have another question. i want to download pics from the internet specificly comic book issuie covers and then just add them to a folder on my phone...but when i did the pics were all huge and blured and what not and i the pic on my computer makes the image look tiny! i dont know how to make them fit on my phone.....????

Question on new update

Hello, my problem is with this new update, it tells me i'm going to lose my Norton 360 tool bar which has my Identity safe app on it. That app saves all my passwords on a secure web site so i don't have to type them in to pay my bill ect. Some of the passwords it's been so long i don't remember what they are anymore. I do not want to lose this feature so I am avoiding the update. However I am getting tired of canceling the update when I start firefox every time. How do I stop the updater from trying to update? Run Live Update through Norton. There are updates for Norton Internet Security 2011 and Norton 360. If that does not work for you see the following.

Question About the New Update Due out this Month

Hi I would like to know when Apple, does come out with the New update this month will it be for the New iPhone, do out on June 9th,2008 or for the People who have the Old iPhone, that will then be out dated?

Firmware update 2.0 will be for all existing iPhones, and for all iPod Touch(es), but iPod Touch owners must pay a nominal fee for the update due to accounting reasons.
Firmware update 2.0 will likely be pre-installed on the 2nd generation iPhone. If not, it can be installed as an update the same as for the first generation iPhone.
Updates for the first generation iPhone will not stop after the 2nd generation iPhone is released. Both will be running the same operating system, with the only hardware difference we know for certain included with the 2nd generation iPhone is a 3G chipset making it a 3G phone.
The first generation iPhone will not become outdated when the 2nd generation iPhone is released. There are some people in the U.S. that don't live in an area where at&t has 3G network coverage, and where at&t doesn't have plans to add 3G network coverage this year or the next.
You purchase a new computer this week, and a new and improved version of the same computer model is released within 6 months or a year. This doesn't make the computer you purchased this week outdated. The same applies to the iPhone.

You can't install 9.2.1 or earlier on any Mac that is only Mac OS X bootable. In fact you need to use the restore disks which came with those Macs to install 9.2.2 on those Macs. 8.6 is only possible to install on Macs which came with 8.6 or earlier. The 9.1 disk may be useful for your 1999 PowerMac G4, but won't be of any use for a 2006 Powerbook G4.

I recently updated firefox, but when I look on the PRIVACY window, where 
websites store cookies, I am no longer able to see any cookies that 
are being stored, and I am not able to delete the cookies as soon as I leave 
their site, as I had been doing for a long time prior to updating. 
So I am wondering where the heck are the cookies being stored now, with the 
new update? I like to be able to delete their cookies immediately, and 
I also wonder why firefox does not make it much easier for us to see 
all the cookies and delete them with one click, instead of having to 
use the <<TOOLS<<OPTIONS<<PRIVACY way of looking at and deleting cookies. 
The option to delete the cookies when firefox closes is not as efficient 
and I will get tracked until I close firefox, and I prefer to not be tracked 
so I like to just delete their cookies as soon as I am no longer using their 
site anymore.

Any way to get only new updates for disconnected WSUS?

I have two servers set up. One is online, getting the new updates correctly. The other one is offline where I successfully was able to transfer the approve updates from the online WSUS. My work requires me to get new updates and transfer the new updates
from the online to offline WSUS once in a while. The problem is that I cannot use any external hard drive for data transfer due to security reasons. I can only use DVD of which we only have duel layer (8.5GB max) as our highest.
My question is any way to get the newest updates only and be able to plug them in the WSUScontent folder in the offline WSUS? I rather not have to span 7-8 DVDs for a 61GB folder of all the updates each time. I would love any method or advice that can
be offered. I'm limited on what third-party software I can use as well unfortunately.

