No Motion in Buttons

I finally managed to navigate in DVD SP. Made my first Menu linked to a 2nd (sub menu). There I have the buttons linked to my videos. In Style I enable Motion and the asset is linked to the video. All buttons play fine.
But then, of a sudden, none of the buttons play anymore, they all show only 1 frame. The start frame is set. Nothing plays. I disable the Motion, move the start frame enable motion again, all I get is a freeze frame.
I wonder, what function disables the motion?
Everything else works fine!

Need help with Motion Tracking-button in After Effects CS6

Hello I just bought After Effects cs6 and wanted to try ''motion tracking'' but I just can't push the motion tracking button. Is there anyone who can help me with that problem?

In order for the motion tracking buttons to become highlighted, you first need to select the clip you'd like to track in the timeline:

Motion menus/buttons blank out on burn

Trying to make motion menus or video background or buttons with video clip. After building/formatting and burning, the menus don't show up. The screen is white with sound only.
This doesn't seem to be a problem with still menus/backgrounds
Am I missing something?

In DVDSP Preferences, in the Menu options change the Final Rendering option from Hardware Based to Software BAsed, or vice versa. That means, change to the opposite you have now selected. Then rebuild your project and chek it.
It's a known pronlem that should be solved this way.

Motion menu buttons in Layered menus

I´ve got a PSD Layered menu and I need to have a preview of the film playing either as the button or just on the menu, either way I can´t get the track playing in the motion menu.
Is there a way to do this?

I´ve just seen I can´t use video in layered menus, that´s after creating the whole menu system without being told in the manual...
Can I use Overlay mapping to display a layer or image over each of the 9 buttons to select?

How to loop motion in buttons

In DVD Studio Pro 4.0.3. I'm making myself crazy on this simple thing, so any kind help would be much appreciated. I've got a single video asset, divided into several stories, each represented by a button, which play and go back to the main menu, no problem. But I can't for the life of me make the motion in the buttons continuously loop for only that story section of the video and not continue over through the rest of the video.
I've searched here, but I can't find where the loop setting boxes are.
I've RTFM and am begging to be put out of my misery : )

You can't do it, plain and simple.
You need to composite the loops in an external
application, such as FCP, and use these short clips
as the assets... or composite the entire menu screen
in FCP and import that as a background.

Is there a better way to create motion menus buttons in DVD Studio 4.2.2?

Hi all,
I have been creating my motion menu videos for DSP templates in FCP or iMovie. Is there an easier way for DSP to recognize my chapter markers and automatically do this like iDVD?

A slightly quicker way to do what you described for an images is to select 'Duplicate version' instead of 'New version from Master' and then 'Remove adjustments' from version 1. This will leave you with the first version as the 'before' and the second version as the 'after' without having to use L&S.
If you need to do this for 108 images, it might be quicker to do the following:
Export Masters for all 108 images.
Reimport these into a new project (called 'before', for example)
You will then have a new project with the 'before' images and your original project with the 'after' images. You could then build an album to group all of these together. When you've finished with the 'before' & 'after' images (build your web gallery or emailed them or whatever), simply delete the 'before' project.

Frustration at a 10!!!-Premiere Element 9 extending duration time for disc menu, motion menu buttons

So I have spent over two days trying to extended the duration time for the dvd main menu motion sequence as well as the chapters. For some reason the main menu sequence is stuck at 29 seconds and chapter sections are stuck at 4 seconds. I've tried manually putting in more time, but it always resorts back to the above mentioned times. I noticed there are blue dots under the two run times does that mean the times can't be made longer? What am I doing wrong here?

PrE has a 00;00;30;00 Duration limit on the Menus. Some other, full-featured authoring apps., like Adobe Encore (bundled with PrPro), do not. Not sure about Sony's DVD Architect, which is a very popluar, and inexpensive authoring program. This ARTICLE goes into some detail on Menu Durations, but the limit is still 30 sec. in Pre.

Motion menus stopped working

I used to be able to use motion menus, but my last 2 projects, I've been unable to use them. Instead of motion, I see gray screen (but the rest of the menu works, and the text is there). Does the same with the motion preview button (I'm using DSP 3) as with the actual DVD.
Is this a known issue? I have upgraded OS's (but i'm not sure when exactly this became a problem).

I have the same problem and have had no luck searching the net for a solution:(
Instead of motion, I get the gray screen (color of the video background in the preferences).
If I use the simulator, the counter indicates that the video is playing, but the video is masked behind the colored overlay. If I click on a menu button, the video for the motion menu plays for an instant before the button-linked clip begins playing... If I build and burn a disc, this does not happen - that is, the motion menu video does not play for an instant, when a menu button is pressed. Sure would like to resolve this.

