Newbie: Toolbar Button QuickPrint works not in Browser
Hi all,
does anybody know a solution for this:
- wrote a javascript that adds a toolbar button with the following lines:
app.addToolButton({
cName: "atbToolButton1",
// oIcon: oIcon,
cExec: "this.print({bUI: false, bSilent: true, bShrinkToFit: true});",
cTooltext: "Print without Print Settings dialog",
nPos: 0,
cLabel:"QuickPrint"
- the script is in the Javascript directory of the reader with the name config.js
- it works great but only in the reader
- when a pdf is opened in the browser my great script doesn't seem to work
- I know that in the browser this is the activex plug-in
Is it possible to have this toolbar button in the browser plug-in? And is there another place to copy to the script?
Please help.
Thanks for any help in advance.
PS: I use the reader version 9.1
Regards
Andreas
Hi shilpi,
thank you for your quick reply. Yes, it is like you wrote. I thought I have read that you can't drag this javascript toolbars to the "normal" other standard toolbars. But this was a mistake. In the menu there is now under Tools - configure Toolbar a new toolbar "additional programs" available and this can switch the quickprint toolbar. This is great. Thank you very much for your help.
The only problem I have now is that I can switch on my quickprint toolbar but when I close the window and open another pdf in a browser IE seems to have forgotten that he should view the quickprint toolbar. I tried this with FireFox and here is the correct behavior. Firefox remembers that it should switch on the quickprint toolbar. But with Firefox I have another problem. I run Firefox with the Full Fullscreen Add-on. When the pdf is opend in fullscreen there is no way to close the window. So I search for an additional button "close". But there seems to be no function to close the current window where the pdf is viewed. In IE there is the correct behavior that the opend window is not opened in fullscreen mode. Does anybody know a way per javascript toolbar to make a button like "close current window"? Or should I open a new thread for this? Thanks for any help.
Andreas
PS: I now use Adobe Reader 9.3.2 and IE 8 or FF 3.6.3

Problems with getting a custom toolbar button to work...
Hi all,
I'm using the 7.0.1 eval version of GroupWise, patched to 7.0.2 HP 6/6/2007.
The server is the same version.
I'm trying to put a new button on the toolbar in C# (with the
GW.CLIENT.WINDOW.BROWSER context) - the button shows up as expected. It also
gets validate events - quite frequently and my code always returns 0 from
Validate() and the button is always enabled. However, no matter what I do, I
never get an Exectute() call on the command object I create for this button
when I click it. I also tried the GW.CLIENT context, in which case the
button shows up in the same place (main GW client toolbar), and it behaves
the same.
If I try to create the button with the GW.MESSAGE.MAIL context and I
double-click emails, the button shows up on the toolbar of the message
window. When I click this button, I properly get Execute() calls. I also
have no problem getting context menu items working.
Is there anything special I need to do to get callbacks for buttons on the
main toolbar?
Thanks,

Arrow keys up and down no longer working NOT caret browsing.
I'm running the Nightly 64-bit build on Windows 7. Two or three nights ago one of the updates came down the pipes and my arrow keys stopped working correctly. When typing in either a url or search if you try to scroll through it will only hit the top and bottom (and hitting down responds like I've hit the up) I've checked caret browsing and disabled all addons to test and still no luck. In the search area I've noticed it only hits 1/3 of the suggestions. Why is this happening? I've had to resort to typing out the full url and search or using the mouse which is sometimes annoying given I used to just hit one down arrow and press enter no need to move my right hand from the keyboard at all.
Since you are Testing the unstable Nightly channel builds, you may be better off getting help in http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=23 where many Testers hang out as almost everybody here uses Releases and maybe Betas.

