No HP service outlets in australia

To all intending purchasers of HP products.
Did you know that there are no service outlets at all in Australia to have a product looked at if it breaks down.
I live near and within driving distance of Brisbane Qld
My HP Officejet 6500 stopped working.
Aafter nearly 45 minutes on the phone to a call centre outside Australia I was told that a new power adapter (which, to the call taker, appeared to be the problem) would be sent out to me within 3 -  5 working days.
Not much good to me if it goes over a weekend as I need the printer for my small business.
Also if it is not the power adapter at fault I am back at square one and will have to go through all this again to have the printer replaced (it is still under warranty)
You, as I have found out, will just have to wait.
I suggest you consider this above information when intending to purchase an HP product

Dear brucealenby,
I was attracted by your post because  my company is an HP Partner that supports Australia and New Zealand. Just being
curious I went to google.com, clicked on Google Maps and made AUSTRALIA as my default location. I typed your own
words:" HP service outlets in australia "- without the " ",on the search box and, bingo , I have about 240 results, the most in New South Wales and Victoria.  Please check the url below:
http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl
In addition to that, I have an official list of HP resellers and authorized Parts Sellers, that can be accessed with my official HP tool, which I am not allowed to share in this forum. Call HP at 1300721147 and we'll be happy to help you. Make sure
you chose the correct options for desktop,laptop/notebook, or printers after the recorded voice prompt to bring you
where you want. Also, please visit  www.hp.com.au

  • HT201401 where can I take my US phone for service in Melbourne Australia?

I am new to this and signed up just to ask this question.
Where can I take my phone to have it checked out in Melbourne Australia.  My only trip and the phone (with camera) stopped working the day I left Seattle.

Try this to resolve your camera issue...
Close All Open Apps... Turn the phone Off...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
Turn the Phone On... and try the Camera again.
If no joy...  For a Store, See Here http://www.apple.com/au/retail/chadstone/

  • HT201328 Hello, my name is Caterina Taverna. I call the telstra online service in Melbourne Australia and asked for my phone to be unlocked.  I am now in the USA and have purchased a temporary sim card and cannot activate.  Asking for Activation Required.

This is now urgent as I need to have contact with my mother and nan who is very sick.

TJBUSMC1973 is correct. Back up your iPhone and then restore to factory settings. During set up you will be prompted to download and install Network Carrier Settings(this is the unlock).

