No pick and send in File to file scenario

Dear XI Guru's,
        Am a newbee in XI world i have done steps related to XI file to file scenario in my XI system. I have taken help from the following blog.
Step by Step Guide: XML File 2 XML File Scenario: Part I
Step by Step Guide: XML File 2 XML File Scenario: Part II
But my file is not getting picked from the sender folder as my receiver folder is empty always...
Can we put an XMl file instead of DAT file
Please help. where am i going wrong..........

Hi,
Did you configure the FTP server using this Blog:
Along came a File Adapter, Mr. 'FTP' and Rest of the Gang
if so check whether you have checked all the parameters for the path which you created.
also ensure that as mentioned the blog at the end
"Even though in your local machine you have the folder name as ftproot and the path say C:ftproot, in your file adapter you will refer the same as / . So if you have created subfolders like input and output, in the adapter configuration it would be refered to as /input or /output and not C:ftprootinput or C:ftprootoutput. "
IP address will be the IP address where you have configured the FTP server and not like C:/ftproot/Sender....... as  you mentioned

  • PI 7.1 scenario -- File to File , File to IDOC  and IDoc to File Scenario

    Hi All,
    *I have PI 7.0 . I have in that File to File , File to IDOC  and IDoc to File Scenarios*
    File to File -- This scenario is working fine.
    File to IDOC   --  Setting done in PI 7.0 like SM59,  IDXI, IDX2  and in R/3 like SALE (logical system)---  This scenario is working fine.
    IDoc to File  --  Seeting done in R/3 like SALE (Logical system, Distrubtion Model (Port, Partner Profile)) -- This scenario is working fine.
    Now I need to move to PI 7.1  -- for File to File , File to IDOC  and IDoc to File Scenarios.
    Please let me know do I require to make any changes in Design and Configuration and settings in PI 7.1 and R/3 for above scenarios or it will work fine as it is already working for PI 7.0
    If changes are required please let me know what changes to do for each scaenario and pls also send blogs for that.

    If there is no metadata maintained for an idoc type, the metadata for that idoc type gets loaded when an idoc of that type is received by PI for the first time. If you are looking at loading metadata of all idoc types before the first run, its really not required. Just make sure that the port is configured properly. Although, there is no harm in preloading the metadata using IDX2.
    You need to use IDX2 mandatorily when the the metadata changes and the metadata in ECC and PI is different. In that case, you need to delete metadata for the changed IDoc type and then either you can update the metada through IDX2 or let the system take care of.

  • Best way to write objects in an xml and send the file?

    hello all
    i am making some objects, which i conver to xml using the XStream and then i am saving them to a file, call a function to send the file to a servant (basically i do this by sending bytes and this may be the problem). In the servant i take the data i write them to a file and then i read them again to make them objects...
    i have the following code in the client
            XStream xstream = new XStream(new DomDriver());
            xstream.alias("Jobb", WorkflowFramework.Jobb.class);
         String xml = xstream.toXML(translation);
               FileWriter fw = new FileWriter("translation.xml");
               ObjectOutputStream out = xstream.createObjectOutputStream(fw);
               out.writeObject(new Jobb("ougk2", "Walnes",null));
               out.close();
               File file=new File("translation.xml");
               byte buffer[]=new byte[(int)file.length()];
               try {
                    BufferedInputStream input=new BufferedInputStream(new FileInputStream("translation.xml"));
                    input.read(buffer,0,buffer.length);
                    input.close();
               } catch(Exception e) {
                      System.out.println("Error: "+e.getMessage());
                       e.printStackTrace();
               theRemoteObjRef.translationService(theCallbackObjectRef, buffer);i write the file and then i read it so as to have a buffer of bytes (there should be a better ways..)
    the last line sends an objectRef (we dont care about that) and the file in bytes to a server (to be specific to a servant of a server)..
    in the servant i do the following
    public void translationService(TheCallbackInterface objRef, byte data[]){
              try{
                        File file = new File("translation2.xml");
                    BufferedOutputStream output = new BufferedOutputStream(new FileOutputStream("translation2.xml"));
                  output.write(data, 0, data.length);
                  output.flush();
                  output.close();
              } catch(Exception e) {
                        System.out.println("Error: " + e.getMessage());
                        e.printStackTrace();
               XStream xstream = new XStream(new DomDriver());
               try { // If an error occurs, go to the "catch" block
                    FileReader fr2 = new FileReader("translation2.xml");
                    ObjectInputStream in = xstream.createObjectInputStream(fr2);
                    Jobb newJob = (Jobb)in.readObject();
                   System.out.println(newJob.getObjServerRef());
                   System.out.println(newJob.getForTranslation());
                   System.out.println(newJob.getTranslated());
                    }catch (Exception e) {
                         System.err.println("File input error"+e);
                    Jobb testJob=new Jobb("ougka","mpougka","falalala");
                    System.out.println(testJob.getObjServerRef());
                       System.out.println(testJob.getForTranslation());
                    System.out.println(testJob.getTranslated());
    the problem is that in the first group of System.out.println i get the error File input errorcom.thoughtworks.xstream.mapper.CannotResolveClassException: Jobb : Jobb
    but the second group of printlns, prints the correct results...
    do you know what is the problem? Why can i read the content of the file and get the objects from there?
    do you have any suggestions of writing and reading the file in an another way or to send it by NOT using a bytes array?
    do you have an alternative way of making the xml file?
    many thanks!

