No phone service, now bogus email from Verizon

We haven't had phone service for over a week and now received a bogus email that would like me to believe it is from Verizon saying there was a problem processing my payment.  Does Verizon want to know about this email and how would I contact them regarding it? It is very hard to find information on website other than very general information.  Thanks

I got my iphone 6 plus less than a week ago. I ordered from Verizon. My phone is now randomly going from having a good cell signal to giving me a message No SIM. I was able to make calls, now when I get this message, I can't connect to cell service, which defeats the point of having a cell phone! The phone is brand new and has not been dropped, damaged, or otherwise mishandled. Did I get a defective phone or what?

Hi! I got in touch with AppleCare last evening finally. They helped me clear the data blockage or whatever. It sounds like this is an issue they are aware of, because they said the phone was not defective. However, it happened again today and it took several times of me doing the resetting of the network and hard staring the phone before the problem cleared. It is just frustrating because it is hard to go without cell service for long periods of time. And no, I have not done anything with the SIM card. I don't know what it is or how it would be accessed on an iPhone! This might be something Verizon wants to take a closer look at with Apple.
Thank you for the follow up. I will let you know if the problem continues.

  • I received an email from verizon telling me that my account is locked and to click on a link to verizon/security to unlock it.  Is this a legitimate email from verizon?

I received an email from Verizon telling me that my account is locked and to click on a link Verizon/security to unlock it.  Is this a legitimate email from Verizon.  How can I find out what this means?  My phone is working.

I have never heard of that before, if Verizon Wireless would do anything with your account they would be calling you (removed). In my opinion you should disregard the email.

  • How do I know if this is a legitimate email from Verizon?

How do I know if this is a legitimate email from Verizon?  It looks like a phishing attempt, but the last 4 digits of my account # are correct.
    Dear Valued Verizon Customer,
Your services are scheduled to be suspended. To view your suspension letter, sign in to your account at My Verizon. From your Profile, select the View Now button in the My Verizon Notifications section.
You can also View and Pay Your Bill at My Verizon.
    Notice Snapshot
Last 4 digits of your telephone/account number: XXXX
Amount Due to avoid suspension: $XXX.XX
Payment Due Date to avoid suspension on or before 02/09/2014
If you are not registered, access the My Verizon Registration Page and select the Register Now option.
Thank you for allowing us to serve you.
    Sincerely,
    Your Verizon Team

Any time you are unsure of the legitimacy of a notification like that, go directly to the source. Instead of clicking on any links in the email itself, go directly to verizon.com, sign in, and look at your account. Alternatively, you can call Verizon Billing to verify your account status. They have options for getting ahold of them on teh Contact Us link at the bottom of every page.
Remeber, it is *always* safer to go directly to company websites yourself than click on links in questionable emails. If the warning is legitimate, you should get the same information.

  • Iphone stopped receiving emails from verizon; error message wrongly says username and PW incorrect

Yesterday (10/21/13) my iphone 3 stopped receiving emails from my verizon account and error message says "the user name or password for verizon in incorrect," even though I know the user name and password are correct and I am receiving emails from verizon on my ipad and I mac. In addition, after I "reset." the phone by pressing the "home" and "off" buttons together until the apple logo appeared, I lost all of the emails that were on the iphone's mailboxes. What is wrong and how do I fix it?

Here is the solution given to me by a very helpful Verizon phone agent.  Go to your Verizon mail account under settings.  Under Incoming Mail server, change host name to pop.verizon.net.
Under Outgoing Mail Server, change host name to smtp.verizon.net.
Make sure Use SSL is on for Incoming and Outgoing Mail Servers.
She said the above is the solution that has worked for most people who are having trouble receiving and or sending Verizon emails from their Iphones since Monday October 21.  She said that if this solution did not work, it is then an Apple problem and I would then need to go to Apple's email client support for troubleshooting sending and receiving email messages (for MAC in my case).  After writing down all of the passwords and configurations for verizon email currently on my phone, including the new host names above, I ended up deactiving my verizon email account and then reimputing all of the passwords, configurations, ... .  It worked!  My verizon email was back and running.

