NFC after update to 10.2.1.537
I have done the update to 10.2.1.537 on the day it came out in Canada, and I noticed that if the phone is lock the NFC is not working even with the setting for the NFC is set to work "When locked or backlight is off" and "When device is turn off", and both of the Prompt are unchecked.
I use my Z10 to in place of access card, before the update all I had to do was just to get the phone from the holster on my waist and tap the reader and it worked, but now unless I unlock the phone it is not working.
I am not on a BEWS

Would it be becuase the phone lock turn off the feature? Maybe the phone lock also stops some apps from running in the background?
If you check in the NFC settings there is these two :
When locked or backlight is off
When device is turn off
If check they are working wheteher the phone is lock or not, at least that is the way it was working before the last update, for the lock one, since i never turn the phone OFF, I have no idea if the NFC was working or not when the device was OFF

my Q10 now got very slow after the update to 10.2.1.537
It takes ages for switching from e.g. text to E-Mail Inboxes, from Hub to oriority Hub view or just to opening an email or an app. Also, it s draining the batterry very fast. Down to 20% after only 3 hrs , and than it is switching off. Even in Aircraft mode the battery is down after 5 hrs without me even touching the device.
Any clue what went wrong?I am also experiencing all kinds of problems since the 10.2.1.537 upgrade. I now have to reboot my Q10 constantly as it will just freeze intermittently! After making a call I sometimes have to wait 5 minutes+ untill I can make another call. My battery also drains very fast - I have to charge it everyday.

Z10 Location services kaput after update 10.2.1.537
I updated my phone to 10.2.1.537 recently and noticed after that my location services do not work at all anymore. My location services says that it is on under settings but it will not locate me when i open an app. I usually use gasbuddy app and native blackberry maps and when i open the app it shows me where i was last before the update and says that location services are off when they are definitely on since i manually switched it on in the settings. I have tried turning location services off and on many times, restarted my phone hard and soft restart and have done a system restore (due to the picture password malfunction after update the picture password would not let me into my phone after crashing 2 days afer update) much to my dismay since i have downloaded and deleted a bunch of apps since my last backup. I am wondering if this a common problem or is blackberry planning on fixing this or if there are any patches or some tricks of any kind that i can use to make my location services to work again. Definitely not happy with the new OS, thats not to say that they didnt put alot of new exciting features into the new OS but for me this has been awful as i have been without a phone essentially since the update. Location Services are part of some apps. They may be using the GPS feature as well as the Network to give you a more precise lock on your location. You said you are using gasbuddy app but location won`t work. Are you having this problem with the Blacberry Map? What other apps you have that are using Location Services? -

After updated my Q10 to release 10.2.1.537 the battery always shown 0%, now cannot send out e-mail or dial out call!!! Help pls!!
So, this only started after the update?
If so, it's likely just a battery meter calibration issue. Remove the battery for about 90 minutes and then replace.

Mac mini 2010 very slow after update to Mavericks
My mac mini 2010 (2.4 Ghz, 8GB ram) is running really very slow after updating to Mavericks.
Clearly OneDrive is a pain... but had it running on ML as well, and though it is a memory and CPU hog, it never really slowed down the system.

When you run out of real RAM you start writing to free hard disk space. This is paging in/out. This is much slower than using real RAM
Add more RAM Basics
Open System Profiler > Hardware
Copy the Serial number and model identifier
Under Memory in System Profiler, you'll see how many slots and what is installed. You need matching pairs. Most likely you will have to replace RAM you have installed unless you have 4 slots and are only using 2 slots.
Go to this page: http://support.apple.com/specs/
Copy the Serial number in the "Search Tech Specs" search box. This will take you to the info on your computer.
Next using the Identifier and with the knowledge of your exact model and how much RAM you can install, go to this site: (There are several sources for memory. This one has good prices and has the video showing how to install)

Adobe Photoshop CS2 Error messages after update to mac os 10.4.6
After updated to mac os 10.4.6 everytime I use Photoshop CS2 I receive an error message "Could not complete your request because of a program error"
I did all the workarounds that were described in document 331627 from Adobe's website and nothing worked.
I also subscribe to maxosx.com support and someone suggested removing the legal.localized/Tien...file from the photoshop cs2/legal directory, but everytime I tried to select the directory "legal" from within the finder view, it disappeared and closed the finder window.
HELP!Did you upgrade from a previous version of OS X like 10.3.x or 10.2.x or from a prior version of 10.4.x? If the former, there are probably some files in your previous system folder that need to be restored.
Otherwise, double click Photoshop when it's closed, and then IMMEDIATELY hold Command + Option + Shift. You'll get a box for resetting the settings. Select Yes and maybe that will help.

I was updating Firefox to the newest version 7.0.1 from version 6.0.2 I think it was, I clicked the restart Firefox button that always comes up after updating. It started updating and then Firefox never restarted like it was supposed to after it was done updating. I then tried to open Firefox and it told me "This application has failed to start because xul.dll was not found." I did have Firefox crash on maybe about 30 minutes or so earlier which bothered me because I have been using Firefox for years and never had it crash on me before but I didn't think much of it at the time it happened because I was able to go back onto Firefox and finish what I had been working on. A while later I checked for updates and updated. The first time I tried to update it didn't work though so I had to shutdown Firefox and reopen Firefox and start the update a second time. It was after the second time that when I tried to open Firefox I got that message about failing to start because xul.dll can't be found. I filed a crash report when my Firefox crashed. This would have been around 1am-2am in the morning that Firefox first crashed and then wouldn't allow me to open it after updating. I have a DELL laptop running the Windows XP operating system but the laptop is probably at least 6 or 7 years old. The laptop will no longer charge so I always have to have it plugged into an outlet. Both my laptop hard drive and my external hard drive give me messages that I am running out of disk space on my hard drive. I bought this laptop 6 or 7 years ago second hand so it could be even older. In short it's a piece of crap and it gives me all kinds of issues but I currently can't afford a new one, but I have never had any problems with Firefox and I use Firefox more than any other aspect of my laptop so it's really really bothering me. May you please help me fix it?
Unfortunately I tried that and it didn't work. Thanks for the help though. I tried to uninstall and it said I couldn't because the file is corrupt or something, but I think I finally got it uninstalled and/or deleted or whatever, but now I try to reinstall/download it again from the beginning and I can't. No matter what I do I can not get Firefox working again. No matter how many times I try to redownload it. Any other suggestions?