Hello,
I am using ADF Faces 11.1.1.2
In my application, all command buttons become disabled when they pressed by default. But command toolbar buttons don't. How can i change the behavior of the af:commandToolbarButton component so it becomes disabled when it is clicked? I mean, i want to prevent it to be clicked second time until the job is finished.
Thanks.Hi,
I believe the problem you are facing is due to the PartialSubmit property of the af:commandButton and af:commandToolbarButton being different by default.
By default:
af:commandButton - PartialSubmit = false
af:commandToolbarButton - PartialSubmit = true
This means that when you click your command buttons the refresh is happening automatically (disabling the button) because it is performing a full submit.
When you click on the toolbar button it is NOT performing a full submit, therefore if you want the component to 'refresh' itself you need to invoke a PPR event.
The solution(s):
1. Create a binding to your commandToolbarButton in a backing bean (let's call it toolbarButtonBinding)
Then you will need to execute this line of code in order to have the button refresh itself.
AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(toolbarButtonBinding);Alternatively, try setting the PartialSubmit property of your commandToolbarButton to false (so it is the same as your commandButton).
Hope that helps,
Matthew. -
Navigation toolbar buttons not working
The back button, forward button, refresh button, and stop button all do not work on the navigation toolbar of my firefox 3.6.9. (I've had this issue with earlier versions as well) I have tried reinstalling, but they still are not highlighted so I can use them. Please help as I do not want to have to go to another browser. Thanks!
Did you try to delete or move places.sqlite ?
Copy and Paste this code in the Code field in the "Tools > Error Console" and click the "Evaluate" button to cleanup and compress the places.sqlite database file.

Firefox did an automatic update to 6.01, and now my middle mouse button is not working in the browser. It doesn't close tabs, it doesn't open new tabs by middle clicking a link, it doesn't allow me to middle click to scroll the page..
[BUG FIXED, see "EDIT 2" at the end of my post]
I'm on Firefox 3.6.21, and I got this problem today after a Greasemonkey update (To version 0.9.10, apparently).
Disabling Greasemonkey solved the problem, and re-enabling it reproduced the problem (middle-clicking links to open in new tab did not work, merely highlighted the link).
I should also note that while Greasemonkey was enabled and the bug was affecting me, Ctrl+Click to open links in new tabs was also broken.
I hope this helps!
EDIT: It appears this is a known incompatibility/conflict bug between current versions of Greasemonkey and Tab Mix Plus. Read more here:
https://github.com/greasemonkey/greasemonkey/issues/1406
EDIT 2: GREASEMONKEY HAS NOW BEEN UPDATED with a workaround to fix the problem. Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/versions/ to install the update manually. It hasn't been reviewed by Mozilla yet, so it won't be an automatic update for another day or two. All credit to "cannonfodder" below for noticing this; please mark his post as helpful! -
Toolbar buttons work in preview, not in generated webhelp
I'm using RH 8.0.2 to generate webhelp.
I took advantage of a few snippets from Peter Grainge's site and have 3 new toolbar buttons for my project:
Here's where I need help.
1. Report an Issue links to a sharepoint site on our network. The link works fine, but displays inside the topic frame. What is the proper Inline JavaScript to open the sharepoint page in a new window? For ease of reply, say the link is http://www.mysite.com/issues/default.aspx
2. Send link by Email sometimes creates a draft email when I click it in the preview pane, but I haven't figured out the reproducible conditions. It doesn't seem to work in the generated files however. A similar issue seems to occur for the Copy Link to Clipboard button - sometimes works in preview, but not in generated webhelp.
Notes:
The Javascript I used for Send Link by Email, from Grainge's snippet 39, is:
window.location=('mailto:[email protected]?Subject=Useful Information&body=This page might be useful to you: ' + window.parent.frames[1].frames[1].document.title +' ' + escape(window.parent.frames[1].frames[1].document.location))
Note, this script throws an error as you preview, 'window.parent.frames.1.frames.1.document is null or not an object.
The Javascript I used for Copy Link to Clipboard, from Grainge's snippet 114, is:
function CopyURL()
var myHerf=parent.frames[1].bsscright.location;
var title=parent.frames[1].bsscright.document.title;
if(window.clipboardData)
var tempCurLink=title + "\n" + myHerf;
var ok=window.clipboardData.setData('Text',tempCurLink);
alert("Press Ctrl + V to Paste the link in your email");
Any help appreciated!Hi there
When you visited the page where you downloaded, I'm guessing you failed to also take a look at the link on the page designed to help with this?
Cheers... Rick

