Newly Entered Posting Date - System Message in 2007

Hi,
I also have the same questions as I found in the below thread
What G/L Accounts are Updated Accordingly when the Posting Date is Changed?
What are the G/L accounts updated when you say u2018yesu2019? Is this update is for the new fiscal year G/L accounts?
My Client recently upgraded from 2005A to 2007A and the new posting period starts from 01/08/09 to 31/0710
When the posting date is changed to July 09 (Which is the previous posting period) in A/P or A/R Invoices, the following message appears
Newly Entered Posting Date Relates to Another Posting Period. Do you want to update G/L accounts accordingly? Yes No
Also the message keeps coming every time when posting for previous posting period. How to stop this system message?
Thanks in advance
Mohan

Dear Mohan,
The system message 'Newly entered posting date relates to another
posting period, do you want to update G/L accounts accordingly' does not
prevent the document from being added, it is just an alert message.
The business background of this alert is that it may be possible that
user has the changes done already to the G/L Account Determination in a
new year. Therefore an alert is initiated to avoid any wrong postings to
another period. I.e. this does not mean the system will somehow alter
the G/L accounts after the alert was displayed and the message is for
user information only.
We had investigated the issue and found the following observations
-Posting period for 01/08/2008 created
-Create any transaction in previous posting period. (31/07/2008)
-The system gives this message
-If there is no posting period created for 2008, there will not be any
message
So whenever you enter any transaction in previous posting period other
than the latest the system gives this message.Because system will update
the accounts for that period.
From the functional perspective, this transation can be added, and once
it has been added to the previous fiscal year you need to perform the
year-end closing again. It is a standard system behaviour.
If you press yes the system will update the accounts involved for that
period and the new account balance will be update accordingly.
You can test it in a test environment.
Please refer to note 800291 for more information.
Kind regards,
Apple

  • What G/L Accounts are Updated Accordingly when the Posting Date is Changed?

We are on SAP 2007 PL15, and our new fiscal year started 1 July 2008. Beginning on 1 July, whenever we change the posting date on a marketing document to a date in June, the following message appears:
Newly Entered Posting Date Relates to Another Posting Period. Do you want to update G/L accounts accordingly? [Yes]  [No]
Does anyone know what G/L accounts would be "updated accordingly" based on Posting Date? We did not get any such message last year when we were on SAP 2005.
    Thank you,

  • MB5B stock on posting date

    Hi experts,
For a material XX which was  zero stock on 15/11/2008.Goods receipt(MIGO 101) done on 15/11/2008 of qty 100kg. So stock was 100kg. I have issued material XX of qty 75 kg to cost center and entered posting date 3/11/2008. My system allowing me to issue that material on 3/11/2008 without any warning or error msg. But at that there was no stock. So that if i check the report MB5B stock on posting date my closing stock showing in negative for 3/11/2008. Our requirement is how to stop this back dated posting? System should not allow me if i am posting on back date?
    Thank you

  • SM02 System Messages on Web Clearing Content

We have a custom application that recently moved from ITS to an ICF service with our ECC upgrade.  When we post a system message, the next time a user posts to the web page the system message pops up.  For example, when this his "Save" to commit their data.  This is a good thing.
The problem is when the end user confirms the system message or closes it the web page refreshes and the end user looses all of their data.
Some info about the changes:  We're using the SAP Web Dispatcher with HTTPS (ROUTER) as a pass through load balancer (should not be the problem here) and we moved from HTTP to HTTPS for all access so the content is now stateless (this is a big maybe since the user context is still in memory).
Is anyone away of how to handle ICM generated pop-ups without the application refreshing completely?

    please check
Note 926124 - SM02: System messages are not displayed
i am not sure abt this note but u can also check
Note 1115177 - SM02: No system messages for new users
Hope this will help you ...

    Hi expert,
I would like is there any possible to enter posting date in tcode /dbm/cashdesk?
Any BADI or configure need to be done?
As now my cash document is cancel in posting date 10.05.2020 instead of 10.05.2011, i want to modify posting date in /dbm/cashdesk.

