New version of Software Packager?

Our Company is Oracle Partner and we use Oracle Software Packager for deploying our application to our customers. It's been a while since Oracle released an update for it.
Does Oracle plan to release a new Version of Software Packager which supports products.xml or will Oracle release a new toolset for creating installation sets in the new .xml format?
Maybe the tools you internally use for creating your installation sets? Or does Oracle create everything by hand?
Thanks for your reply,
Regards Daniel

Trust me i have read every document on metalink concerning OSP more then once...
"Any question or problem with this product from non members of Oracle Partners
should be posted in the OTN forums."
If this are not the OTN forums tell me where to find them please.
(Ignoring the fact the we are oracle partners.)
I didn't criticize the support itself, it's the philosophy how oracle tries to let some products die silently, more or less ignoring the fact that they have customers which use them.
This isn't the first time/product we have to deal with that...

  • How to get and install the new MSI Bluetooth Software Package 1.4.3.3.

How to get and install the new MSI Bluetooth Software Package 1.4.3.3.
This little FAQ will only cover the new version of MSI Bluetooth Software Package.
First thing too do is unistall any older version of the MSI Bluetooth Software.
Do this through the Add/Remove program applet in your control panel.
There seams too be only through Live update you could get the new version of MSI Bluetooth Software Package.
If you can't see any enter for MSI Bluetooth Software in the Live driver section of Live update then you have too enter the following too your registry.
Create following code in Notepad and save it as MSILD.reg, then run the file.
    ;-->Code start
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MSI\Drivers\MSI Bluetooth Software]
    "DrvSetup"="1"
    "Version"="1.4.2.10"
    ;-->Code end
Rerun the Live update and hopefully you will now see a entry for MSI Bluetooth Software in Live driver section.
Install the new version of MSI Bluetooth Software and reboot your computer. Even if the setup program doesnt told you too doit.
After rebooting the computer you will see the Bluetooth icon in the taskbar. If it's Red then try too start the Bluetooth services by right click on the try icon and the only alternetiv there is.
If the Bluetooth services is asking for a valid licens.dat then you should do the following.
Surf to Jon's Bluetooth guide http://www.jonsguides.com./bluetooth/prepare.html and download the patcher from the link there.
Unzip the the patcher and then run the BTWPatcher.exe program.
Now the Bluetooth services will start and you will bee able too configure your own settings for the Bluetooth services.
If nothing of this work you could try the complete Bluetooth solution at Jon's gudie and install the IBM version of the same program. I havent test this solution and will not do soo.

I have the MS-6968 device and i want to use driver 1.4.x or 3.0.x. I found the driver 1.4.2.10 but i cannot find any WIDCOMMSecurity code.
So, can anyone give me a link for BTWPatcher.exe???
It cannot be found here (Jon's Bluetooth ) anymore.
    Thanks

The option to update without the computer (Over the air) was made available with iOS 5. If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

My early iPad will not allow for a newer version of software than 5.1.1 is there a way of loading on a newer version?

    Hi,
If you have an original iPad, that is limited to iOS 5.1.1 and cannot go any further. All other iPads and iPad Minis can get up to iOS 7.0.4.
    Hope this helps!

    Vintapps 3.1.3 - paid app.

  • How to get new version of software?

    Hello,
I got an iPod Shuffle for Christmas, which requires the newer version of iTunes to work. I tried to download a newer version of iTunes, but when I tried to install it I received an error message stating that I needed MAC OS 10.5 or higher to run it. I currently have 10.4.11 on my computer. I downloaded the new 10.6 version, but when I tried to install it I received the same message. Is there somewhere that I can download the 10.5 version or is there a way to get around this error? I should also point out that my disk drive doesn't work, so I would like to avoid any sort of resolution that involves purchasing a disk with the new software. Any suggestions? Thank you for your help!

OK, I'm looking at this again, and I see that I downloaded: "MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.5.pkg". Maybe that isn't the actual software?
Correct, only an update for those that have 10.6.0 through 10.6.4 already installed.
Is it true that I still cannot download an updated version of iTunes without updating to the 10.6 Software?
You could download it of course, but you cannot use it in/from 10.4.x
Is there a way to purchase the software and download it online instead of using a CD/DVD?
No, sorry, you need a physical copy.

  • New Version of Software Won't Install

I am trying to download the newest version of Blackberry Desktop Manager (710_b042_multilanguage.exe) for PC and it won't install all the way.   The message keeps saying I have previous versions of the software still installed.  I tried installing all Blackberry apps, re-booting the PC and re-downloading the update from the website but it still comes up with the same message.   Any suggestions to correct so I can download the application?

