No option to complete my album after iTunes update 10.5.2?

I have seen several posts on the issue about not having the option to complete an album, but no answers.  Anyone else having the same issue about purchasing a song, then not seeing it greyed out when you want to buy the whole album?  I purchased a song one day before the latest iTunes update, then again two days afterwards.
The song I purchased before the update is greyed out and I can complete the album at the "reduced" price.  The song I purchased afterwards, it not greyed out and the album is full price?
Ideas, solutions???

The ATV gen 1 is not home-sharing aware.  Have you tried to remove the iTunes library from your ATV and then reconnect, then go to iTunes > devices > ATV and enter the digits that appear on your ATV screen.

  • Links to songs lost after iTunes updates

    Hi everyone,
I seem to have to have two recurring problems with iTunes.
    1. After iTunes updates, I seem to lose the link to numerous songs. When I click on them, I get the little exclamation mark and a window asking if I want to locate the song manually in the library. This time around, I've got over 1500 songs in this boat. I can't locate them all manually. Each time I find one, it asks if I want iTunes to look for others. I click OK, but then it says it can't find any more.
    2. I have a lot of duplicate songs. The software seems to duplicate them itself. One of the versions will have the little exclamation mark beside it, the other will work. Is there a way to bulk clean this up? It is a rather lengthy process otherwise.
Is anyone else having these types of problems?
    Thanks
    Orest

Can't answer your issue because I don't use itunes to organize my music(MP3). I use the Finder. I do move my MP3 files to my 5 Macs and get the job done in a few minutes with never a problem.
I rip music, then pick my favorite songs. I delete the track number(working with a copy of the original MP3) and place my 2,160 MP3 files into a folder of my choice name. I leave my other "untouched" original MP3 in an archive on either a firewire drive or another sata internal drive for safe keeping.
Now I have a folder called whatever containing many folders such as rock, metal, jazz, etc...inside those folder of course would be organized by artist folder, album folder then the music.
When I re-do my Macs I just copy my favorites folder over to it. Launch itunes then add to the library(just select the top folder and it adds everything inside). I did id3 tag my favorites originally and also used GROUPING to then have a way to sort all the songs instantly, select all and choose the equalizer. I name my playlist the same name as GROUPING name to make it simple to transfer my favorite into each playlist.
Lots of typing here but infinitely easier to work with my huge collection of MP3 files.

  • After iTunes update, iTunes.exe System Error - msvcr80.dll missing  & icudt49.dll missing.

After iTunes update, iTunes.exe System Error - msvcr80.dll missing. Followed the support suggestion & uninstalled then re-installed iTunes 5 times & still no good so followed Apples advice & uninstalled again then went into programme files & manually deleted the files re-installed again & now getting iTunes.exe System Error - icudt49.dll missing. I give up, anyone out there help ?

I've just (finally) managed to fix this problem today. I checked the Apple Support forums, and it seems a lot of people are having the same problem.
I rang the Apple Support line, and the very helpful man (thanks Alan!) talked me through it stage by stage. If you go to the following page on the internet:http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376   it takes you through the process. WARNING - it takes a little time! The main purpose of this is to remove any trace of the old version of iTunes from your computer...
Basically, the first thing you have to do is go to your Program Files and double click on your iTunes folder. There'll be a number of files with the suffix .dll - you need to move all the .dll files from that folder to your desktop - you can simply click and drag them on the desktop..
Next, uninstall iTunes - go to Control Panel / Add/Rempve Programs and when the list comes up remove iTunes. This will take a few minutes... Then reboot your computer.
Next, go back to Control Panel / Add Remove and Remove - IN THIS ORDER -
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
    Reboot again!
Next, check in your Program Files that the iTunes folder is completely gone - if it has, great: if it hasn't, right-click on the folder and press Shift and Delete - it will say "Are you sure you want to completely remove the folder "iTunes"? Click on "Yes".
    Reboot!
Then go to the iTunes download page and voila! It should download iTunes without any problems... well it did for me.... Good luck!

  • I keep getting a msvcr80.dll error after iTunes update failed?

I keep getting a msvcr80.dll error after iTunes update failed?

Seems the base of the problem is the update installation does not change the libraries but the software wants to see them changed.  So the user has to go clear out all software that shares the libraries and then install the full version so they are rebuilt properly.

  • Home Sharing After iTunes Update to 11.1.5.5 - HELP!

