No phone service, poor communication from BT

Hi,
I noticed on Tuesday that I couldn't make any calls on my landline. Turns out that my phone hasn't been working since probably the Friday before as I also received no calls over the weekend.
I reported the fault to BT on Tuesday, and waited for them to come back to me with an update. In the meantime I checked my latest calls on the BT site, to see two calls made on the Friday in the afternoon when my property was 100% definitely unoccupied. One to 123 and the other to an unknown number to me which lasted 1 and a quarter hours!
I phoned BT to query these calls - the person in India was pretty confused as I tried to explain that I had also reported a fault as well. He identified the long call as being to PlusNet (and suggested I made it  - why would I, I am with BT for the next 2 years!). He didn't seem prepared to investigate further.
Now I hadn't heard anything back from BT about my fault by Thursday morning. In the interim I started to suspect I have a crossed line or similar - if I phone my own number I can hear it ringing somwhere (but not in my propery). Perhaps those 2 calls that I did not make signify when the problem started (a new phone line activated for plusnet?).
I ended up phoning in the fault to BT - to be told it cannot be fixed until the end of Monday. And I've just checked online and now it says the end of Tuesday! This seems a long time to be without my phone.
Can:
a) this be sped up perhaps?
b) I claim compensation for no phone service for so long?
c) I be assured I will not be charged for the two calls I did not make
Who can I contact about this that isn't located in Hyderabad or wherever BT's call centre is nowadays?
Thanks,
Andy

  • Poor communication from a communications company!!

I have to say I have never ever signed up or posted anything on a forum before, but after the last week of trying to deal with BT I have been driven to airing my views!
We recently moved house and after a week or so eventually managed to get an order set up to transfer our old telephone number to our new property. This was all systems go for last Wednesday.
Wednesday came and nothing happened, so I called BT. I had the "pleasure" of speaking to 6 different people around the world during my 2 HOUR telephone call, to eventually find out that my order had "got stuck in the BT system" and therefore had to be cancelled! I was told the order would be reinstated but would take a futher week for the line to be activated, and then only with a temporary number, not our old numbers as first requested!
To my joy, I was told that I would then have to call BT AGAIN to set up another order to get our old number back!
I did this and on this Sunday received an email confirmation back from BT to say the change of number would be active in one working days time, i.e yesterday or today depending on how you interpret this!
Surprise surprise, this hasn't happened in the timescale they said it would! I call BT yet again and have been told it will be active by midnight tomorrow night, so another 2 day delay!
How can a communications business be run like this??? In my two hour call last week I asked to speak to the manager of the person I was speaking to in the call centre and, when they wouldnt put me through, I'm sorry to say I raised my voice, at which point I was laughed at!! Outrageous!!
I eventually speak to somebody who professed to be the manager, who said they would look into the situation, and woud call me back within an hour. 5 days later I'm still waiting for that call!!!
This is one very unhappy BT customer, who is very very close to being an ex-customer (but i'm sure nobody at BT would care about that!!!)
    Cheers
    Jon

  • No phone service, now bogus email from Verizon

We haven't had phone service for over a week and now received a bogus email that would like me to believe it is from Verizon saying there was a problem processing my payment.  Does Verizon want to know about this email and how would I contact them regarding it? It is very hard to find information on website other than very general information.  Thanks

  • No phone service from April 2 to April 14?

Could someone from Verizon please email me?  I have emailed a message along with my repair requests and am getting the standard reply back.  I reported no service a few weeks ago, the tech laid a temporary line (at least I think it was supposed to be temporary) on the ground for a fast repair (?)  The line was broken on the evening of April 2 when there was a fire at a nearby house.  The firetrucks ran over the line I think and destroyed it.   I have had no phone service since that evening and was out of town all last week for medical reason and could not receive my messages.   I need my phone for medical reasons right now and have no service!! I can not make or receive calls and have not been able to since April 2 and for more than a week in March.  Twice I reported Verizon to the FCC last year.  I recieved a letter from {edited for privacy} of the Verizon Executive Relations Team in September of 2014, informing me that my complaint had been closed out.   It was not and I wrote {edited for privacy} and the FCC a letter saying so.  I have heard nothing back from Verizon on this matter and am extremely dissatsfied with Verizon.  I live in a rural area and am wondering if it is not economicably favorable for Verizon to take care of their customers here?  My neighbors and I certainly do not get realiable service from Verizon, yet we pay our bill!!

