No full-screen toggle on quicktime player since going from 10.6snowleopard to mavericks10.9. What to do?

Which version of QuickTime Player are you referencing? 7.7.6 or 10.3?
In 10.3 the on screen icon appears in the upper right corner to move to full screen.
In 7.7.6 there is no on screen icon for full screen unless you're in "presentation mode". Presentation mode uses a different set of controls that "float" atop the playback.
The standard shortcut for 7.6.6 to enter full screen playback is command-f keys.

The instructions in the Developer page you link contemplates that you are using the QTX version instead of QT7 Pro:

QT7 Pro does not allow selection of iOS devices as the Camera and Microphone  input source.
QTX is the QT version included with Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard and later. However, as explained in the Developer page you linked above, if your Mac is not already using it, you need to upgrade to the current (OS X 10.10 Yosemite) OS X Version to use iOS devices as the recording sources in QTX.

Low frame rate in QuickTime Player since 10.4.6 update

Has anyone else noticed that after updating to 10.4.6, QuickTime Player drops frames when playing 25/30fps movies at full screen (or any window wider than 1024 pixels)? The actual frame rate I'm getting is about 15fps, although CPU usage is low.
I'm asking it here since I think it might be specific to the iMac's graphics card (GeForce FX 5200).

I haven't noticed any change myself, Dan, but I have the 2 GHz model.
One thing I HAVE noticed though after OS updates is that they can often result in a fair amount of file and free space fragmentation immediately after installation. OSX's routines will deal with fragmentation of small files , but not of large ones (over 20 Meg), and it won't deal very effectively with free space fragmentation. If your HD is getting full this can cause significant slowdowns, especially where video is involved.
You should also run DiskUtility and check for any directory and permissions issues.

Full screen record in quicktime

How do I get Quicktime to record a full screen video that is already in the full screen mode. I "simply" want to know the sequence of how to engage Quicktime to record a full screen video if that's possible.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like you want to record the screen using QuickTime. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
QuickTime Player 10.x: Record your computer’s screen
In QuickTime Player, choose File > New Screen Recording.
Choose options for the screen recording from the arrow pop-up menu.
If you want to record the entire screen, click anywhere on the screen to start the recording.
To stop the recording, click the Stop button, or press Command-Control-Escape.

Full Screen slide show not functional since upgrading Graphics card??

Just upgraded to a geforce fx 5200 graphics card...now the individual full screen pic or the full screen slideshow will not function. Get Fatal Error C0000005 at Address: 6e310c01. Dumps me out of Photoshop album starter edition 3.0. I have about 1000 images in multiple groups, files, email shares, etc and need to be able to get back to functionality. This has occurred since installing the graphics card mentioned. Is the newer 3.2 version an "upgrade" to 3.0. If I download it will it overwrite the existing version and still have all of my photos in place? It's an option I am considering to try to get back to properly functioning. ANY I repeat ANY help would be appreciated...THANKS....

I have a Geforce FX5500 card & updated the driver for it, why I have no idea! Anyway the slideshow came up with some sort of major error & as I already knew using bang up to date graphics card driver stops certain old games working I rolled back the driver from the 23/4/08 (approx) version to driver version 6.14.10.9371 dated 22/10/06. Different card I know but an older driver may sort it.

Is it possible to go full screen with the DVD player?

I have a 21" IMac. When trying to play a DVD, I cannot get the movie to go to full screen. I can expand the screen to a larger size, but there are still a sizable margin left over. Very annoying and distracting when trying to watch a movie. I cannot find a full screen button anywhere on the device. Any assistance you could give me with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

iDVD is an authorihng application for createing video DVDs to play on set top DVD player on TV. DVD Player is an application for playing video DVDs, either commercial or home made on your Mac.

Full Screen Button in Captivate Player?

I'm adding captivate demos into my RoboHelp 8 project and was
wondering if one could add a Full Screen button to the captivate
player to enable the same functionality that is now available when
adding Captivate movies to PDFs.

Welcome to our community, Clay
There is no functionality like that that I'm aware of. At
least not directly in Captivate or in RoboHelp. Sorry.
But a thought does spark here. I suppose you might try
creating the Captivate inside the PDF. Then drop the PDF into
RoboHelp. Maybe that would provide what you are looking for.

Full screen toggling in Mail App

I keep Mail open all the time as I am working between that and other Apps pretty much all day. When composing a message I have discovered that in full screen mode you cannot toggle between the open message and the main Mail window.
Having it in full screen mode and being able to swipe to access it is great. However, I generally will be working on one email, referencing back to other emails and also maybe checking mail that is coming in, especially if it is an ongoing conversation (I generally get 80 - 100 emails a day that are work related). All of this is impossible in full-screen mode, rendering pretty useless from a professional work-related point of view.