I am unable to enable Home Sharing after updating to iTunes 11.1.5.5.
I've updated my Apple TV (3rd Gen) along with iTunes 11.1.5.5, restarted all my devices (iPad Air with iOS 7.0.6, iPhone 5 with iOS 7.0.6, Apple TV 3rd Gen and Windows 7 64bit PC), restarted my cable modem and router, logged out of iTunes Home Sharing, then back in, restarted my PC AGAIN and verified that all my devices are on the exact same network. My firewall settings are completly unchanged since prior to updating to iTunes 11.1.5.5 and I've verified this. I've also even tried switching all devices to the other network band on my router and switched them all back to no avail.
This has become so cumbesome with Apple every time there is an update, I crindge every time I see one available. Someone at Apple needs to WORK THIS BUG OUT!!! Or, Chormecast will be my new friend!! I thought Android devices were buggy, but I'm having second thoughts as I've NEVER had this much trouble with such a simple networking concept. iTunes Home Sharing has seriously become a complete mess!!
Any advice here???? All I want to do is watch my movie!!!

iPad Air WiFi 32GB, iOS 7.0.6
    iPhone 5 64GB iOS 7.0.6

  • Complete Startup Failure after software update (?)

    Hello,
I just updated my computer - G4 Silver Desktop - with the latest offering from Apple, which I think included updates for OS X, iTunes, & Quicktime.
However, immediately after this update, the computer will now no longer get past the initial 'Grey/Apple' screen. It begins and spins for a while, and then just shuts down completely.
I am searching for my Startup Disk in my stacks of stuff right now, but I am wondering if anyone can provide other suggestions to help.
    thank you!
    John

Try starting in "Safe Mode" (hold shift at startup)
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107393
If your computer starts up, repair permissions, verify disk (both in Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility)
If you are able to get to apple.com, download the "Combo" update and avoid the "Software Update..." (use that to see what is needed and get them from the apple.com site) re-apply the update and restart.
I'd start there. Post any results.
    Good Luck

  • Outlook won't close after iTunes update

Any one else notice this after the last iTunes / Quicktime update?
After the most recent iTunes update, Outlook 2003 will no longer close completely. It stays active in the systray (that's the bottom right of the screen with the time) even though it's been closed appropriately.
The reason this is a problem is the following:
    - Outlook continues to pull mail off the POP server. My wife's iphone never sees new email because it's already been pulled by Outlook.
The workaround is to log completely off of that windows account so Outlook is forced to close. (There are several other workarounds, but that one is easy...)
    Any ideas?

I'm having a similar problem - since I updated to iTunes 10, my Outlook 2007 just isn't working properly. When I close Outlook, it doesn't compeltely close. Like you, I have the grey Outlook icon in the status bar and have to close it (which probably isn't doing wonders for the .pst file) Disabling the Change Notifier doesn't seem to make any difference. Also when I actually have Outlook open, my messages are not being sent or received correctly - it seems to just sit there saying receiving message X of X and doesn't do anything else.

  • Airtunes and Airport not working after Itunes update

    Help
I have a new airport and before updating to the new version of iTunes it worked perfectly. Now the green light flashes (an option I ticked to show activity) but no music comes from the device. I have seen other users here with the same problem: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8147595
Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks
    James

    Same problem here.
My base station, which is newer, is working still, but the latest iTunes update knocked out my older AirPort Express.
I've tried many times to reset the Express with a paperclip but no results. After resetting the Express, AirPort Utility reads it through a scan, but when I try to add Express to my existing network it drops out and fails to reconnect.
I'm stuck with a flashing yellow light. AirPort Utility can't pick it up in another scan unless I go back and reset the Express with a paperclip and the process starts all over again.

  • IPad does not sync after iTunes update

    Hi there,
About a week ago, I updated my iTunes to 10.2.1. For some reason, I can't see the iPad in iTunes any longer when trying to sync. My iPod touch, however, shows up and syncs without problems. I've removed the iTunes (and Quicktime etc.) completely from the computer and reinstalled the software. No change. Tried McAfee's firewall settings, but still no change. I am desperate and running out of ideas now.
    Can anyone help, please?
    BR
    Peter

I also had this problem where I was forced to restore the iPad and iTunes would not see the device after preparing the restore and update.
Per the instructions on this thread and within http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 I did the following:
    1. From Windows XP task manager I stopped iPodService.exe from the Processes tab.
    2. I deleted the iTunes folder from c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\Apple
Now the restore and sync has been going through just fine.
This is annoying however, as this is the 2nd or 3rd time this has happened after performing an iTunes update. Luckily I backup and sync about once a week.

  • MacBookPro boot issue after iTunes update

MackBook Pro showing disc utility after iTunes Upgrade. Instead of restart, I am seeing disc utility.I am not sure if my data is safe if I choose reinstall option. Does it reinstall OS without touching data?

    Sorry for the late update.
The issue was with the McAfee encryption agent. If you have it on your MacBook Pro and by any chance you need to reinstall/ upgrade the OS, it will not allow it. I was stuck in the situation where it prevented any re-installation or roll back. The issue was solved only when I could get the HD decrypted by McAfee support and uninstall the agent through their experts. Only when the agent was removed, I could upgrade the OS.
Thank you Gnomish8 for your response.
    Thanks,
    - Gaikwad GV
