No folders showing in Mail?

Hi guys,
The title pretty much sums this post up – I'm using Mail on my laptop and it syncs (and works) on my iPhone 3GS. Problem is the folders I have set up don't show. I've just set up my work email on it and that also works with folders showing and that is a Kerio mail server set up through Exchange!
Any thoughts?

I may have misunderstood what the original poster was trying to achieve but...
As I said, I have several folders (mailboxes) set up in Mail for keeping things organised and all of these sync with both mobile me and my iPhone.
When you create a new mailbox you're given the option of it being on the mobile me 'cloud' or on your Mac.
Mailboxes on the Mac will not sync with mobile me but, obviously, those on the cloud will and appear on both the mobile me web site and the iPhone.
If you have mailboxes on your Mac that you want to sync with other devices just create a new one on the 'cloud', move the contents of your Mac folder into the new one and use the new one in future.
I think that's what the original post was trying to accomplish.
Forgive me if I'm incorrect.

  • How do you get your Iphone to show sub folders in the mail program?

    Hallo
I Have a lot of sub folders in the mail program, that I use to distribute my mails according to projects but they do not show on my Iphone? Is this function not possible?
    Thanks!
    Mikkel

I didn't set anything - it just happened. I think it only works for IMAP accounts. If yours is IMAP, the only thing I can think of is to delete the account and set it up again

  • Windows Live & Yahoo Plus mail folders not showing in Mail

I use 4 different mail services. For each email address I have, I created custom folders where i get filtered messages. For instance I receive facebook update mails in a separate folder I created in my Windows Live mail. Same goes for different addresses, different folders. This helps me keep things organized and fairly simple.
Now, inside Apple Mail, in the left column, Gmail and AOL have created sort of a secondary extended mailbox that contain all the custom folders I created on the provider's webpage.
On the other hand, Yahoo Plus and Windows Live didn't get as lucky, and apart from the fact that it took me quite a while to realize I'm missing quite a lot of mail, I had to give up all my filters on Yahoo and Live so that all messages get delivered in the main inbox and successfully forwarded to Apple Mail.
    Question is :
Does anyone know why am I not getting the folders in Apple Mail ? Or how to set up either the mail options or the Apple Mail to make that happen and work like the other two ?

Very strange. When I reopen mail it sees all mailboxes for a few seconds, then refreshes (I guess) and half of them disappear. When I create or delete a mailbox all mailboxes show. I am forced to either create or delete a mailbox on each restart of mail. (only osx 10.3.9 mail client, not clients on linux or windows.)
    baffling me totally

  • How can I pick and choose what IMAP folders are show in Mail?...

I am using IMAP and it works fine. Except "Sent" messages are saving on the server to "Send Messages" however I cannot see it on the list of IMAP folders in Mail. I see other folders, Save, etc. ones I created, just can't make the folder on the server show up in Mail.
If I go into the "Account Info" window in Mail, it does not show it either. Even though it is on the server and Mail is saving sent messages to it as it should.
Any ideas? How can I pick and choose what IMAP folders are show in Mail?
    Thanks
    Frank

Yes it is using the sent mailbox but just does not show it. MS Mail on Vista has a "show/hide" IMAP folder screen, I wish Mac Mail has this..would be perfect.
I was thinking about deleting the account, and adding it, that would reset it I am sure. However I have my mail set to keep a copy locally for off-line viewing (option in preferences under Account) and I get the sense that if I delete the IMAP account and add it, it will download a copy of each piece of mail (for example my inbox) again and I will have two of everything. Does this make sense? Do you think this will happen?

  • Mail-enabled Public Folders Not showing as Mail-enabled

We have completely migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 (SP1 Rollup 5).  Many, but not necessarily all, of our mail-enabled public folders do not appear to be mail enabled in either the 2007 PF Management Console or the Shell, yet they are mail-enabled in the 2003 System Manager and we can send email to them.  If we mail-enable a folder in the EMC, it blows away any previous email addresses and creates a new one.
Any reccomendations on how to get 2007 to accurately display the properties of these folders??