Motion Tweening Components - Will Not Work

I've been using Flash for a few weeks and have scoured and
scoured, trying to solve what I'm sure will turn out to be a small
issue I'm over looking.
Basically, I have buttons, scrollpanes, and FLVPlayer
components on my stage, in separate layers that work fine when they
are on the keyframe that I add them to initially. However, I want
to animate these components moving in and out of the stage (see
www.rossmnewton.com for an example). So I make new keyframes before
and after the keyframe I added the components on, copy the
components, move to the other keyframe, paste in place, move it,
then create a motion tween, and the animation works fine. The
problem is, no matter what I do though, my buttons, scrollpanes,
and any other component, will fail to work as soon as I apply a
motion tween to them. Instantly, they stop working. And I can't
figure out how to animate these types of components without
breaking them.
What am I messing up here? Can you not motion tween buttons
moving around? Or an FLV player?
And I notice that it creates "Tween 1", "Tween 2", etc.,
objects of type Graphic in the Library.

DVD Burn Error: too much motion menu content yet not much.

Perhaps you can elaborate a bit more. How many menus do you have in the project? In the scenes menus how many motion buttons do you have? How many differen audio files are you using in the menus? Of the files you dropped into motion menus/buttons, how long are those clips? How long are the various audio files you are using? ? ? ? ?? ????? ???????????
I can't see your project so I have no idea what you are already using and if what you have is clearly excessive or not.

Button Link Transitions with Audio?

Ive got a question on what can be used as a Button Transition. I have a 10 sec. AV in PP2, that I want to use. In general, no problems. Ive Exported the Video to DV-AVI (silent), and it works beautifully. I only have to do a blend from the Menu for the head and then a still from the Timeline at the tail. No biggie. What I am having problems with is getting an SFX Audio file into the PP2 Sequence for this Transition. So far, I am having problems. I tried to make a Timeline for this AVI with an AC3 Audio, but Encore2 would not allow a link to it, via the Pickwhip. I tried to Import several variations of muxed files, but kept getting errors with the number of channels on Import. Then, I did a muxed MPEG file, and got my first big "Crash" of Encore2. When I linked to the M2v, I got something about Abbie Normal Condition. Wasnt he the founder of the Yippies back in the 60s, along with poet, Allen Ginsberg? The error (really An Abnormal Condition... Please try to Save... ) came up and I could not even exit from Encore2. Had to finally use TaskManager to kill the Process. This was a first for me after all of these years. Lesson - do not use the M2v as a Button Transition!
Now, Im certain that there are possibilities that I have not tried, but before I beat what could be a dead horse, I wanted to find out one thing: can I even have Audio in a Button Transition?
I have total control over my Asset, so I can engage in any workaround necessary. If anyone has any info (Help/Manual do not go deeply into specifics on Button Transitions, and even Jeffs Book, Focal Easy Guide... doesnt mention them, as I can find.), Id greatly appreciate it. Same for any ideas on using Audio for these. In my case, its a bit of an electronic whoosh with a long gong tone, and moves left to right and rear to front to rear (in the 5.1 version). I do not need to do 5.1, as stereo, panned left to right would work fine too.

Thanks for the simple little test. I just linked my existing SFX AC3 to the Main Menu's Audio and it worked fine. The pan/fade of the 5.1 was intact and worked in Preview.
I Exported the Button Transition test as a DV-AVI/PCM WAV from PP2, and Imported as a Timeline into Encore2. Tested and it played fine, but there was just the left-right pan, as expected. Linked my Button #1 to the AVI, as it would not link to the Timeline (as before), and went to Preview - "An Abnormal Condition... Save... " happened again. It is obviously not just the M2v, but the AVI, as well.
Back to square one in my tests. I've been working with a preliminary, test Project in Encore. It was used to create a DVD set for client review of most other aspects of the Project. It contained 4 Dynamic Links to AE, which were rendered out, plus 2 Menus a short lead-in AVI and some other Assets. Without any Button Transitions, it previewed and burned perfectly.
What I am going to do now is create a fresh Encore2 Project. Initially, it will only have the Play First AVI, the two Menus (Main & Scene Selection) and then I'll work with just the Button Transitions - all other Assets will not be included. I want to eliminate any other possible problem from the mix.
One thing that occurred to me was that this Project was a very full DVD. Though the Transcode is Automatic, I wonder if I am now adding too much to an already Transcoded Project. Rather than clear all Caches, and Revert to the unTranscoded state in this Project, I'll build, instead, from scratch. If that works, I'll just do the Button Transitions for the Scene Select Menu (4 Buttons/Links) and test again. If it still goes well, I'll add in the Rendered AE files and probably not use DL this time. Then, I'll Transcode and test to see if it all holds up. This method will not tell us exactly where the problem lies, if it works at all, but then when I have time, I can go back and clean Caches and Revert the Assets for a final test.
To date, the motion-only Button Transitions worked fine. It was only when I have tried (several different schemes) to add Audio, that I have encountered the problem.
Should have the preliminary test this AM, as the Project is very simple and starting over is not a big deal.
One side observation that I have made is that after I had to use TaskManager to end the Encore2 Process the other day, it now takes Encore2 a few minutes to even get the Splash Screen up. This is new behavior. I also cannot shift focus to/from Encore2 (with PP2 open), by clicking on the icon in the Taskbar. Even Rt-clicking and choosing Restore does not Maximize it. Only by going to TaskManager and clicking on the Application does it Maximize. As this was my first Encore2 "Crash," I am not sure what might be happening there. If I can get this Project done, I'll probably do a Repair Installation of Encore2, to see if the new behavior subsides.