You could probably work something out, using ROBOCOPY and it's various comparison operators (such as Archive bit, or date/timestamp).
You'd need to have the "last file set prepared for the offline server" available, to do the comparison. Then, tinker with the comparison operators to determine the set which works for you. This should give you the "delta", and then you could
burn the "delta" files/folders to your media.
Depending on your OS in use, ROBOCOPY might already be built-in for you (so no third-party software needed)

Got a new update

My N8 received a new update today (13.0xx, and about 6.5mb). The install was a breeze, but what exactly did this update do for the phones functionality? The pre-download description simply stated "updates the phone and allows using all the new features". My question is,..WHAT features. Thanks for the clarification.

I also have an old 20GB i-Pod and I too wanted to know what was in the new version, but like you I couldn't find a list of features or bug fixes or whatever.
I was happy with the i-Pod and I believe in the old saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", however, I also heard that the new i-Pods have on-the-go playlists, which is a feature I would really like. So, long story short, I used the new updater, the i-Pod now runs ver1.5 but there is no on-the-go feature. I'm guessing it's not supported for my old Hardware. As a compensation, though, I swear it sounds a bit better than before - dunno if there is a new decoder algorithm in the update. Haven't really answered your question, I just want to warn you that if you want to update for a particular feature, it might not be there. Apple really should publish a feature list for all versions. I work on two screens. With the new updates we cannot automatically open a new window on the second screen, but have to move them over manually. Not a huge problem, but because of the nature of the work, it gets tedious.

Thank you for your question, I understand that it is annoying to have to move a new window to the second screen. Since it opens in the active screen this may have been a stored preference, however it is not the default.

Brand New Update Retriever Repository, No Visible Updates

I've been using TVUR and System Update for over two years and, except for the temporary program cancellation, it's worked very well.
My TVUR workstation died and I've tried to recycle the old repository using another workstation (the files are on a file server). But this hasn't worked out - the lack of machine associations after importing all 800 updates made the old, 16GB repository nearly worthless.
So I started over, with a new repository, running TVUR on the file server (Windows Server 2003 R2 x64). It sets up quickly and retrieves updates, but only 40. That's 7 machine types, 3 Windows OS's (or 17 triplets) results in 40 updates... it seems a little low.
When I try Manage Repository\Update View, I see nothing. No updates. It doesn't matter what I select in the Filters.
The session directory shows tons of update information for each machine/OS/language triplet:

Is it even possible to build a new repository from scratch?
Or automatically gather the metadata for the old updates (which was lost with the dead TVUR workstation)?

"The deal with TVUR is that the "get new updates" bit will be greyed out until valid machine types are populated, otherwise it doesn't know what to look for."

App Store indicates new update but unable to install

I am running OS X 10.9.2. The App Store app insists I have a new update available - Facetime 1.0.4. However, when I click onthe Update button I receive the message - "We could not complete your update. FaceTime can't be installed on "MyDiskName" because the version of OS X is too new." This message is not surprising given that the update note indicates it is recommended for all users of FaceTime on OS X 10.6. My question is - how do I convince the App Store app to no longer treat this as a new available update?

same here... Mac App Store shows an update for FaceTime 1.0.4.
But i can´t remember that i kept that old version on my Mac.
When i switched to Mavericks i did a clean install, but migrated the contents of all User Accounts.
So i searched with Spotlight and also tried to find that old FaceTime version witch the "find" command ... but nothing!
But it has to be there ... somewhere.
What else can i do?

Trawled through lots of misleading help files, mailed friends, tried many back routes into Apple web sites and they all wasted my time. Can anyone help?
I have discovered since then, that this resorce has been down over the weekend, which probably explains why I have had so many contradictory responses, so apologies if you all know what the prolem is.
My question is, my TIME MACHINE (which has not been used yet) was tried but looked nothing like that of the U Tube demo, so I am assuming that it needs setting up, however, it has been saving, I just do not know how to recover the data. Can anyone help?

(If you have a Time Machine backup, go to your User folder/Music/iTunes and select iTunes. Enter Time Machine and go to a backup of iTunes before the above happened. Then select 'Restore' on the bottom right.)