  • Apple Customer Service and warranty exceptions

    Hello all,
Whilst I love my Apple hardware and software, and have had many good experiences with them over the years, unfortunately I post today with a complaint about what I perceive to be poor customer service and product quality.
In late March/early April of 2006, I purchased a 1.83GHz MacBook Pro with great anticipation- Intel inside, Tiger OS, inbuilt webcam, and general awesomeness all round. I also purchased the 3 year AppleCare warranty, which was to be a godsend as during the following three years I would experience:
*The replacement of the battery under the original MacBook Pro battery exchange program
*The left fan on the unit dying in 2007
*The logic board itself dying in late Feb/Early March 2008, thus bricking my laptop
*Another battery replacement as the replacement for the original died before it (realistically) should have (Apple very nicely made an exception to the battery's 1 year technical warranty and replaced it for me).
Fair enough, it's a new unit and was bound to have some problems. Unfortunately, last week the logic board died AGAIN; a mere 18 months after it was replaced in 2008. The unit is out of AppleCare warranty by 5 months or so, but I was urged by forumites and friends to call Apple, who would surely make an exception for me and pay for the replacement part, given my service history with the laptop and Apple's reputation for excellent customer service.
Unfortunately, this has proved to not be the case. Calling customer service at Apple Australia I talked to Steven, who was firm to the point of rudeness when he stated that my laptop was out of warranty and Apple would cover nothing but the labour charges involved, as a "guesture of good will". When stretched, he offered me a $125 voucher if I wanted to purchase anything over $400 in the Apple store, and stressed he didn't have to do this but the company was attempting to provide good service to its customer.
Despite my argument that I forked out over $3000 for this laptop a mere three years ago and am now looking at over $1000 to repair something replaced only 18 months ago, his line was that Apple provided a warranty and that was simply that (apart from a month or two grace). Five months is apparently "far outside the warranty period".
I received no challenge to my assertion that after buying something which cost over $3000, it was reasonable for Apple to expect a consumer to pay an extra $1000 every year after the warranty finishes to replace a broken logic board. In truth, I find this near incomprehensible, considering one can buy the supposedly inferior build quality of a Dell, HP, Toshiba, etc and see it last not just beyond the warranty but another two or three years before it finally suffers something terminal.
While from a warranty perspective Apple are well and truly within their rights to refuse to pay for the part, at the end of the day I am left to pay $1000+ for a repair for something which may only last another 12 months, plus $3500+ for a new Macbook Pro with AppleCare if I want a replacement- minus of course the $125 they are offering.
I did some reading of the ACCC's website about my statutory rights and the Trade Practices act, and I note the following with interest:
    *Statutory conditions (goods)*
The Trade Practices Act implies the following statutory conditions into consumer contracts:
    * The goods must be of merchantable quality. That is, they must meet a basic level of quality and performance, taking into account their price and description. They also should be free from defects that were not obvious to you at the time of purchase.
    * The goods must be fit for their purpose. That is, they should do what they are supposed to do and be suitable for any purpose that you might have made known to the supplier.
    * The goods must match the description you were given or the sample you chose from. For example, any carpet laid must be the same quality and colour as the sample you chose from.
    * You must receive clear title to the goods, including goods bought at auction. In other words, you can expect to own the goods outright and any restriction on ownership should be explained to you beforehand.
While I don't particularly want to make a big deal of things, I hardly see $3000+ for three years use and $1000 each year thereafter to be merchantible quality or fit-for-purpose! This is supposed to be a high end laptop with excellent build quality, and yet I've a secondhand iBook that has been chugging for longer without issue than this machine!
I told Steven from Customer Service that his offer didn't satisfy me in the slightest, and still put me in an awkward position with regards to repair and repurchase. He simply wouldn't budge, and refused to see things from my point of view (which another operator, Anu, was able to do and thus produce a much better response from myself). I have since asked to speak to his manager which- after initial resistance- I have been able to secure a future callback from. I have no idea how well discussions with he/she will go.
What I'd like to hear from you guys and girls is your experience with similar situations, and whether you think I've a leg to stand on with regards my replacement request or the ACCC stuff above. Again, I love my Apple products but I hardly think asking them to replace the part while I pay for labour is a big ask, given the service history and my desire to continue buying and using their products.
Love to hear your points of view on this one; thanks for taking the time to read it!
    Cheers,
    Dave.

    Dear meacod
I have live the same, except that I Cure my MBP before it goes to die.
A lot of older participants here just talk about Aplle care, which seem the automatic thing in front of a lack of real good quality on Apple products .
But I think we pay the price, and my second hand MBP was much more expensive than a brand new PC with more ram, more Hard disk, and even a blue ray...
I don't know your mbp history, but that's sure that we are not equal, in world, with Apple customer support. France is not so great, I don't know for your country.
The only thing I think is that Apple should take care of us, as we have some unacceptable issues, for An Apple Product...
Since 1996, when Apple was almost dead, saved by Bill Gates investment !!! , I have every year promote it, and it was not easy, but I have bring to Apple between 3 to 10 customers each year..
since One year, I have stop that, because I don't believe anymore in Apple product's superiority .
Oh, yes, on the paper, it's better, the system is really good. But the overall experiment can be so bad that I don't want to loose friends, or customers...
I don't say it's always bad : I just say that it CAN BE SO BAD and that Apple DON'T take care of that...
so, for your computer, open it, check it a lot, may be it's too late, but for instance, you talked about a fan, I have solved that case just by putting oil on the fan's axe...
    good luck

  • What's SOAP action URL in Australia?

i am using web service, https://worldsecuresystems.com/catalystwebservice/catalystecommercewebservice.asmx?op=Prod uct_ListRetrieve to get data.
As you can see in above page, the soapaction url is http://tempuri.org/CatalystDeveloperService/CatalystEcommerceWebservice/Product_ListRetrie ve, but when i call it, it return error message,
"DNS Lookup for "www.tempuri.org" failed. No such host is known".
is there a separate url for the web service call from Australia?
    thank you in advance

tempuri.org is the test default namespace URI used by Microsoft development products, like Visual Studio. The term is strictly a placeholder and all instances of it should be replaced with a more meaningful URI in production systems.
The World Wide Web Consortium recommends that XML namespaces be a Uniform Resource Identifier. "tempuri" is short for Temporary Uniform Resource Identifier.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tempuri
Basically its a placeholder that needs changing.