Motion menu difficulty

Is anyone else having difficulty using the motion menus? I am using a menu with a motion background and audio background as well as using 8 video buttons motion video. This is something I have done a thousand times in Encore 1.5 but when I go to render it gets stuck and does not respond , I have tried not using the motion buttons and using the background only to no avail. When I preview without rendering everything shows up fine. I installed 2.0 without uninstalling 1.5

Just to keep anyone updated who is having a similar problem. It is either my installation or this is a bug in the program as I have created another project (this time smaller) with a different motion background video & audio along with two motion video buttons along with different files for those as well, just as before the program hangs\crashes at a certain point when rendering using the "animate buttons" check. As before I created the same exact project in 1.5 again with no problems.

3rd Party Motion Menus

Does anybody know of a 3rd party motion menu retailer? The OEM menus are really good, but I would like to see more of what is out there. I have not yet mastered the creation of these menus, soooooo, in the meantime I am willing to pay for some really cool stuff . . . a DVD or CD or even a website . . .

have there been any improvements in CS4 for excluding a thumb button from navigation - without going to AFX
or do the old rules still apply
PHOTO ONLY DISPLAY after firstly setting the link of the button to the relevant imported image timeline to complete thumbnail capture then choose convert the button to an object this effectively resolves the issues of navigation and retains the auto button routing for all remaining buttons.
FOR VIDEO DISPLAY
after setting the menu to animate buttons and linking the button to the respective video or chapter point to complete capture
the method used to exclude this button from navigation could be for example
with button routing, you just have all four directions of the button go back to itself, ie if it's button 1 then set all four directions to button 1 and it shouldn't be accessible or do any thing if you accessed it.
Then set up all the other buttons to exclude that button and make sure button 1 isn't the default button.

thing that interests me - is the video video change in the motion thumb buttons noticeable when switching to the transition videos ?
can i ask if anyone has a possible solution for this ?
We get asked a lot if it is possible to use the videoroom shown here
as a motion menu
as near to this a possible - by clicking on the respective video window the stream will play

Premiere elements 10 trial - buttons not clickable

hello,
i am evaluating premiere elements 10 and i have an apparently weird problem with buttons and tabs. here's an example of what happens:
when i run pe10, it starts in sceneline mode. the timeline tab has a dark background and if i click it nothing happens, just as if it was disabled.
i discovered that if i click and drag a little just over it, its background becomes gray. i release the button, and from now on the tab perfectly responds to clicks and i can switch to timeline mode.
the sceneline tab remains active, so i can switch to sceneline mode and then back to timeline mode.
the same happens for example, with the motion control buttons in the monitor (play, forward...) and the project/edit/disc menus/share tabs.
what drives me mad is that when i "enable" a button or tab the way i described, after a while it gets "disabled" again, and i have to repeat the "click+drag and click again" sequence.
this is my hw/sw configuration:
intel i5 imac - 27" - ram 16gb - hd 1tb (400gb free)
snow leopard - up to date
apple trackpad with "magicPrefs" driver
the magic mouse is configured on the system, but it is off (i don't use it anymore since i bought the trackpad)
any help will be greatly appreciated.

hello everybody,
it looks lke i've spoken too early.
after working correctly for about one month, suddenly the buttons and tabs in my registered premiere elements 10.0 started showing that problem again.
most of them are disbled at first, and i have to click and drag the mouse over them to enable.
sometimes they are regularly clickable from that point on, sometimes they get disabled again after clicking, and i have to re-enable them (again, by dragging the mouse over them).
i can do everything i need, but this way of working is really annoying and time-wasting.
i have re-downloaded and re-installed the program.
it is regularly registered.
everything works as expected, with the exception i described above.
using a trackpad or a mouse doesn't make any difference, the behaviour of the buttons is the same.
i have no similar problems with any other application i run.
i run an i5 mac with an up-to-date snow leopard.
any hint will be greatly appreciated.

Motion Tracking a dud

I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered what to me appears to be a couple of bugs with Motion Tracking.
1. The first is that on most videos I have used (MTS files), when I select the clip on the timeline and hit the Motion Tracking button nothing happens. Literally nothing. The button doesn't switch to the "on" mode, and the Auto-Analyzer pop-up window doesn't come up. After days of messing around with it, I found a bizarre solution. Rename the file! So if Motion Tracking won't switch on on file 00001.mts, I delete it from the media collection in Premiere Elements, rename it on the file system to say 0001.mts, reimport it, drag it onto the timeline, and hit Motion Tracking...and it works!
2. Well it works to a point. I can run Auto-Analyzer or Add Object manually, and it will find objects and track them. When I try to drag an item from Clip Art into the video window to anchor it to the object, Premiere Elements doesn't link it with the object. I've seen on YouTube demos that the orange box around the object changes to blue. That doesn't happen for me. It remains orange and when I drop the clip art on the object box, it simply drops it as a new layer and doesn't follow the object. This I can't find a workaround for as in 1. Has anyone experienced this?
I am using Adobe Premiere Elements 10 on a 32-bit Windows 7 Ultimate installation running on 64-bit hardware.
