No mobile network or wifi call!

Any one know if there is problems in the North wales area ? I cannot get network or wifi call.
If there is a problem with service, how long will it be down?
Thanks

Hi
Unfortunately there has been some issues with Wi-Fi Calling but there is not a nationwide signal issue.
The Wi-Fi calling issue is being investigated but is only affecting a small minority of customers.
Have you tried re-booting your device?
If you send me a private message with your postcode details. I can check to see if there are any issues in the area.
Thanks.

  • Issue with mobile network vs wifi

Hi all, after using wifi the iPad cannot connect to 3g. It says that server is not responding or that it cannot activate mobile networks (while the signal strength is full). So I need to restart ipad and then it's ok. Thanks in advance

Same problem here...more specifically out of nowhere my ipad 3 seems to be unable to activate cellular network.  But the "wheel of death" will spin and spin for many minutes prior to alerting me of the connection issue.
My ipad 1 was problem-free and the 3 just seems so much slower, especially when connected to 3g/4g.

  • Mobile Network or WiFi for updates?

I've done my Q10 update(s) using the mobile network without any problems.
I saw somewhere that said updates should only be done using wifi.
Is this true?  If so, why?
    Thanks!
    . . . . .  Pete

i have done both, no difference but LTE was faster than my wifi at work.
Wifi at home is faster than my 4g connection as LTE is not so strong at home at times

It is quite frustrating to realize there is no mobile network connection being recognized when there is always one availabe. The cell must be powered off and on to re-establish mobile network connection. Please help

    Hey Staats,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
What version of BlackBerry 10 software are you currently running?  Go to Settings>About to find this information.
Also has this issue happened ever since you had the BlackBerry Q10?
I look forward to your reply.

  • BB 9330 - turning off mobile network data services causes BIS WiFi connection to change to not connected

    re: v. 6.0.0.719 bundle 3084 platform 4.4.0.560 update
    1. History.
    a. Received BlackBerry Curve 9330 out of the box with bundle 2333 installed (but missing Verizon Visual Mail Message app.) Installed BB Desktop Software on laptop, connected smartphone to PC, Attempted to install bundle 3084, but initialization apparently failed, phone still showing bundle 2333 installed and no VVM app. Browser app unable to connect to network. On second try was able to complete 3084 install. Still no VVM app. Now some times the browser connects, sometimes it does not. Browser not connecting appears to be BB software bug. VVM issue appears to be one for the service provider.
    b. Data service is currently Verizon BlackBerry Social Messaging Data Package which is suppose to have BlackBerry Internet Services via WiFi per Verizon FAQ doc.
    2. Problem. With an active WiFi connection the Browser app is not connecting via WiFi giving a error message that WiFi service is required.
Investigation found if mobile network data service was turn off in Mobile Network Options, the BlackBerry Internet Services connection status was changed from connected to "WiFi" to "not connected". Browser appears to work ok when mobile network data service is turned on. BIS connection to WiFi comes back on. Not sure at this point if web data is going via mobile network or WiFi.
I am wondering if other BB 9330 Verizon users are seeing the same symptoms.
    Bill
P.S. I could not find where to report this apparent software bug. So I hope is the right place.

If you have your Mobile Network as well as Wi-Fi turned on, your phone will default to the Wi-Fi for browsing (assuming you have a strong Wi-Fi signal).  Leaving both on will allow you to browse as well as receive calls and texts.
    I hope that helps you.

  • No connection with mobile network

My phone (which was bought only 2 days ago) has suddenly lost connection with mobile network. "Emergency calls only" is written on lock screen, near signal power bar there is a small red 'x'. I tried turning it off and on, tacking sim card out and putting it back in, trying to connect to mobile network manually through the settings "Service providers" (it says "Could not connect to network now. Please try again later." when I try to connect manually), changing network mode (to all possible modes). Still no luck. I can't send an sms or make a call.
    What should I do?

I got similar issue but the only thing is phones randomly disconnects itself from the mobile network in some days. Then no matter you manually search for the network and try registering, it simply wont connect to any network.Your only solution is to reset the phone or turn off and on and it again auto catches your operator.

  • WiFi Calling and Visual Voicemail (VVM) Windows Phone (or Windows 10 Mobile)

We are planning to change our business network for company mobiles from Vodafone, we all have SIM-Free/Unlocked Windows Phone devices (Lumia 930, Lumia 735 and etc...) all with latest updates which is currently Windows Phone Update 1 except for 735 which is on Update 2 now I believe. Only EE offers true seamless WiFi calling and is advertised for Lumia 640 which is because of the Windows Phone Update 2 we believe. Based on this information I have 3 questions:What are the requirements for WiFi Calling on Windows Phone (Windows 10 Mobile) devices? We are also interested in Visual Voicemail (VVM) which latest Windows Phone supports however EE only appears to mention iPhones and no other device, number of questions have been answered with no current support however surly if they can do iPhone they can also do Windows Phone therefore wanting to know if anyone has any further information on this? Will any of the above require EE's own firmware or will the SIM-Free/Unlocked version work with it? (Reason for asking is that O2's Visual Voicemail only works with their own version of the firmware)As much input on this matter would be much appreciated because as we're going to stay with Windows devices long term now and switch all other iPhones to them also, feel free to include more technical info if necessary