  • My iphone 4 doesn't working and i think frozen still on warranty but im here in philippines i just bought in chadstone victoria australia can i use warranty in milan because im going there for work

please help me my iphone doesn't work.

Sorry, but the warranty on the iPhone is country-specific (or, in the case of an EU iPhone, specific to the EU). An Australian iPhone can be serviced only in Australia. You'll have to ship it to someone you know back in Australia to take or send it to Apple or an authorized service center. Once repaired, if you're going to be living in Italy for any length of time, I'd suggest selling the iPhone to someone in Australia and purchasing on there in Italy so you have local service and support.
    Regards.

  • Lenovo support site, warranty lookup and warranty service unavailable for 72 hours?

Hello, I've got a newly purchased Lenovo Yoga 2 13 with a confirmed hardware issue. I'd like to take advantage of the on-site support I purchased and it appears that's currently impossible. Here are the issues I've encountered.
I began at the Lenovo Support site: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/
I tried the Check Warranty Status tool ( http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/warrantylookup ) just to verify my new laptop and warranty are accurately listed in Lenovo's systems. No luck, the form has been returning a "Service Busy" error for the past hour.
I then tried to submit an Online Service Request ( http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/submitrequestonline ) to schedule the repair. Again, no luck. The page is broken and has no form or links on it (see below). Same result in multiple browsers over the past hour.
I finally called Lenovo technical support. Doing that was difficult because the support phone number is not listed anywhere visible on the Lenovo Support site - I had to find it through the FAQ here in the forum. The phone rep asked me some questions and then suggested I work with the vendor where I purchased the laptop. But it was purchased from Lenovo.com, so this is Lenovo's problem. The rep then informed me that the Lenovo technical support system is "being upgraded" and will be unavailable for the next 72 hours until Tuesday 8/12. I was unable to get a case number and will need to call back or submit a new request online (when and if the online form is repaired).
A next-day, on-site warranty is kind of pointless of it takes 2 business days before you can even request service. Not a good first impression, Lenovo. How about acknowledging the "system upgrade" on the support site or forum so customers know what's going on?

Does anyone know of any other options, or do I need to send my phone back to a service centre in Australia?
For a warranty claim, there is no other option.

  • I broke my Iphone back case, and no service center in Indonesia

    Dear Apple Communities,
    I'm from Indonesia
recently I just broke my Iphone 4 32Gb White Back Case
    dropped it accidentally
just the back case, fortunately no other part broken
and no authorized service center in Indonesia
so I couldn't find any genuine spare parts
I'm looking for the genuine back case, I can open the iphone back case myself thou
but my question is, is it sold separately?
since I have relative either from Singapore or Australia
anyway to tell them to sold it separately for me?
I mean like a code or official email from Apple itself
so I have the proof, and can tell the authorized Apple store to sell it to my relative
and they can bring it back when they visit me in Indonesia
    please help me, thx
Why I'm looking for genuine apple parts?
since the non-original one is making my camera blur all the time
the surface also not the same
and the white color is slightly different
    and I dont like it
in short- the original one is the best
so I need to get the original one desperately
    here's the condition
miraculously the lens is okay no single scratch
I'm only looking for the back case replacement, once again help me thx
    sorry for bad grammar

sir, I know that XL and Telkomsel is the two authorized carriers
mine is XL, they cannot fix my only back case
the only deal they will help is only network connectivity
    Telkomsel also cannot
in short neither one of them can provide me with genuine back case
I've checked to the two of them
I even went to the PT.Sinar Eka Selaras service center > Authorized distributor in Indonesia
    http://www.ptses.com/
since this item is genuine from them
and all they can provide me is : Replace whole iphone = buy the new one
and as I told you there is really NO authorized service center in Indonesia
you broke your phone a bit, buy a new one
and I need only the back case
that's why I'm asking whether apple service center in Australia or Singapore can sell it separately
    hope you understand now
If one of the authorized carriage can help me, or the distributor can
why should I seek help here?
here's the deal that this is genuine 100% bought from authorized dealer in Indonesia
Imporir Name: PT. SINAR EKA SELARAS
Address:  Jl. Pakin Blok C Kav. No. 12, Komplek Mitra Bahari Kel. Penjaringan, Kec. Penjaringan Jakarta Utara

  • 55" VL900A doesn't connect to online TV services

Having just bought a 55" VL900A I'm quite surprised to find that it doesn't connect to any of the "catch-up" online TV services, here in Australia. Virtually every other brand of smart TV sold here, even the cheap Soniqs, will at least connect to ABC iView, if not more of the available catch-ups.
I hope someone from Toshiba can tell us that iView support is coming? (hopefully along with SBS, Fix-TV and Plus7) As I understand it the ABC does not charge a licence fee to provide a client in your product.
Going forward this is going to be a big deal-breaker for many new customers who might be weighing up a Toshiba versus another brand.