    Dear Michael,
It was a User confusion with Creation Date of Invoice, Billing Date of Invoice and Posting date of Accounting Document.
User had created Invoice on some 01.03.2009 but Kept Billing Date as 26.02.2009. So, while released Accounting Doc. on 10.03.2009 (Releasing date and not Posting Date), It gets Posted on 26.02.2009, only, and not on 10.03.2009.
    The whole confusion was:
When User refers Document Flow (for Invoice in VF02), System shows Invoice Date as 01.03.2009, against Accounting Posting Date 26.02.2009.
    Whereas,
When I showed FBL5N to user, BL Document and AB Document both get posted on 26.02.2009 only.
    Its Clear now.
    Best Regards,
    Amit

  • Exchange rate coefficient on the basis of latest posting date in invoice.

    Hi,
I have one query on posting date(picking of exchange rate coefficient from TCURR table) in invoice verification.  Please help.
    Conditions are--
vender and company code are not in same currencies(ex-USD and INR). exchange currencies are maintained perfectly on every month 1st ie co-efficients in TCURR table ie OB08
    Query---
1.At the time of parking invoice suppose i enter the date 20th august and i have posted that invoice as parking. It is converting the local currency as per 8th month exchange rate.
2.And at the time of final posting the invoice supose i posted that date as 10th September. Business wanted that converting the local currency as per 9th month exchange rate But now local currency is converting on the basis of initial entry of posting date ie 8th month only.
Please advise and guide what configeration that i have to set for picking the exchange rate coefficient on the basis of latest posting date in invoice verification.
    Thanks & Regards,
    MadhuBabu.

    Hi
I dont think it is possible as once you enter posting date while in parking invoice screen, on that date exchange rate will be calculated and it wil not be different at time of posting invoice. Instead of parking, you have to directly post with current posting period.
    Thanks

  • Change posting date on Reverse Entry for Payment

    Scenario:
I entered an outgoing payment cheque run > printed cheques > posting date 31.05.09
Now i want to cancel this cheque run, so i voided the cheques.(under banking > ougoing payments > void checks for payment). I entered today as the posting date. This was incorrect. I should have entered posting date 31.05.09.
Can i now change the posting date to 31.05.09 on the reverse journal entry?

    HI Maeve,
The intention is to transfer the balance to May 31. Then yes.
Had the 2 dates been in the same posting period (which I believe they are not) it could have been done in one posting.
In Document Settings -> Per Document -> Journal Entry -> untick 'Block Posting Date Editing per Row'.
Then by changing the posting date on the row you could have done it all in one JE. No big difference.
    Thanks,
    Jesper

  • Cannot reverse document with future posting date

    Hi,
When I tried to reverse a document with future posting date, system gives error F5362 Posting date must not be smaller than XX.XX.XXXX (x = future posting date).
Is it possible to do this in SAP?

    Hello,
You need to use reversal reason configured accordingly.
Configure the reversal reason for your purpose:
IMG => Financial Accounting => Business Transactions => Adjustment Posting / Reversal / Define Reasons for Reversal
Make SURE that you have ticked Alt.Pos.dt (Alternative Posting Date) check box.
    Save it.
Now use this reversal reason for your posting and give a fugure date.
Make sure that the future posting period is opened but NOT closed.
Please also read F1 on alternative posting date check box:
    Indicator: Alternative posting date allowed
Indicator as to whether you are allowed to specify an alternative posting date for the relevant reversal reason.
    Use
When you use the reversal reason, the system checks that reversal is not carried out using an alternative posting date and therefore possibly in a later posting period or in a later fiscal year.
    Examples
If you want to use negative postings during reversal but only if the reversal is posted in the same period, you can define two reversal reasons:
1st reason: No alternative date allowed, generate negative posting
2nd reason: Alternative date allowed, do not generate negative posting

  • Diff. between contract cash flow starting date&the 1st posting date

gusy , please if some 1 know where can i post the real estate threads don't hesitate 2 send me the link cuz i can't find it yet ...
i would like to ask also about the diffrence between contract cash flow starting date and the 1st posting date of the contract?? isn't it necessary for those 2 dates to be identical ?? because when i receive or realize cash from that contract i've to post it ..