Toolbar buttons do not work and are greyed out not allowing me to log in or log out
I have increasingly been frustrated with firefox not allowing me to log in and or log out of important websites in which i pay my bills online This happens because the toolbar buttons are greyed out. It makes this feature non functional, therefore I have to resort to closing the website page without logging out. Can you tell me how to fix this problem? When i click on the buttons there is no response; its as if they were drawn.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Saveasname not working with adobe toolbar buttons
I am on CF8, using cfdocument to display a cfm page as a pdf. I have saveasname set in the cfdocument tag but that only works when you do a file->save as while viewing the pdf. If you use adobe's toolbar buttons to "save this file to your computer" or to "attach this pdf file to an email message" the saveasname isn't working, it defaults to index.cfm. How do I get the adobe buttons to use saveasname?
- TomI tried adding the cfheader but it
didn't work, probably because I'm using cfdocument
format="pdf" for the page content.
Are you using it correctly? Save the cfdocument content to variable , then use cfheader + cfcontent to display it.

IR toolbar buttons not scrolling
I have a fairly wide interactive report that is getting cut off on the right-hand side in Theme 4. Not unexpected, but the browser isn't giving my any scroll bars, which kind of was a surprise. This means I've got data that can't be seen. In an attempt to counter this, I added a div tag with an overflow style to force the region to scroll. This worked as I expected nicely, but what I didn't expect was for the toolbar buttons, (Go and Actions), not to scroll.
Has anyone run into this?
I've set up a quick app. to help show what I'm seeing.
[http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=58111:2|http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=58111:2]
I don't see this same behavior on apex.oracle.com; is this an issue that was addressed in 4.1? If so, is there a work around? I'm not sure when we'll upgrade to 4.1.1
Our version:
Application Express 4.0.2.00.07
Thanks!

Looks like an IE issue. FF 11 is fine, IE 8 isn't. Although I don't see this issue with 4.1.1 on oracle.com in IE...Post Author: mewdied

This will move where it looks for the images, but not where it looks for the javascript files that do the exporting and printing. Only way to specify where the crystalreportviewer directory is located is in CR XIr2 with fixpack 2.2 or later. In the release notes there is documentation on what you need to setup to do this. -
Twitter is not working on firefox browser at all we need help
twitter is not working on firefox browser at all there is no help i found for this issue anyone find one please tell me
thanksHello boodymostafa,
The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.
'''''Note:''' When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences.'' See the [[Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings]] article for more information.
To Refresh Firefox:
# Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
#*Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], click help [[Image:Help-29]] and select ''Troubleshooting Information''. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
#*If you're unable to access the Help menu, type '''about:support''' in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
#At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
#Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
#Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.
Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!
Thank you,

HELP: "Fitting" toolbar buttons not showing up in CS5
Hi All,
I can't figure out how to get this to work. The toolbar buttons in CS5 are a bit different than those that show up when I am in CS4 and I am not familiar with the changes.
I like the "fit content to frame", "fit content proportionally", etc. as toolbar buttons. I know there are keyboard shortcuts for these, which would be faster to learn... but I just don't work that way... I'm a visual person, I need to see and click on the buttons. But my CS4 buttons are gone in CS5.
How do I get the fitting toolbar buttons back when I have selected an image that I want to modify?
Thanks in advance!NVM... I answered my own question. The toolbar buttons that I was looking at were really there, but I just couldn't see them because too much space on my toolbar was taken up by stuff I don't use frequently. Once I removed the extras that I didn't want, they appeared!

Button hyperlinks work in project preview but not in published .swf
Captivate 6, button hyperlinks work in project preview but not in published .swf, the cursor changes the “the hand” but the hyperlink does not redirect.
Any ideas?
Like I said my buttons work great in preview mode after publishing, one click and the PDF opens in a new browser window. Open the project through the published .swf files and the links will not work.
Using Captivate 6 on WIndows 7Hello,
Welcome to Adobe Forums.
Once your project published, add the .swf file in Flash Global Setting :
1) Right Click on the content (Published .swf file) and click on Global Settings
2) Go to Advanced Tab and Click on Trusted Location Settings (Scrool down to see this button)
3) Click on "Add" button and then "Add file", browse for the Captivate 6 published file and click on OK
4) Launch the .htm file again (Location where Captivate publish your project)
Hope this helps !!
Thanks,
Vikram