    Hi countrygal,

I have a 16GB 3GS phone since about20 months now. For the last few days, my phone is constantly giving me message that the accessory attached to my phone is not optimized for this iphone. You may experience noise or poor communication, while there is no acessory attached to it. I always used standard headphones and charging cable. Now when i recall, it started at one of the sync sessions with my itunes. I have turned my phone off and aon again and again but the message keeps coming every one or two minutes.I have also started loosing voicce on different applications like youtube etc. Also the ringer volume up and down key does not show me the small boxes increasing or decreasing on screen. The phone is playing crazy. Can someone help please
    Thanks
    Zia

It helped earlier but it has come back again. I don't know what to do. I tried what you said earlier but this time even this is not working either. And quite intrestingly my phone won't turn off. I turn it off, it goes off and then restarts on its own and then keep giving the same message again and again.
Could it be a charging cable, is there any chance that the cable which was working fine one day could turn to be "incompatible" with iphone the other day????????
    Please help

  • TS2446 My iphone 5 was stolen, i have refused to disconnect my service with sprint from the phone because i still have the hope that once the thieves turn on the phone or try to use it, I will be able to track them and find my phone. do you think is a goo

My iPhone 5 was stolen from me in a train station, the phones battery was dead, the iphone hasnt bee turned on yet, everytime I call it it rings once and goes to voicemail which tells me that it is still dead, nobody has charged it nor turned it on yet, the find my iphone app says its offline, and the sprint service representatives have told me that the phone has not been used yet. I dont want to disconnect my phones service just yet, becasue even if the thief restores my phone, and wipes out all of my information they cannot and will not be able to use it as if its theres because my carrier would still be connected on it. My hopes is that the thief will attempt to use the phone to make a call or to receive a call from my phone and then I will be able to find them tracing their calls. I did this once from my a blackberry that was taken from me and I found it... My question is can they erase all the information from my phone to the point of using it although i have not disconnected it from sprint????

    Yes.
Unless you are certain that it was stolen, don't overlook the fact it may have been turned in to a lost and found.

  • Communication from the Oracle Mngt service host to the agent host failed

    Hi There,
I have installed Oracle 10.2.0.1 Grid software on a Solaris Zone. I plan to upgrade it to 10.2.0.5 very soon but would like to test the agent connection from a remote server first. I installed agent version 10.2.0.5 on the remote server. When I log into the oracle grid GUI I can see the host called "localhost" (this is not the correct name. It should be the server name) and the database instances on that server. However, when I select the localhost and press the configure button I get the following message:
Communication from the Oracle Mngt service host to the agent host failed. Refer to help for details localhost:cn=servername
The system administrators changed the /etc/hosts file to make sure the server was listed first fully qualified. For example: servername.domain.com instead of servername. However, this did no make a difference.
Could the issue be any of the following:
    - Oracle 10.2.0.1 GRID does not work with 10.2.0.5 agents ?
    - Oracle GRID in general don't work on SOLARIS Zones?
    Please help.
    Thanks.

OMS - -> Agent communication is not upward compatible
Downward, so Agent 10.2.0.1 --> OMS 10.2.0.5, should not be a problem.
In the last case however, you would not have access to any 10.2.0.5 Agent features.
So you can choose from 2 working options:
    1 - Install the 10.2.0.1 Agent
2 - Upgrade your OMS to 10.2.0.5 (preferable)
    Regards

No, as there is no such thing for an iPhone.

Nope. You'll only be able to get the phone serviced in the US...no one will touch it in India.

  • Do you have to have a phone service to get service away from home on ipad

Do I have to have Verizon phone service to get service on ipad away from home...like in car. If I do does it come from the phone company?