    Hi
    Welcome to the Community!
At the moment Wi-Fi Calling is only available on the Lumia 640 out of the Windows devices. WiFi Calling will not be available on any other existing devices, but as we launch new devices we will confirm if they support this service.
Wi-Fi Calling is also only available on devices purchased direct from EE with the exception of the iPhone. An iPhone would just need to have Carrier 19.1 or above.
As for Visual Voicemail it is only available on iPhones. I'm doing some digging to find out if it is something that will be launched on other devices in the near future. I will let you know as soon as I get any information.
Also you mentioned you would be a business customer. Wi-Fi Calling is only currently available to Personal and Small Business customers.
    Hope this covers everything.
    Thanks.

  • Whatapp over wifi with mobile network on

I want to use whatsapp on wifi, keeping my mobile network on, but data services off (In mobile network options). I tried this thing but whatsapp doesnt work.
i have wifi setup at my home. To use whatapp on wifi i have keep my mobile network off. as the mobile network is off i cant receive calls n sms.  Any solution for this?
    Amey

    Ok Ameydhaygude
To turn off the radio you can not disable the data on your device without turning off the radio.
Go to settings, network connections, mobile network enters
In the tab where it says data services off.
Now you can use your WhatsApp via wi-fi and without turning off mobile radio.
If you're going to be more connected to a wi-fi option reminds enable data services.
    Regards.

  • Should I run wifi and my mobile network at the same time

I have a verizon bb torch 9850.  In my office at work, I don't have very good signal but we do have wifi.  So, facebook is slow if it's accessible at all and my battery drains quickly.  I was told by one customer service rep to turn on my wifi connection so that it will run off that and not my mobile network.  Another customer service rep told me this would drain my battery more quickly because the two connections are working against each other.  Does any combination of coneections affect sms or mms ??? Just wondering if anyone has any input on the subject ??? thanks for your help !!!!

I keep my wifi on all the time and don't find it to be a significant drain on battery life. Also, sms and mms run off the network connection so wifi being on or off wont affect that. I would be more concerned about the poor reception as a cause for the battery drain. Your Facebook and internet on your phone will work much faster with a good wifi connection. I also find the opposite is true where internet will work better over a good network connection than over a poor wifi connection. The problem with shutting off your network connection is that you won't receive phone calls or texts while its off. You will get the notifications for everything you missed once the network connection is restored. Maybe try the *228 thing at work and see if that improves reception. I don't believe the network and wifi connections compete with each other. However,  as long as wifi is on, it "looks" for wifi connections. This supposedly consumes some battery (I'm sure it does some), but i find it more convenient for me just to leave it on. There are also some settings changes that you can make that can have a substantial effect on battery life for your BlackBerry. You can find info on that in forums on the BlackBerry site and on Crackberry.com and probably even on here.

  • Select which network connect to WiFi Calling

Is it possible to select which WiFi networks connect to WiFi calling and which ones don't?  For example I like to use it at home and at work.  I also have Cablevision as my ISP which has over 1,000,000 hotspots.  As I drive I am constantly connecting and disconnecting from hotspots.  Is it possible to exclude Optimum WiFi and others from WiFi Calling?

Hi Danuals, Thank you very much for your response. I rang EE’s support number and they passed me to the 2 tier support team, who agreed with your diagnosis but said it takes a little time for them to change it from IPv4 to 6 so I just need to wait for it to be changed over. It actually turns out that because I live in an area with no mobile signal at all they are going to send me a free signal box to connect to my router. I have to say I’m very happy with EE’s support and also a very big thank you to you for pointing me in the right direction.   Update: My WiFi calling is now working as well, it came on after 15 mins

  • Music wont sync on my new iphone 4s. Restored it from a backup and now there's no music on it. In the music tab it says: Thomas iPhone has access to music on iCloud. Songs can be fetched via WIFI or a mobile network. What to do?

Restored it from a backup and now there's no music on it. In the music tab it iTunes says: Thomas iPhone has access to music on iCloud. Songs can be fetched via WIFI or a mobile network. The pnly thing I can chose to sync are voice memos.
    What can I do?

If you want all the songs from an artist on your phone you can to to the artist view, tap on the artist, scroll to the bottom of the list and you will see a Download All button.  This works for playlists and albums too (scroll to the bottom and tap the Download All button).  I suppose if you wanted all your music on your phone you could create a smart playlist in iTunes on your computer that would contain all your music, upload it to iTunes match (Store>Update iTunes Match), and then you would get a Download All button at the bottom of this playlist on your phone to download all your songs.
