Newsletters integration with email services

In this topic I would like to discuss about integrating custom newsletters into email campaign services. I've never used an email campaign service. I don't even know how they work. Lets say I have designed an html newsletter template and the client wants me to integrate rss feed into it using an email service like mailchimp or icontact.
1. To integrate rss feed into newsletter: does this service generates a code that I have to embed into my newsletter code in a predefined section (eg. Featured article)?
2. If not I would like some steps on how to integrate rss feed to my newsletter using icontact or mailchimp.
3. How to add a custom newsletter to my email campaign service? (Steps)
Ps: please provide answers that don't include ready newsletter templates.  I have my own one.
Than you a lot in advance.

Right, it's just an .html file that has a base design with links to images stored on the client's server that functions as, basically, a letterhead if you will. Background images don't work well in email clients, so I avoid those all together, but the structure/design of the email is already there, yes.
Like I mentioned, I use the client's site as the home for the .html email/newsletter template, I just don't upload it. That way any links to images or pages on the client's site are easy to make and already correct from a directory structure point of view, all I need to do is add in the ht tp://www.domain.com/ part with a quick Find & Replace before I bring everything over to the email service to make them link to the files online.
So, to create an html email, I have 6 steps...
1. Open the template from the client's site and drop info into it
2. Save as the send date to the email folder (on the same directory level as index.html)
3. Ctrl+F (this step is because DW has intermittent issues with displaying absolute image paths, so I use local links during development)
     Set Find: to ../pages
Set Replace With: to ht tp://www.domain.com/pages
     Set Find: to ../images
Set Replace With: to ht tp://www.domain.com/images
4. Copy/paste code into email service admin
5. Test and make fixes if necessary
6. Schedule or send

  • Is BOE 4.0 integrated with Data Services XI 4.0

    Hi,
I have gone through some blogs and documentation on Data Services XI 4.0 and some where it is mentioned that BOE 4.0 is integrated with Data Services XI 4.0. Is it true? If it is true then i want to know how can we integrate BOE 3.1 SP2 with data services XI 4.0 because right now we are using BOE 3.1 SP2, BW 7.01 and want to install Data Services XI 4.0 unless there is no compatibility issue between them.
I need this information immediately because we have to install data services if its compatible with BOE 3.1 SP2 and BW 7.01.

    Hi Aditya,
From the XI 4.0 Data Services Upgrade Manual:
2.1 Major changes in Data Services XI 4.0
Unlike previous releases of Data Services and Data Integrator, SAP BusinessObjects Data Services
XI 4.0 introduces central user management, which relies on SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise. Users
are authenticated against the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise security, and repositories are registered
    in SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise.
You can use either an existing SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0 installation to manage Data
Services users and repositories, or SAP BusinessObjects Information platform services, which is availabe
to all Data Services customers and contains the required SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise services for
    user management.
For information about installing SAP BusinessObjects Information platform services, see the SAP
    BusinessObjects Data Services Installation Guide.
So it sounds like you can't use an exisiting BOE XI 3.1 CMC, but would need to upgrade it to XI 4.0 or use the SAP BusinessObjects Information platform services, which is included with XI 4.0 Data Services.

  • DRM Integration with Shared services

    Hi,
Could someone help me how to integrate DRM with Shared services? Is there any document which helps me with the same?
    Thanks
    Arathi.

    Hi Arathi,
You'll be delighted to hear that I found a solution to your question.
    1. Create a user in DRM and select to manage user in "Active Directory", LDAP or NTLM.
    2. Create the same user in Shared Services (same name u wrote in DRM), give it a password then you're done.
    3. When you log into DRM, it will use the shared services password.
It kinda bothered me that's why i gave it a thought and did a lil bit of reading to find it out. Hope you get it right.

  • SAML authentication Secure store service target ID Project server integration with excel service

I installed and configured share Point 2013 Project server 2013, and Created web application Trusted Identity Provider (SAML 2.0) ,it is working as we expected means
..end user are able to access application(User Login through email and alies(account NAME) )
My problem here CA is working NTLM authentication ,Web application is working SAML
while creating service application(LIKE SSSA Excel Performance ... ( it automatically take NTLM) I CREATED TARGET ID in secure store service application ,I chooser "GROUPS" under SSSA,and
we added members "group to account and email id.
I configure Excel service application and i SSSA Target ID in this excel service application  also added trusted location for PWA site
while opening excel sheet under Project server (An error occurred while accessing application id ProjectServerApplication from Secure
Store Service. The following connections failed to refresh)
I tried target ID choose option " Group Ticket"
Is it CA required for SAML authentication? .. (extend web application
How Service application like SSSA will work for SAML  authentication?

    Hi SridharMandipudi,
as i know, usually when the error appear, you need to check the member.
The domain group that was specified the Secure Store Service ID ProjectServerApplication did not have any members in the group.
and please also have a try in a testing secure store service application:
Created new secure store service application with new target application ID. and added this ID in excel service application -----global settings----Application ID.
went to Central admin---manage web application---selected web application ---click on Service Connection---associated newly created secure store service application.
edited data connection string of excel file.
went to site and tried refresh that excel file and able to refresh the file.

  • Third Party Ticketing Tool integration with solman service desk scenario

    Hi,
I need any guidance on integration Of third Party ticketing tools like OVSD with the SAP Solution Manager Service Desk Scenario.
    Regards,
    Kaustubh.