Ipod Touch 5 will no longer sync after update 7.1.2
After updating from iOS 7.1.1 to 7.1.2 my Ipod touch 5th gen no longer syncs with my iTunes 11.3.1.1 when connecting it to my computer (windows 8.1) what comes up on my touch's screen is "trust this computer?" I press the "trust" button then a few seconds later I get the disconnected tone from my computer and nothing else happens (it still charges) and just checked it out on my Windows 7 computer (iTunes 11.3.1.2)and it recognized it fine (but the other computer has my playlists) I've tried updating to iTunes 11.3.1.2, updating iPod drivers and uninstalling then re-installing iPod drivers and iTunes is still not connecting to my iPod. Help please.
On your computer go to the control panel (hover in the lower right corner) then programs, add/remove programs
Uninstall iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Service, Apple Application Support then go to apple.com and redownload and reinstall iTunes and try again.
You won't lose any content, you're not deleting that, just the programs that access them.
What is thought to happen is that sometimes a new version of itunes doesn't update the drivers in those other two programs. The only way to update the drivers is to force it by uninstalling the programs which allows itunes to write the correct ones.
My iPad and iPod did exactly the same thing and this is how I fixed it. -
I just updated to Firefox 4.0. I made NO changes to existing settings. After updating, font size of BROWSER headings, tabs, etc. appear so small that I am barely able to read them. (Note that I am NOT talking about font size on web pages--just on browser itself. ) Have used firefox for years--don't want to give it up--but will have to if can't find a solution for this.
I don't know where it is going to look. As I did all the Orthoptera, haing to go to the source of every page, andchanging the links to the moths to the Orthoptera, I had to do the same with other Oders. Now I am on the Diptera, and went to the previously created Orthoptera gallery and changed the text and link from Orthoptera to Diptera. But it still shows text and link, moth, instead. So I continue to have to go to each pages source coded and change individually.
Here is what I don't understand. When I go to the folder that is at C://program files/adobe/adobe photoshop cs4 (64 bit)/presets/web photo gallery, the renamed, copied and modified folder, Diptera is there, and come up in the choices of templates. But the text and link modifications don't occur when the gallery is run. Where could it be going to get the moth stuff, when it goes to this folder for the template?
What you said about the 64 bit makes sense, but I don't know where it could be going to create the gallery when the folder named Diptera is ther. -
HELP! iPod no longer works after update
I've been using my 20gb clickwheel ipod without incident for a year now, my last update had been iTunes 5 and hadn't updated my iPod recently either (why bother..it worked fine?).
I wanted to purchase music from the iTunes music store, but it wouldn't let me unless I upgraded to iTunes 6 and updated my iPod. OK - so I did that- upgraded iTunes to 6.0.1 and updated tghe iPod using the latest updated dated 2005-10-12. Then the horror begins.
On the first attempted synch post update - my iPod screen turned into a folder/exclamation point icon and stopped working. I tried resetting by holding down the center button and menu..it restarted and went back to the same folder/exclamation point icon. No luck.
I've tried restoring it repeatedly and then synching my library back to the now clean and restored iPod and it stops synching at different points and crashes (after 31 songs - crash iTunes - iPod freezes on the "Do not disconnect" screen - strange clicking noise - restore - try again - 58 songs...same... restore ..again...45 songs.. you get the picture).
It worked fine BEFORE the update except I couldn't purchase music. There has been NO change except installing the updates (it hasn't been jostled, dropped or anything). What can I do? The update killed my iPod?!!!! I am at my wits end!!!!!!
-ToryOK..I've tried many things and my iPod is still hosed after updating. I upgraded my Mac to Tiger. I was told that the there might be some issues with synching using firewire with the new update - so I bought a USB cable and tried synching with that.
I have the same issue as before. I can restore the iPod, but when I start synching my music from Itunes back to the blank, restored iPod - it synches up anywhere from 20-200 songs and then freezes (spinning beach ball on one song halfway synched for an hour - then force quit iTunes - and start all over again: restore, synch, crash).
You know, I got burned by the 1st generation 5gb iPod battery issue, then the headphone jack stopped working on my 2nd generation, now my monochrome clickwheel iPod freaks out after Apple forces me to update so I can get my paid music back (it removed, yes, REMOVED my purchased songs because I was still using an older version of iTunes - when I updated to 6 I got them back - how Microsoft is THAT?).
I am really losing my faith in Apple's ability to make a quality product.I am despondent. If anyone has any advice - I would be most grateful... -

I have exactly the same issue as everyone above. I only get sound through the slider on the ringtone in settings and through my headphones. I do not get any sound anywhere else at all.
I Have tried:
- Updating to iOS 6.1.3
-re starting the device
-checking that the device is not muted. My slider switch is set to mute rather than lock and is unmuted.
-going into general settings and reset all settings
-the device reset several times (waiting until I saw the all important apple logo)
-removing the last few apps I installed.
Nothing at all has worked, please help!