Im not from Australia but Im wondering you didnt contact your local dealer and pick up info about that. Usually local dealer should know how it works. I think they test products that they offer in their shops.
Have you maybe contacted Toshiba service provider in AU? Try it. Ask them what is wrong there.

  • Unlock the phone from a service provider

I have a contract with a service provider in Australia. I want to unlock the phone so I can use a sim card from USA while I am on holiday there. I have contacted the service provider and they have advised that I have to go onto iTunes to download an application to unlock the phone. Do you know the name of the application I need to download?

They are stringing you along , only the carrier can sanction the unlocking of an iPhone IF  they do as part of their terms and conditions.
Apple act as the carrier's agent by processing the unlock through iTunes no other involvement
Apple have NO say in the process totally a carrier decision

  • Slow system – problem with OS, software, memory, hard drive?

    I am running a MacBookPro5,3 (Intel Core 2 Duo – 2.8 GHz, Memory = 2 x 4 GB, Hard drive = NVidia 500 GB - 100GB of which is free space), using Mac OS X 10.6.3.
I was running 10.6.6. Then attempted a software update to 10.6.7 and the system essentially stopped working, Was able to back up data using target disk mode, and then reinstalled 10.6.3 using a purchased snow leopard DVD (had lost the disk that came with the computer). Worked for a while but have been having issues with increasingly long and frequent system slow downs (spinning beach ball). Recently attempted another system update, and the update failed and wasn't able to do anything. Used the 10.6.3 dvd and did a disk utility check – it initially said there was a problem with the hard drive – but on another restart from the DVD this issue disappeared (but still no working OS). Attempted connection of my computer to another laptop using target disk mode – this failed to show the target hard drive and only showed the dvd which was in the computer booted up in target disk mode.
At this point rebooted using the DVD and was able again to install system 10.6.3. However, there are still occasions of sporadic slow-downs associated with specific applications (spinning beach ball for anywhere from 5 – 120 sec). Ran disk utility from the DVD again – states that the permissions and the hard drive is OK. Also, ran a memory test (using Rember) which stated that everything was fine (although the test took nearly 2 hours to run and was punctuated by much spinning beach ball activity).
At this stage i am not sure whether I have a problem with memory, the hard drive, the OS or the software. Clearly something is not right – are there any other options to test my system (since I don't have the original dvd – I haven't been able to run a system hardware test) - other third party options?
Thanks in advance for any advice, and apologies for long post.
    Rob

Sounds like a failing hard drive or SATA controller. It's not clear whether you have a backup of your data. If not, you should remove the hard drive from the machine and install it an external enclosure or dock, then back it up using another Mac. Then take the unit to an authorized service outlet for testing.

  • Is there a way to install an SSD hard drive on a 2011 iMac without voiding the warranty?

I purchased an iMac last October and my line of work demands extensive use of After Effects and Final Cut Pro. My iMac is fitted with the standard 1TB SATA hard drive, and lately I considered installing an SSD drive as I have been experiencing lags. In all my naivete I asked Apple Store/Service outlet where I originally bought my iMac, but they turned me down, claiming that "they are not allowed to order the extra parts and if they do proceed then my warranty will be void". Which means that about 2 years of AppleCare will go out of the window. I can always do it myself, but at the risk of damaging my iMac and facing a null warranty on top of it. I am still reeling in disbelief, is it really the case that Apple prohibits its customers from legitimately upgrading their computer at their own stores? What kind of nonsense is this? It's an iMac we're talking about, not an iPhone. It is unreasonable, unprofessional, and I need an explanation!