    Hi,
    I would suggest to reconsider building of your document so that it doesn't contain duplicates if you don't need them. And it doesn't have much to do with DB XML then.
    Also you could insert your document with duplicates and use XQuery Update facilities to delete undesirable nodes.

  • How to export data to .csv and send that file to folder using sql commands?

    Really hoping someone can provide some code sample or point me in the right direction (with examples using sql).
    I am using oracle 11g with plsql developer. My requirement is that the data retrieval should be automatic. That means when query a data in oracle table , the data should be convert into .csv file and then it should send that to some specific folder.
    Example: Assume that student_sub1 table have all students subject1 data.when i write a query like select * from student_sub1 where student=1, the student1 data should convert into .csv file and then the .csv file should go to student1 folder.
    Hence I am requesting you to suggest me how write a sql code to convert the data into .csv file and to create a folder to send that file using oracle.
    Your inputs helps me alot.
    Thanks in advance!!!!

  • Bypassing SOA MANAGER , Consume a stateless Webservice and send Zip file

    Hello,
    I have question around consuming web service via ABAP program.The scenario is consume a operation of a web-service and get the information, based on this information put the data in flat files and send it back in another operation of this web-service. Due to way web-service is implemented I cannot generate proxy class and use SOA manager the reason is web-service is using complex data type
    1) Is it possible to consume a web-service via ABAP program directly
    I have explored the SAP documentation and came up with this link
    Appendix C - SOAP Runtime for the SAP Web AS - SAP Library
    Few  Links I found are
    Manual HTTP POST from ABAP
    WebService 4.7 / WAS 620 XSTRING BASE 64
    Using any of the above approaches can  SAP program consume a web-service bypassing the SOA manager & send the zipped files in one of the operations.
    Thank you

    Appreciate if some one can answer the question above

  • Receive and Send XML files

    I have a requirement, to receive XML files from a Vendor, process them and send them back an XML file.
    What are the different way I can receive the files from the Vendor ?
    They do not support File Transfer Protocol and They do not want to access any web-service that we create for them to post the XML's ?
    What technology do I use to get the files, I was told we can use HTTP.
    Please let me know
    Thanks

    Timo,
    Thanks for your reply, the technology stack we are using is Oracle Middleware,
    The process of uploading the documents should be automatic , so I need to give the Vendor an URL, where they can post the XML documents.
    If I use a web-service, will that be having any URL for the vendor to post ? and I suppose I have to make that web-service open in the internet. ?

