NI PCIe 6535 DIO help needed !!

Dear All,
I have NI PCIe 6535 DIO card and I need to write a Labview code which will simultaneously acquire data from 24 channel's with 30 KHz refresh rate for a capture duration of 4 seconds and then Move data and corresponding time stamps to PC RAM.
Somebody please help me on how to achieve the above mentioned.

Hi,
Can anyone help me with DIO Read operation using PCI-6254 (DAQmx)??
here'e the breakdown of the issue i'm having:
i'm doing a DIO Read using DAQmx drivers, and am using "one channel for each line" on the Port 0.
i'm using another line for DIO Write at the same time...infact the DIO write sends the bit pattern
and inturn triggers an external device, and am trying to capture the response of ext. device on
other line thro' DIO READ...
now, i do see the bit pattern on the Oscope, but am not reading the bit pattern using DAQmx Read?
(i'm reading all ZEROS)
Currently, i'm not using DAQmx Trigger? i tried using it, but was getting an error...
i guess i need to trigger the read when the line goes high/low (for ex)
can anyone help me with this?

Hi rkphat,
DIO operations on an M Series device cannot be configured for triggers. The source of the DIO sample clock must be set up for the trigger and the DIO operation should just be configured to receive that clock. You must provide an external clock or a clock generated by another subsystem, such as an analog input sample clock or a counter pulse train output, to clock digital operations. For example, if you were going to use the analog input sample clock to clock your digital measurements, you would configure your AI subsystem to receive a start trigger and to use an internal clock. Once the trigger arrives, the AI Sample clock is generated and passed to the DIO subsystem. Or if you wanted to use a counter to generate the clock, you would set the counter up for pulse train generation with a digital start trigger.
If you post your code we can find out why the Digital Read is not returning the correct data.

PCIe-6535 RLP support

Greetings!
I have an old legacy application (windows) using RLP on the NI 6533 (DIO-PCI-32HS). I am now told that this card will become obsolete and was recommeded to move to the PCIe-6535. I am trying to understand how compatible this card would be for our application, however I cannot find supporting documentation for this card in the MHDDK.
Can you tell me if/how similar are the registers between the cards, if there is available RLP documentation, if RLP is even support/recommended for this card, or what would be the preferred method for controlling the 6535? Our application only uses programmed i/o (read and write) but when we tried using visa before, it was much too slow.

AMD CPU's do not need to support PCIe Gen3.
It's the chipset that has to do it, not the CPU.
Don't know who talked to you, but you got false information.
AMD is not Intel where PCIe is (partly) build into the CPU.
I'm sorry, but your board will never support PCIe Gen3.
However this is not an issue, as PCIe Gen1 can't even be filled to the max, certainly Gen2 not even close, and Gen3 won't be needed for the next 10 years at least.
In short, who cares about PCIe Gen3 for the upcomming 10 years, I don't. (unless something very special happens, but in that case it won't be the same motherboard/CPU/memory for sure)

Acquire single point 12 bit data @ 200Khz using PXIe 6535 DIO RT

I want to acquire single point 12 bit data @ 200Khz using PXIe 6535 DIO, PXIe 1072 chasis and 8820 controller in RT. Problem is I am unable to acquire data as triggered input. Loop execution time takes ~10us (measured using rt tick count). Thus It misses the samples. Am I missing something? What are the proper ways to acquire digital data in RT?
Also I am wondering whether I can use the SMB connector of 8820 controller as my acquision trigger input pulse. I am completely new to RT. Any help will be appriciated.

To make sure that the data gets written in the correctly order I would recommend monitoring the Time Out of the write. If a time out occurs you could stop writing all FIFOs and then start when all the Time Outs are no longer there. Another option is to look at your host side and determine if you can read larger chunks of data at a time and allow the host side to deal with processing the data. An additional option would be to look into high throughput streaming for FlexRIO. In this setup you will be writing the data directly to disk on your host side and then you could process the data at a later time. I have linked an example below, this example was giving me trouble so please let me know if you have trouble loading this example. Depending on your situation these may not all be acceptable options but you will need to ensure that you are not filling any of your FIFOs. Lastly, from what I can tell you are using a Windows OS as your host and in that situation you have no way of controlling when your LabVIEW application gets processor time. If you were to switch to a Real Time controller you would be able to ensure when certain tasks are run and add priority to tasks. Please let me know if you have further questions.