Issue description: Mail-enabled public folders can’t show as mail-enabled status in the EMC and EMS after migrated from exchange 2003 to exchange 2007, right?
    Troubleshooting:
    1.       Please use “Get-PublicFolder” to check the output of a migrated problematic public folder, see if the value of “MailEnabled” is “True”
Get-PublicFolder -Identity "\problematic public folders name"
    2.       Please find out where migrated problematic public folder objects exist in the AD. By default, mail-enabled public folders should stay in the “Microsoft Exchange System Objects” container. You can use ADUC or ADSIEditor to verify their current location
    3.       I assume that link between mail-enabled public folder and its AD object has been broken during the migration. So, I suggest you to create a test mail-enabled public folder, and compare the attributes of its AD objects with the problematic one with ADSIEditor. This will tell us if there are any incorrect values in the attributes of the problematic public folder objects
    a.       Launch the ADSIEditor (Start->run-> ADSIEditor.msc)
    b.      Locate problematic mail-enabled public folder object and the new created one
    c.       Right-click the objects and select “Properties”. Then, compare their attributes in the “Attribute Editor” tab
Notes: Please select all three checkboxes in the “Attribute Editor” tab, it will save more time during the comparison

  • Exchange 2007 not showing all mails

There are a lot of mails within folder not shown within apple mai! I connect with the Exchange 2007 setting and it just does not sync well. I tried Exchange IMAP which works, but lead to different problem like having a separate 'Sent' folder!
If I check those folders with OWA ord Outlook I'v got hundrets of mails. Even my iPhone shows all mails! But Apple Mail doesn't.
The Syncing of Exchange 2007 with Mail is broken! We are three people working with it (all software developers) and there are so many problems...
i.e. renaming folders if you have the option 'keep mails and attachments' set and several people are using the same account for archiving mails within project folders...

I removed now the whole mail profile (the folder with finder). I added the account again and still I'v got folders which just show mails up to december 2009. That's **** for us.
I have no way of 'resyncing' the folder...

  • Creating file folders in iPad mail

Is it possible to create mail folders in iPad mail, or is there an app that let's you organize mail into folders

It depends on what email provider your using to make a new folder. For example I use gmail and coustum folders in gmail are called labels. Don't ask me why they are called labels... You can add a folder from the iPad and here is how to do it with gmail.
Open a new browser window in Safari...
Type in google.com in the URL address bar...
Click on Gmail in the menu...
Type in your user name and password...
When Gmail loads, look at the bottom of the page and click on basic HTML...
You can add folder (labels) in two places. From the settings (top right), label tab. Or from the  left hand column, labels, edit labels...
Add the a new label with a name...
You can add as many folders (labels) to you liking.
Click on the email icon app. If the new folder doesn't show up hit the home button and click on the email app again, the new folder should show up.
Once you have done this a few times you'll get a good workflow.
I'm sure you can do this with other email providers that let's you access your email by way of a bowser page.

  • Why my smart folders dissapear in mail when i close mail application in mountain lion?

Why my smart folders dissapear in mail when i close mail application in mountain lion?
    Please help!

My results jumped up from around 1000 to 10,000 when I did that.
I think this may have to do with having x11 and xcode installed.
In case anyone is interested, these are the folders I've had to exclude:
    User\Library\Developer
    System\Library\Frameworks
opt in the root folder of the HD (this is x11. You may have to Finder's 'go to folder' option to get to it.)
There was also Office stuff coming up which looks like it's from the system when you see it (the identities folder and the subfolder within the Office 2011 folder in Applications)
The combination of this stuff seemed to create the impression of more files from the System and Library folders were coming up than actually were.
In case anyone is still reading, the stuff *still* being thrown up that I'm aware of is
Mountain Lion screensavers from the System and Library folders.
PreferencePanes - System, PreferencePanes - User and PreferencePanes - Library folders, which each show up as individual results.
But, as you say, bispymusic, perhaps Apple has deigned that those folders appear in results. Thanks a lot for your help! Have a good one.

  • Create new folders for e-mail?

Is it possible to create folders for e-mail? Or does this sync with e-mail accounts? I use comcast.net and none of my folders show up on my iPhone. Any info. would be appreciated.

With an IMAP account only and Comcast provides POP account access only.
A POP account is designed to be accessed with a single email client only.
An IMAP account is designed to be accessed with an email client on multiple computers or devices with the ability to keep all server stored mailboxes synchronized with the server automatically with all email clients used to access the account, and the ability to create additional server stored mailboxes to sort/store received or sent messages by category which will also be kept synchronized with the server automatically with all email clients used to access the account.
With an IMAP account, you can also store sent messages on the server. Send a message with the iPhone's Mail client and the message will be available in the account's Sent mailbox automatically when checking the account with the email client used on your computer to access the account, and vice-versa.
This is not possible with a POP account.