    Hi Maheshwar,
What I am trying to do is, try to maintain the data like,,
    Caller ID-- sender
    Assignment of workgroup--
    Search Code--
    Priority--
    and description--
now some of these are constants that we need not determine every time.
but my question is, can we maintain these as a set of parameters in the method definitionunder parameters tabjust similar to MAIL_HEADER...which is displayed in the mail alert.
we already have a scenario maintained in the HPSD where it reads the mail picks up specific content based on key words, and creates a ticket.
and If we can maintain these by modifying the method, then where can we maintain the multiple data/options for this
And also please send me what were the steps u have done.
U used a Z method or customized the Function module??
Bcz in my case I think I will have to do both..
    Regards,
    Kaustubh.

  • UCCE 7.2 integration with HP Service Manager

    Hello Experts!!
We have a requirement at one of our customer place. I am giving brief overview of what currently is happening and what customer wants to achieve.
    IPCC Enterprise – 7.2
    CVP – 7.0
    CTI Toolkit Agent Desktop 7.5(4)
    HP service manager(HPSM) 7.X resides on MS-SQL 2005.
Currently agents are using CAD when the call comes in they only see CLI getting displayed on CAD, agent has to copy CLI from CAD to HP Service Manager to get the helpdesk ticket details.
Customer's requirement is to have one single Screen. Either integrate the HP desktop with Cisco CTI or populate the required information on the Cisco agent desktop application screens.
From the Cisco prospective I have doubts.
    1) How this can be achieved? Can we achieve this using Agent toolkit desktop? Which means if we modify the Cisco Agent desktop using tool kit can HPSM information be integrated to CAD and become one single screen?
    2) Can we develop any third party agent desktop(say in VB) and make agent login to this VB desktop and when call comes fetch the information from the DB and populate it on new developed desktop?
Or is there some other way we can achieve this?
    Please help!!
    Thanks,
    Daljeet

    Dear Gokul, Chad, Geoff,
My sincere apologies for not replying earlier to your posts, i was down with fever and was on leave.
    My Replies to the posts.
    My Replies for Gokul Inlines
    1) How does the agent access the HPSM server. Through a web browser? Or is there a client side application that runs on each of the agent deskops?
    --> Its a thick client,
    2) Also, given a CLI, would you know where to pick up data from the HPSM SQL database? As in would you know what query needs to be run for the agent to get the ticket details?
--> Still we need to study the exact requirements which needs to be pushed to CTI OS Client, but i dont see any issues in gathering the information.
    Reply for Chad:
HPSM isnt web based client, so how do you suggest, shall we redesign the CTI OS client? and how this integration will happen? as you mentioned any help for us would be wonderfull in this regard
    Reply for Geoff,
Geoff, my bad, it isnt CAD it is CTI OS Client, which you say service desk allowed you to call from CLI with certain arguments, i am sorry but i dint get your comments and i am not sure how HPSM really works, as this will going to be first CTI OS Development for us.
To be honest here, I am new to development of CTI OS client so my questions may sound candid to you, but i am curious to learn this stuff and to understand where to start from.
    Thanks,
    Daljeet

    Hello,
I think you're missing one setup step in the client-side groupware integration: the customizing.
In SPRO>CRM>CRM Middleware and related comp-->Settings for client-based synchronization.
The reason why your reply button is inactive is probably due to the missing custo setting. In the custo activity mentioned above you must specify which transaction types you'll use for incoming and outgoing e-mails. If eg the outgoing email transaction type is disabled, the buttons on the screen to send an outgoing e-mail (reply) will also be disabled.
P.S. The setup of client-based groupware integration is also described in building block C31 Activity Management (chapter 3.6) of the SAP best practices on help.sap.com. An installation guide is also available on service.sap.com.
    Hope this helps,
    Kind regards,
    Joost

  • Do custom objects work with email integration?

I would like to consider using a custom object for a division of our organization to separately log support tickets (we've run out of available fields in the service request object). Is there any way to use the email integration with custom objects?
    Thanks
    Diana

According to the Help, only the following records are supported: Account, Contact, Lead, Opportunity, or Service records. The custom record types that we have created do not show up in the Email integration either.

  • Service desk integration with 3rd party tool

    Hi all,
I've problems understanding the setup of connecting a 3rd party service desk tool with solman itsm.
So far it's clear that I need to activate and configure the service provider and consumer in soamanager.
The webservice then will be called by the 3rd party tool with corresponding data.
However, according to spro I need to define a value mapping for incoming/outgoing calls.
I do not understand this mapping... the WSDL of webservice ICT_SERVICE_DESK_API contains lots of fields, but in spro -> value mapping I can only define the following fields (which are hard coded in type pool AIICT):
    SAPCategory
    SAPComponent
    SAPDatabase
    SAPFrontend
    SAPIncidentID
    SAPIncidentStatus
    SAPInstNo
    SAPOperatingSystem
    SAPSoftwareComponent
    SAPSoftwareComponentPatch
    SAPSoftwareComponentRelease
    SAPSubject
    SAPSystemClient
    SAPSystemID
    SAPSystemType
    SAPUserStatus
    What about attachments, priority etc.?
Will the interface parameters mapped to these ones?
For what purpose do I need to maintain the value mapping?
Can you give me a hint?
