No excel downloading icon is available in alv report

i m facing a strange problem, my alv report not showing any excel download or local file down load icon or submenu. but it is working fine in other login.

-check you authorization using SU53
-is there any parameters are set under your login check it using su3 or su01

Excel Download of a Web SAP BW Report asks userid and password.please help

Dear BW folks,
Issue: When I run a specific SAP BW Report from Web and download the same into excel & csv.
When I open the excel file downloaded, it asks me user name and password to enter. csv file downloaded doesn't ask.
The report has 0cust_sales hierarchy and SBU hierarchy.
Is there any thing to do with these hierarchies that the excel download is asking user name and password?
Please help me out!!!!! This report needs to be downloaded into excel sent to my manager.....

How to download a Block List based ALV report to PDF file?

Hi Everyone,
I need to display a report in block list alv format using REUSE_ALV_BLOCK_LIST_DISPLAY... I have done this. But my problem comes next.
1. I need to download this report to a pdf file in the user given directory - in presentation server. How can I download this in PDF format.
2. My report has TOP_OF_LIST and END_OF_LIST events. The body of the report contains a table with some material data. There should be 1 table for each material no. There are around 50 records for each material no. So I am looping at the material no. and calling REUSE_ALV_BLOCK_LIST_APPEND.
Now my problem is that I should have only 20 records in each page. How can I determine this? How do I put a page-break?
Please anyone help me.

Hi Anwesha
You can send the report output to spool using the IS_PRINT parameter of REUSE_ALV_BLOCK_LIST_DISPLAY FM. Then read the spool number generated and pass it to CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF to get the pdf content which could be downloaded to presentation server.
The splitting of records on count could be done by calling above method with different internal table filtered as per your requirement.

When we run MSS reports some of the generated reports give us the option to export the file as a local object while with other reports the icon is missing. What is the reason for this? Please let me know know. Thank you!

Check out this link. This might help. The value set in ~WEBGUI_SIMPLE_TOOLBAR determines the button displayed on portal. Check the authorization provided to end user . The visibility of buttons depend upon authorizations as well.

Problem in ALV to Excel Download

I am facing one issue related ALV to excel Download.
I Developed one custom report the output is correct displaying.
the output is like for example i am taking 3 columns (plant, material, amt).

Hi,
You can also try in this way
in the output screen
click List (in app tool bar) -> Export -> Spreadsheet
and save at your desired location.
(It will be save in .mhtml format , just rightclick on it and you can open it with excel )
Then you will be able to view in your required format.

ALV Excel download problem

I am trying to download ALV report to excel but the columns in the o/p is appearing in two rows.
THe ALV report has 82 columns in o/p.Is there any restriction on the no of columns that can be downloaded in excel.Please help.

I have faced the same kind of problem but not with downloading , while uploading the excel file to SAP. The problem is that, If the line of excel sheet exceed 4096 characters, it used to take the remaining first line as a second line. Whatever be th FM, the same problem will come up I hope, because I_TAB_RAW_DATA field of a FM is of type : <b>types truxs_t_text_data(4096) type c occurs 0.</b>

Numbers get exported as Text when selecting Download to Excel / Download to

I have a dashboard report in which the numbers appear in the French format as follows:
37 167 534,4
In English format, it would represent
37,167534.4
When i export my report, the number is displayed in Excel as text, and not as a number. This is because of the space in between37 and 167 in the French format.
What changes do i make to ensure that the number is exported as a number, and not as text?
I'm using Office 2003 SP3. Need a solution ASAP.

Using Excel template in ALV Report

Dear Gurus,
I am having problem with excel template as layout used in ALV report (as i am new to this topic). I uploaded the excel sheet through report BCALV_BDS_UPLOAD. And i am calling the excel template with change layout option but it is not updated with report output data.

Did you try reading sap help files which clearly explains about Managing templates, selecting templates, creating templates, deleting templates.

How to save alv report

I want to allow the user to save the alv report. I could not enable to save button in my report.
I could save only layout..not the result of the report.
my code is

When ALV report display's the out put, you have option of using EXPORT ICON in the default ALV report Icons right.
So using that icon you can save.
In the function module that SAVE is for variants for the report.

Please check if following analysis is helpful to you.
Analysis/Solution:
When we export ALV data to excel worksheet, as sap notes say the maximum lenght allowed is 1023 charaters and the max no of columns supported is 90.
(I never faced any issue related to no of columns as it worked fine for columns >90 too)
Issue occured when row size of exported data gets more than 1023 character.
Therefore the row data must not exceed 1023 character, otherwise column splits and moves to next row.
One additional aspect generally missed is that:
When data in any particular column changes it's length, alv header also changes its lengh (short text, medium text, long text; depending on the length of of the longest cell in the column)
therefore even if you have total length of row less than 1023 character, there might be cases when your ALV header size exceeds this length.
Reducing the header size (by forcing to use short text or specifying own header names) should resolve the issue.

When i am trying to download the report which is having character more than 1020, it is coming in two rows. I want all fields in one row. Please give solutions.

ravi,
its not about how you have used your field catalog or how you called ALV FM. its excel download functionality,
what you need to do is:
set pf-status '<<some value>>' -> you can find where to pass in ALV FM call.
then add a application toolbar button though this pf status.
then at use_command event, check sy-ucomm and if its the same as your new icons fcode then use the method to download it in excel.

SAP has provided the user interface for downloading the data into an excel file in the tool bar there is an option for downloading into excel.
Another way is to write a code using the function module alsm_excel and then downloading into the excel,