Adding an SSD is not a simple endeavour like adding additional memory or adding another hard drive to a Mac Pro. That's probably why the option is only offered as an option at the time of purchase. Even if your Apple store was willing to install the necessary parts you will probably be paying for 1-2 hours of labor plus the cost of purchasing the necessary service parts (SSD, bracket, cables, etc) which I suspect will make the upgrade cost much higher than what it costs to add the SSD option when purchasing a new system.
I use my system for business and need it to work reliably.  Even though I'm fairly handy with tools I would not be willing to risk damaging my system and voiding my warranty by opening my system and removing the logic board and several other parts in order to squeeze in an SSD option and attach the appropriate cables and brackets. I'm also not prepared to deal with the hassles of explaining why my system has unauthorized parts installed in the event I experience issues and need to make use of my Apple warranty. My time is valuable, so I would probably investigate external storage options, or if I needed the speed of an SSD, I would consider selling my existing system and then purchase a new system configured with an SSD.
If you haven't already done so I suggest doing a search on 'iMac SSD installation' to see what's involved. It might help you understand why the SSD option is not offered post purchase.

  • Support from Apple

I was not sure where to post this but I have had an on going hardware clock issue with my iMac G5 20" It is not the PRAM battery but an issue on the logic board. When I approached the Apple reseller I purchased the item from they said it was out of warranty and there was nothing they could do.
So taking this as read I looked into the problem myself. What I found is the unit I was sold as a new item had been opened in the past and an attempt made to fix a small driver chip near the PRAM battery. I took photos showing many hand prints on the internal metal casing and the tape seal broken. When I reported this back to the Apple reseller they suddenly acknowledged the iMac was still under warranty and could be repaired. However, I thought I should report this to Apple Australia who raised a case number (so you know this is real Case 120059489) However Apple did not want to be involved stating they sold their reseller quote "a merchantable item" and I should speak to them. Giving up I went back to the reseller and asked for the iMac 20" to be repaired under the proven warranty but they have now stopped responding to my request for this repair to proceed i.e service ticket raised.
So to my question has anyone had experience in escalating a warranty failure / complaint to Apple US as I am not sure who I can turn to in the Apple organization to have the iMac fixed under warranty. By rights Apple should replace the item as there is a hugh question mark regarding whether I was sold re-manufacturer rather than new item in the first past. Right now I do not care I just want my families iMac fixed. Perhaps there is an alternative customer complaint mechanism I have missed. I have done the right thing in reporting to Apple Australia but this has not helped or resolved the issue.
Sorry for the long post. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Have you approached Customer Services at Apple Australia directly, Captain, rather than simply the support line? http://www.apple.com/au/pr/contacts.html may suggest some options if you have trouble getting the right contact.
But if this computer has really been "interfered with" by the company who sold it to you, then your action is clearly against them, rather than Apple, even if it is still in theory under Apple Warranty. Ultimately in Australia it is the actual seller, rather than the manufacturing company, who are responsible for making sure you receive "merchantable goods", though they in turn would have a claim against the manufacturer if the latter was responsible for the problem. Was the company concerned an Authorised Reseller?
If neither the store, nor Apple Australia, will properly deal with the matter then your next step is probably a 'small claims tribunal" action through the Consumer Affairs department in your State or Territory, or a call to "Choice" (ie The Australian Consumers Association).
It certainly sounds like a most unusual problem. How does the "clock issue" actually manifest itself?
I see all of your previous posts here are about quite unusual problems with support and concerns about pricing. This is really a user to user technical support forum rather than a consumer advocacy centre. If you tell us how your iMac G5 problem actually manifests itself then we may be able to suggest a solution without the need for external agencies.

  • Viewing Aperture metadata in Microsoft Windows XP

I shoot stills for the Royal Flying Doctor Service here in Australia. They use the photos in Windows XP. We cannot find a way for them to view the keyword metadata I've added in Aperture 2.1
Whilst details of the camera and exposure come up when viewing on XP's desktop windows (in "details" view), the caption or keyword fields are empty.
I know it's not something that Aperture's not doing; if we open the same JPEG file in PhotoShop on their computers, it can read the metadata just fine, including keywords and captions.
Also, doing a search (a la SpotLight on OSX 10.5) in Windows for particular metadata tags I've created turns up nothing.
I presume it may be a Microsoft issue, but if anyone has any suggestions about how to get my keywords across to XP so they're viewable via Details View of a desktop window, or XP's inbuilt photo viewer, I'd be most grateful!
    Adam

We've only tried JPEGs William. Are TIFFs more compatible where metadata is concerned do you reckon?