Fully agreed with your assessment.
One work around is to not be in full screen, in MissionControl drag the open mail to it's own desktop (upper right + sign) and with the green button fill the screen ( or drag the edges.)
In this condition you can have access to a new mail composition and reference the mailboxes and still swipe between full screen apps or Desktops.

Full screen mode in flash player - how to make it more fluent ?

For some reason I'm experiencing a not fluent picture by watching tennis or other sports on ESPN3 Live on Flash Player.
The thing is, sometimes in one and the same session, watching the same match switching to full screen mode I get a fluent picture and another time it will jerk.
In the commercial breaks of the matches I sometimes play some games for some minutes. I can understand that can absorb some memory. Then I put my game screens into the dock and sometimes I get a fluent picture then of my match and sometimes not.
Does it have anything to do with virtual memory ?
Can I increase something somewhere to get the picture to be fluent ?

Full screen mode takes more computer resources, better video quality, a faster broadband connection etc.
It all depends what type of machine you have, if you have a 15" or 17" MacBook Pro, then head to Energy Saver and turn off graphics switching or enable the high performance option, you will need to be on power.
The 13" and below you can't help it, it's the lousy integrated graphics.

Next if the game you were playing is send out Internet connections this could be interrupting or interfering with the streaming service, especially if your download speed of your Internet connection is not all that fast or reliable.
If you have others on your local network, or local interfereance from applicances or stuff that could be affecting your WiFi signal to your computer.
If you used a alternate DNS service, one with no local server, that also could be a problem.
Could be your Flash needs to be updated or reinstalled, the caches flushed out.

Full screen mode broken in Aperture since Lion update?

Just been testing and it seems Lion or something has messed up Full Screen mode in Aperture. Any one else getting the same?

I click top right icon or hit 'F' and it eventually loads to the browser window but the dock is on top. I scroll with 'V' to get to desired view. Usually a beachball for 10 secs.
Leaving full screen mode using 'F' goes to black screen and just hangs or shows normal mode which then fades and goes back to black. Hitting Esc to get out gives me a black screen and nothing happens too.
Only way out is to use scroll left gesture on Magic mouse to get back to desktop. have to quit Aperture to get back to normal mode.
And repeat...

I have problems with my project in imovie, when I play the proyect in full screen it interrupts and tells me to report it to apple...what can I do? I need to finish and convert in video and just cant, who can help me? My mac is Air...

I have problems when I check my proyect in full screen it simply stops and aborts out of imovie, tells me that ocurred an error and asks me if I want to report to apple the error. Quicktime Player not playing from USB drives

Throwing this at the Gurus out here,
Got an interesting issue going on with my USB drives. I have media that won't open with Quicktime on two 3TB USB drives, but if I move the media to Macintosh HD it runs. I checked permissions on the drives and am able to run the media (photos, audio or video) with Quicktime Player 7, but not with the normal Quicktime Player.
Any hints? Thanks.

Never mind. After I had uninstalled, reinstalled, updated everything...
it still needed one more reboot. Then it worked again.

I watch netflix on a secondary screen - my TV - but since I downloaded the Firefox update I can only get Netflix to open a full screen to my laptop. I get a full scren on my TV through Safari, or from Hulu on either browser. What is going on?

Yes, just made sure of that. I do have the latest version of Flash player. But I have just staggered upon the answer. Chalk it up to being a newbi. I was not putting my apple tv to sleep and it would not allow me to see
you tube on my computer while it was still operating on my TV. When I realized that, I put the apple tv to sleep and bingo, my computer runs you tube fine. Thanks again for your response.

I can control quicktime player files only from the dock, my mouse does not not close it, and when selected the window fades below the finder or other opened apps.

Does anybody have encountered this problem, and if so, do you have a solution I could benefit from?

What Windows version?

Since going from internet explorer to fire fox, my printer will not work. what do I do

I changed my internet explorer to Fire Fox. I had to reset my information in order to log into an account because it didn't recognize my computer. When I got what I wanted, it would not print out the information. What do I need to do since I am using Fire Fox

Thank you for the assistance. Before getting this information, I clicked on the actual document and it printed. I had previously gone to FILE and PRINT and it would not print. I will keep the information sent to me, if I have further problems, I will have someone more knowledgeable than myself follow the instructions that were sent.