  • HOW TO TEST SOAP SENDER TO FILE SCENARIO

    Hi gurus,
    I have designed and configured SOAP to file scenario.
    I have used http://xyz namespace in design time.
    I have created two business systems for this sceanrio.
    I have downloaded and installed soap client on my system.
    When I open this soap client it is asking
    1)URL
    2)load request from
    3)In the editor request tab what should i give.
    4)wht is the response tab here
    I want to send data to XI from SOAP and then to file.
    Please help how to give data and how to get the data format to give in the requst editor?
    Points will B rewarded
    Regards
    Sreeni

    Hi,
    You can use a SOAP client like Altova XML spy for posting a message to XI.
    The best way to do this is to use the generated wsdl for creating a soap request.
    once the wsdl file is picked up by the soap client, it automatically generates the url.
    now the response which comes back to the soap client is usually a http status code of successful post. (since u r performing an async scenario)
    also ensure u use the j2ee port while genrating the wsdl using the "Create Webservice" option in Int Directory.
    Also chk the link for the weblog on sender soap scenario.

  • Pass through scenario in SAP PI with no mapping for File to IDoc and Idoc to file scenarios

    Hi Experts,
    Can i have step by step process in SAP PI for pass through scenario with no mapping in case of file to Idoc and Idoc to file both cases please.
    What objects i can skip.
    My PI system is 7.3 dual stack.
    I have seen below blogs, still its confusing to me.
    When and how to create an scenario in SAP PI without mapping objects.
    Pass Through Scenario with no Mapping in PI 7.1
    Appreciate your help on this.
    Regards,
    Mohan.

    Hi Mohan
    In pass thru interface you don't need to create any ESR objects, only ID objects are required.
    Just Create a Receiver Determination and Receiver Agreement for your scenario (no need for Interface Det. and Sender Agreement).
    Specify the IDOC in the Sender Interface and namespace as urn:sap-com:document:sap:idoc:messages
    Or instead of creating objects manually, Run the wizard with Idoc name/namespace in sender/receiver interface

  • Why can't I add email and send a file.

    I have a file to send and I can't type in the email address on the bar where it says To... Also, when I click address book blue icon I'm rerouted to buy the monthly subscription. I've emailed small things before. What am I missing here?

    When you click the Share icon and choose E-mail Document, you should be taken to the default Mail client.
    It should be no different than if you opened Mail and started a new document.
    Mail is totally NOT part of Adobe Reader. I'm really not sure what you have done. Mail can't be directing you to buying a subscription.
    Try sending an email from a different PDF file to confirm what I'm saying. Also, refer to the Help file in Reader for instructions.

  • Picking and sending to the relevant email address

    Is there a way to send an email to perticular email addresses using the single PHP server script?
    E.g.:
    A - owner of the website. (www.main.com)
    B to Z - distributors (all have linked the website to their own websites).
    If a customer of C sends a enquiry entering through Cs website (www.c-website.com/main.html), I need the enquiry to be sent to A and Cs email addresses only. How can this be achived?

    Thanks for the guidence. In my case storing email address in flash is a huge taks.
    1. What database system do you recommend will work best with PHP and at the same time easy handling?
    2. Could you show me how to write the scripts where it query the database and retrieve the appropriate email address? please.

  • File Adapter to read Zip file and send it as input to another webservice

    Hi,
    I have the below requirement:
    1. A service will generate 3 attachments and place it in a particular directory.
    2. SOA service has to pick those 3 files and send those files as input to another custom application which will email.
    Design :
    1. First SOA will create an archive file of those 3 attachements and then file adapter will poll for that zip file in that location and send that file as a whole to the custom application.
    Query:
    Now my question, is the above design feasible? If so, how to configure the file adapter to pass the file as input to that custom application?
    Kindly do the needful
    Thanks,
    Priya

    You can accomplish this via java embedding activity...Create a java embedding, which will create a zip file.. this java code is easy to implement..
    You can also do away with un-necessary polling file adapter.. and you can use "Synchronous File Read" operation of File Adapter.. For Sync Read, you'll have to pass the zip file name, which you can easily fetch from java embedding activity..
    Let me know, if this doesn't work.