I finally found a solution to this problem
While performing some searches, I discovered this affected BOTH Blackberry Link AND Blackberry Desktop Software, so there should have been some ... link between the two.
There are many threads around, but each one refers only to one of the two softwares, but the common problems led me to understand that this is unrelated to the software package itself, but to automatic driver installation procedures
carried out by the installer (Windows INstaller)
    Here's what I found:
Affected Environment: the problems shows up on Windows 7 and other Windows version machines, when installing or upgrading Blackberry Desktop Software, or Blackberry Link.
Sometimes, you have Desktop software installed and you want to install Link, OR you have Desktop software installed, it is working fine, but you need to upgrade it (automatically) to apply some software update -
some Desktop SOftware updates are required to update some devices.
    Symptomps
The problems shows in exactly the same way, during the final steps of installation of either Blackberry Desktop 7 OR Blackberry Link.
You get a warning message saying
"Some of the installation files from the previous versions of the software could not be removed. Make sure that no other application is using these files."
    open the
    Users\$_you_user_name\AppData\Local\Temp
directory. You may need to choose hidden files and folders in Windows Explorer to see these
Choose to sort files by creation date, scroll to the most recent files, and look for one of these
BB_Desktop.log, if you're installing Blackberry Desktop Software
    OR
BBLink_Install.log if you're installing Blackberry Link software.
Open your file with a text editor, and look for part of the error message "some of the installation"  using the Find feature
The cursor should stop where the error occoured.
If the line above shows something referring to InstallRimUsbDriver, there are good chances you're exactly in my situation.
If you DON'T find the same error I found, the line above the error message should give you a clue about what's going on, and you may want to share it on this forum, however the solution below may not be applicable to you.
    Solution
Before you begin BACKUP YOUR SYSTEM AND CREATE A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT. The best thing is to have a full hard drive image. While the following steps are quite straightforward, additional problems on your system may be creating a
potentially worse situation. Remember to backup your Blackberry device as well and also contacts/calendars/notes as these can be affected by the first sync after Desktop Software reinstallation.
While I'm listing all the steps I took, some of them may be unnecessary, however the uninstall/reinstall of Desktop Manager or Link software should be performed anyway, IMHO.
Uninstall Blackberry Desktop Software or Blackberry Link (I chose the "erase user data" option as well).
With the device still connected, Uninstall the Blackberry smartphone driver from Control Panel / Device Manager
    Disconnect the device.
Open a command  prompt window, and type
    pnputil.exe -e
you'll get a list of devices/drivers, scroll as needed and take note of the "oemxx.inf" entries regarding Research In Motion devices.
(xx can be a 2 or 3 digits number)
    type
    pnputil.exe -f -d oemxxx.inf
to remove the entries regarding the Research in Motion devices.
Chech that the operation succeded after each action.
    Restart system.
    At this point, yoy may start reinstalling the Blackberry Desktop or Blackberry Link Software;
You may still get the error.
Now perform again the above actions regarding pnputil.exe to see if there are still Research in Motion devices appearing.
    then open the
    Users\$_you_user_name\AppData\Local\Temp
directory. You may need to choose hidden files and folders in Windows Explorer to see these (you should have done this before, see above)
Choose to sort files by creation date, scroll to the most recent files, and look for one of these
rim_usb_install_log (date stamp) - choose the most recent
Open it with a text editor
In my case, I found this(20:52:07): Entering ModifyRimUsbRegKey
    (20:52:07): Exit ModifyRimUsbRegKey, RimUsb.sys  count: 2
    (20:52:07): InstallRimUsbDriver NT
    (20:52:07): DeleteAllRIMInfFiles ENTER
    (20:52:07): SetupUninstallOEMInf inf fileem192.inf ERROR 0xe000023c
Look for the oemxxx.inf (in this example is oem192.inf) file on your hard drive. Delete it.
Run the installer again. This time, I went into another error
    (20:59:48): DisconnectDevices: Enter
    (20:59:48): DisconnectDevices: CreateInstance failed. Error=0x80070002
    (20:59:48): DisconnectDevices: Enter
    (20:59:48): DisconnectDevices: CreateInstance failed. Error=0x80070002
Then rebooted and the install went fine.
Keep in mind that, whenever something goes wrong with these driver related action, you get little information in the main log file, but you get some more in this file.
After performing these action, reconnect the device, it should be recognized; you'll almost certainly need to reconfigure your sync preferences, and start synching again.
Please let me know if this helped.

  • Just got an ipod touch software version 2.2.1 and everytime I download an app get error message requires newer version of software.  Did all updates, and same.

Keep getting error message require newer version of iPod software to install apps on ipod touch v2.2.1.  Is there a version limitation for using apps with the iPod touch?  Loaded the latest updates etc.

I sounds like yu have a first generation (1G) iPod.  You can update that as far as iOS 3.1.3.  To get that update go here. You may have to use a different browser to get the sublink to work correctly.

  • How to disable Backupnow EZ "a new version of software is available" update message on system bootup

Hi.  I just purchased a new Toshiba portable drive and installed the Backupnow EZ software with it.  The software works fine and does just what I want it to do (backup my data).  However, every time I boot up my PC I get a message in the taskbar of "a new version of Backupnow EZ software is available, click here to update).  When I click, it takes me to the manufacturer's website, which requires that I PURCHASE the updated version.  I do not want to do this, as I JUST purchased the drive/software and it works fine for what I need it to do.  How do I disable that annoying update message though?
    Any ideas will be appreciated.

I would dump that NTI program. In my opinion, several other free ones are better. Check these out.

       Todo Backup Free by EaseUS
       Macrium Reflect Free
       AOMEI Backupper

  • Hoping for a new version of software for s60v5 pho...

    Sir,
We are hoping for a new version of s60v5 devices. It seems now nokia only concentrates on Lumia & Belle devices.
And what about s60v5 devices. We are still running on V 51.1.002. Its now an old version & we are using it from last 1.5 years. It seems nokia had forgot that they also had manufactured s60v5 devices a year ago.
We need that please provide a new software version.

Not gonna happen mate. Most Nokia devices received a year to year and a half, and some devices, three years, worth of support and firmware updates. The focus now is on Asha and Lumia devices, and not older devices such as S60 5th Edition and Nokia Belle. Symbian is now in maintenance mode, so it is extremely unlikely that any more updates will be seen for these devices.
If you are taking about S60 v5.0, I tend to agree. However, I wouldn't be suprised if there were some updates for the C5-03 and derivatives (C5-04/05/06) still coming. Nothing major for sure, but perhaps some bug fixes. As for Belle devices; probably there will be some updates for the 808 PV and possibly also for the 603, 700 and 701.
As for Nokia not having any people working for Symbian: that has been technically true for a year now, since Symbian development was outsourced to Accenture along with the staff. As far as I know there are still some people working on Symbian at Accenture, although they concentrate mostly on bug fixes and the like at this point.