  • Search across multiple folders in the Mail application...

Is it possible to search across multiple folders using the Mail application in Windows 10?  I can't seem to find that option.
    Thanks in advance,
    M

    Hi Mapper99,
If you mean the following search:
You may click on the search icon on the top of the message list, then it will show out like the picture above, you could choose to search in the current folder, or you may choose All folders as listed.
It is almost the same settings in Windows 8.1, you may follow this guide for the other options:

  • Wrong counts on unread emails on my gmail folders in Mac Mail

    Hi
I have a tag showing unread emails in my Gmail folders in Mac Mail when I have no mail inside those folders.
Sent Messages 133 and All Messages 244
I have deleted mnessages everywhere and still this count tag appears with same number.
    Pierre

There are two standard protocols for receiving email, POP and IMAP. In the POP (Post Office Protocol) when messages are "read" by your email client (Mail) they are downloaded and stored on the reading computer and deleted from the POP server. When you are using IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) the messages remain on the IMAP server until they are deleted. IMAP was created for exactly the situation you are trying to achieve. For example Apple's iCloud (formerly me.com, formerly mac.com) uses IMAP protocol. So whether I access my email on my Mac, my iPhone, my iPad, or via webmail I have access to all the files in all the various mailboxes automatically because they are all seeing and using the same online mailboxes. If I delete a message on any of the varioius devices it is deleted on all of the various devices.
Whether you can use IMAP protocol or not depends on your email host and whether they have an IMAP server or not. Many ISPs do not offer IMAP because they do not want to bear the expense of the additional disk space required to store the IMAP messages. As I mentioned before Apple's free email service is by default IMAP. Google Mail offers a somewhat non-standard IMAP service. It works with Apple's email client, Mail, but it is just a bit "different".
Personally I resisted using IMAP for years. Largely because I had always used POP and was comfortable with it. Once I got an iPhone and needed to synch my email between my computer and iPhone I realized IMAP was "the only way to go."

  • Disable the IMAP folders in Mac Mail?

    Hey all.
This is almost a follow up to my other question I asked previously. With Leopard, when I automatically added a Gmail account to mail, it would sync right up no questions asked, and when I wanted to manage the mail on the server, I would have to go to gmail.com or whatever to do so.
Now with SL, when I added my accounts back, the IMAP folders show up and keep everything synced on the website with Mac Mail. Call me counter productive but I prefer them separate like it was before SL. All the IMAP folders are confusing and I prefer like it was with just inboxes and sent boxes. This make any sense to anyone?
By the way, I disabled IMAP on Gmails end, but it causes my account to stop working altogether in Mail.

My question is, why is IMAP enabled by default anyway? Mail was FINE. It handled multiple gmail accounts FINE. Now I have 2 copies of everything in 2 different In Box's, I can see the dumb folder gmail sets up for each account. NOT what I want (it set this all up in the automatic setup dialog that opens when I open Mail and I cannot find a way around it).
It's been said a MILLION times, but I'll say it again: IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT.
    /disable IMAP

  • Rules for exchange folders in mac mail are gone at regular intervals

I have some problems with mac mail and my exchange account.
At regular intervals my mail doesn't show my mails in my mail folders. Than I have to restart mail and those mails are back again. But then I have to set destination folders for each rule and for each shortcut in mail again.

Why would I go to the Microsoft Community when I'm asking specifically for an answer to how much is left to download in my mail account in the Mac Mail App Officially from Apple?
To speed things up, where's the "Items downloading, items remaining, and total items in Mailbox" for iCloud Accounts in Apple's Offical Mail Mac App?

My phone sometimes wont show voice mail, sometimes wont ring just shows missed calls, and some text messages wont show received till next day. Can anyone help?

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Try reseating or replacing the SIM card.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).
Has any of the above been tried?

I am changing to iCloud on my iMac, MacBook Air and my iPhone. My iMac and MacBook both moved over to iCloud but my iPhone when I go to Settings and click on iCloud it shows my Mail setting turned Off. When I turn it on it wants me to create a new email address to turn on iCloud Mail. I already have to "me" accounts plus another email address and don't want to create another one. I don't understand why it's asking me to do this on my iPhone but didn't ask on my iMac or MacBook and is there a way around creating another @me.com email address?