  • Email from Verizon re: recent technical problems

I got an email from Verizon suggesting that I could have solved my recent problem by going online.  Hello...if someone other than a robot was sending out those emails, he,she would have realized that my problem was that ALL MY SERVICES WERE OUT...HENCE, NO EMAIL OR INTERNET.
Perhaps you could screen your email replies with a little personal touch?  It is very difficult to find a way to contact you other than through the online robot help, which in my experience is useless.
How about some more people to people contact without going through the irritating robot too?

Under myVerizon Account profile I do see this indicator [email protected] [Email validated on 6/19/2012] (this is my primary and no sub accounts). I did change all my passwords ;as I do on a regular basis and I always use strong one. thaknks for your replies

  • If I have two email accounts, one personal hotmail account and one MS Exchange work account, how can I setup individual notifications for each account. Right now, any email from any account has the same notification. I want work to be different than perso

If I have two email accounts, one personal hotmail account and one MS Exchange work account on my iPhone 4s, How can I setup individual notifications for each account? Fore example, if I get a work email, I want to hear a DING, DING....If I get a personal email, I want to hear a BEEP, BEEP. Right now, any email from any account has the same notification. I want work incoming email notification to be different than personal incoming notification. The only semi-workaround I've seen is just disable any notification for the Hotmail account, so only work emails would notify. But then I don't know when I get a personal email. Even the lowely Blackberry Torch 9800 has this feature..not iPhone 4s??
    Thanks

Sorry you get only one notification sound for all email accounts.  you can send a suggestion to apple here http://www.apple.com/feedback/

  • Received emails from Verizon - Pictures do not show correctly and strange characters appear in text

When I receive emails from Verizon users, embedded images do not display inline.  Each image(s) instead is displayed as a empty box with the red X boxed at the upper left.  The images are correctly displayed at the very end of the email.
Additionally, dotted capital A's appears frequently within the text as well as other extraneous characters and symbols.
Do I have an incorrect setting in Live Mail (Outlook express displays the same) or is it something Verizon is doing?  All of my other emails from different providers display properly.
Thanks in advance for any assistance which might be offered.

I have the same problem rec eiving from a friend who uses verizon. I use aol and even opened it in Internet Exporer and the same thing happened. This is a programing glitch with verizon email. I get the text in the email but the white squares with an x and no image. I have to downlod the images and open it as an attachment. The problem is you look at the image without the text which might be describing the image. Very inconvient. The person sending the emal has to enable the rich text option . I am still looking on how to do it on Verizon email but since I don't have it I am having trouble finding a solution.

No, as there is no such thing for an iPhone.
If not then will i be able to get the phone serviced here in India from the authorised dealer/agent in India?
Nope. You'll only be able to get the phone serviced in the US...no one will touch it in India.

  • Is this a legit email from Verizon?

I received this email supposedly from Verizon.  I don't use text so I don't know why I got this.  Is it legit?
    Dear Valued Customer,
We are following up on a text sent to you 15 days ago to verify the mobile number you provided.
To start the process, select the 'Verify Mobile Phone Number' link below. Once you receive the text requesting verification, please reply with your zip code.
    Verify Mobile Phone Number
Once you've verified your mobile number, you will be able to:
Get important updates about your account and services
Receive a code for your online account if you forget your password or get locked out
Protect your identity and help keep your account secure
    Thank you for choosing Verizon.

It appears to be legit. Did you just sign up recently and provide your mobile number? If you did than it looks like they are trying to verify the number before they grant access.

  • Cannot receive email from Verizon in Thunderbird 31.5.0

Have successfully used Thunderbird with Verizon email for years.
Recently updated to Thunderbird 31.5.0. Now cannot receive any Verizon messages---but can successfully send messages.
Can receive Verizon messages on Android phone and with Verizon webmail client---Verizon account is functional.
After many attempts to debug (including 15 mins on line with Verizon tech support), deleted Verizon account in Thunderbird and created a new account. Still cannot receive messages....but can still send messages.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks for any advice/help.
    Ed

I am really sorry if I have upset you by posting the same message twice. I only registered for the Forum this morning and this was my first message. I clicked Send before I received the email to confirm my address. I therefore assumed that the message had not gone.
I apologize for this and can assure you that I will not do it again.
If you are able could you give me some pointers as to what is happening. On looking at my Outbox it looks as though the message did go even though I got the error message.