    Hi,
the difference is quite easy to explain.
contract cash flow starting date is the date sap uses when generating the cash flow, this is used if you have contracts in sap that were created before you using sap and where you would want to see the cash flow for information reasons.
The 1st posting date of the contract is actually the date beginning of which sap will be posting the conditions.
Say your cash flow starting date is 01 January 2007 and your 1st posting date is 01. july 2007, yor cashflow will show you what would have been posted, if the contract had been handeled in sap from january through june, starting in july, it shows what is to be and what actually has been posted.
As to your question regarding a sap re-fx forum, please use your search, we are still trying to get enough people interested and there is a thread where you can sign up. Until then, feel free to post your questions in the Financials forum.

  • Error adding Sales order via DI-SERVER Posting Date deviates from the defin

When adding a sales order via the DI-API we have started receiving the following error:
Error: Posting Date deviates from the defined range. To complete the operation, define the posting period to match the entered Posting Date. [(----) 131-204]
I have verified that the posting dates within the document exist within the defined posting periods in SAP and that the posting period in question is unlocked.
I can add the document within the SAP B1 interface without any issues.
This process and code was also working up until the start of the new financial year.  There have been no changes to the code or the financial periods in the new year.
There is a  peculiarity with the financial periods for this company in that they have moved from calendar periods in the past to financial periods.  Has anyone come accross any issues with posting dates and the DI SERVER API?
The dates in the XML document that we are trying to add are shown below.
    <Documents>
    <row>
    <DocDate>20100310</DocDate>
    <DocDueDate>20100310</DocDueDate>
    <CardCode>C9999</CardCode>
The following are the financial period values from OFPR
    Posting Date From/To:       06.03.10     02.04.10
    Due Date From/To:            01.01.10     01.04.11
    Document Date From/To:  01.01.10     02.04.10
    Start of Fiscal Year:         01.01.10
    Regards,
    Sean

    Hi Gordon,
Our customer has moved their financial year end from 1 April / 31 March using calendar months to a 4/4/5 financial period model with a year start date from Jan.
This was necessary after the company was purchased by a US firm that wanted to align the reporting calendars.
Under the 4/4/5 model their financial year start date does not start 1st January. Hence the 3/1/2010 being the first date of the January period.
No matter how the periods are setup the financial year start date in SAP Business One cannot be anything other than the 1st of the month.
All posting within SAP appears to be working fine, it is only via the DI SERVER requests that we seem to be having problems.
However, we suspect that the issue may be unrelated to the posting periods due to some other testing performed.
    Regards,
    Sean

  • Can UD Posting Date be changed?

    Dear All,
While doing UD , we have put the UD Posting date as 01-01-2007, while the actual UD Date is 01.12.2006.
Now the Material needs to be issued to the Production Floor in the month of December. Since the UD Date is 01.01.2007, we are not able to issue the Material in the month of December.
Is there any way to CANCEL the Production Order if UD is done or is there any other alternate to RE-POST the Material in the Month of December, so that Material can be issued.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Kam,
When the process order is confirmed the movement 101 take place for the header level material for which the Process order is created & 261 for the item level material.
Now when the usage decision is done movement type 321 takes place for the header material to move it from quality to un-restricted.
To correct your error what I suggest is first cancel the order which will
reversed the 261 goods movement (consumption of raw materials) for that order but it couldn’t do that 321 reversal (goods receipt reversal)
The reason that made this was that the usage decision was made for the order that is the finished goods are moved from quality to unrestricted, reversal of 321 tries to find the material in quality stock but that has been moved to unrestricted.
Now  cancel the inspection lot & create a new inspection lot ,
do the result recording  & UD once again against the new inspection lot.
I hope this will solve your problem ..... in case u have any further query then let me know ....
Pls reward the points if you find it helpful
    Thanks
    Kaushik

    Hi,
The date format you have mentioned 009 2011 won't be supported by SAP system. Please enter it in correct format. If the format is OK an not working means MM posting periods are not open for this month this error will come.In MMPV give company code and specify the period to close  and save.Again go to same transaction open the period for this month. I hope this will resolve your issue. Thanking you.