You need a cellular data service from either AT&T or Verizon, depending on the model iPad you have.  Look at this:  http://www.apple.com/ipad/3g/
iPad cellular data is separate from any cell phone data plans you may have.
This explains how to use cellular data:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4146

  • Been without any phone service for over 8 hours

There is no way to report the outage online as the diagnostic does not show anything.  All of Chihuahua Valley in Warner Springs, California has not had phone service for over 8 hours and Verizon will not admit a problem despite numerous phone calls from friends who are outside the community and have phone service.  One of the neighbours was told there are no reports of an outage and was told that she could make an appointment for a tech to come out on the 15th!!!!!  Well if anyone at Verizon is reading this then get off your **bleep** and get this fixed.   951 767

  • Phone problems after upgrade from 8.5 to 9.0

    Hi everyone,
I upgraded our UCCX cluster last week from 8.5 to 9.0, and ever since then I've been getting reports of delays when answering a call (up to ~10 seconds). I also have one user that reports not being able to hangup at the end of a call (has to wait for the customer to terminate the call). Any ideas?
    CUCM Version: 9.1.1.20000-5
    UCCX Version: 9.0.2.11001-24
Also, I have ran the JTAPI resync to ensure that wasn't the issue.

Thanks for the input guys, but it ended up being a weird problem resulting from extension mobility. When I upgraded the cluster, I forgot to deactivate extension mobility, and this apparently confused CUCM. Our agents use extension mobility in order to allow for moving between physical phones and IP communicator, and the CDA records showed call transfers from the CCX being routed through the subscriber (which is at a remote WAN site) before reaching the phones using extension mobility. Deactivating the service on the entire cluster, rebooting the cluster, and then reactivating the service fixed the issue.

  • PHONE SERVICE FOR SPECIAL NEED CUSTOMER - YOU NEVER SHOWED????

We have been able to maintain my brother-in-law in an independent setting for most of his 59 years of life. Beyond his diabetes, cognitive delays and heart disease, he also struggles with the residual effects of schizophrenia and an awareness that he his different from other people. Recently, we had to move him into a new apartment and he needed land line phone service. We were not thrilled that we would have to wait more than 3-weeks to get an appointment - even after we explained he has medical needs - but we put as many supports as we could around him (needless to say, he forgets to charge his cell  phone, but the walkie-talkies worked ok).
THEN the day of our appointment arrives - AND NO VERIZON??? We waited from1-5pm, taking time off work... and no technician showed. When we called to ask the status of our appointment, we were told that the appointment was on the computer but no notes as to why  no one came. We were told we could Verizon could come the net day (which would be today , as I write) but it would be any time between 8am-5pm.
Why is this ok? Where is the customer service, the care? Why do I now have to wait from 8-5 for another technician - when we should ahve been put first on someone's list? I know we are not getting FIOS but...
I am venting here because there seems to be no customer concern hotline or email and I do not think this should get lost in the shuffle. Phone service for my brother-in-law is essential and vital to his wellbeing and abilitty to continue to function safely within the community. How can I recommend and respect your commitment to servicing persons with disabilities and special needs if this is my experiences with Verizon?

I'm sorry you are having difficulty. An agent with access to your account will reach out to you directly by email, private message in the Forums and/or the billing telephone number on your Verizon account for more information or to help you resolve your issue.

But my appointment was for YESTERDAY??? YOU DIDN'T SHOW UP. Why do I need a new 'expedited' appointment? AND, where was my phone call that you were NOT coming?
Verizon - please... explain this customer careappraoch? especially for someone that needs the phone service for his safety and well being. We ONLY needed the phone turned on - This is appalling and should NEVER have happened.
    Shame on you, Verizon.

  • CUCM 10.5 IPPS Speeddial ip phone services application

After upgrading to CUCM 10.5 my speeddial phone sevice broke.  So after fussing with the free phone service in the cisco sdk, and others from Myvoipsource(a good source) I've finally kludged a simple JSP page to do it.  It only edits the 1st 6 entries, but that's easy to change.  This is a very simple app that uses AXL and soap, so please forgive my poor programming skills.
    Installation:
Install Java sdk(jre 7), then apache tomcat(v 7).  Make a directory under webapps, like Speedial, than copy over the sd.txt file and rename it to sd.jsp into it.  Should work without further imports.  If you are using self-signed certs on CUCM you will have to import them into the java default keystore, instuctions here:
    http://www.chrissearle.org/2007/10/25/Adding_self-signed_https_certificates_to_java_keystore/
This is based on the kstearns source but modified to be completely self contianed, so you don't need the cisco sdk, or any jar files or classes, etc.
Now just make a phone service with the following url:
     http://yourserver:8080/speeddial/sd.jsp?name=#DEVICENAME#
    Hope this helps

revised script attached.  Program had issues with spaces in the label, and on 8851 phones exiting was a pain. added URLEncoding to label variable in main form url reference, and changed softkey:Exit to Init:Services in the update XML.