  • Cannot get email from Verizon servers thru Time Warner ISP

I've had Verizon for many years until a move took us to California where it was not an option in our area.  I purchased the email addresses from Verizon 3 years ago.  Everything has worked fine until 2 weeks ago when my wife and myself cannot access our emails anymore using our home network.  If we log onto any other network it works great.  I've called both Time Warner and Verizon (which is a customer service story in itself)  twice a day for two weeks and have gotten nowhere.  Each blames the other but I still don't have email.  I've changed my router to get another ip address with the same result.  I've performed traceroutes which have ended with a verizon server but I can't get anyone at verizon to tell me if it is the email server or not.  I've tried whitelisting the ip address.  I've tried removing and reinstalling the verizon email account in my Macbook.  Nothing works!   Lots of threads of people with the same problem but I can't find a soulution.  PLEASE HELP!!

  • Calls and emails from Verizon

To {edited for privacy}, head of customer service in Tampa office
This isn’t about phishing per se, but I cannot seem to find an e-mail for customer service at Verizon…only “chat”.
I received a robo-call & VM last evening ON MY CELL PHONE from {edited for privacy}from “Jane” at “Verizon”. She reminded me that I must return my equipment or face additional charges on my next billing statement.
I received my return box on 7/23/15, and mailed it back to Verizon on 7/24/15 at 1:06 p.m. I will add that the box was mailed to me from you on 7/20/15.
I keep on getting e-mails from Verizon that will not allow me to respond via “reply”, so I called, and spoke with a CSR named Frankie yesterday (7/28/15). She tells me that Verizon has 30 days to check in returned equipment. Why all of the e-mails then? You want me to “return all equipment promptly”, or face $650.00 in additional charges, but you have 30 days to check my prompt mailing in?
    Let me get back to the robo-call…{edited for privacy} is the phone number to a place called OnProcess Technology…they act as your/Verizon’s “repo-men” for equipment. I do not have to guess where they got my cell phone number from, {edited for privacy}
It may not be a serious issue to you, {edited for privacy} but it is serious to me. When a huge corporation like Verizon feels free to bully a customer to return equipment that is property of Verizon, and that customer has complied to the request, then be done with it. Your own CSR tells me YOU have 30 days to check it in, well, stop calling me on a number that I have repeatedly told you all NOT to use, and stop e-mailing me.
    I hope that I do not have to take this to the next level, {edited for privacy}
If I receive one more call on my cell, that will determine my next action.

  • Verizon server timing out when using Yahoo to send and answer emails from Verizon user

A friend uses Yahoo for his email even though he is a Verizon customer.  Frequently when he sends or responds to emails from my Verizon email account, he gets Failure Notices saying that the "Verizon Server is unavailable for too long".  How can this be fixed short of saying "stop using Yahoo"?

The Yahoo/Verizon issue happens when Yahoo blocks Verizon's servers or vice-versa, and is usually cleared up within a day or two.
You can report it to Verizon if you want, but odds are they're already aware.

  • Bought printer on ebay now getting emails from HP Support asking me to return

Hi - I am not sure if anyone can help or has had a simillar situation but I bought a printer from Ebay in good faith and paid by PayPal. It came without a cable or cartridges but this was OK as it was to replace an old HP printer of mine that had both. It arrived in good condition and I was happy with it. Now I am receiving threatening emails supposedly from HP Support claiming that the printer was sent as a replacement for a defective device that I must return or I will be invoiced. Clearly this is some sort of scam but the Ebay seller is still selling a lot of these and has a high rating and is not responding to my emails. I have contacted Ebay about this as well. Any other advice would be appreciated

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
I am sorry this happened to you.
I sounds like the communication you are receiving claims you are in the possession of property that belongs to someone else -- or did belong to someone other than the person from whom you purchased the item.
You cannot take care of that sort of problem here, on a Community Forum.
You have to contact HP Technical Support.
You appear be the victim of Fraud:  You might be either the direct victim of having been duped by purchasing the property in the first place OR you may be the victim of cybercrime -- someone is claiming that you owe them money that you do NOT owe.
You should contact HP to see what HP says about the problem and then decide what to do based on that conversation.