NI PCI 6533 DIO to NI PCIe 6536 compatiablity

Hi All,
I have NI PCI 6533 DIO PCI card which is very old and now NI is not manufacturing the same card , so it is replaced by NI PCIe 6536 DIO . I am using the PCIe to PCI adaptor as I dont have the PCIe slot.
Now my questions are :-
1) does the same DLL can be used to NI PCIe 6536 DIO ?
2) I am using the LabView 5.1 for NI PCI 6533 DIO is that same can be compatiable for NI PCIe 6536 DIO .
can any one please help me in above questions

No and no. The 6536 requires the DAQmx driver and DAQmx is not compatible with version 5.1. So, you finally have a good reason to upgrade LabVIEW.

NI PCI 6515 DIO and NI PCI 4065 DMM cards configuration

I am using NI PCI 6515 DIO card and NI PCI 4065 digital multimeter.I haven't any card yet and it will take some days to have them. I have installed these cards drivers. Is there any way that i can configure them in my software. I have added them virtually in MAX. Please suggest me possible ways i am using labview 8.5

I have used the above pack with an X-FI Xtreme Music OEM from Dell, an X-FI Fatality Pro PCI, and the Titanium. It works great. Afterwards you can update to the latest drivers without problems. If you start, as you already have, with the newest driver, things just dont work quite right in my opinion.

i recently bought?this sound card
i encounter 2 problems which i desperately need help with cause creative isnt giving me a satisfied answer
Firstly,?i cant update to the latest driver.
if i update...everytime i try to press any of the buttons(Game mode, x-fi?CMSS 3D, x-fi crystalizer) on the I/O front panel console.
i seem to lose control of I/O front panel console. i cant control the Main volume,Mic volume or any of my 3 modes using my I/O front panel console,?i can only change them through creative console launcher
secondly,
everytime i try change my recording device to "microphone FP". it keeps jumping back to "microphone" which apparently is the port on the sound card itself.
its kinda stupid to use the mic port on the sound card rather than the I/O front panel port being i paid such a high price for it mainly because of its specs but partially cause it has a I/O front panel.
someone please help me with this problem cause creative technical support hasnt been able to solve my problem
so im trying my luck to see if anyone is out there suffering the same problem as me?would?gladly?share his solution with me?to this problem =)

In short, I love it. I was going to buy the 5DMark III. After playing with it for a while at my local Fry's store where they put 5DMII, 5DMIII and 6D next to each other, using the same 24-105L lens, I decided to get the 6D and pocket the different for lens later.
I'm upgrading from the 30D. So I think you'll love it. It's a great camera. I have used 5DMII extensively before (borrowing from a close friend).
Funny thing is at first I don't really care about the GPS and Wifi much. I thought they're just marketing-gimmick. But once you have it, it is actually really fun and helpful. For example, I can place the 6D on a long "monopod", then use the app on the phone to control the camera to get some unique perspective on some scenes. It's fun and great. GPS is also nice for travel guy like me.

Help needed! Raid degraded again!

Hi!
Help needed! I hava made bootable RAID with two S-ATAII 250Gb HDD and its not working! Every now and then at bootup I get a message RAID -> DEGRADED... Must be seventh time! Rebuild takes its own time!
What am I doing wrong!
T: Ekku
K8N Neo4 Ultra
AMD 64 4200+
2 Gb RAM
2 x 250 Gb HDD (Maxtor)
nVidia RAID (in mb)
P.S. I wery SORRY with my poor language!

I'm going to blame the nVRAID because I've seen issues with it in the past. If your motherboard has another non-nVidia RAID solution, use that instead. Using the nVidia SATA ports as BASE or JBOD is fine and dandy but RAIDing always had issues. It's not even a driver issue I think it's just instability. Latest drivers and even boxed drivers never helped. Granted, some will report success with their rig. But on a professional level I've seen nForce issues on different motherboards and different hard drives that had RAID disaster stories.
Good luck and if you don't have another RAID solution, my suggestion would be to buy a dedicated RAID controller card.

Help needed on installation of Oracle 9i on Sun Solaris 8

Hey,
Help needed on installation of Oracle 9i EE on Sun Solaris 8. The problem I met was: we followed the installation guide from the documentation. And we selected the choice "install software only". After it was done successfully, we run Database Configuration Assistant utility to create a database instance. But finally it always tried to create the instance at the root directory ( / ) which doesn't have enough space and then failed. The case was that we have set the enviroment parameters: $ORACLE_BASE = /export/mydata, $ORACLE_HOME = /export/apps/oracle9i. That means it should be installed at /export/mydata, but it didn't. Any help or advice are welcome. Thanks.

I have downloaded Oracle 11G R2 version from Windows and extracted it in Windows and copied it into DVD after extraction in two folders. Now I am mounting that DVD in Solaris 10 installed in my VMware . I made a new directory named as 'installation ' under /export/home/oracle and copied the folders from DVD to 'installation' folder. Now I am entering installation folder and try to do ./runInstaller as 'oracle ' user and getting the error mentioned before.
